Hopefully it won't be the cardboard diorama style of rpg that Remake was. The whole idea of on-rails "chapters" really bothered me. Combat was fun as frick though.
It's open world now. My problem is that they're going to wave the fanservice flag pretty high at every fricking opportunity. Can't go 10 meters without being interrupted by some member-berry character or setpiece or remix of the original soundtrack, followed by 20 minutes of melodramatic exposition.
No, the point is to modernize an old game, not wank itself off until everynody dies of cringe. Some of the fanservice they put in is borderline infantile.

It's surprising to me how many people I've heard that assume that gear/levels/materia transfers from Part 1 to Part 2. Oh well, they'll figure it out sooner or later.
It's funny cause I'm the opposite in that I'm looking forward to those moments between general open-world frickery.
When I replayed OG FF7 a few years back, I realized that it had the on-rails segments in many points of the story in the same way, and thinking back to 1996 era, with me being an N64 kid, it must've been insane just how many linear set-pieces it had. Like comparing to Ocarina of Time, the only time that happens is Ganon's Tower collapse at the end.
Though people complain about the padding in Part 1 to Midgar, I actually didn't mind because it had in those open-hub moments too.
But I agree, the combat was so fun, and I really liked the sidequest focused chapters where you could run around the area and do things, so that's why I'm looking forward to the open world of Rebirth a lot.
I actually completed all Battle Log entries by doing all the stuff like staggering/LBing them. (only exception is Parts Crippled on Proud Clod in the DLC, cause frick that, the arm has the same HP as the robot itself). Sometimes frog had to be used with the Parry attack to build stagger without killing, like picrel.
Mine just sucks because I live in the outskirts and finding a somewhat central apartment in a big city costs you about three life savings and your soul, in the current housing market.

Hardly anything is being discussed here. It's just small chirps like it's a chatroom with some off-topic nonsense. This board is full of nothing but oldgays shitposting ironically and a second IRC home for the Mods.

Yes, those are the signature aesthetics of the genre. They are eye-catching and entertaining, and distinguish it from other types of fantasy.
That's probably just to make traversal more convenient instead of having to go up stairs and ladders all the time. Aesthetically it fits perfectly though. Same rocky environment, same building types, same color scheme. I can't think of what other area of the game you'd imagine that to be.

this is the gayest thread i've ever read on /vrpg/. unbelievably cringe. especially the 50 year old white mom post
>they're going to wave the fanservice flag pretty high at every fricking opportunity
That's the whole point of the entire game though.

Oh you...
>fanservice
That's the point. Anyone wanting to simply play VII would simply play VII.
Wrong, see

Ok, riddle me this
how do you show the original characters or the original music without being "memberberry"?

why jprg gays can't into aesthetics? everything has to be absurdly excessive - oversized weapons, baroque architecture, character design. less is more
Japs' lives are excessively boring and depressive so they overcompensate with pointless flare and effects.
No ones life is interesting in these days
Mine just sucks because I live in the outskirts and finding a somewhat central apartment in a big city costs you about three life savings and your soul, in the current housing market.
Because that was worth the bump.
Sorry troony, some people enjoy talking about RPGs

Compensation for tiny asian pp.
>WHY ISNT IT BORING LOOKING
>I NEED OVERDESIGNED TRANNIME AESTHETICS 24/7
Yeah, so? If I wanted boring everyday shit, I'd just go outside.
Cause it's aesthetic as fuark
>everything has to be absurdly excessive - oversized weapons, baroque architecture, character design.

Game of the decade tbh. Finally a good RPG after Remake
Where's bottom right from? It's not Cosmo Canyon, is it?
My guess is either a theme park in Golden Saucer or the prison/wasteland beneath it.
it is. i don't recognize bottom left thoughever
Bottom left is Kalm. But bottom right looks too post-apoc for CC. Too many buildings.
Sure looks like CC to me.
Too flat.

cringe
Why do you even post here? Frick off and die.
>if you call out cringe homosexuals for being gay you do NOT belong on MY board chud!
Sage
Are you one of those anti-New Vegas/Morrowind trannies? That's a weird form of activism.
meds now schizo moron
GOTY 2024 or just RPG of 2024 incoming?
GOTY until FF7 Reunion releases.
Idk, Dragons Dogma 2 is gonna be up there for GOTY as long as it doesn't suck.
It will be the best game of the year most likely
KEK. But Granblue Fantasy Relink already released and DD2 also releases this year.

Cool it with the transphobia, sis.
It's actually insane how bad this game looks.
Hope you're at least getting paid for this.
>there are subhumans who unironically shill for either
>vaseline-smeared goyslop #1: unreal engine, console first, nostalgia bait
>or
>vaseline-smeared goyslop #2: re engíne, denuvo, pseudo reboot
never played an FF game. should I try this? it looks neat
Yeah it's one of the good ones
>huge massive flat spaces to walk on
>eyecandy with no function around
Yup, it's modern jrpg alright.
Look like I am no longer hungry and feel a bit sick.
rpg of the year. easily
Based on the fact that Baldur's Gate 3 came out last year and that there's really nothing else on the horizon.
>arpeg of year
That's not DD2 though.
>being so passive aggressive you deny them a link and a (you)
>recycled slop
>KINO
get bend homosexual
Damn, this game really makes the schizos mad. Is this the so-called Jimbogay shrieking?
Likely not. Though the 'member berries post might be his, but he's usually more doomer than that.
