>franchise repeatedly makes a point in both narrative and game mechanics that you become a stronger trainer by simply being on the same wavelength and great friends with your monster partners and trying your best >most of the player characters who end up becoming the best trainers around are early teens, with only a few outliers being late teens like or Colosseum's Wes >surprised when a character who's visually even younger is portrayed as competent
This isn't even a real thing. It's a concept made up by the anime. I mean are you moronic or something? There's been visibly younger trainers than the protagonist since Gen 2 with the school kids, and arguably the Bug Catchers in Gen 1. Since then there's been ones like the twins or the literal preschoolers in Gen 5.
Most of the strongest trainers are children. As you grow older, you become shittier at it. See: Red. Undefeated in his prime at the age of 11, proceeds to lose every single battle after.
>Lore: You can only start you journey when you're 10 >Devs: "Hey, how about a 5 year old child as an Elite Four member!"
I know Game Freak doesn't care, but I didn't know they liked to make themselves look like morons, Jesus!RPGNW
Yeah but they always usually have "pet" like Pokemon, and they aren't on journeys.

Anime lore is game lore, since the anime and the games are one. Otherwise, why no Protagonist is a toddler too and they always wait to start their journey?
Has the 10 year old thing ever been stated in a game or was it just an anime only thing? There's always been trainers that look younger than 10 in game.

That's anime lore.
Game lore is distinct.

Poppy got her own starter and became good enough to become part of the elite four, she likely comes from a wealthy family who could let her start early with a really good starter.
There have always been trainers younger than you. In SV in particular there are younger schoolmates who go on the treasure hunt meaning they have every right to go for the Pokémon League title. Poppy probably was a prodigy and did the same.
I actually liked this idea. Children are intuitive and could be more in touch with their pokemon. But gamefreak being gamefreak it doesn't reflect at all in gameplay. That's why fangames and romhacks are king.
why not, it's just rock paper scissors anyway.
Wait till this mf finds out how old all the protag champions are
17 years old like these two?

Talent is real. It's hard to accept but some people are naturally gifted and the rest of us plebs are like cripples compared to the able bodied.
Doesn't matter if you're a talented Driver, you can't get a driving license at 5 year old, like you can't get a Pokemon Trainer license until 10.

I hate this board, sometimes.

>stops mopping the floor with everyone and becomes a mere mortal when the player stops astral projecting into his body
Woah...
she's just very mature for her age

You just know
what is the point of the key anyway?
It's a bag that holds her candy.
Also unlocks the cage
It's your chastity key.
Design is not cute and funny at all though

I don't know what else you expected from a Japanese game developer.
They are known for throwing internal logic out of the window just for sex appeal.
Born into the right family, simple as
That's anime lore.
Game lore is distinct.
The games also state you can't get your license until you're 10 or 11.
Where?
>anime lore is game lore
No.

Don't insult the anime like that.
you have to be at least 10 to be sponsored by a professor. you can start earlier, but you have to provide your own starter.
So you need to be 10 to be sponsored by a professor but you can become an e4 member at 5?
Poppy is a miss, i'm afraid

Ever heard of child prodigies?
I prefer Sabi
INFANT DETECTED
ADMINISTER THE FRICK-OFF BIG ROCK
She probably has the best team of the entire Elite 4 and champion as well. Mono Steel is good but even then.
When will we get 6 year old protags?
Let's Go
Shitty coomer slop game.
This franchise is so dead.

They're very in touch with their houndooms and machokes.
that's a company that knows its audience.
