Why do people think this is a valid argument against the games?
its poorly spread out, most of the diverse encounters are on the latter half of the game
IIRC Johto counts its regional dex including Kanto exclusives, so the number isn't really accurate to what you can use for most of the game.

Fun Fact: Crystal has better early game distribution than XY.
That makes sense, Crystal is objectively the best Johto game and XY never got a revision.
Crystal has the worst dex of the Johto games. The exclusives it loses from Gold and Silver really hurt the game and it does some completely unnecessary things like moving Magmar to postgame.
The Emerald section is slightly inaccurate but I'd like to see a chart like this for the second gym.
