Apple just announced yesterday that a number of AAA games like RE4 remake, Assassin's Creed Mirage and more like it are coming to iPhone 15 Pro, which has a new GPU with hardware ray tracing acceleration.

It's impressive but I don't think it's going to anything huge for traditional gaming on smartphones. Gives a nice sneak peak for what the Switch 2 will get in its first year though.

Have you bought a mobile game, or even pirated one? No? That's why.
Mobilekeks want games to be unconditionally free and if they like one, they consider maybe spending a couple bucks on something they like when grinding for it gets bothersome... And end up dropping 15k by the end of the year. These jpegs print money like nothing before.

1)mobile"gamers" don't buy games, unless its a skinnerbox gacha
    2)touch controls are a crime

Touch controls are only an issue with awful ports of action games where you have these virtual sticks and buttons scattered everywhere. As long as devs use the input for its intended purpose, the games work perfectly fine.

Gacha and microtransactions ARE the reason mobile is the largest market you moron.

Turns out the majority are moronic, and they justify being scammed with bullshit like
      >if i enjoy getting reamed by a corporation why shouldn't I support them?

Apparently I'm the only person willing to pay $10 for a complete premium game with no MTX or ads, and I've only found 2 such mobile games.

There are more. Try searching through MiniReview app. It's got pretty neat filtering (including monetization variants), and the reviews typically focus on better games on the platform.

the only correct kind of mobile game is 2d and pen and paper management, like manager simulation

    >So why the frick is everything gacha or endless mtx bullshit
Because mobile gaymers don't have any standards whatsoever, simple as, and since people just won't pay 80€ for a mobile game, the better revenue model is to make the 20% out of the 20% whales spend millions on casino machines.
It's really that sad, they don't even bother to make a game for the microtransactions, the fricking game are the slot boxes with a little makeup to make it look like it has any gameplay whatsoever.

As far as people are concerned, it's merely a phone, meant for taking selfies and doomscrolling - just like a PC is just a boring instrument of wagecuckoldry. It doesn't have the appeal of a console that's engineered for the purpose of having fun. People find it gross to play games on it. They think buying phone games is cringe. They only bother playing on it to pass the time until they get to play real games on a real gaming system.
Doesn't matter how capable the device is if the stigma is so pervasive. Little demand, little supply.

Don't worry guys. The recent Unity BS pricing won't affect china because they have their separate rules under Unity China and the biggest developers like Genshin is a major shareholders in that company.

I don't remember the last time I've used my phone to play a game.
I would rather listen to music or a podcast.
    I hate touch screen controls.
Mobile gamers don't have any standards so they deserve what they get.

Nice, maybe by the time I upgrade my 13 pro with the iphone 19 or 20 these chips will have better efficiency and battery life.

You answered your own question. Everyone means a lot of people that aren't capable to beat the first level in Super Mario Bros., and people who actually like video games can't stand the idea of playing something on a phone even under good conditions (an accessory to add physical buttons or to play with an actual controller, enable silence mode, a good battery, enable a mode to improve performance, and so on).

Mobile gaming has been dead for a very, very long time. Most of the good games for both Android and iOS released in the early 2010s, the rest are entirely astroturfed due to predatory monetization. Because they were developed for older versions of these devices, an ungodly amount of them not only aren't searchable on the app store, but they won't even load if you download the APK and try to open it.

Pic related came out in 2011 and through the sheer bullheadedness of its developers managed to make it to 2023 without needing any ads or intrusive designs. It's probably the best platformer I've played on a smartphone, certainly better than the shit that makes it to the top 10.

The solution to this in my opinion is to just go into airplane mode whenever you launch a mobile game now. You'll quickly notice how barren and decrepit the majority of them are without an Internet connection firing off all synapses.

Google makes it hard to find decent stuff because their storefront promotes only the greediest bullshit. As a result, these games get fewer than 50k downloads, often fewer than 5k, despite selling well on other platforms.
Meanwhile, the players can't be bothered to do any research so they just grab whatever slop they see and think that's what mobile games are meant to be.
