>Final Fantasy Tactics on PSP

What even motivates you to make such a stupid thread? You need to grow up
Trigger on PS1
kek
Actually I played it on the PS2 with the optical drive sped up and it was perfectly fine. Apparently it's not as good on the PS1.
>RE on anything but Playstation
The old PC ports were hardly bad.
>DOOM on anything but PC
PSX Doom has some of its own stuff going, and Doom 64 is a good game in its own right (basically an all new game, rather than a port, though).
Also, I enjoyed GBA Doom 2 as a teen because it's more or less Doom 2, if slightly scuffed, and with the comfortably compact GBA SP it was very nicely portable.
>Quake (and successors) on anything but PC
Console versions of Quake 2 have exclusive content.
The PSX port of Chrono Trigger is infamous for having to stop and load for every fight and every screen transition, as in every time you move from one room or screen to another, or every time you have to stop and fight the tiniest battle. It flows HORRIBLY because of this. The animated cutscenes are very cool, but the port performs substantially worse than the original which ran on the relatively meek SNES, and that's quite the failure.
If running it on a PS2 or PS3 gets you past that, that's pretty nice, but it was a very rough experience back then. The DS port of Chrono Trigger adds in the cool animated cutscenes and has no loading times, in addition to being portable.
>>SF2 on Genesis
It's the only home port that got the soundtrack right. Otherwise, enjoy your shitty pcm samples.
but the game play blows and the graphics are ass
The CPS1 and Mega Drive both used Motorola 68K CPUs. The Mega Drive port is the most accurate to arcade home port because of this. You probably only care about the graphics.
>CPS1 and Genesis are the same because they use the same CPU!
wrong
No but same CPU will not only make the process of porting the game far easier but it allows you to keep the core logic intact.
>it allows you to keep the core logic intact
This also isn't necessarily true.
I’m a complete Nintendoid and I’ll admit the Genesis SF 2 Turbo (SCE) plays a bit better.
Man going to ignore 30th Anniversary Edition
>halo on mac
What in the freaking heck!?!?
it was developed on the mac of course
ms had zero (0) launch titles for their upcoming xbox so they showed up at bunge with a huge truck full of money, and delayed the release of halo for almost a whole year, so it could be an xbox exclusive, then only later did it come to PC and finally, even later, the Mac which it was developed on and for
halo was part of a series that started on the mac you know
Halo was part of a series that started on the Xbox. And the mac version is by far and away the worst version of the game.
>Halo was part of a series that started on the Xbox.
Nope, it was simply the next game in the Marathon series. Mac version's the real, authentic version.
Yes it's that bad.
Big moron.
Halo is Marathon if and only if Sony owns Halo.
Microsoft owns Halo.
Therefore Halo is not Marathon.
have a nice day

>Ultima games on Nintendo
Apart from the "you can only save in this one location", what's wrong with NES Ultima III?
best played on classic mac with the lairware remake, it's superior in every way just vastly, even to the apple ][ original
Fair, however if I don't want to mess around with a Mac VM, and go for a quick & dirty Android emu, would the NES UIII be that bad?
>Ps1 ct
Way to out yourself as an idiot.
>Ports you should play:
Trigger on PS1
Ultima games on Famicom were well received.
They also look LEAGUES better too. I'll take playability and visual appeal anyday over "B-B-But Ultima is a PC RPG!"
I actually haven't played them because Ultima and Wizardry scare me even though I've played tons of other RPGs; but they should be more userfriendly on Famicom
Wizardry is definitely easier. No keyboard commands, it autosaves with each battle you win, and your party can't die from old age if you take too long to complete the game.
>They also look LEAGUES better too.
Famicom UIII looks better than the Mac version? That's just poppywiener. SNES Ultima games are trash too compared to the PC.
Worst way to play any Ultima.
Altered Beast on SMS and SMD was a mistake
there are much worse than that
Why did they add colour when it looked like this? Game boy looks better.
Altered Beast was demo'd during the Megadrive launch by having it placed next to the arcade cab, and most people couldn't tell the difference.
of course, the MD couldn't do scaling - they wanted to add it, but it made the chip too big according to the lead hardware engineer.
They could've cut out SMS backcompa, since nobody gave a shit about SMS games anyway. At least not when they saw the difference between SMS and Genesis titles side-by-side.
>of course, the MD couldn't do scaling - they wanted to add it, but it made the chip too big according to the lead hardware engineer.
Wasted too much die space on Master System backward compatibility.
Yeah, no. I don't care care all that much about your opinionated and sneering list, OP. Ultima games on the NES and Master System are surely a different experience than on Apple ][, Commodore 64, Atari 8-bit, NEC PC-8801 IBM PC, Atari ST Macintosh, Fujistu FM-7, MSX2, and Sharp X1. Those ports, along with Morrowind for OG Xbox, are bound to have differences here and there. Not even quoting your post, because you don't even deserve a (you)
Does it say "Amiga" on the box? In that case discard.
first off almost all home computer arcade ports are worthless outside 1-2 exceptions like Rodland
IIgs got amazing ports of Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. Shockingly good for the time.
PC gaming was a different format though. Arcade games are designed to suck quarters out of the pockets of children. With PC gaming you paid in one go and played at your leisure. It's why there are ZERO (0) ports of classic PC games to the arcades.
This board only cares about OPs post because he shit on something Famicom/Nintendo related, note how that’s the majority of game defense force discussion ITT lmao predictable as frick
Why do you literally only make threads to get mad about Nintendo?
I don't do this to shit I don't like. I don't think about that stuff at all.
>Bros, c'mon! It's time for our daily Nokia Ngage hate thread!
No. You are mentally ill.
Certain people resent Nintendo community managers being jannies on the board.
>Ultima games on Nintendo
Sorry, I liked Exodus on NES.
>literally all wrong
You gotta play Ultima on Gameboy, man
Ultima 3 and 4 on nes were good.
Sounds like you are a poser.
things you should have:
>sex
things you should not have:
>soda
>doritos
>carl's jrs
>RE on anything but playstation
The only version of RE1 that's fully uncensored is Japanese Saturn version. Not even the PC version with fan patch matches it.
And I really don't get this mentality. If you really enjoy a game, you'll enjoy all the fine differences and nuances of its ports.
>Ports you should play:
>Chrono Trigger on PS1
>Final Fantasy Tactics on PSP
incredibly based. the PSP translation is pure soul
street fighter 2 has better gameplay on megadrive gay ass.
>but muh snes version is better
no it isn't due to slow CPU,worse GPU of snes the only thing the snes version has on it's favor is the color and sound besides that everything is better on megadrive also.....
>snes 4 direction joypad
>megadrive 8 direction joypad.
you are just trying to bait and quite bad.
>RE games are superior on Dreamcast and gamecube
>quake had original added content on dreamcast
>morrowind is a shitty game and has to be discarded without regard, doesn't matter if PC or console is simply bad.
>SF2 Genesis > SNES
Mentally deranged shitzo.
The snes version has the same speed as on the Genesis, but with better color use and audio that actually sounds good.
>quake had original added content on dreamcast
>"dreamcast"
Anon, that was both the PSX and N64 ports.
The PSX even got a brand new boss
I never understood how someone can prefer the genesis version of SF2 over the snes one, only thing the genesis could possible have for it is the 6 button controller, but even there the snes pad is factually better when playing the game.
