>How the hell a diary counts as armor is the real question.
That's possibly the dumbest part, they censor it but they don't change it into an item instead. With the context, finding the diary in the wardrobe and then it being an armour piece instead of an item just tips you off that something's wrong. And it's not like it has value as armour anyway since it has worse defence than your starting gear. Feels like this was a last minute change.
Squeenix's """"""""""ethics department"""""""""" most likely, ever since they fell to the western market meme they've been making dumbfrick decisions like making it
>Anon says a book being armor "tips you off that something I wrong" when diary/bible/sentimental pocket watch stopping a fatal bullet was a popular WW2 anecdote and was used excessively in 1950s/60s Westerns.
Please, for the love of God, gain some media literacy if you think equipping a book in a shootout is weird.

a bible sure, but not a diary

The cliche was literally any emotionally charged, sentimental item with heft or density. Hence watches, hence diaries, hence locket with photo of family, etc. The cliche was so globally recognized that JJBA did a goof on it with Jotaro being saved from a knife to the heart by his volumes of Weekly Shonen Jump (since he loves it more than anything) back in the early 90s.
It's very obvious what they're going for. Acting like it's an unreasonable item to see in that context is ridiculous.

>Saying "why would a book be armor" is goddamn stupid.
Even your example is fricking stupid because a book would be held in a shirt or a jacket which is the actual chest armor, making the book an accessory. Making a book a chest armor is akin to gluing a book to your bare chest.
>How the hell a diary counts as armor is the real question.
Stuff it under the shirt as padding.
Pretty sure you can use the frying pan like that as well.
In context to Oersted's chapter clearly not being selectable from the beginning compared to the other 7 when you start the game, I guess. The title doesn't really spoil anything.
>shows off almost every final boss >show off the existence of Oersted's chapter >show off an absolute frickton of the final chapter
Man I hope anyone who hasn't played the original avoids these or can just forget all of it.
Oh my fricking god, I have fallen for this TWICE now. I preorded Chrono Chross and this, assuming there would, of course, not be any censorship in the Japanese versions. Lo and behold, they're both fricking pozzed. Just frick my tight little boipucci. I think I'm done buying Square shit.
Caveman is a simple story, but it's a good starting chapter as it's pretty much just a straight forward chapter with no gimmicks beyond the crafting. Plus even some secret stuff.
I started with it too and I think it's not a great chapter to start with. The gimmick of no dialogue and everything being expressed through gestures and emotes since they're cavemen is cool but I'd have preferred to start with a chapter that had actual dialogue.
I think the only other chapters that work as someone's first chapter would either be Near Future or Kung Fu.
Kung Fu is still simple enough, has some combat throughout, and the only gimmick to learn is more about minmaxing than anything else.
Near Future is second or third chapter with the most consistent combat after Caveman and Ninja, and also doesn't really have any gimmicks beyond mind reading and some optional stuff.
I started with a chapter that had actual dialogue and this is what I got. I guess I would've enjoyed the caveman chapter more since it's not like they can localise gestures. Right?
well its either that or Gideon Zhi’s bullshit from the mid 2000’s. I know at least the Edo Japan chapter had some messed up lines in the fan translation.
From what I remember the fan translation is mostly literal to a fault but also has some blatant mistranslations in the sense of failure to understand Japanese rather than intentional rewrites. But it could certainly also have rewrites that I didn't notice.
i think its mostly misinterpretations and not understanding some of the more "nuanced" and vague lines.
For example, Masaru is not supposed to be saying his name here. It's supposed to be the guy challenging him from offscreen. It is a very understandable mistake, but a mistake nonetheless.
i'm not familiar with the game myself but either
a) the character in question is underage, trying to strip any sort of sexual connotations
b) the act of a male protagonist thumbing through a females garments is problematic (but somehow a diary is okay?)
c) it was a genuine mistake that passed by qc (because again, it's just strange not actually offensive)
>b) the act of a male protagonist thumbing through a females garments is problematic (but somehow a diary is okay?)
This is the best answer, and also the remake is basically shot for shot with the original just with overhauled visuals, so they didn't make any changes whatsoever to the events that let you acquire it.
Because is fricking derailing shitposting and sadly a very effective one. That homosexual doesn't even care about the subject, they only want to destroy the thread.

I don't give a damn what troons do to the English slop for western players; messing with Japanese scripts like this is too far. Let's keep moving goalposts to excuse the censorship of old media. I know you can't help yourself and need to justify your desire to consoom, but self-censorship of this kind just shows a lack of integrity that shouldn't be blindly supported.
how is "nightie" to "diary" (yet somehow still a piece of armour) a censorship, slipperyslope schizo?
i'm more willing to write this off as negligence than anything
Yes, I'm sure the devs of the original Japanese script just accidentally made a piece of clothing into a diary, complete with an item description and everything. I could cite just about anything as censorship and you'd still be here coping about it.

Hopefully when the pc version comes someone finds a way to reinsert the AG translation into the game.
But as it is, its not bad at all, infact, oersted's YE OLDE ENGLISHE fits perfectly that world given the nature of the tragedy, like the world is a big ass theatrical play.

Yes anon. And what 火炎瓶 actually means is molotov wienertail, because that's the name we have in the west for what the item is. No one calls a glass full of flammable liquid that you light and throw to make it explode "bottled fire", much like no one calls a movie a "projection picture".

In a zainy game sort of way, it make complete sense but it's still funny to think that you heal from consuming cigars.
>the literal translation is flame bottle
Yes ESL. Both are one and the same
It's still stupid because they weren't fricking invented till like World War 2 and even if the Wild West chapter was set during the near end of the wild west like 1890s, the only incendiary they could've used would have been shit like firecrackers, sticks of dynamite and sulphur smoke bombs (which were actually common at the time).

It's not too unheard of for people setting fire to bottles of flammable liquid especially since this was the wild west where they really had to be creative but then again, most of them would never use it outside of its intended use as a drink because alcohol isn't dirt cheap, so I get what you mean. So yeah, Fire Bottle would have actually been historically more accurate but there's not really anything wrong with calling it a Molotov, both have basically the same meaning

Like you right now. Never spoke on censorship. Just spoke on how some equipment can be equipped to different spots because someone couldn't get their head over equipping the diary to the chest

I'm sure your can name all the slots these items can be equipped too off the top of your head in the next 5 mins. Better include porcelain bowl since too since that would be too easy for you
the real punchline is that there was a lot of stupid fricking armor options in the original, like wearing underwear on your head or using a sword as a shield
Someone said somewhere the .nsp is out and available. Anyone know where to get it easily?
INB4 >If you have to ask, you're ngmi
Frick off, I'm lazy today.
>every thread about Live-a-Live now is going to be nothing but arguments over censorship
Don't know if I prefer this or the over obsession over 'muh ntr'
Ok troonyslator. Honest question: why don't you just go to ResetEra to discuss the game? After all you hate people who bring up censorship and you hate problematic toxic males, so why not go to the forum that suits you?
You need to remember they suffer from a severe mental illness so they are inevitably compelled to argue with people who hate them in some vain attempt to justify their sloppy work product and/or acceptance of the spoonfulls of censored shit they allow, no, in fact, beg to be shoveled into their gullets with each new release.
I legitimately don't see how people can get so mad over literally nothing. Shitty translations/outfit changes won't stop me from playing a good game. The idiots here can't just enjoy and discuss video games, apparently.
Censorship arguments are a good way to derail any discussion because in reality its just an easy way to do so. Its so effective, its what "pop-culture" grifters use to get their daily views for the past 5 years
You should have the right to know if something is censored so you know you're getting an inadequate, doctored, vandalized product. It's fricking vandalism. I know you're probably some Hispanic weirdo in South America where consoom is the way of life, but when you start having standards you start seeing this shit as not acceptable.
There's no argument either, just the usual suspects pretending to argue in bad faith that this is somehow not censorship because of the usual apologist bingo reasons.
Maybe the suppression of art is bad? You bring up manga, but just recently a literal troonylator hired by an official publisher rewrote a manga to be about a transwoman.
I'm merely stating the truth: Its an easy way to derail threads and has been the meta for doing so for years. You can't me prove me wrong on this because I'm right
The only derailment happens from people defending it.

List 1 game in recent memory with localization tampering and censorship where people don't defend it. That's my point, there are no threads where it doesn't happen because its an easy button to press to frick any sort of discussion, good faith or not.

Your point is disingenuous because you're making it out like anyone mentioning censorship is doing it to derail the discussion and not to inform people of censorship.

Its not, and you can't prove me wrong otherwise. Again, list 1 game in recent memory where it didnt happen.

So why do you lay the blame at the people concerned about censorship rather than the people who kneejerkingly defend it at any turn? I'm glad someone brought it up in this thread, it saved me $50. It's on topic anyways.

I'm not blaming anyone, I'm simply stating it as a fact: bringing up censorship attempts, especially for anticipated games are easy avenues to go to if you want to prevent any discussion of the game, simply because 1 party won't give in to the other.

Anonymous
Thinking that this is some conspiracy to prevent discussion of a game for no reason is schizo talk.

Anonymous
Its not a conspiracy because it actually does happen. Whether pointing out censorship is in good faith, or some veiled attempt to shit on a game, it WILL prevent discussion.

What prevents discussion is morons like you crying about people pointing out censorship instead of just talking about the game. There wouldn't be an argument if people didn't defend it.

Point me where Im crying about the people pointing out censorship, I'll wait.
Guess the lesson is not to censor or support games that censor?
The lesson is if you bring up censorship in literally any game, especially for recent titles, threads will crumble.
I'm literally not blaming anyone, I'm not sure why people are getting mad, its been the truth from any game in the past 5 or so years, hell even in the days of the WiiU and 3DS, if you bring up the Fire Emblem and TMS controversy you'll still get outrage

Well yeah, but its still in the spirit of arguing about censorship whether it exists or not, which is exactly my point; its such a hot button topic threads crumble to it quick.
Maybe the suppression of art is bad? You bring up manga, but just recently a literal troonylator hired by an official publisher rewrote a manga to be about a transwoman.
>Guy changes his mind about something 30 years later when making new version of old game. >"Artistic suppression"
You wouldn't say a damn thing if it became a bra instead.
Because they were hunting any shit to get mad at
Before release was the usual
"game looks bad,ntr game, it will be shit"
So now that it is confirmed being great they have to start going schizo over censorship in these threads
I swear it's the same morons every thread defending blatant censorship with any kind of dogshit sophistry their 2 brain cells can muster. If it's changed from the original and doesn't provide any QOL difference, then it's censorship, plain and simple. You don't need some advanced guidebook for that.
This games use of 2dhd is REALLY underwhelming
looks worse than octopath let alone triangle strategy

>Nice 2D pixelart ruined by tumblr portraits
everytime
That definitely looks closer to what the potential of this style is. Octo, Tri and now this all would have looked better normal 2D (at a good quality like crosscode). Instead they need excessive blur and bloom to cover up a cheap looking 3d gimmick
I want to see how that DQIII is going to look like
DQ is the most precious and dangerous game they could choose
Japanese people would kill them if they frick it up
>we've reverted to 90's censorship >it's done by the people who grew up with shitty 90's censorship this time
Somehow this feels worse than when boomer Christians did it.
Most of the original script is kept in tact. There are minor changes across the different chapters but for some reason the american wild west chapter has notably more changes than the others
There’s a shitton of voicelines/variations for the Present Day chapter. There’s multiple “defeat” quotes from the bosses, which is unnecessary but cool.
two woman’s clothing items were changed to different items(applies to all versions). Dialogue is different in translations(it literally always is). Otherwise nothing seems toned down. I’d argue there’s more swearing now than in the fan translation, which is a surprise.
>I’d argue there’s more swearing now than in the fan translation, which is a surprise.
It's not a surprise though. troonyslators think characters saying "Frick" over and over is edgy and cool. Look how often Leon said it in the RE2 remake when I don't remember him saying anything like that in the original game. They fill games with obscenities while getting rid of anything that might even remotely be considered appealing to straight males
Seriously?
Because all Pogo says during the final chapter is 'Love' and so if they actually did that then all he'd be saying at the end is 'Aiee' when it's actually important that he just says Love.
The people defending them are their weirdo followers from ResetEra/Twitter or just anons who finna shitpost and get a rise out of anons who care about this topic, simple as, fr fr, no cap.
The panties thing I kinda get (if though I don't agree with it) but the other stuff is more stupid because it's more appropriate for a western setting.
One thing I find personally stupid is the localization of the Kung Gu chapter attacks. Why not just localize the chink names? Xuan Ya Lian Shan Quan sounded way better and less awkward than Heavenly Peak's Decent.
Downloading now; I watched Vinesauce stream a bit of the demo and it seemed interesting.
I'm torn between starting with Present Day, Near Future, or Ancient China. Are any of the characters way harder than the others?
I'd say Ancient China is a good starting point, decent balance between combat and story. Present Day is combat focused, only 7 fights in total. Near Future is alright too but might be confusing.
I forgot that I had played the Demo beforehand, so China chapter should be around 1 hour 45 minutes. The whole game is around 20 hours, some chapters are longer than others: Edo Japan>Prehistory>Near Future>Imperial China>Distant Future>Wild West>Present Day
>behemoth actually made me jump as I almost walked right into it
Not bad. Still probably could been retooled to be a bit more involved and random though.
>all the sensible people have left the thread already and the schizo is left larping as his opponents, intentionally botching and misrepresenting their arguments until the thread hits bump limit
many such cases

The character you train gets a stat boost depending on the arena type and a chance to inherit a move from shifu earlier than they would learn it with natural level ups
>There will never be an Evil a Evil where you play as villains and antiheroes >Final chapter is a reverse where your super evil dude decides to become a hero >Defeat powered up versions of all the previous chapter MCs
actually, it was the kings fault for starting live a live for making the winner of the tournment marry alethea when Streibough and Alethea had a relationship, but Oersted then had to third wheel into the relationship.
but he resulted in streiborough's meltdown resulting in a chain of events leading up to Odio
it is possible that Odio was always a being separate from Oersted, remember that the demon lord Hash fought in the past was way different from gargoyle dude.
the theory here would be
>Oersted and Straybow get their duel >Straybow jealous becomes another vessel for Odio, and somehow (SOMEHOW being the keyword here, i know this is hard to believe things went THAT fast.) sets the kidnapping of Alicia up. >the tragedy happens >the moment Oersted gave into despair, it was when Odio jumped from Straybow's corpse to him. >in the remake, once Oersted was defeated, Odio threw a last gambit by doing what he did. but he didnt expected Oersted would regain his conscience at the last minute.
Well, everyone talks how octopath has a bad story
So it is not like you are weird for thinking that
Live a live is smaller and people talk how it is good
Why can't translators just do their jobs without unnecessary changes? Why do publishers need tailor their work for people that won't even consume their product? It's stupid that we've gotten to the point that racist depictions in media are muted, or outright removed--why can't the black hating antagonist say "Black person"? I know the counter arguments, but don't age ratings help to ensure that those impressionable people aren't viewing said media? These days I'm convinced that "uppity" would be seen as incredibly racist given its roots etc., etc. It's all so fricking tiresome.
dear lord, has nobody here seen the thing? i havent even seen the movie/movies and even I know about that franchise!
fricking amogus shit, the moment i found official squishy toys of those astronaut frickers on my nearby 7-11 in FRICKING MONTERREY, NL, MEXICO! i knew that shit went WAY too far.

thank lord i DID managed to get the no-kill run, but still i'm still fricking confused.
the fact that i just got to the ending so out of nowhere. i mean obviously a room guarded by some buckethead motherfrickers was gonna be important, but i didnt expected to be THAT important, as in 'the end of the story' important, if anything, i thought i was barely halfway thru.

I mean, it's the last floor of the last building in the castle, it's obvious that the final boss is going to be there
how in the hell does a minor character from a short lasting game become so popular? it's like when you create something new for a game, it's a hit and suddenly merchandise appears.
Just beat the game. New final boss was cool. I'm glad it doesn't really change the story and just adds a bit of extra stuff to the climax. As much as I feel for Oersted, giving him a happy ending would spoil the themes of the story
>only piece of crossover art between Chrono Trigger and Live-a-Live
At least that I've seen. But man there should be more. Especially with Pogo/Ayla and Robo/Cube.
i think i'll wait for Crono to get in smash first before we get an HD2D version of CT. replayed a bit of it last night. I literally maxxed out every stat but evasion and accuracy since you can't make them double stars. wow.....i really went the mile a decade ago.
i like the voice acting
i think i lived to see the definitive edition
they do that but let Great Aja say Motherfricker, even if its bleeped out. Oh well. We all know what the item really is. How the hell a diary counts as armor is the real question.
Squeenix's """"""""""ethics department"""""""""" most likely, ever since they fell to the western market meme they've been making dumbfrick decisions like making it
Are you seriously asking why a sentimental item would serve as protection in a Spaghetti Western?
Have you ever consumed media outside of video games? This is one of the oldest shootout cliches around.
>anon completely ignores the context of what the item was before it was changed
>Anon says a book being armor "tips you off that something I wrong" when diary/bible/sentimental pocket watch stopping a fatal bullet was a popular WW2 anecdote and was used excessively in 1950s/60s Westerns.
Please, for the love of God, gain some media literacy if you think equipping a book in a shootout is weird.
a bible sure, but not a diary
imagine being this culturally ignorant
>anon misrepresents what was said
>With the context, finding the diary in the wardrobe and then it being an armour piece instead of an item just tips you off that something's wrong.
You can't cut out half of a complete sentence and pretend that you didn't change the meaning you dickhead.
>In response to
>How the hell a diary counts as armor is the real question.
Both of you homosexuals acted like a book being armor for a gun duel was stupid, don't try to back out now.
Acting like it's an unreasonable item to see in that context is ridiculous.
>it's a cliche because i said so
yeah i'm leaving the thread, genuine derangement
>Photo evidence of cliche from its source.
>Cited example of cliche from media contemporary to LAL's original release.
>"D-delusional!"
Seethe. You're so fricking limp dicked that you get mad at the suggestion that the replacement makes sense in context, not even whether replacing it at all was reasonable. Absolutely pathetic. Learn to decouple things when assessing them.
Do these mental gymnastics get tiring?
Yeah, it tips you off that something wrong because it's CHEST ARMOUR you STUPID FRICK
The game has ACCESSORY SLOTS for ACCESSORIES like the Sheriff's badge where a book put in a pocket would actually fit instead of being CHEST ARMOUR
Play the fricking game before jumping into defend censorship you obnoxious prick
>Book over your heart is chest armor
Yes, moron. Good job.
Do you think panties are chest armor?
So you genuinely couldn't read the original after all
It was a chemise not panties you dipshit.
That word has never entered your vocabulary until now
>Jacket is chest armour because it's chest armour
>Shirt is chest armour because it's chest armour
>Chemise is chest armour because it's chest armour
>Sheriff's badge is not chest armour because it's an accessory
>Diary is not chest armour because it's an accessory and not a fricking piece of clothing you wear on your upper body
Also
>panties
Good job reinforcing that you not only didn't play the game, you also jumped into this conversation to defend censorship without even reading the very first post showing what was censored. Or maybe you're an actual illiterate moron who doesn't even know what a fricking chemise is and actually thought it was panties.
>You never played this game because you do not remember [context that is not relevant to argument] and skimmed the thread for context.
I downloaded it off AGTP back before Cave Story even had a + version you homosexual zoomer. I'm not defending censorship. I'm saying a diary as an equppable piece of armor makes perfect sense in the wild west scenario and saying it doesn't is fricking ridiculous.
You c**ts are so busy tripping over your need for a villain to get angry at that you're saying nonsense. There's nothing wrong with saying this replacement is a stupid change. Saying "why would a book be armor" is goddamn stupid.
>How the hell a diary counts as armor is the real question. The ol bible in the coat pocket stopping a bullet

Is 1:01 a spoiler?
it's just the time periods and the chapter names, anon
In context to Oersted's chapter clearly not being selectable from the beginning compared to the other 7 when you start the game, I guess. The title doesn't really spoil anything.
>shows off almost every final boss
>show off the existence of Oersted's chapter
>show off an absolute frickton of the final chapter
Man I hope anyone who hasn't played the original avoids these or can just forget all of it.
How are those spoilers? You also need context there!
To anyone who doesnt know shit, all those 'spoilers' are just random images.
I just downloaded the leaked version, how does it emulate?
The graphics in the chapter select screen are bugged but it's been fine otherwise so far.
Show me the back of the physical box please!

I forgot to test what happens when you give Bel a piece of equipment she can equip instead of the meat.
If you specifically give her a fertility statue, she fricks you.
Oh my fricking god, I have fallen for this TWICE now. I preorded Chrono Chross and this, assuming there would, of course, not be any censorship in the Japanese versions. Lo and behold, they're both fricking pozzed. Just frick my tight little boipucci. I think I'm done buying Square shit.
>spics replying on Ganker
Projection.
Just finished the caveman story as my first chapter. Pretty underwhelming start.
Caveman is a simple story, but it's a good starting chapter as it's pretty much just a straight forward chapter with no gimmicks beyond the crafting. Plus even some secret stuff.
Unga squad
Reminder that Lei is best girl of the cast!
It is a very understandable mistake, but a mistake nonetheless.
the mariachis were my favorite part FRICK
>changing an article of clothing into a "diary"
but for what purpose?
Just like a negligee "hides the secrets" of your body, a diary "hides the secrets" of your feefees.
that sounds awfully nuanced, surely this can't just be written off as some mistake?
it's not even offensive on either side, just odd
It was a joke. I have absolutely no clue why they decided to rename it specifically as a diary.
i'm not familiar with the game myself but either
a) the character in question is underage, trying to strip any sort of sexual connotations
b) the act of a male protagonist thumbing through a females garments is problematic (but somehow a diary is okay?)
c) it was a genuine mistake that passed by qc (because again, it's just strange not actually offensive)
>b) the act of a male protagonist thumbing through a females garments is problematic (but somehow a diary is okay?)
This is the best answer, and also the remake is basically shot for shot with the original just with overhauled visuals, so they didn't make any changes whatsoever to the events that let you acquire it.
Why did the jannies delete this? What rule was broken?
i assume because it's derailing the thread about the video game with some drummed up conspiratorial meta drama bullshit
Because is fricking derailing shitposting and sadly a very effective one. That homosexual doesn't even care about the subject, they only want to destroy the thread.
>It's inconceivable that anyone who plays video games cares about something I don't care about
You are cancer.
>Participating in or instigating a flamewar.
Is Kid's VA Ootsuka Akio?
Yeah. They went all out with the Japanese VAs.
In Japanese the top right picture says "Annie's Diary" though.
Now look at the bottom half of the image.
That's the point. The Japanese version has been censored as well, which is the only thing that matters and what makes this a travesty.
lol holy shit japan truly has fallen to the ethics department
ESG score investing has no borders
It's disgusting but I'm glad I lived before this all happened
They're coming for everything and you know it.
But..if even the Japanese version is censored, why is it still armor? Why not at least change it to a key item? This just reeks of laziness.
>why was the useless armor replaced with a useless armor?
A chemise is something you can wear at least.
When's the last time you wore a book?
How many posts now have been spent trying to ignore the "saved by an important book" archetype
How many posts now have been spent trying to cope with the "saved by an important book" archetype and justify censorship?

Yeah and you said the diary can go in the chest slot when it can't, you dipshit.
>A BOOK!!! ISN'T!!!! CHEST ARMOR!!!! *blasts all the furniture against the walls with telekinesis*
I accept your concession.
The diary is shown being able to be equipped to the chest piece
moron.
It's not an accessory though. It goes in the chest slot because it's chest armour. It's not an accessory that you can also equip in the chest slot, it's chest armour that can't be equipped in the accessory slot.
Why does this matter in the slightest and why should I give a shit
>Why does it matter that Square is now kowtowing to trannies in the original Japanese script instead of just letting them pozz up the EOP localization?
You know the answer.
Thankfully this seems to be a mostly Square-exclusive practice for now as far as I can tell. Or rather, there have been plenty of recent Japanese releases that retain off-color jokes much "worse" than this.
Again, who fricking gives a shit other than you
You should be outraged if anything is changed, ever.

God damn it; I might have to actually pick LaL up now.
It's a weird change since Prehistory still ends with the implied fricking but you weren't going to buy the game anyway if this changed your mind.
>you weren't going to buy the game anyway if this changed your mind
Missed the part literally in the post you quoted where I said I preordered the game. It's released, therefore it's shipped, therefore I bought the fricking game. God forbid someone have principles. I don't give a damn what troons do to the English slop for western players; messing with Japanese scripts like this is too far. Just saying I'll be careful about buying Square releases from now on if they're going to censor benign stuff like this.
What is a woman?
Oh no, they changed an item from panties to a diary. This surely ruins all of Live a Live's story
Let's keep moving goalposts to excuse the censorship of old media. I know you can't help yourself and need to justify your desire to consoom, but self-censorship of this kind just shows a lack of integrity that shouldn't be blindly supported.
how is "nightie" to "diary" (yet somehow still a piece of armour) a censorship, slipperyslope schizo?
i'm more willing to write this off as negligence than anything
feel free to provide more examples of the censorship however, i'm genuinely curious.
Yes, I'm sure the devs of the original Japanese script just accidentally made a piece of clothing into a diary, complete with an item description and everything. I could cite just about anything as censorship and you'd still be here coping about it.
no i wouldn't. you see how this works, anon. you need to build a case of evidence that would lead someone to believe this is true. this however, is hardly compelling evidence.
>a Japanese script change in a game from a publisher that also changed the Japanese script of ANOTHER recent re-released game (Chrono Cross) in order to remove references to "gendered language"
So I guess that was an oversight too? The pattern is obvious here. You're either being willfully obtuse or you don't pay attention to video games.
you are being acutely dense if you somehow are trying to make this a case of guilt by association. a publisher is not a production team. you need to look at each case and make a proper evaluation and not allow your judgement to be clouded by bias.
like i said i'm willing to move on this if i am given more evidence.
for example, i find this to be pretty obnoxious
and negligent on the english side. but this does not further your accusation that the japanese side was censored as well.
Nothing I could show you could prove to you that the Japanese side was censored, because you're an EOP and can just claim ignorance. Sure, I could dig up that Chrono Cross screenshot, but you can't even read it. This isn't guilt by association you dumb frick, it's the same fricking party making similar script changes.
ah, but you fricked up anon. i asked for the evidence because, i'm very much -not- an EOP. i could proceed to post screenshots i have taken over the last 8 years of games i've played in japanese but that's not the crux of what we're discussing here, much in the same way you continue to bring up chrono cross.
'the same fricking party', again please demonstrate the staff list from both games and show the overlap for this to be true otherwise stop bringing up irrelevant bullshit.
i say all this as someone who is acutely familar with the troonyslations that have been occurring over the years. the integrity of source material is why i originally took up learning the language myself so many years ago.
>i asked for the evidence because, i'm very much -not- an EOP.
Then you should be able to read
you disingenuous c**t.
>i asked for the evidence because, i'm very much -not- an EOP
LOL ok, then you can read the first screenshot. We're done here. We both know this isn't the case and now you're trying to save face on an anonymous image board for some reason. You've not only displayed a complete misunderstanding of what a publisher's role is - particularly for their in-house IPs - but also a failure to read the Japanese script you claim to be able to. Sometimes I forget I'm literally arguing with teenagers on this website.
>the first screenshot
the top row is the same, in both english and japanese "annie's diary"
the bottom row is the same, in both english and japanese. "annie's chemise"
as to why this change was made, is not clear. as i've seen numerous times, it seems more negligent to me than an intention towards censorship. i asked you to provide more evidence suggesting that would lead me to believe that the original source material has been censored in the remake for BOTH japanese and english, as it "has" been in this screenshot. i'm not really interested in discussing this further if you cannot engage with this basic request.
>The censorship and the shitty localisation rewrites are separate problems.
thanks for arguing my exact point
>as to why this change was made, is not clear. as i've seen numerous times, it seems more negligent to me than an intention towards censorship.
Square Enix has an ethics department now. Wouldn't be surprised if every game has to go through them now.
>as to why this change was made, is not clear. as i've seen numerous times, it seems more negligent to me than an intention towards censorship
You're so fricking dishonest.
then what does that make you? i already listed the possibilities earlier
Not him but the Japanese script changes are from/to
Annie Chemise/Annie's Diary
Cigar/Dried meat
Tequila/Smelling salts
Molotov wienertail/Molotov wienertail
>Molotov wienertail/Molotov wienertail
no... it can't be.......
I couldn't get bourbon's because the kanji is too small to read in the earlier image itt but I already posted the English localization changes
Pozzed garbage. Glad to see the Ethics Dept is dipping into script rewrites.
>The slippery slope isn't re-
Progressives armed corporations with a censorship apparatus that is now changing content even outside the scope of social justice. Even tequila and cigars aren't safe anymore.
>Even tequila and cigars aren't safe anymore.
Back to the 90s we go
Got you covered
He'll ignore it like the homosexual he is lmao. Squaresoft merging with Enix was a mistake, Sakaguchi should've been the president instead of Wada.
i already established why bringing up chrono cross is irrelevant,
please stay on topic or stop shitting up the thread with irrelevant bullshit
So you are a homosexual then, good to know.
>
if not for the merger square's dumbass would have gone bankrupt long ago
>square's dumbass would have gone bankrupt long ago
Bull fricking shit. Square's shareholders were fricking homosexuals and Wada weaseled his way and made everything worse. Now we have Matsuda chasing GaaS and NFT money and executives trying to frick over developers like Tokita.
>this does not further your accusation that the japanese side was censored as well.
Are you fricking blind? It's in the very first image.
you misunderstand. there are two accusations here:
one) BOTH the japanese and english game have been censored for this remake.
two) the english translation is pozzed western homosexuals turning it into their own personal fanfiction
You're actually illiterate. No one claimed that the censorship was a localisation change, and the post you quoted with the localisation comparison does not make any such claim. The censorship and the shitty localisation rewrites are separate problems.
>two) the english translation is pozzed western homosexuals turning it into their own personal fanfiction
seems more like that one yea
It's the first one
It's both
>you need to build a case of evidence
The case has been building for years
>panties
If you don't love panties, you are not a man.
>panties
moron
I can understand the issue, but to me the only censorship that matters are ones that actually effect the story. If the main story is in tact, that's all that really matters.
An EOP would have to say that to be able to play video games with a clear conscience, so I get it.
Using Annie Frank's diary to protect myself from weaponry
>waiting for the PC port
>but also want a physical version
Guess I'll have to wait for the ps4 version
just beat Present Day and it was fricking awesome
>there's now voiced lines for the Watanabe event
>in the final battle, Masaru has new attacking lines when using the techniques from the other fighters to pay tribute to them
soul
I'm annoyed they removed Max Morgan's stache in the portrait but it's preserved in the spirite. Even with the stache he's legally distinct enough from hulk hogan. Now it's just inconsistent.
I'll probably get it soon
For any latelets to the previous thread https://mega.nz/file/c4NwgBoB#IHwMCE1U65g8wp37o3wDyUIdhvz0Lx6floIH_JKofPw
Posting it
>not using the old boxart
>remake boxart
>mspaint rescaling
>Not posting another Squaresoft RPG and instead posting a Nintendo RPG
>this fricking part where you play as every chapter boss and can fricking obliterate the universe if you get low on health
this game is sick
NSP where?
like three days ago on the usual websites
Oh. Could you spoonfeed me?
just google live a live xci
Molotov wienertail, cigars, bourbon and tequila have all been censored to shit like bottled fire, jerky, miracle tonic, herbal tiniment
The mariachi on the right of the bar asks you if you want tequila when you talk to him at the start. I didn't think about any of the other stuff though.
Seriously? Fricking dropped.
>bottled fire
Conjuring fire from a bottle like a flamethrower
>jerky
Kid inserts into mouth to heal
>miracle tonic
It does "miracles" to your head
>herbal tiniment
Beverage composed of certain plant life
Hopefully when the pc version comes someone finds a way to reinsert the AG translation into the game.
But as it is, its not bad at all, infact, oersted's YE OLDE ENGLISHE fits perfectly that world given the nature of the tragedy, like the world is a big ass theatrical play.
Do you have proof or are you just lying
NTA but it's real. Sundown's story is the only one i've done so far
Could you post a screenshot? And are these changes in the Japanese version?
which is weird because the characters still swear up a storm and you find horse shit
i don't understand
>cigar and alcohol are now changed to appease the homosexuals
Fricking WHY. WHY CHANGE THAT FRICKING SHIT. FRICK YOU.
Think about the kids
It's weird. You'd expect a woke change like something like Namikats gender in present day but its still male in both languages of the remaster. And then you have the near future chibiko house being localized to Bright Sparks Orphanage.
They weren't called molotov wienertails back then. The rest is shitty though.
They were
>火炎ビン
That's the same in the remake though. What about the others? They were all listed in
The others were changed for the jp remaster. Molotov was kept intact
Oh, I see what you mean.
Yes anon. And what 火炎瓶 actually means is molotov wienertail, because that's the name we have in the west for what the item is. No one calls a glass full of flammable liquid that you light and throw to make it explode "bottled fire", much like no one calls a movie a "projection picture".
That term was coined in 1940. So, is it a translation mistake or the translator sticking to the western theme? RDR calls them fire bottles too.
It's not a translation mistake, it's an anachronism. And you're complaining about an anachronism in a game that isn't even remotely attempting to be historically accurate.
I'm not complaining, just saying there's nothing wrong with what they went with.
Yes I'm a spastic historical accuracy police sue me.
It's a 1994 video game. The chapter has character names that are references to actors and characters from movies of the mid 90's
Clint was obvious but I don't remember any of the others. Was the guy called Gemma meant to be a reference to something?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giuliano_Gemma
>Giuliano Gemma (2 September 1938 – 1 October 2013) was an Italian actor.[1] He is best known internationally for his work in Spaghetti Westerns, particularly for his performances as the title character in Duccio Tessari's A Pistol for Ringo (1965), Captain Montgomery Brown/'Ringo' in Tessari's The Return of Ringo (1965), the title character in Michele Lupo's Arizona Colt (1966), Scott Mary in Tonino Valerii's Day of Anger (1967) and Michael "California" Random in Lupo's California (1977).
>Localisation doesn't catch this and changes his name to James
Bad Day at Black Rock the one film I can even think of that has a Molotov in old-ish America and that's set in 1940s
I mean Molotov wasn't even born yet.
That LITERALLY just translates as Blaze/Fire Bottle you homosexual.
The uninitiated don't know kanji enough to understand that there's no such thing as "Molotov wienertail" equivalent in Japanese and thus the translation team just did a direct translation of it. What's funny is that people are acting like it makes more sense for bourbon, tequila, cigar to be treated as items that heal people instead of the altered terms.
In a zainy game sort of way, it make complete sense but it's still funny to think that you heal from consuming cigars.
>there's no such thing as "Molotov wienertail" equivalent in Japanese
https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%81%AB%E7%82%8E%E7%93%B6
It still just means fire bottle.
>モロトフ・カクテル
This is what they should've used instead of 火炎ビン. Yes, I'm autistic so what?
They probably couldn't fit the kana version in the inventory text boxes
>the literal translation is flame bottle
Yes ESL. Both are one and the same
All this makes me think it's more likely some sort of CERO issue.
So was anything but the pantsu censored?
Just learn to accept anything released in English from Japan is either, pozzed fan fiction or censored and you'll be happier
>accept that things are shit and you'll be happier
don't think that's how it works, guy
Well, since you're not going to bother to learn Japanese and there is zero chance that things change, you should expect it to be shit and stop getting frustrated by it or supporting it. Ergo, you'll be happier.
>If you can't find 500 examples of different things also being censored in this specific game it means this thing that clearly is censored isn't censored
Censorship defender argues in bad faith, more at eleven
Learning Japanese isn't going to help here, try to keep up.
The Japanese script isn't fan fiction, but yes, it is censored.
sorry, weren't you going to enlighten me as to what i missed in the original screenshot?
"bad faith" is rich coming from someone who has been using ad hominem and failing to actually discuss anything of substance
so long as Gynophobia isn't censored nothing else matters
Ryujinx or yuzu for this?
Ryujinx has worked fantastically for me so far, and my rig isn't top tier or anything. Played all 7 of the main chapters without any major problems (occasional chugging)
i never played the OG game but i want to try it
what's the game like? like octopath traveler?
No, LAL is actually good.
There's a ton of variety chapter to chapter. Imagine Chrono Trigger but each new character fused a different game or movie genre with JRPG style.
Survival/horror, fighting, stealth, all kinds of stuff.
Downloading it now.
>damaged by translators or censorship again
Seems every game is like this now.
give them an inch, and they'll take a mile. the world especially entertainment industry is fricked
Alright but is any of Oersted's shit toned down? That's an actual deal breaker if it is
What's the best way to play this if the remake is censored? Doesn't the SNES fan translation also have problems too?
the remake
disregard people inevitably screeching autistically about the script changes and play the original, then the remake
You are a cuck.
>Amazon says it won’t be able to get it to me for a week
>go to four separate brick and mortars in my area
>none of them got any copies
I guess it’s time for piracy
Service problem
is akira still useless in the remake or was the weakness display all he needed to stop sucking?
Aletheabros rise up! She deserves someone like Streighbow instead of a loser like Oersted.
How much value does it have if I've already played the original? Is it just the same but with a new look and voice acting, more or less?
There's a new bossfight
No. It's clearly "Live A Evil"
I pirated it
>decide to train Hong because I haven't done a playthrough with him yet
>teach him Wise Fox's Grace first out of habit
>he's a fricking tank and now has the ability to cripple me
I hope the ethics department at least pays you for this.
i hope you get an argument instead of crying censorship and revealing you're not genre savvy, i'm team "book over the heart"
clint eastwood fricking wept, anon
I accept your concession
>"I'm team censorship"
Yeah, we know are you are, Ethics Internanon
people this eager to complain need shot in the back of the head in terraria
Nice try ESL-kun
"ESL" doesn't mean what you seem to think it does, Resetera crybaby.
You can barely speak English at a functional level, so yes it does.
There's supposed to be a grammatical error before you start being a grammar Nazi, freaking out about bad English skills for a legible sentence is trying way, way, way too hard.
you're really butthurt about it huh? lmfao
???????????????
That would make sense if it were in the accessory slot and not the fricking chest piece.
Maybe? It depends. Putting it in the accessories slot stops you from wearing other accessories with it. If the idea they're going for is no upper armor except the book it makes sense.
Nobody would be splitting hairs if it was used this way in the original release, which us why I think trying to call it out as ill fitting is moronic.
>Putting it in the accessories slot stops you from wearing other accessories with it.
There are 6 accessory slots you absolute moron
What the frick? I remember only having three slots. Holy shit.
The game has a lot of items that can be equipped to either armor or accessory slots
>trap trap trap we need TRAPS
troony game. im out
That must be a thick book
The frying pan is another accessory that can be equipped to the chest slot and the same for the wok to the head and chest piece. Being needlessly autistic over this
>the accessory that is an accessory and not chest armour
Maybe if you keep ignoring that the label is what denotes the problem the problem will stop being a problem
The only label they have is equipment anonchama
>The frying pan is another accessory that can be equipped to the chest slot
You lying frick
My bad I was confused with the wok. Too busy playing the game than being autistic on Ganker
>Jump in to defend censorship when not even knowing what you're talking about and spouting falsehoods
Many such cases.
I'm absolutely in favor of irrelevant censorship like this because it riles up homosexuals like you and I don't care about it
Why are there so many people willing to defend censorship nowadays and why are they so often Nintendie enjoyers?
Why do you respond to yourself, Pass-kun?
Meds, now, moron.
"take ur meds" rhymes with "nail on the head"
>Jump in to defend censorship when *shits myself*
>spouting falsehoods
Like you right now. Never spoke on censorship. Just spoke on how some equipment can be equipped to different spots because someone couldn't get their head over equipping the diary to the chest
>equipping a diary to the chest
That's not what you do with books.
Or they just confused frying pan with wok since they're both metal pans you cook food in.
Fricking autist.
>Anon thinks arguing that he was too dumb to know the difference between a frying pan and a wok was a good argument
I'm sure your can name all the slots these items can be equipped too off the top of your head in the next 5 mins. Better include porcelain bowl since too since that would be too easy for you
>O. Dio can now use his gatling gun in non-diagonal directions
w-we got too wienery sundown bros...
what the frick
the real punchline is that there was a lot of stupid fricking armor options in the original, like wearing underwear on your head or using a sword as a shield
Someone said somewhere the .nsp is out and available. Anyone know where to get it easily?
INB4
>If you have to ask, you're ngmi
Frick off, I'm lazy today.
Not getting scammed by squeenix again.
So will we see a PC release?
show of hands how many of you were keyboard warriors for tifa's chest in FF7 remake and the TWEWY neo localization
>every thread about Live-a-Live now is going to be nothing but arguments over censorship
Don't know if I prefer this or the over obsession over 'muh ntr'
At least 'muh ntr' had people discuss the story.
This seems to be the same toads that cried about TWEWY Neo for weeks.
Ok troonyslator. Honest question: why don't you just go to ResetEra to discuss the game? After all you hate people who bring up censorship and you hate problematic toxic males, so why not go to the forum that suits you?
>troonyslator
>Honest question:
Don't quit your day job.
Thinking that this is some conspiracy to prevent discussion of a game for no reason is schizo talk.
>Point me where Im crying about the people pointing out censorship, I'll wait.
I'm not crying about it here anon, I'm just stating facts. If you want to prove me wrong that bringing up censorship wont result in a derailed thread, I'd love for you to prove me wrong.
Guess the lesson is not to censor or support games that censor?
Well it's working
There isn't even defending censorship itt. It's just people arguing whether the diary should be equippable as a chest piece
Beyond the new final boss I presume there is no other new content?
I swear it's the same morons every thread defending blatant censorship with any kind of dogshit sophistry their 2 brain cells can muster. If it's changed from the original and doesn't provide any QOL difference, then it's censorship, plain and simple. You don't need some advanced guidebook for that.
wait, how do you say it? Is it Live a Live, Live a Live, Live a Live, or Live a Live?
"Live a Live"
I pronounce it Live a Live, not sure how others are doing it
I used to always say Live a Live, but after hearing Live a Live it does sound better.
good question. you say it as Live a Live.
『ライブ・ア・ライブ』
Live a Evil
Any rip of the new version of Wings Don't Reach?
Is it fun? Is anyone playing it? Should I get it?
yes
yes
yes
Someone was wondering about Great Aja's swear in the last thread. That's also been censored in the remake.
Great Aja didn't actually swear in the updated fan translation.
What is it with all of you guys that comment on these posts without even looking at the image?
I was just stating that the fan translation you showed in that image isn't the most up to date one, that's it. Chill out.
>He doesn't swear in the updated fan translation
>He isn't swearing in the posted fan translation
>original
fricking
>fan translation
damn you
Why in the hell does it still have an armour symbol when both the Japanese and English say "Annie's diary"?
>censoring the jp releases
Christ
Frick SE with a rake
>if i keep saying it's censored it will be true!
all according to keikaku
(t.n. 'keikaku' means Black person)
But it is censored, moron.
see
But it is censored, moron. See
Odio is Squares best villain
>getting mad you can’t wear women’s clothes
is it a 30fps game?
its at least 4 fps
yeah its 30 fps according to my steam deck
Localizers are worse than journalists
This games use of 2dhd is REALLY underwhelming
looks worse than octopath let alone triangle strategy
this is like a devolution in graphics, look at what other japs are doing
what gaym?
Found it. Some polish game.
>Nice 2D pixelart ruined by tumblr portraits
everytime
Same thing happened with Crosscode.
This looks way tackier to me. At that point just make a 3d game
This is 16bit with extra flare
Is this the suikoden-like title with the kickstarter?
That definitely looks closer to what the potential of this style is. Octo, Tri and now this all would have looked better normal 2D (at a good quality like crosscode). Instead they need excessive blur and bloom to cover up a cheap looking 3d gimmick
We saw the cool blend of 2d in 3D 24 years ago with Xenogears
ohh, you can rest assured people are gonna use this style more and more soon enough.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1036640/RPG_Developer_Bakin/
this is a 3d RPG maker whose 3d engine is clearly aping Unreals characteristics, facilitating the creation of HD2D-like RPGs.
I want to see how that DQIII is going to look like
DQ is the most precious and dangerous game they could choose
Japanese people would kill them if they frick it up
Can you learn Seize from the sumo guy in Masaru's chapter?
no but he does have a secret third move you can learn early from him.
You have to disable his arms and legs with Tula Han's moves for him to use it.
Difficult Fight sounds so good in the remake, the entire Medieval Chapter is just pure kino.
Still waiting on my physical copy from amazon, frickers haven't even shipped it yet.
anyone has other dialogue languages to compare with english? I'm pretty disappointed squeenix pulled this shit again.
is the game out?
Important question before i buy. Is it censored or not?
The only thing that's really been changed is read the thread before posting you stupid fricking moron
Censored
Thank you.
I will save my money now.
>taking a random anonymous poster's single word answer's word for it
>couldn't even read the very first reply
Disingenuous post.
Some want quick replies instead of looking throught a long thread.
Man the cutscene skip is gonna be a godsend for replays. Especially for the Future chapter.
Pirated the game, will buy it now since I actually quite like it. Been playing the Present Day and it's been pretty nice.
Is Live A Live remaster ONLY on Nintendo Switch?
for now
Yeah the remake is only on the switch for now
>we've reverted to 90's censorship
>it's done by the people who grew up with shitty 90's censorship this time
Somehow this feels worse than when boomer Christians did it.
Leftists are the New Puritans
Always has been
>Sugita voices Captain Square
God damn I knew it was him
Sugita voices a lot of characters in the remake
Does Sugita like Live-A-Live? Never saw a reference in Gintama.
i'm at the sacrifice altar in the prehistory chapter
is this near the end or is there still more? i want to fight the superboss first if it is
Near the end
where do you find the superboss?
You have to go back to the first area and hunt for the smell cloud with a mammoth in it
>pointing out censorship gets your post deleted now
troony jannies strike again.
I dislike that there's no subs for battle lines.
which is better. ryujinx or yuzu?
So from what I'm seeing in this the thread, the so-called "censorship" is literally nothing.
Are complainers just mad they can't afford $50?
>the so-called "censorship" is literally nothing.
That's what it ends up being 9 times out of 10
Most of the original script is kept in tact. There are minor changes across the different chapters but for some reason the american wild west chapter has notably more changes than the others
so can akira still wear panties on his head or what
Nope. Instead you steal her pocket money now. Same censorship as the first post itt
There’s a shitton of voicelines/variations for the Present Day chapter. There’s multiple “defeat” quotes from the bosses, which is unnecessary but cool.
What did they censor? Is it better than the original?
two woman’s clothing items were changed to different items(applies to all versions).
They fill games with obscenities while getting rid of anything that might even remotely be considered appealing to straight males
they censored (You)
Think of it like if Square decided to officially localize the SNES version in the 90's.
>end of the prehistoric chapter
>Pogo screams Ai (=Love)
>english text says "Aiee!!"
That's really dropping the ball.
>Lei is supposed to call Shifu "Master" for the first time instead of gramps when he dies
>Here she just always calls him Shifu
>imperial china
>supposed to call him shifu
>japan va calls him roshi
Maybe he should have screamed UOOHH in the English version instead of AIEEEHH
Seriously?
Because all Pogo says during the final chapter is 'Love' and so if they actually did that then all he'd be saying at the end is 'Aiee' when it's actually important that he just says Love.
professional video game translation is a joke
Sounds like he is nutting hard instead
I guess they didn't want to try to get a japanese voice actor to pronounce L
Aieeee is japan for love and doubles as him cumming.
But yes thematically it kinda ruins it.
>Halfway through the fakeout chapter
>Niseshujin says hi
>English text says "Roger"
Ignore me, I'm moronic (forgot the e at the end changes things)
So in the final chapter does he just scream "AIEE!" in Oersted's face?
He says "AIEE" there too, yes.
It's the only part of the translation that's an outright mistake. Dunno what the frick they were thinking.
>What do you have that I don’t?!
>*orgasm noise*
Why do people defend translators so much?
The people defending them are their weirdo followers from ResetEra/Twitter or just anons who finna shitpost and get a rise out of anons who care about this topic, simple as, fr fr, no cap.
Because most of them want to be lazy as frick and want to work in the industry doing shitty work.
i'm now imagining a vegeta variant of Pogo being strangled.
>Aiee!!
so it's not vegeta's then? well time to get Pogo screaming AAAIIIEEE!!!!
What panties you fricking moron?
>Xuan Ya Lian Shan Quan sounded way better and less awkward than Heavenly Peak's Decent
>Decent instead of Descent
outed the zhang
Downloading now; I watched Vinesauce stream a bit of the demo and it seemed interesting.
I'm torn between starting with Present Day, Near Future, or Ancient China. Are any of the characters way harder than the others?
I'd say Ancient China is a good starting point, decent balance between combat and story. Present Day is combat focused, only 7 fights in total. Near Future is alright too but might be confusing.
How long is Ancient China?
It was around an hour long for me
wtf its really that short? So how long LAL in general?
It's like 25 hours with the extra content
What’s the extra content?
I forgot that I had played the Demo beforehand, so China chapter should be around 1 hour 45 minutes. The whole game is around 20 hours, some chapters are longer than others: Edo Japan>Prehistory>Near Future>Imperial China>Distant Future>Wild West>Present Day
>the surprising lack of Pogo and Beru porn
I'm hoping this game brings a resurgence.
What’s surprising about that?
What's Mad Dog a reference to?
MOTHERFRICKING MCREE BAYBEE
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_Dog_McCree
Hate how a homosexual dev has managed to tarnish that name
Is it any good? My town had no arcades.
Honestly not even a serviceable arcade shooting gallery. It's like a far more clunky, live action, shitty and funnier version of House of the Dead
Oh ho you missed that one
It's actually based on him
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_Dog_Morgan
Could be either one; Mad Dog McCree apparently got released in Japan by Capcom.
Prehistoric /ss/
>behemoth actually made me jump as I almost walked right into it
Not bad. Still probably could been retooled to be a bit more involved and random though.
Mad Dog tanner in Back to the Future 3
Do this game has any point of no return and or missables?
You can repay chapters you've completed to recover any items you missed
You are a good anon. I hope you get a big tittied girlfriend soon!
Lots of missables, you can redo chapters. I still suggest playing blind, none of the secret shit is essential.
>can just beat OD-10 by spamming maser cannon since the healing units don't move fast enough
RIP
so the remake made the artstyle cohesive while the original had a shit ton of different art styles for its characters.
huh
how the hell do i beat mammoth king?
Luck and grit.
>all the sensible people have left the thread already and the schizo is left larping as his opponents, intentionally botching and misrepresenting their arguments until the thread hits bump limit
many such cases
what was that forum people found that seethed about TWEWY Neo's translation as *ugh* SOOOOO inaccurate, i remember people cross-ref'd posts there with arguments here and a lot of posts were almost verbatim
Nichegamer, most censorship larpers come from there
So what I gather is wait for the PC version and a mod that fixes the censorship? $50 seems a bit steep anyway.
Give me a cool name for the chink martial art
Wong long dong
哑的鬼佬
Kung Pow
>not Face to Foot Style
Shameful
Live a Evil
Evil Alive
>Pogo screams "AAAIIEE!!!"
Straybow literally caused Live a Live to happen.
How does the training in china land work?
The character you train gets a stat boost depending on the arena type and a chance to inherit a move from shifu earlier than they would learn it with natural level ups
How long is this game?
20~25 hours
Each chapter is about three hours give or take so not very long.
what if you're shit at video games
Three hours one minute.
oof, ngmi sry
>There will never be an Evil a Evil where you play as villains and antiheroes
>Final chapter is a reverse where your super evil dude decides to become a hero
>Defeat powered up versions of all the previous chapter MCs
The game looks and sounds amazing
Wait until you see how bad the 3D is.
You mean good.
actually, it was the kings fault for starting live a live for making the winner of the tournment marry alethea when Streibough and Alethea had a relationship, but Oersted then had to third wheel into the relationship.
The king was a good judge of character, I wouldn't let my daughter marry that homosexual either.
but he resulted in streiborough's meltdown resulting in a chain of events leading up to Odio
how did Odio exist in every other timeline even before Oersted was born?
Its time travel
Its a Garland - Chaos thing
>sted is born
>goes through his story
>blasts himself across history
he just does
Doesn't the new final boss confirm that Oersted and Odio are not the same person?
it is possible that Odio was always a being separate from Oersted, remember that the demon lord Hash fought in the past was way different from gargoyle dude.
the theory here would be
>Oersted and Straybow get their duel
>Straybow jealous becomes another vessel for Odio, and somehow (SOMEHOW being the keyword here, i know this is hard to believe things went THAT fast.) sets the kidnapping of Alicia up.
>the tragedy happens
>the moment Oersted gave into despair, it was when Odio jumped from Straybow's corpse to him.
>in the remake, once Oersted was defeated, Odio threw a last gambit by doing what he did. but he didnt expected Oersted would regain his conscience at the last minute.
He was just that angry.
>Saint Alicia in the new Odio fight
>mfw
Holy shit
Does anyone have the Japanese version of the fight? I want to hear what it sounds like in that one.
what is with square games that aren't mario related and having ntr in them
>implying Mario itself doesn't revolve entirely around NTR
No it doesn't.
Triangle Strategy didnt have one as far as original IP modern releases go.
It did
What part
Name five.
I don't recall NTR in Final Fantasy 5.
Of all possible examples you chose mario
yeah mario rpg and the mario sports games they did (hoops and mix)
Oersted didn't even want to frick the girl he just wanted someone to think he was doing the right thing.
first thing he should have done was told Streiborough the truth.

a gag in a dark game?
Is this game good ? Last time I bought a switch jrpg (Octopath) I got bored a quarter of the way in.
And yes I know it's a remake of an oldie.
Well, everyone talks how octopath has a bad story
So it is not like you are weird for thinking that
Live a live is smaller and people talk how it is good

>I have special eyes
Why can't translators just do their jobs without unnecessary changes? Why do publishers need tailor their work for people that won't even consume their product? It's stupid that we've gotten to the point that racist depictions in media are muted, or outright removed--why can't the black hating antagonist say "Black person"? I know the counter arguments, but don't age ratings help to ensure that those impressionable people aren't viewing said media? These days I'm convinced that "uppity" would be seen as incredibly racist given its roots etc., etc. It's all so fricking tiresome.
SU-
wouldn't that be the other cube found in the ship unactivated?
This predates among us by 20+ years.
Well yeah. Though I don't remember Darth saying 'imposter' in the original. But I might just be forgetting.
dear lord, has nobody here seen the thing? i havent even seen the movie/movies and even I know about that franchise!
fricking amogus shit, the moment i found official squishy toys of those astronaut frickers on my nearby 7-11 in FRICKING MONTERREY, NL, MEXICO! i knew that shit went WAY too far.
anway, dude having doubts with japan chapter earlier in the morning here... i'm not sure what the frick just happened...
>find the clone puppet puzzle
>find some room guarded by 3 bucket head dudes
>managed to discover how to beat the puppet puzzle with the 5 koban
>'ok, so i have a decoy and theres those bucketheads there, so i guess that was pretty obvious.'
>and so it was, the decoy fricks the bucketheads over, and managed to enter the room.
>ITS THE FRICKING FINAL BOSS ROOM!
thank lord i DID managed to get the no-kill run, but still i'm still fricking confused.
Huh? what's supposed to be confusing here?
the fact that i just got to the ending so out of nowhere. i mean obviously a room guarded by some buckethead motherfrickers was gonna be important, but i didnt expected to be THAT important, as in 'the end of the story' important, if anything, i thought i was barely halfway thru.
I mean, it's the last floor of the last building in the castle, it's obvious that the final boss is going to be there
It has a space setting, an imposter, vents, you can get ejected and now Darth says imposter
how in the hell does a minor character from a short lasting game become so popular? it's like when you create something new for a game, it's a hit and suddenly merchandise appears.
Just beat the game. New final boss was cool. I'm glad it doesn't really change the story and just adds a bit of extra stuff to the climax. As much as I feel for Oersted, giving him a happy ending would spoil the themes of the story
He should have gotten a happy ending in a dream before the reality kicks in
imagine his reunion with the people he killed in the afterlife.
>That prehistoric chapter ending
AIIIEEEEEEEE /ss/ CHADS
based
the fact that Pogo and Gori's endings are basically them getting laid, shows how much of a chad cavemen were.
>only piece of crossover art between Chrono Trigger and Live-a-Live
At least that I've seen. But man there should be more. Especially with Pogo/Ayla and Robo/Cube.
just wait for chrono trigger 2dhd
i think i'll wait for Crono to get in smash first before we get an HD2D version of CT. replayed a bit of it last night. I literally maxxed out every stat but evasion and accuracy since you can't make them double stars. wow.....i really went the mile a decade ago.
>find a live a live thread
>oh man already over 500 posts, didn't realize this game was popping off like that
>it's moronic censorship discussion
Janny did his job so it is ok now
