the fact that the batch of cross-gen evolutions (tangrowth, porygon-z, yanmega..etc) are not available until postgame means there is no reason to play these over platinum
I like them. Not as good as platinum but still unironically good, it does what it does and it does it better than the other games in the series even if it's overall worse.

The games play pretty good on a flashcart. Save almost instantly and run great. Platinum is still better though.

Replayed Pearl not to long ago and forgot how bad the pacing was.
