Hey newfriend! I see you've never worked with GW's resin before. GW resin, formerly known as "Finecast" or more commonly known as "Failcast" or "Finecrap" is notorious amongst people who play Games workshop games as initial runs were extremely low quality and commonly had large cavities in molded products, in addition to having a lot of flash. GW later improved the process, however it is still extremely common to have bubbles in molded parts, and they never solved the issue of there being a ton of flash. In addition, finecast bends very easily on thin parts, which is inherent to the material and an issue plastic does not have, meaning that larger things tend to require far more work than a plastic model. GW is, well was, currently in the process of retiring all resin models, as their plastic molding technology has become able to produce sufficiently high quality and detailed miniatures, meaning resin is obsolete.

There's a difference between cast resin and printed resin. Also if you have a 3D printer and you have a bad print you can just redo it and you've lost maybe a couple bucks worth of resin.
It's just trolls pretending to be moronic, or anons who truly are mildly moronic, maybe both. The conceit is that GW's shitty, low-quality Finecast resin, the darker material forgeworld uses, the various epoxies smaller companies use, and the liquid your 3D printer use are all technically resin.
Functional human beings can easily rely on context to know which one the writer is referring to, but the autistic monkeys here are playing a verbal "Beetle in a box" game. The winning move is to mailto:sage and laugh at them for being born wrong, then move on to the next obvious bait thread.
I don't have an issue with resin as a material, I have an issue with GW using it as an excuse to charge twice or thrice as much for their already overpriced shit, when they could have just made it in plastic instead any nobody would have any problem with it

Why make interesting Arthurian knights that actually require you to be creative when you can just rip off the Franks
i know this is a false flag shitpost, but the shield is tacky and the crest is weird, besides that, is there anything actually significant wrong with it? looks pretty good
I'm not gonna pretend that these aren't technically superior to their FireForge alternatives (in terms of finesse and amount of detail, production value), but goddamn are they ugly. Their shields are nonsense made from people who probably don't even know what a shield is made of and didn't bother to research. Lots of the helmets are stupidly open-faced and they're not even wearing aventail to protect their stupid necks (some of them have some level of gorget but it's less than half of them). Full articulated plate and yet some of these idiots aren't wearing any kind of hand protection; some at least have gloves so they don't look as bad, but they're the minority. The tabards are ugly and insanley chonky, and their shoulders seem disconnected from their torsos.
There's a lot of design going on there and it is very detailed, but it isn't good.
>nooooooo why doesn’t my high fantasy setting about space lizards fighting rat men on magic crack with nukes follow real life design? It’s shit
This is why WFB died the first time
sorry man, I also think it's stupid to have models rolling around in full plate armour with bare hands, and also think the shields look ugly

Late to this little exchange but holy fricking irony Batman Embarrassing
I need to see some sprues and better photos. They've picked a fricking awful angle for a showcase image. Plus I have a feeling they've made the faceplates a separate piece which is going to be fricking horrible for sprue nubs.
Anyways losing the perry twin influence has been a disaster for the bretonnians. I will probably grab some of the heroes (the damsels and BSBs look great) but the jury's still out on these dorks.
It’s always funny when people say this as if GW hasn’t released several design notes in which they jerk off the old designers and the new designers jerk them off too about how inspired they are
Whatever cope that helps you think there’s a grand divide in designer philosophy and not an evolution. It’s the same shit made by the same people who cultivated and curated the same design. You’re fricking moronic and don’t know Jack shit about product development and company culture. Fricking child you think the ideas and beliefs that made this game just vanished when they left? Fricking idiot get a job
NTA, but what evolution? What is it exactly that evolved? Objectively speaking they can sculpt better horses (sometimes) and feathers, yes, and their proportions are fine for the most part but a design is more than that.
Modern GW minis are less practical, more visually inconsistent, filled with unnecessary levels of detail, their style is off because the best minis of Warhammer Fantasy blended history with fantasy and were not as high fantasy as the designs they've come out with since late era fantasy. They all feel as if they're one-offs made for collectors to paint and look at so they can notice all the cool little detail, but looking at them from afar is a mess.
Granted not all the old minis were winners, but this is in no way a wholesale improvement. They didn't take Perry sculpts, Brian Nelson's sculpts and Trish Morrison's work and then look at what made them so great, they took them and just aped them. All those people who made the original bretonnians are for the most part retired or long since left, and so are most of the people who gave a shit about WHFB.
Things don't disappear, but you are a fricking moron if you think that there haven't been slow, gradual changes that erode away their understanding of what made past designs work. This isn't a synthesis of the old and the new, this is just trying to take the new and give it a nostalgic coat of paint.
> Modern GW minis are less practical, more visually inconsistent, filled with unnecessary levels of detail, their style is off because the best minis of Warhammer Fantasy blended history with fantasy and were not as high fantasy as the designs they've come out with since late era fantasy. This right here is the highlight of the thread.

You’re fricking moronic and don’t know Jack shit about product development and company culture. Fricking child you think the ideas and beliefs that made this game just vanished when they left? Fricking idiot get a job
It's weird because you'rd very strident and making sure to tell people you're a big boy with big boy pants and a big boy job but you've accidentally alluded to the problem people that are autistic about the design of these have with the designers. It's the lack of external input. Somebody coming up in the milieu that informed the first gen designers and sculptors isn't going to make the same dumb mistakes as somebody that grew up with their resultant product. I can't tell you about ca 1340s transitional ball protection or whatever but no hand protection with plate armour looks pretty rarted
Some people unironically did.
Though those people are mostly secondaries I'd wager. Zero actual interaction with the models, just see old <INSERT GOOD BUZZWORD> models and new <INSERT BAD BUZZWORD> models and think that the <GOOD BUZZWORD> is inherent to the old game and <BAD BUZZWORD> inherent to new game instead of seeing all the models in between and realizing "Oh. The new look is a result of stylistic changes over the past two decades and they're not just going to go back to the old style"
>I cannot carry a cart of food back to village >i cannot wheel a barrel of water back to village
muh 'no need for wheel' is not an excuse for not inventing/discovering it. You will never be European. You will never be able to digest milk.
most GW minis are actually great for the past 5 years the problem is that they always use this weird super clean paintstyle where everything is edge highlighted, that does not look organic at all
There isn't a lot about the new Brett stuff I like. The monk is really cool, I love the knights. Not so fond of the foot-knights but they'll make good models for Mordheim and such. I hope they bring back the Jester character.
They wanted to capitalize on Total Warhammer's immense success. Back in Total Warhams 2 days it was breaking records and people were constantly asking how to play the miniature game, only to be shown pictures of sigmarines and flying sharks.
Funniest shit is that 3 shit the bed completely to the point that the studio might get sold. So GW is years behind in trying to provide for the demand that evaporated.
There wasn't any demand, stop talking out your ass. Anyone who was playing total war was already playing the game and wasn't interested in going into a massive money and time pit when they were still getting a superior experience
Bretonnia has always been a soulless faction, it went from copy pasting 1300s medieval europe into the game to a rip off of Arthurian lore, easily the least imaginative of all warhammer factions. Only white knighting simps and braindead 'muh knigits' chuds would even consider playing them.
>looks like brettonia to me
That’s the problem Brettonia always looked like fricking ass and I’m glad people are finally realizing it. It’s a shame they still managed to think the old models were good somehow at the same time. Boring ass Frankish knights what waste to the settings and a waste of everything about the grail and their religion
Yeah they showed me the green knight a peak Arthurian design and then shitted out a range that’s an embarrassment to that concept. It’s a fricking high fantasy setting/game not fricking hail ceaser
This thread is painful. The Old World is likely to die on its arse, but not because the militia models have bare hands like Romans, Vikings or Normans as several massive autists seem to be suggesting.
>make the best monopose skeletons ever designed, like six different times >put them all in limited run warcry shit that they only produce for a year or two then fling all the excess stock into a fire
I hate GW so fricking much man
On one hand I love the new GW skeletons, on other hand I miss the old ones and wish I bought few more boxes. The basic bone skeletons GW used to sell just a year or so ago just hit the right notes, more so than I've seen any other competitor.
Why does bretonnia make AoS gays seethe so much? Knights are fricking timeless and your shitty high fantasy armor designs made by people who know nothing about armor are not better than the beautiful art that that took humans centuries to perfect.
Who else would keep seething about Fantasy models being too "generic" and "realistic"? It has to be someone with some kind of interest in GW and couldn't be actual fantasy fans since most armies in that game look great because they look fantastical yet realistic. Just look at high elves who for wear pretty practical armor all things considered.
It's just off as a figure.
But how are people not finally happy the real Bretonnian knights of the realm & men at arms are coming back into production? Just to have those back in prizes that while still unreasonably overpriced won't be whatever bullshit goes on in eBay.
eh, it's fine. It and the foot knights will however stand out like a sore fricking thumb against twenty year old models. Also

no more so than the plastic characters from the last two editions of the game
It's fantastic. Good painters are going to work magic with this one.
Thats fine. These however
are kino?
If you like Hero Forge
It’s shit
This is why WFB died the first time
sorry man, I also think it's stupid to have models rolling around in full plate armour with bare hands, and also think the shields look ugly
honestly, if you're gonna get personally offended and upset on behalf of GW every time somebody thinks that a model looks stupid you're gonna have a tough time in life, probably best to try and work through it with a counsellor or psych sooner rather than later
>Warhammer fantasy isn’t what you think it is
>how fricking dare you disagree with my opinion you’re clearly emotionally invested and I’m not projecting
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
that strawmanning is absurd, and I clearly identified myself as a different poster to the one you first replied to
games workshop isn't your best friend, it's a company, and you need to stop taking things so seriously and getting so upset by different opinions, it's probably really bad for you
You need to stop projecting and drink some water wtf are you talking about
>calms down enough to come up with "no u"
gw fan boys, not the best and brightest
Late to this little exchange but holy fricking irony Batman Embarrassing
>space lizards fighting rat men on magic crack with nukes
Garbage proto aos factions. Whfb would be better with them removed
Fireforge games foot knights look ugly as frick, sinful, terrible
They just couldn’t resist shoving a woman in there couldn’t they?
because they are based. cry more.
Based on what? Alphabet quotas?
based on making incel pussies cry
Ok, incel. Keep crying.
Don’t worry kid you won’t have to try to talk to her (and inevitably fail)
>stomcast poses
>fugly helmets
>goofy ass axes for the alt weapons
liking these are the mark of a true consoomer
I need to see some sprues and better photos. They've picked a fricking awful angle for a showcase image. Plus I have a feeling they've made the faceplates a separate piece which is going to be fricking horrible for sprue nubs.
Anyways losing the perry twin influence has been a disaster for the bretonnians. I will probably grab some of the heroes (the damsels and BSBs look great) but the jury's still out on these dorks.
They dropped the ball on these. They look like they re-used leftover sigmar assets on them.
Current designers. You stupid or something? You didnt think GW would magically become good again just because it brought Fantasy back did you?
It’s always funny when people say this as if GW hasn’t released several design notes in which they jerk off the old designers and the new designers jerk them off too about how inspired they are
More old good new bad brain rot
If I make a stick person out of shit, it is supposed to become respectable because I was inspired to do it by the Mona Lisa?
Whatever cope that helps you think there’s a grand divide in designer philosophy and not an evolution. It’s the same shit made by the same people who cultivated and curated the same design. You’re fricking moronic and don’t know Jack shit about product development and company culture. Fricking child you think the ideas and beliefs that made this game just vanished when they left? Fricking idiot get a job
nta but holy shit you're mad haha

This right here is the highlight of the thread.
>Trish Morrison's work and then look at what made them so great
I didn't realise your post was b8 until I read that. Well done anon.
No, because no sane person would be inspired in that way. I wish there was one person on this site who actually knew how to argue
Bretonnia was always a LGBTQ+ army. Frenchmen with silly hats riding Unicorns and Pegasusses? Miss me with that homosexual shit.
Wait what the frick.
Is that real?
Make your own. ezy.
Honestly I like the crown-style helmet more but as a whole it's a pretty decent plastic lord choice.
They couldn't even put the feather line stripling on the molds, probably have to paint all the trims too.
Whats it gonna be boys?
The (cargo) cult of the wheel.
Given the shitty terrain of deep africa and lack of beast of burden wouldn't it just be easier to run?
>I cannot carry a cart of food back to village
>i cannot wheel a barrel of water back to village
muh 'no need for wheel' is not an excuse for not inventing/discovering it. You will never be European. You will never be able to digest milk.
models are built using a computer program
>grogs and trannies who got into AoS still losing their minds over knights on horses or sometimes on the ground
Lmao.
Must be tiring having your whole life revolving around hating a game of toys
I don't get it. What's wrong with it?
most GW minis are actually great for the past 5 years the problem is that they always use this weird super clean paintstyle where everything is edge highlighted, that does not look organic at all
There isn't a lot about the new Brett stuff I like. The monk is really cool, I love the knights. Not so fond of the foot-knights but they'll make good models for Mordheim and such. I hope they bring back the Jester character.
Game that died because too expensive and no one played
Now more expensive.
What makes them this this is a good idea?
They wanted to capitalize on Total Warhammer's immense success. Back in Total Warhams 2 days it was breaking records and people were constantly asking how to play the miniature game, only to be shown pictures of sigmarines and flying sharks.
Funniest shit is that 3 shit the bed completely to the point that the studio might get sold. So GW is years behind in trying to provide for the demand that evaporated.
There wasn't any demand, stop talking out your ass. Anyone who was playing total war was already playing the game and wasn't interested in going into a massive money and time pit when they were still getting a superior experience
Soulless is a meaningless buzzword. If you can't actually describe the problem you shouldn't have started a thread.
Nah - the use of ‘soulless’ is a useful indicator confirming the poster is a worthless basement bottle pisser. Much like ‘onions’ or ‘troony’.
Nah, onions and trannies are useful indicators of troony zoyposting.
Soulless shit is usually byproduct of this.
I think we all know you’re a nogame neckbeard tastelet without you needing to confirm it so clearly
Who's "we", tourist? No need to use too many slang words, you still stick out like a sore thumb anyway.
We all know you have all the time you want on here with no games or love life to occupy you
Who's "we"?
All of us that have touched grass. You know it in your heart
Guess I'm part of your "we" too. Sorry, chump.
Second Life doesn’t count as outside kid
Nice projecting. Keep crying.
It's strange how every new model has some dynamic diorama pose, but always looks incredibly static compared to many old models.
It’s the CAD design.
Bretonnia has always been a soulless faction, it went from copy pasting 1300s medieval europe into the game to a rip off of Arthurian lore, easily the least imaginative of all warhammer factions. Only white knighting simps and braindead 'muh knigits' chuds would even consider playing them.
what actually is wrong with it?
why do you say soulless?
looks like brettonia to me
>looks like brettonia to me
That’s the problem Brettonia always looked like fricking ass and I’m glad people are finally realizing it. It’s a shame they still managed to think the old models were good somehow at the same time. Boring ass Frankish knights what waste to the settings and a waste of everything about the grail and their religion
Sounds like a (You) problem.
Yeah they showed me the green knight a peak Arthurian design and then shitted out a range that’s an embarrassment to that concept. It’s a fricking high fantasy setting/game not fricking hail ceaser
Don't care. I just want tomb kangz and dorfs.
>ITT
>2
I count 6
IP Count is right there anon.
This thread is painful. The Old World is likely to die on its arse, but not because the militia models have bare hands like Romans, Vikings or Normans as several massive autists seem to be suggesting.
what militia models?
>militia
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/10/14/warhammer-day-preview-the-kingdom-of-bretonnia-revealed/
do you mean the men at arms?
couldn't be fricked reading the thread but ctrl+f didn't come up with anybody complaining about them
We have more people in here than the 40k general.
Also, SKELETONS
>make the best monopose skeletons ever designed, like six different times
>put them all in limited run warcry shit that they only produce for a year or two then fling all the excess stock into a fire
I hate GW so fricking much man
You know that those are the standard skeletons for the vampires now, yes?
I'm moronic and was thinking of the underworlds ones
On one hand I love the new GW skeletons, on other hand I miss the old ones and wish I bought few more boxes. The basic bone skeletons GW used to sell just a year or so ago just hit the right notes, more so than I've seen any other competitor.
>What the frick went wrong with The Old World?
You have lack of taste and historical sense.
>Be Me
>Daemon Player
>Excited for yet another system in which my models have rules
Damn, that looks pretty soulful.
Pretty ebin bait thread you got going
Why does bretonnia make AoS gays seethe so much? Knights are fricking timeless and your shitty high fantasy armor designs made by people who know nothing about armor are not better than the beautiful art that that took humans centuries to perfect.
Why do you assume anyone who plays AoS has anything to do with this shit show?
Tick tock Shiggly Piggly.
*yawn*
Who else would keep seething about Fantasy models being too "generic" and "realistic"? It has to be someone with some kind of interest in GW and couldn't be actual fantasy fans since most armies in that game look great because they look fantastical yet realistic. Just look at high elves who for wear pretty practical armor all things considered.
It's just off as a figure.
But how are people not finally happy the real Bretonnian knights of the realm & men at arms are coming back into production? Just to have those back in prizes that while still unreasonably overpriced won't be whatever bullshit goes on in eBay.
The game company that owned it became corporate.
