I've only put a couple hours in but for one it feels a lot more evenly spread between pve and pvp and is honestly way less complicated overall (so far). Already I noticed the games versions of gpus to mine currency is set up fast as shit and the gun customization is less obtuse if you aren't a gungay. It's just easier to pick up

The reason why people don't even buy it in the first place is because its PvP. It's like PUBG on crack. Instead of only investing 30 minutes of your time looting, you're possibly investing days of looting on a single death if someone kills you which is way more grief than just losing 30 minutes of your time.
PvE is the way to go.

I play that and it’s vastly superior to the multiplayer vanilla. You can tweak it harder or easier to however you like it, keep the ai from acting like magdumping players by trying to outmaneuver you instead, you can mod in more guns, balance meta builds out of the game, etc.
SPTARKOV is literally a community that sprung up to fix Battle State’s game FOR them.

I think wipes would happen still in the future, unless they get rid of flea completely and the game is full map only. Can't just do Customs, you have to load into the full world ala DayZ with no raid timers.

The only reason PvP FPS games even exist is because people are too naïve to know just how many cheaters there are. You can count just about any FPS game to have at least 5% cheaters, so in a 20 player match there will be on average a cheater. Tarkov has anywhere between 20-50% cheaters depending on what point in the wipe etc. Most of these are radarhacks/wallhacks. some are very subtle aimbots (e.g. headmagnet etc), but cheats nonetheless. This doesn't take into account the people who frick with their postprocessing or screen settings, which isn't TECHNICALLY cheating, but effectively is since it can turn night-time maps into almost daytime. Don't you love hiding in a pitch black corner only for someone 50m away to snipe you like you were standing under a spotlight?
There are videos out there (BSG will DMCA them ASAP though) showing people with radarhacks wiggling at others in labs through 5 walls and about 1 in 3 wiggling back. Labs is the cheater hotspot of course but it's not much better elsewhere.
By the way, the wiggle is the cheater way of recognizing each-other, wiggle randomly and you might convince a cheater to avoid you. This rarely works on labs however as it's free-for-all in there, but most of them abide by this code of honour on other maps.

The clean slate sort of shakes up progress and forced people to fall back to sub-optimal weapons and builds. It also makes it so the stuff you loot is more varied cause people still need everything instead of just a few specific high value items.
Also if you get a headstart on the earlygame of the reset you outgear the majority of the player and you can stomp them with the difference in gear level. It puts the noobs back at noob gear level so you can stomp them more easily
If there was no reset it'd stagnate and die. Same concept as games like PoE or anything with a matchmaking system (in a different, but not altogether unfamiliar way)
