dialogue used to be written by adults with life experience and it shows.
i used to think the guy in every single american movie that goes "hey who'd you think you're talking to, dude?" or whatever wasn't a real thing and that it was a cliched

He's playing dumb as usual. The scene is cool as intro cinematic and the Enclave is established as the baddies. They murder people because they can. They kidnapped the rest of the vault. End of story.
I think one of the other devs did say the enclave only gun down the vault dwellers just because it was cool and an establish them as baddies.
Though I can see them do that to any vaults that do not comply with their orders or hell probably even forced conscription into the enclave.

1 is great but is too short.
NV is just 3 but with worse sidequests and boring as frick overworld. Got good ideas, but FO3 stylistically feels more like classic fallout than NV does, even though NV was made by the BIS refugees.
4 is fun as frick with its gunplay and settlement autism but it has barely any substance or atmosphere behind it. Would have been a 10/10 had it not been a mainline game like Tactics and BoS.
