Both are pronounced "Live" as in "Cheers is recorded in front of a live audience".

Damn it, my way was close. I always said Live (as in "living") Alive. Thought it sounded best that way and makes more sense to me than live like live television.

I beat every chapter except the ninja and whatever happens after you beat the first seven and kinda dropped it, don't understand why people like it so much, and I'm a sucker for squaresoft 90s jrpgs.

tbh ninja chapter is easily the worst chapter in the game, next to some of the obscure progression shit you have to do in Near Future chapter. Hopefully the remake makes some of what you have to do or where to go less obtuse.

The robot chapter had the worst case of 'interact with random shit until the plot moves on' for me, I mean it was cute and all but from a gameplay perspective it was absolute fricking dogshit, then again who plays these games for their gameplay

The remake has an Octopath style "radar" that shows you where your next objective is.

Good ideas, mediocre as hell execution. 5/10.

Scenario writing being based so heavily around the simplest, most cookie-cutter tropes makes most scenarios uninteresting, those that aren't overstay their welcome through tedious mechanics, and the battle system's got a real bizarre priority style where you basically have to pass turns to just your one or two most effective members, since the enemy gets one move for every action you take - which then has a knock-on effect in that battles with a boss accompanied by a few toadies are paradoxically EASIER than ones against just that one more powerful mook, since the weaker guys waste turns just walking around.

I liked the first scenario I played, prehistory, a lot - the spritework and style of humor reminded pleasantly of FFV - but none of the others really matched its pace and personality, and I was real burntout by the end of things.

It's not that great, but I do like how experimental it is.

I honestly wouldn't have minded if the whole game was just a prehistory themed JRPG.

It was installed on the Cogito Ergosum so that might be a recent game from that era.

            I suppose that makes sense.
However the remake is changing it to be specifically a retro game originally released in 1994.
