Literally the best Resident Evil game. I thought it was even more fun than Resident Evil 4. I can't wait for Resident Evil 9

It's pretty good, but the doll house and lake are really boring on replays
The Doll House boss fight almost filtered me because I didn't know where I was suppose to go or what to do, frankly didn't like the entire segment.
he's right though
I love Donna.
For me it’s bela
I really enjoyed it but my favorite is the re2 remake but village was a lot of fun. I have not played the dlc tho is it worth it?
I think the RE2 Remake was pretty fun and well done, but Village is still my favorite. I skipped the remake for RE3, heard it was rushed and bad. I'm hoping the remake for RE4 is good, but so far I'm seeing mixed reactions, some say it's great and others say it plays/looks like shit.
Re4 remakes demo was a lot of fun I enjoyed it so I think the game is gonna be great. Have you played it yet?
I don't usually mess with demos, but I guess there is no harm in trying it.
It squashed any doubts I had for it. It’s only about 20 minutes if you really take your time so it’s worth checking out
The dlc is okay not really worth replaying
the third person camera is the definitive way to play Village, too bad the cutscenes force you into first person.
>game made ethan even more likeable
>kills him in the end
what did capcom mean by this?
don't worry, like all dead resident evil characters he will live on forever in our hearts... and in porn
but hes mostly in gay porn
So, why did they randomly make Chris half werewolf on the cover?
Don't know. He's the most recognizable character from the game, and
>his squad is called the Hound Wolf Squad
>there are werewolves in the game
because misleading advertising was the name of the game a few years back. The game is effectively about werewolves, and the idea that Chris was now the "bad guy" of the story amd covering his face with the mold and making half his face some wolf like creature created a lot of speculation about what was going on with Chris.
Thematically as well it makes him "the big bad wolf" of Ethan's fairy tale adventure story.
>Literally the best Resident Evil game
And what would you consider the best one?
Everyone knows is REmake.
RE2. RE8 isn't even better than RE7 let alone "best in the series." Even here on Ganker even fucking REmake 3 was discussed for longer than RE8 was. It's been the most overhyped and forgotten RE engine game since they began. With REmake 4 coming out you don't even hear people mention RE8 anymore, while REmake 2 and RE7 are frequently discussed.
I hardly ever see RE threads in general on Ganker, and when I do it's usually for RE4 and nothing else. The RE2 remake was really well done and I enjoyed it, so I can understand if that is more popular. I played both though, and still found Village to be more fun and enjoyable.
>I hardly ever see RE threads in general on Ganker
You are blind then, they are one of the more popular all year round topics on Ganker and have been for many years to the point of being told they should be moved to /vg/
You are right about 7, but I still have no idea why Ganker likes it. Jack is the only good Baker and all of the enemies are visually identical. There hasn't been a good Resident Evil game since 5, and 5 is only good as a coop experience.
>You are right about 7, but I still have no idea why Ganker likes it.
Because it was literally anything but 5 and 6. Classicfags looked at it and said "well it's not what i am used to but at LEAST it's not action shitter garbage!"
and then REmake 2 came along and gave the majority of the fandom exactly what people had been looking for since RE4.
The second half of the game was run and gun. There where like only 3 enemy typs and it was so boring. Will never understand why RE7 is so popular.
RE1, RE2, REmake, RE4, RE7, RE2 remake are all better, and that's me trying to be fair to Village.
>Chris never turns into a werewolf and fucks up vampires
Game was no more than a 7/10 at best. Needed more enemy variety and pacing is all over the place. Bosses were also extremely underwhelming. Nothing will ever top 4 og.
Forgot to mention linear levels who give illusion of freeform exploration and puzzle solving
>Needed more enemy variety
Are you retarded? The game had tons of enemy variety. I think you're confusing RE8's enemy variety with RE7's. That game you literally fought the same 2 enemies for 10 hours.
7 and 8 sucks on replays. I can already feel 4 remake will too
It's ok if you're more action oriented. There are certainly scary parts but I was also completely loaded out for large portions of the game. Maybe playing on the highest difficulty is the solution.
should i play this now to prep myself for RE4make bros
i felt discouraged from playing it because of how much people talk shit about it
Never let anyone's opinion discourage you, and certainly not the shitposting Gankerirgins that don't even play games but stir the pot on this hellhole board.
Might as well. It's cheap. Keep expectations in check and you should have a decent time with it. Definitely worth a play if you're an RE fan.
>steals the opening village attack, lake, inventory, upgrades and credit sequences from 4
>turns Chris into a sociopath
>story sets up for the biological warfare shit that tanked the series with 5 and 6 again
>game goes to shit during the Heisenberg mech fight followed by Call of Duty: Lycan Edition
I liked it, but it was wonky. I'd put it in lower-middle tier out of the RE games I've played. Definitely disappointing overall.
All of those things are cool I want more of that in future games
>Jill and Sherry are immortal
>Claire is probably in her 50’s like Chris
Why did Capcom do this?
So he become Big Chris
Depressed stoic Chris is best Chris
Don't worry, in RE9 he'll be in his 70's and I imagine Claire will be as well. The game has like a 18-20 year timeskip at the end of Village. Rose even mentions Chris at the end of the game, so he's still alive.
>Out of the way, you old hag
>jill is in her 60s
>still looks 30 thanks to Wesker
>capcom still refuses to use her over Chris
you know damn well that if Jill returns that she'll be relegated to support like Hunnigan while we play as punished Chris
RE9 is apparently meant to have some detective as the main protagonist. But I could see them bringing back Claire/Jill or Chris like in RE8
to be honest I don't care for NuJill even less now that they are being lazy and reused her RE3R model, clothes and all, for the new movie set in 18 years later
LOOKS AT THOSE BOOBS
>in RE9 he'll be in his 70's
damn i can't wait to play as a roided out depressed old man with smoker lungs and kidney failure.
That's just MGS4
>That's just MGS4
>wesker returns somehow
>one final fight between Chris and Wesker
>it's a fist fight
>they randomly kiss during the fight before Chris wins
that would actually be kino, gay but kino. copying MGS would honestly be better than whatever Capcom could manage to pull out their ass,
Wouldn’t be gay since it would likely be Alex
Is claire being a hag Kino or shitty?
Isn't that Alex Wesker?
why is she wearing that WEF NWO pin?
Is Capcom trying to warn us
Imagine Chris and Natalia passionately kissing in the middle of a fist fight
Chris is 64 by the time of the DLC and the epilogue
Alright, 64, whatever. He'd be considered old is my point. I wonder what he'll look like, hell I wonder what Leon would look like or what became of him, if he didn't commit suicide.
I guess I shouldn't feel bad for Leon but I do, the man had a hard life, Chris did as well, but Leon turned to the bottle. Leon just wanted to be a police officer, and look what became of his life, he didn't ask for it.
They aren't going to follow the DLC storyline
Yeah capcom made Shadows of Rose to end the Winters storyline, I feel like RE9 will be a final swan song/sendoff to Resident Evil before they completely reboot the series with REX
Then explain the mysterious silhouette at the end of the game, who was confirmed to be Ethan Winters I just figured RE9 was suppose to pick up after the events of the RE8, or I figured Rose would be the protagonist or something.
Seems retarded to just write that all off and make RE9 a completely new story with a new protagonist, unless they're going to connect this new story/protagonist to the old protagonists and story material.
They told you at the end of the game that his story is finished. Nothing more to add to his story. He saved his wife and daughter and sacrificed himself for them. Rose can't carry a game all on her own as she isn't very interesting. All she wants is to live a normal life.
I don't understand why Ethan shows up at the end but it's pretty stupid and it undermines the sacrifice he made.
>All she wants is to live a normal life.
Soo does her father and look what happened.
The post credit scene of RE8 already have a bette potential of story than everything the old cast can offer.
>We know the hound wolf squad got Rose
>She have a sniper aimed on her head if she doesnt behave and do missions for then
This is already a better potential than any story about classic character saving the world once again from the whatever virus got created at this point.
>It undermines the sacrifice he made.
Ethan sacrifice is already undermined due to Chris and Mia being Shitty parents to Rose.He of all people have a good excuse o come back and slap some sense in those two.
Capcom already dial back to stupid decisions...might not be RE9 but RE10 or another spin off is possible from then to return.
>They aren't going to follow the DLC storyline
implying they have it planned out and arent just making shit up on a game per game basis
if they werent planning to fallow through they wouldnt have made the DLC with a timeskip, the only reason they would do it is if they wanted to wipe the slate clean and do a soft reboot
they will decide only based off the reception of RE8, RE4 remake and the DLC
RE9 will be called Resident Evil HELIX (IX being the 9)
>set on a university campus
>Rebecca and Sherry are the protags
>uses the Route A/Route B format from 2 and brings back the zapping system
>monster designs are based on plants, lots of tree bark, vines, sap, etc
>villains are a professor at the university and three of his students who he radicalized
When are they going to get their own game
I know original re8 was supposed to be about them but I’m really surprised we have not got a houndwolf dlc at least. It’s prefect for one you could make them operating in the village just slightly ahead of Ethan. I enjoyed always finding their camps and thinking about what they could have been doing why can’t we get this?
is the middle one supposed to be Troy Baker?
No, it's better than 7 but thats it
7 > 4 > 1 GameCube > Everything else
I misread this post as
>Literally the easiest Resident Evil game
Which I wholeheartedly agree with.
Chris not just telling Ethan what was happening was so stupid.
>Didn't get sexy werewolf Chris
worst RE game for that alone
re2make is much more consistent. so is re4. i prefer 7 to village as well.
Was strange that the game got way easier the further you got. It wasn't that you got better, or you found a new item/weapon that made it too easy, it just kind of slowly died as you progressed.
They just removed all the werewolves about halfway through the game. All you were left with were a slow single zombie here, a meme boss there, and a 'shoot the glowey' drill guy every now and then.
Doesn't have to be "action", it just seemed anticlimactic. Had they started with retard punching zombies and worked up to the werewolves being like the hunters of the game, I would have liked the pacing more.
