>techlet doesn't realize how expensive FPGAs are
This device isn't meant for you anon. It can't even do savestates in many cases. Specialist hardware is ALWAYS going to be expensive.
what the frick do you mean I don't realize how expensive they are, in fact I made fun of how expensive they are.
I wish I could sit you autists in a room with three setups to blind AB test mister, emulation, and console, and have you fail miserably
No, you seem to think $450 for a device that has a $250 FPGA is expensive. You don't even know what an FPGA is and probably think it's something about video games.
Just stick to consoles.
Isn't the whole gimmick with this thing that it isn't emulation and it runs on "gayPigga" cores?
Hardware emulation is still emulation, it just happens to be more accurate by default.

Why the frick did Ganker convert my webm to a png?

It's not a new or novel concept but in this case we are talking about mister, which is for videogames, and you nerds overpaying for what can be effectively emulated at a fraction of the price.
And for the same price you can buy a goddamn computer or even a laptop that emulates just as well, if not better, than any fpga solution.
The only good use for fpga is handhelds, something limited by power draw and form factor.
Telling me fpga is worth it is like trying to explain to me an expensive mechanical watch is better than a cheapo battery one, it's cool and I appreciate the effort put in but it's effectively useless in the modern landscape

why is hardware emulation more accurate by default?
Reminder that Ganker allows interested parties to purchase advertising packages that allow for them to create advertisements disguised as legitimate threads, such as this one. Ganker does not disclose this to its users in any way.
Threadly reminder that the MiSTer Sister Fisters shills you this hardware "accurate" product for $500 without telling you it has issues like a software emulator does.
I just use pic related to downscale the signal to 240p and use it on my CRT TV. A recycled office PC with emulators is all I need to play old gen games and arcades.
My favourite FPGA moment was when matthewmatosis spent an entire stream extolling the virtues of FPGA's and talking absolute shite about how they are supposedly superior to emulators (because he heard frank cifaldi say so).
Then his FPGA crashed while he was streaming alien soldier and he had to hook it up to the internet and update it.
>Ganker hates the MiSTer >Ganker refuses to consider any emulation handheld that isn't the PSP/Vita/3DS >Ganker hates original hardware because you either have to collect games for it or buy a flashcart (or equivalent device)
I'm starting to get the impression that Ganker are just a bunch of poorgays who hate anyone who can spend money.
An FPGA device that is part of an open source project. The goal being cycle accurate emulation of old game consoles and computers. It sometimes achieves that goal, depending on the quality of the core. This guy has a good explanation of the benefits of FPGA over software emulation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMMiBEhnizE
Not really worth worrying about for most people, but I like mine.
FPGA is kinda a meme because people are convinced that FPGA cores are magical not-software software. In reality they have bugs and theoretical idealism doesn't actually trump long iterative refinement of traditional software emulators.
Shut up, Black person.
not a paid shill btw
Buy an ad.
people pay over 500 dollars to pretend that a 50$ pi can't emulate games well enough
Can't hook a Pi up to a CRT without it looking like dogshit.
>over 500 dollars
It only cost me $450 shipped though, and I could have saved $100 if I had built it myself.
>it only cost me 450
do you people even listen to yourselves?

60hz output.
60hz output.
You can output 15hz
You can output at native game res and framerate, 15Khz or 31Khz
poorgay cope + complete emutroony zealotry
sort of like how when you see a Steam Deck thread it’s 60% tendie seethe and shitposting

cope
I Don't need FPGA Emulation.
I just use pic related to downscale the signal to 240p and use it on my CRT TV. A recycled office PC with emulators is all I need to play old gen games and arcades.
It's for "shit nobody cares about enthusiasts".
>caring about any of this shit
There is no real, true benefit to anything other than software emulation with no homosexual shaders.
Kek boomers be like look at this small black box that lets me play old ass beep boop "games" roflllll
I really doubt it's boomers
Boomers didn't play video games. It's a shitty meme
No one should care about playing Mario 1% more accurately enough to pay a huge premium for it

I don't. I just don't need one because I have computers.
what is that thing?
I'm not into emulation but I've seen this thread popping from time to time. Is it like an all in one emulator or something?

if you're this autistic about emulating games that came out before you were fricking born you deserve to be out $500 bones
