I'm an absolute scrub at this game and I beat Balteus pre-patch.
How's it feel to know you're getting filtered by the baby version, loser?

I miss Balteus pre-nerf. I beat NG pre-patch and did NG+ post patch and Balty was a fricking joke. Or I just had better parts. Either way OP is a gay.

Removing your os tuning bonuses adds a little bit of challenge to earlier fights

NG Balteus and Sea Spider are tough both pre and post patch, but NG+ is literally speedrunning, you have everything you need to dunk on them. Pre patch though was more aggressive so you had to get good no matter what. I really loved this game

Nah, pre-batch Balteus was a b***h once you cracked the code, and a complete pushover in NG+.
Going in without OS upgrades AND not restocking supplies after Sulla is the only way to make him challenging.

          Anonymous

Wait, are people talking about a nerf to the CHAPTER 1 BALTEUS? holy shit, I thought you people were complaining about the act 5 version, not the complete pushover from the early game. Did anyone really ever have a single problem with that dude? All this time, I thought people were at least complaining about the “harder” version

snail balteus is easier as you have more upgrades and its attacks are simpler

You just go up, same strat as the tutorial boss. I don’t think I’ve ever been hit by one of the balteus missiles, even before this nerf that everyone keeps talking about.

              Anonymous

The missile salvos are the easy part, just assault boost towards him and they are completely useless, zero hits. The grenadecannon ja flamesword shit he pulls were infuriating since they don't telegraph at all, or it uses the later stage Souls telegraphing where they pause just long enough between swings to mess with your muscle memory or intuition.

It filtered assloads of people alongside the spider and Ibis

Hence the nerfs to those three instead of Snailteus

Look man, I got filtered by Ibis 5 times and Ayre took me over 20 tries, but never once did I imagine that people could have any problems with any of those 3 bosses and I’m by no means any good. Do people play games that aren’t brain dead easy and complain purposely, do you think?

                Anonymous

From software probably have statistics on where people get rekt and found those 3 in the lead

Then again I don't work with them so what do I know

You know, I wonder if they’ll ever slow the games down as From themselves age. You think Miyazaki would be less eager to make a fast-paced game in 10 years when his reflexes are failing him? Like, the old man himself has got to be able to test these things and I have no idea how older people can keep track of Ayre on screen lmao.

Apparantly Frombabies were complaining that some bosses were hard.
This was my first Fromsoft game I played and while I got stuck on the usual suspects of Balteus, Sea Monkey and Ibis, it was fixed by switching up the loadout and just playing better.

As I understood there were people who simply refused to change their builds and were trying to bruteforce bosses like morons.

                Anonymous

Not him but I brute forced my way through Snailteus instead of changing up my build because I was mad that they bait-and-switched me by putting a boss that completely hard countered it right at the end of the game whereas every other boss was manageable, felt very cheap.

Replay a couple of the early missions if you're really starved of resources. Do the training missions too, you get some gear there as well. Just couple of replays and the stuff you get from the trainings is more than enough to kit your AC with the best of everything you can buy at the point you're facing Balteus

Play the game? You get money for missions you absolute dumbass. Replay them or do the arena if you still somehow need more. Never once couldn’t buy everything that I wanted in this game.

Nobody has ever been filtered by balteus. This is a slightly less egregious version of the helicopter meme meant to make fromsloppers feel good about their meagre skills. The only legitimately hard boss in this entire game is the final boss of NG++ and even that is only because it's bullshit
    >but... but... muh Ibis!!!

The final phase of the final boss alone is more difficult than the entirety of Ibis.

How is the final phase of Iguazo Blanco harder than doing Ibis during NG?
Getting to the last phase with enough reserve health, okay, but the actual phase is easier than dodging Ibis second phase attacks.
If you can "never get hit" with Ibis, how is it a problem to "never get hit" by Iguazo in the final stage?

            Anonymous

I can consistently get to final phase with 2 repair kits. The issue is that his melee attacks are extremely difficult to dodge unless you can either get above them (not sustainable) or maybe outdistance by running? Idk I never do anything but play aggressively, especially having ammo issues, so I never tried that. They have insane tracking and he just spams them. The combo is a borderline one-shot and if you get hit by one you're getting hit by all of them. Ibis doesn't have anything remotely like that. I didn't use more than one repair kit in NG+ or NG++ using NG weapons and I killed him in 3 tries in NG. Iguazu and the boys took 3 hours and I'm doing the S rank last because it's the only thing in the game that's still hard. There's no attack in the game that's even comparable to his melee

S Ranking that mission is pretty easy with double zimmies dounle stun needle on a wheelchair build.

If you’re still stuck, it helps to use a lightweight build that can circle him quickly to get to his weak point at the front. A couple of SMG’s or MG’s to the face will stagger him very quickly.

        Anonymous

Nah I'm good, I beat it with a heavy AC but my problem was the shitty generator making me run out of boost at the worst moments, I beat it the first time with the good 'ol rotating pea shooter, the second time I did it with laser rifles and it got completely demolished, also plasma rifles work wonders on armored enemies.
