Every game I haven't played is new to me, so why would I bother playing "new" games if they're, generally speaking, lower quality than "old" games?
I tried playing atomic heart, in the first half hour of the game I was able to control my character for about 5 minutes of it. That consisted of walking through an area full of scripted events, could have been a cutscene. I say this because the rest of that 30 minutes were cutscenes with the MC shittalking his robot voice sidekick character. When I got to actually do something I fought 3 robots in about 2 minutes, then had another 15 minutes of cutscenes. Perfect example of what is wrong with this industry. By the time I got to where I could upgrade shit the game had already lost me. Thank you games pass for letting me try it without having to buy.
How about this: Give diversity hires the boot. Don't give games unfathomably high budgets Focus on fun and innovation. Wow look I solved literally everything!

Kids that get into gaming now do so through their phones first and potentially a Switch.
This is becoming more and more apparent as time goes on, and now it's gotten to the point where gamers have been playing their specific GAAS game for 3+ years and will not switch to something new, making it increasingly harder and harder for new GAAS games to get a sustaining population.
AAA game sales peaked during early Covid, and have been plummeting in the last 2 years. And with these game dev cycles taking 6-8 years a game like Suicide Squad started dev at the boom of GAAS and launched at the end of it.
There is nothing that can be done other than sitting back and watching the collapse of the AAA industry over the next 3-4 years.

I just started playing Dragon's Crown for the first time. It's frickin great.
I haven't been a part of the modern gaming atmosphere for almost 10 years. I haven't seen a reason to be.
Every game I haven't played is new to me, so why would I bother playing "new" games if they're, generally speaking, lower quality than "old" games?
Same, my computer is 11 years old, and I haven't seen a reason to upgrade. There isn't a single game made after 2015 that interests me.
I tried playing atomic heart, in the first half hour of the game I was able to control my character for about 5 minutes of it. That consisted of walking through an area full of scripted events, could have been a cutscene. I say this because the rest of that 30 minutes were cutscenes with the MC shittalking his robot voice sidekick character. When I got to actually do something I fought 3 robots in about 2 minutes, then had another 15 minutes of cutscenes. Perfect example of what is wrong with this industry. By the time I got to where I could upgrade shit the game had already lost me. Thank you games pass for letting me try it without having to buy.

I hope with all of my heart the US entertainment industry crashes and burns with no fricking survivors.
The reality is traditional gaming has reached it's peak.
Kids that get into gaming now do so through their phones first and potentially a Switch.
This is becoming more and more apparent as time goes on, and now it's gotten to the point where gamers have been playing their specific GAAS game for 3+ years and will not switch to something new, making it increasingly harder and harder for new GAAS games to get a sustaining population.
AAA game sales peaked during early Covid, and have been plummeting in the last 2 years. And with these game dev cycles taking 6-8 years a game like Suicide Squad started dev at the boom of GAAS and launched at the end of it.
There is nothing that can be done other than sitting back and watching the collapse of the AAA industry over the next 3-4 years.
The pandemic was massive growth which means the industry is flat from a spike. Which means it’s not declining. You idiots have no idea what a crash is zoomie c**ts.
