I actually did like Impidimp when it was shown despite how people were trashing it as a Youkai Watch looking Pokemon.
I was kinda hoping it would look more "impish" on evolution and play more into that than the ogre/oni look of whatshisface.

I unironically did like all of their pre evos. Primape has been my favorite pokemon ever since i saw ash's in the anime as a small lad. I spent like a week as a kid trying to find a teddiursa and it was a staple on my team. Wimpod is just the magikarp of gen 7 and impidimp was one of the only lines i liked from shit and shart
Primape is better than Annihilape and Ursaring is better than Ursaluna. They didn't need new evolutions, they needed some new moves or stat adjustments.
