I found a great sword that scales well with Inferno and have been decimating enemies. The big sweep makes these fricking swarms more manageable and after two hits it triggers a fire explosion too.
>TFW defeat Hushed Saint >Didn't know where to go >Thought I had to go back to Skyrest Bridge >Didn't realize there was a path leading to the next vestige/area >Ended up skipping an entire area and went to an area I was suppose to do later >Gotta go back and do the area I skipped now
Fricking annoying as frick. The game gives you zero indication on where to go and in what order the areas are supposed to be played. You can play areas out of order apparently and just flat out miss some areas if you don't know where to go. Like I skipped all of Calreth and ended up doing the snowy village area instead, which you were suppose to do later in the game.
Not really? I was able to navigate in Elden Ring just fine, but LotF does a horrible job nudging the player in the right direction or even explaining where to go. The areas have so many branching pathways and shit, it's easy to just venture off in the wrong direction.
>The game gives you zero indication on where to go and in what order the areas are supposed to be played
Literal, actual, definite, moron
The game gives you maps at the start of every area that act as fricking walkthroughs
LMAO
The maps are poorly designed and don't explain shit, how are you supposed to read that shit? It has landmarks and what not, doesn't actually explain where to find the landmarks or what direction to go in. It's a garbage ass navigation system/map design. The maps have been zero help for me personally, doesn't explain shit. The devs I guess thought it was good enough help, but it really isn't.
>The game gives you zero indication on where to go and in what order the areas are supposed to be played
Literal, actual, definite, moron
The game gives you maps at the start of every area that act as fricking walkthroughs
LMAO
The maps are literally incoherent scribbles or an arrow pointing at a door lke no shit game lol
i never opened up the maps. is it accessed in the item menu or is there some frickin hotkey i dont know about?
I have no idea, you can go to the inventory screen and find the maps and when you select them there is no option to do anything with them. Total moron design. Good job the game is mostly linear anyway.
I'm not flat out saying I need yellow paint, moron. I'm just saying the map system is poorly designed and the devs could have made it a bit easier to nudge the player in the right direction or at least do a better job explaining where to go. Then again Dark Souls games are just as bad, when I first played them I had no idea where to go because it's never explained where to go, you can go to areas out of order as well.
So far Pilgrim's Perch and Forsaken Fen are both ASS TIER fricking areas, as far as I'm concerned every area so far has been fricking awful to navigate and get through. The snowy village area was honestly pretty easy to navigate and felt like a shorter area to me. Forsaken Fen though....yeah frick that place to hell.
Pilgrim's Perch is the first real area in the game and it's garbage as well. It's like a platforming area on the side of a cliff, genius.
The game is literally > Follow the bells > Follow the lights > Follow the crosses > Follow the hands
>this is the same moron that tries dark souls, and upon getting to firelink shrine, goes straight to the catacombs, dies a ton and makes a negative review like that post
Incredible, really
>soulsplayers cry that nobody does what DS was famous for - exploration, discovering stuff on your own, not holding your hand etc. >someone makes game that doesn't tell you where to go >AIEEEEE TODD HOWARD PLEASE HELP ME, WHERE ARE MY MARKERS, WHERE IS MY GPS
This sword is so stupid. Radiance spells are the only spell school which matters, it has long range, its fast and it means you can totally ignore Str/Dex.
Yeah I thought this was annoying as well, guess the devs figured it was like an INT check, like radiance lore requires a high radiance stat and inferno lore items require a high inferno stat, I mean it makes sense but it's also frustrating. I believe you need 25 and 50 respectively to see the entire lore for items. It's kind of steep actually, like you need at least 50 radiance or 50 inferno, or 50 in both to see the lore for item in the game.
[...]
This sword is so stupid. Radiance spells are the only spell school which matters, it has long range, its fast and it means you can totally ignore Str/Dex.
Plus WHY ARE ITEMS DETAILS TIED TO STATS.
i was hoping it would include an extra little bonus but its really just frickin lore only. and i really dont give a frick and im waiting for a dark souls 2 tier vaati vidya on it in the future.
>The Saint willingly was beheaded so his head could be used as a catalyst to power one of the beacons. Each beacon apparently has a different catalyst that is lore significant
So i got to the lil canyon after the swamp. swamp was a terrible place but im confused on the exploration there other than a pendant, because it just leads to the older areas of the swamp with the huts
terrible area though. holy frick im glad im out of there
but i hanged left after the swamp in some canyon, and fought a sinner Black person, got a sword but most of all upgrade materials. thank frick. but for some reason, the elevator leads to uh, skybridge but that only leads to the lift to the crypt area.
like frickin why?
Oh right, frick.
just kinda trying to make sense of this elevator leading back to skybridge, because that shit was way earlier and i cant see the point.
The point is to ape the interconnected design of Dark Souls while making it completely pointless because you can just warp from the start. There’s a reason that Dark Souls gives you fast travel only after Anor Londo.
>1.5% of people SAM'd the game
That seems abnormally high compared to other games I've checked
Also, the frick are the red lanterns on the ground for? I can hit them but nothing happens and they disappear. Are they like Nioh's red graves?
>Also, the frick are the red lanterns on the ground for?
this game's version of bloodstains
you activate them by grabbing them with your lantern
they will lead you to a powered up enemy that killed a player in another world, kill it for a reward
You use your lamp to pull them out. Once you do, red butterflies lead you to an elite enemy. Kill it to get currency to buy special items. These enemies are harder than usual.
ty, I did everything except pressing R1 when shining the lantern on them
You use your lamp to pull them out. Once you do, red butterflies lead you to an elite enemy. Kill it to get currency to buy special items. These enemies are harder than usual.
Who's coffin is this? Lucy's I didn't really understand the lore in this area. Yorke tried bring her back to life but she came back as a spooky ghost, and he turned into some demon crow thing? What about Yorke's wife and his unborn child? We know his wife was pregnant, but Lucy wasn't his daughter, it was his niece. The lore is just all over the place, nothing is fleshed out or fully explained. Lucy I guess fell into the river, drowned, and a was feeding on her corpse or some shit.
>Going to pickup lost souls >already in umbral when going to grab them >They're right next to an item mimic that instantly kills me cause I interacted with it by accident
I'm legit mad.
anyway to tell with item mimics? i knew of one beforehand from helping someone in the swamp after horseman, but when i went myself, it wasn't there but instead around the corner
i watched a streamer ac ouple days ago. i forgot where he was but he got hit with a chest mimic but i cant tell with those either
Do you just ignore the item or is there any way to get it/kill the Mimic? I've found two, one by some ruins after Horseman and one inside s side room (locked with thrnkey you buy from the Captain) next to the Bell room in Pilgrim's Cliff.
Alright this swamp is by far the worst fricking area ever.
I skipped going to the Visage boss because I got the drops there from helping some dude, and i died on my own way there somehow from frickin tumbleweeds so I dont think im missing much aruond there i think?
So far Pilgrim's Perch and Forsaken Fen are both ASS TIER fricking areas, as far as I'm concerned every area so far has been fricking awful to navigate and get through. Pilgrim's Perch is the first real area in the game and it's garbage as well. It's like a platforming area on the side of a cliff, genius.
for real it reminded me of early stormveil castle, or 1-1 demons souls, just that one fricking area to get in, and they just thought lets make a whole level like that
the rafters on the side of the castle wall in 1-1 before the first boulder
and stormveil kinda the same, just stairs outside the wall to a balcony.
literally all that shit but worst with platforming.
for real it reminded me of early stormveil castle, or 1-1 demons souls, just that one fricking area to get in, and they just thought lets make a whole level like that
I love that they start you off with pilgrims perch because it makes it clear what you're up against playing this game right off the bat. And it also forces you to become adept at the handling of the controls. Doing the umbral shit in it too is a genuine challenge.
It's actually a genius level and a really good filter
The level design and enemy density are legitimate criticisms. You won’t understand until the burning city.

I thought Elden Ring was Dark Souls 2, but this game is unironically the true successor to Dark Souls 2's god awful enemy placement
8 months ago
Anonymous
I think what makes it even worse is that enemies don’t have a tether so they will just chase you through the entire level unless you kill them. Pretty much everything from Lower Calrath on is the run to Smelter Demon repeated over and over again in terms of bad enemy placement. >be in the mines >6 enemies in this room >3 protected by a parasite >parasite is across multiple cat walks >requires you to sprint past all of the enemies to get in range to absorb >casters trying to hit you while you get rushed by melee guys >if you frick up and fall there’s several dogs waiting below to frick you
It’s just not fun. I find myself fighting and exploring until I run out of healing items and then I sprint past everything trying to grab what items I can while looking for shortcuts, bonfires, and boss rooms.

yeah, this is basically my strategy as well. i'm hoping as you get more powerful it becomes easier, but by everyone's accounts here it just gets more cancerous as you progress

I’m pretty powerful at this point and have no problem with any individual enemy. It just never gets better or more satisfying. The only reason I’m not uninstalling is because the boss fights are actually pretty decent.
i see that. and in hindsight the tutorial area didn't help me much. like the area right after mandatory boss death, it was just frickin shrine of amana right away with a 3 person gank squad around a corner.
i mean i get it, but holy frick does the game force you to learn and abuse umbral shit
Yeah it gets pretty bonkers. The second half of pilgrims around the time when you see your first spiked barrel head is when it really got real because you must do the umbral puzzle while either attempting to evade or kill the barrel head WHILE getting sniped at by enemies you cannot reach until you complete the puzzle.
i picked the class with the bow and crow outfit so i abused the bow a lot. felt like it was a smart move on my part but yeah i was skippin tutorial or not reading them after a point like yankin doods off a cliff and refilling with the egg pods on the walls, specifically would be great for the iron head frickers.
>really want the Invader armor and special items >this games netcode is fricking horrible meaning you basically are forced to play some kind of one-shot build and hope you hit them >can't wait for a patch because then you'll never invade anyone ever
holy shit this is so fricking gay fricksdflsdkjfjslkdfl;ksdfjlkis
im not much of an invader but just helping people to farm souls, its so fricking ass man. i swear everyones on wifi, and i never get pc players.(xbock btw so its double shit)
its very hard to perfect parry or dodge even
It's not that. It's that the connection is entirely client side, so you literally always lag unless they're in the room right next to you. Even same state is useless. It's the absolute worst way to do online.
For those that are curious the game doesn't appear to have a level cap, unless it's 9,999, and the stat cap might be 999 I guess, also the max damage cap is apparently 9,999,999.
That's not even remotely true
almost half my damage is damage stat scaling, and my weapon isn't even maxed out yet
[...]
Soft cap for stats is 50 and the second, more brutal one, is 75. After that you get basically nothing.
I haven't found the fricking blacksmith or whoever upgrades your weapon, haven't even figured how runes work yet, so yeah, my weapon isn't upgraded at all and I have a shit ton of upgrade stones, not sure if I missed the upgrade NPC, or they just don't appear till like halfway through the game.
I found some blacksmith b***h but couldn't reach her, she was trapped in some cage, figured it was part of a sidequest, just wasn't sure if that is who upgrades your weapons. Does Skyrest, the hub area, not have a blacksmith area or do they gain one later on?

kill one of those idiots with the shields and he'll drop a key; give the key to the smith and she'll go to the bridge.
you literally just kill the guy guarding her cage to get the key
>I haven't found the fricking blacksmith or whoever upgrades your weapon
she's in a weird spot, she's under the bellroom
you kill the dude patrolling with dogs around her cage and he drops the key, then you give it to her, she then appears in skyrest across from Sir gaysalot to the right of the bonfire thing
also make sure you think about a weapon you really need after you use your small frags, the upgrades get a bit scarce for a bit
[...]

The key to free her is literally in the same room you find her. You cheating monkeys really are braindead.
>Guy near the cage drops the key
Wow, that's so fricking stupid. I must have just not looted his body and kept going on. Shit, I hope I can still get the key or free her, hope it won't just lock me out of it, surely not. I just gotta go back to that area now where she was at, hopefully there is a vestige close by, can't remember if there is or not.
FRICK. I thought it was part of some sidequest or something to free her, didn't realize some random enemy in that area drops a key to the cell.

he drops it again dont worry. he dropped it for me after i revisted it because her door opens up and you can loot some shit in there and he happened to drop another key anyway.
if you have the pilgrim key, to the left of her cage leads outside, if you hang right runnin through all the hard frickin enemies, you can quickly loot the amulet in the human cage. it increases physical damage and defense

No, you’re fricking stupid lmao. It’s not the games fault you decided not to loot the glowing gold shit on the corpse.

Wait do can anyone tell me if I'm right, every weapon of the same type seems to have the same moveset, is this right? If so that sucks, and no weapon arts either
It's not like Elden Ring, there are no unique weapon arts/skills for each weapon. Also yes, every weapon type tends to have the same moveset, and there are only so many weapon types in the game. One handed swords all swing the same, rapiers the same, greatswords, grandswords, grandhammers, spears, polearms, etc. They all have the same moveset.
>just want to co-op >lag is beyond terrible
I hate this so much. This alone has caused me to give this game a negative review. Fix this you fricking hacks.
Can someone spoon feed me how boss loot works?
Do you get random parts of their gear or is there a logic behind it?
Also is co-op/ng the only way to farm more?
the "bosses" without cutscenes are just normal enemies with a health bar, you'll find them later on. The main bosses you just get their stuff from ghost dad.
funnily, you can actually find the generic version of the dog boss before you actually fight her if you blitzkrieg through the bell door next to the vestige near her
Haven't done coop but grab the rememberances from each boss (you have to go Umbral and succ the statue) and then talk to the Umbral NPC at the Bridge whose name I can't remember and he'll trade you the boss gear/spells.

DS2 chad here. I have no clue what the frick you're all talking about. The only similarities I can see between this piece of shit and DS2 are that the animations are kind of janky mocapslop in both cases, although DS2's are still worlds ahead of LotF's, and the fact that the game often throws large numbers of very weak enemies at you.
Is that it? Are those the only similarities you're trying to push?

every single game that I've bought in the last year has had schizos like you in their threads calling anyone that criticizes the game a "discord troony"
According to Ganker, there are discords dedicated to raiding: >ALL dark souls threads >ALL Tears of the Kingdom threads >ALL Armored Core threads (a lot of discords for this one) >ALL Baldur's Gate 3 threads >ALL Lies of P threads >ALL LotF threads

Nothing wrong with criticizing a game.
He's saying the game plays like DS2 though which is factually incorrect.

All of which were in fact raided by discord trannies.
You knew that though, since you are one.
There are some claw/fist type weapons, and some daggers. I got some scimitar/arab looking weapon when I accidently killed this petrified girl cause I didn't know how to free her, apparently it's part of a sidequest, but since I killed her I fricked it up, you get her sword though if you kill her.
because I've been busy with remote work and I browse here when I take breaks to shit post and I'm considering pirating the game when I have time to play in a few days
Look at his filename for that webm, he's in here to shitpost and troll.
To answer your question, I believe you can get poison coating items from a certain enemy, don't know what they're called but they can emit like a poison cloud attack from their bodies. I think you don't start encountering them till the snowy village area, Kalinger or whatever the frick it's called? Or maybe it's in Forsaken Fen? All I know is a certain enemy drops the poison coating item.
Surely you didn't just skip past him or didn't bother exploring around Skybridge. You have to SHIFT into the Umbral world to see him, but there is a cthulhu looking NPC in a room in Skybridge that can upgrade your lantern and sell you umbral spells and other goodies, also the guy who sells you boss equipment for remembrances like Elden Ring.
He's in a room right behind Pieta on the left up some stairs, you really can't miss it.
Reload the area after each item you give him and he'll sell some new shit. He's got some really nice looking armor sets, for example. I've been rolling the Vanguard one, pimp coat with plate armor. He's probably going to go full whack by the end if this game is anything like Souls with their quests though.
It looks cool but I personally think it's really slow, though you do good damage, obviously you dual wield heavy weapons it'll be slow, trading speed for power.
I do like that the game will let you basically dual wield anything with something else for funny/crazy combinations. You can dual wield a sword and a flail or a greatsword and a great hammer, etc.
>personally think it's really slow
Yeah this is the problem I have with it. Are the dual wielding movesets actually based on the weapon classes you are using? It isn't just generic a dual wield moveset regardless of weapons?
I believe there are three movesets. Heavy, Medium and Light. If you dual wield two heavy weapons then you get the heavy dual wield moveset. Obviously dual wielding daggers or fist weapons will be much faster and quicker, it depends on what combination of weapons you're dual wielding but you should probably stick with two weapons of the same type/class.
Two one handed swords, Two greatswords, Two hammers, etc.
There isn't really a "quick shortcut" way, you just have to follow the path in the area and you'll eventually reach a vestige checkpoint, it's around the halfway point through the area, and then there is another vestige near the boss arena at the end of the area which leads to the next area.
Fextralife has a detailed guide with images if you really want to know where to go and what to look for, not really shilling Fextralife but the guide is actually pretty detailed and helpful, even has writing on the images explaining which paths lead where.
im already past it in the fitsroy place but im lookin at fextra and its tellin me theres a book to give the cleric Black person behind the visage boss so i gotta go visit him. just cant remember the quickest way to get to it.
i just remember that you see wolf skeleton armor big Black person in umbral and around the corner after flickin bamboo leads to some tumbleweeds falling down but my god this place is frickin awful and i hate it
It looks cool but I personally think it's really slow, though you do good damage, obviously you dual wield heavy weapons it'll be slow, trading speed for power.

There is this, and you get a giant spiky cage helmet, but so far that's about all I've seen/found.
I know there are multiple endings? How easy is it to accidently stumble into an ending just doing a quest and getting locked in without knowing?
And in general how easy is it to mess or quest lines? Is it like fromsoft games at all?
Well one is called the Radiance ending, so I imagine that all you have to do is cleanse the five beacons their is also an Adyr ending, which I assume you don't cleanse the five beacons or you go down the path of worshipping Adyr through a questline with that one cultish b***h, forgot her name. there is also an Umbral ending, but I have no idea how you might get that one, probably has to do with the lantern.
The rune that increases 2h damage affects your mainhand weapon when in an offhand weapon. If you find a weapon with three circle runes slots you can get a 27% damage increase by stacking them.
There is a saint upgrade in Kalinger or whatever it's called, but couldn't figure out how to get to it, like you have to do drop in from the ceiling I guess or there is some secret entrance/path to get to it. I'm sure I've missed at least 1-2 saint upgrades so far, and what sucks is after the first 2-3 upgrades, Pieta is going to start asking for TWO saint upgrade things for ONE upgrade.
yes, it seems you get one shot at an early kill after the tutorial I think there's another at the end of the snow area, but I beat him first try so idk if it's another one time deal
Besides the jank is this game actually any good? May pick it up during the winter sale if it is. This and Remnant 2 since I thought the first was alright.
the gameplay is alright for the most part, my biggest niggle is the dodges and attacks fling you around a bit too much
beyond that, the game is basically dark souls but you also have a gravity gun and the sekiro parry
How do you leave someones game after killing a boss with them? I do not give a frick about persisting in their world past helping them on the boss
Do I seriously have to back out to the main menu every time?
Does the game have catalysts that scale with physical stats like the Clawmark Seal in Elden Ring. Stuff like doing a Bestial incantation High Strength/Low Faith build
No and str/fai is pointless in this game there are tons of radiant scaling weapons that need very little str and hit even harder because almost nothing resists radiant damage.
he's full of shit. there's a ton of great Str/Fth weapons in the game
it's like homies see one good sword and assume that's the only way to play. shit you don't even know if that's the best sword or not. it's day 2
>Kill Horseman boss yesterday >Go to bed >Get up ready for some Sunday gaming >Boot the game up >The next area right after is more poison swamp
Some motherfricker saw Old Hunters and went "yeah everyone hated the Fishing Hamlet, lets just make two vast areas of that back to back!". I can see people dropping the game here, too. It's just that bad.
>found that dragon knight guy from the tutorial >he kicked my ass all over again
Am I in the wrong area again? I feel like I keep taking the wrong turn.
Oh okay. Well here I was thinking I had made a wrong turn or something. I know I'm missing a frick load, but every time I turn somewhere I think I'm meant to go, shit instantly has like 4 times more health.
I'm going to be honest with you, anon. It's fun but flawed. Solid 8/10 for me.
Combat is good, movesets are varied because you can combo stuff, graphics/artstyle is good enough. Difficulty seems a little harsh at the start and there's a lot of stuff to keep track of.
The real downsides are the shitty areas and enemy placement, it's not as bad as Dark Souls 2 but it's fricking trying its best to reach that level.
It’s worse than Dark Souls 2. Not by much but it’s definitely worse. If it didn’t have the Umbral bullshit I would agree but the forced Umbral world stuff just takes all of the flaws and makes them worse.
Yeah the Umbral shit is way worse but that doesn't really have to do with enemy placement, that just has to do with it being a dogshit mechanic where they game spawns enemies indefinitely and then proceeds to punish you for killing them. Has anyone killed the Red Menace yet?
Oh, anon. You aren’t far enough yet. Eventually it’s not just enemies spawning after a bit, but actually placed enemies on top of the normal enemies on top of the ones that start spawning in. It’s absolutely fricking awful and a slog to go through Umbral later on, to the point that you won’t even bother exploring and will dread literally any time you have to use the lantern. Even for small things like walking through a door or absorbing a parasite are harrowing experiences because there are always multiple Umbral enemies placed in those areas that you can’t see because the lantern isn’t pointed at them. But they can see you and if they hit you, you get dragged into Umbral to fight whatever you were already fighting plus the gank squad waiting for you in Umbral. It’s fricking ridiculous.
damn, I'm surprised. based on people's descriptions, this seems like the first soulslike to actually take exploration seriously and be more like DS1 than DS2 and 3 supposedly? might actually consider buying now. No wonder so many people call it shit. They can only play the generic thoughtless action games that modern fromsoft is.
but still, I'm not quite convinced. there's gotta be a twist right? any honesy good faith enjoyers of the game that can communicate whether it's truly a DS1esque experience without any of the bad that could come from being made in the modern day or something else along those lines?
There isn't actually a whole lot of exploring to do. The game is incredibly linear it's just that the game has two worlds and you have to shift between them to progress.
The downside is the enemy placement is fricking awful. It's purposefully made to be as tedious and frustrating as possible. It's not uncommon to run into huge groups of enemies where some of them are invincible until you do a gimmick, while being sniped from a mile away by archers that fire homing explosive arrows in volleys of 4-6 shots.
Anon you can do areas out of order pretty easily. If you buy the 9k key and upgrade your weapon you can go through that door, and you get the ice key to go to the ice place really early on too.
Yeah you can buy a key for 9500 vigor but by the point you see it available for purchase you wont have anywhere near enough to buy it. Unless you sit down and grind for a while. And then it unlocks an area with tough as frick enemies that will 1-2 shot you while taking almost no damage.
Was probably added last minute without any real thought to it. You're clearly not suppose to grind for an hour to unlock an area where everything 1 shots you but has thousands of health while you hit them for 10 damage.
Maybe you can do it, but it's clearly not the intended route you're suppose to take through the game and trying is honestly pointless.

i think if you don't level before pieta, you can buy it with all the souls you have + hers

>design a whole different progression route >"Was probably added last minute"
Holy are you moronic
It’s not the intended route for a first run of the game like taking the master key and skipping blight town isn’t the intended route for your first play of Dark Souls.
It's more like using the belfry gargoyle souls to buy the garden key in ds1. I'm sure plenty of people did that in their first run and while the enemies there where harder did people b***h and complain? No.
It’s not the intended route for a first run of the game like taking the master key and skipping blight town isn’t the intended route for your first play of Dark Souls.
The extra holy damage attack/proc on top of the damage boost from the enchant is better in my opinion
feels like I'm killing monsters much faster compared to with umbral weapon enchant
I refunded because the movement when attacking, the camera, and the dodge roll being unresponsive made it feel like shit. Are the later boss fights worth picking the game up during a sale?
The problem with the dodge roll isn't that it's unresponsive. It's that it has 3 behaviours mapped to one fricking button.
There is a normal dodge is you tap to dodge. If you double press you go into a very long dodge (which in most areas results in you rolling off the edge and dying). There is also a 3rd dodge you can only use while locked on to an enemy and is more of a side step but the timing on it seems very specific (kind of like a parry dodge).
Idk I was fighting the second boss and a handful of times I double tapped and didn't do the roll. After one of them I just started spamming the button to see if I was going crazy and I just did the side step once and at that point I had enough.
I'll probably pick it up cheap. I finished the first game and this one seemed much better just not worth the price.
>watching people stream the game >people using any excuse not to be in the umbral >mfw watching the miss FRICKING EVERYTHING
Just so you homosexuals in this thread know, The Umbral holds all the best shit. And invisible walls. Pic related.
It's because of the endless enemy fricking spawns and effectively being on a time limit before a giga homie comes to frick you up. Just makes an already tedious game even worse to play. Can't say I blame them.
There seems to be almost no build variety at all. And I have yet to find a piece of equipment with any unique or special effect. Everything is just different stats and for weapons they sometimes have an element or status effect.
Most weapon types share their moveset but you can combo as you want by doing R1 and R2 in different order. Both "light" and "heavy" attacks are the same speed, but you can charge "heavy" ones. Example: shortsword R1 is a slash and R2 is a poke, you can start with a poke if in a hallway to avoid bouncing off walls and then combo into slashes.
As for the build variety, I don't know what that other anon is smoking, it's quite literally just a carbon copy of Dark Souls 1 and weapons do have meme gimmicks later on.
Runes/amulet/rings are your builds. If you play through the game in the intended order you won't see a lot of the runes until near the end. That being said, stacking percent damage increasing runes and scaling increasing runes is probably always going to be the best thing to do. And since all weapons in a category share the same moveset there's always an optimal weapon in each category for every stat combination.
Can't believe people are so battered by umbral still. You go in, get the thing you need, then leave. It's really that easy. You don't have to kill 1000 respawning zombies.

It's not though. Hell, the Umbral fully intends for you to mostly rush through. That's like... the core part of the Umbral.
This is such a bizarre hill to die on for a Souls game.
Yes but as some other anon pointed out earlier, the whole concept of the Umbral is that it's supposed to be a spooky place with horrors beyond comprehension. Early game it's just another layer of exploration, later on it's basically the Berserk Eclipse, except you're not Guts, you're one of the Band of the Hawk grunts.
I need more fricking money holy shit I can't afford anything. >can't afford consumables >can't affort different armor >can't afford to try other weapons because upgrading costs an arm and a leg
Non level up prices should all be cut in half with how much money you're getting.
the ranged attacks from enemies you can hardly reach and infinite enemy spam in umbral makes this game not fun for me, i would refund but have 5 or 6 hours already maybe if pick performance as reason they allow refund i hope
There's also this axe that's been carrying me for a while now. I don't remember exactly where I got it but it was on the way to the swamp I'm pretty sure
Don't think so, but sometimes enemies steal your bloodstain and you have to kill them to get it back. Maybe once an enemy has it they will keep it until you kill them for it?
The seed system is really stupid. You place a seed and the current gets 'deleted', so you now can't go to the one before. And it's consumables. This idiots placed a bed in the boss room of the flesh congregator, and one right after the boss room, where there is a Vestige just a little further. Fricking stupid, this may ruin my experience.
>You place a seed and the current gets 'deleted', so you now can't go to the one before
yeah no shit, that's the fricking point. You don't get to make the game all cushy by putting 2000 bonfires everywhere, it's a one-time deal
>You don't get to make the game all cushy by putting 2000 bonfires everywhere
they are rare you worthless moron
you can also farm them by killing the big face monsters
there's one after fitzeroy's gorge and one under calrath in the mines
they have a very high drop rate on seeds + trio healing stones
Ignoring the awful, AWFUL netcode. I'm invading people easily VASTLY higher than myself. Doing three times as much damage as me with their little swords compared to my ultra-greatsword.
So instead I've been going in with a one-hit nuke spell, nuking them from a mile away and ending the invasion before it even begins. BUT EVEN IGNORING THAT, the areas you invade people in are incredibly small. So when you're fighting two people, you basically have to fight them alone in a small room with nothing to do but take their hits.
My invasions are basically; >invade in >lock on instantly because you're never more than a few feet from people in what is usually an empty map >press nuke spell >they die >goes to umbral if they're not already there >charge spell before they can even react out of the death cutscene >they instantly die again
Already bought all the Invader items. Donated 10k Hands already.
it doesn't seem like there's any matchmaking system, it's just a free for all, so yeah, max out your weapon first before you invade
+5 radiant weapon pietta's sword demolishes people
that's what it feels like, i was tickling other players and getting splattered when I did some early invasions, but now I'm fricking darth vader with my +5 lightsaber
I just had a nice duel with an invader. 1v1, no magic, no healing. Almost reminded me of the good old days. There seems to be a random chance of getting a Blue Phantom though.
>all weapons have the same animation within the weapon classes >which means there's basically no variety or progression for pure melee, casters get weapons from all weapon classes AND spells on top of it
What a moronic game
17str + 19 agi for the sword and the armour itself weigh 74.7
Probably need like 30 endurance to to be in medium roll range. It's a full on heavy armour so get like 750+ phys defense
>did you like das2?
The only thing I hated about das2 is the stupid level design like the bonfire and that room. You know which bonfire and which fricking room.
And Soul Level ranges, don't forget about those. And, this might come as a weird complaint, that it's excessively long and the DLC just pile on top of that.
it's just a damage bonus, not limited to STR.
if you're asking if you can reach STR requirements by 2 handing? no
Having tried to test some damage calcs and there is something fricky going on, their displays may not be correct. I have a +2 Sin-Piercer and a +2 Perdam Falchion which are both the same weapon type and pure physical, where the Sin-Piercer has 1 AR more than the Falchion.
When 1 handed they have near enough identical damage.
When 2 handed the Falchion does noticably more in all cases.
It's not a 2H STR scaling difference because the Falchion has no STR scaling and the total scaling bonus on the Sin-Piercer is higher. The movesets and stamina cost are identical.
The Crimson Rector at Fitzroy's Gorge is filtering me bros, I get him to 1% and then proceed to die like a moron. The fact that he heals for half his health is absurd.
Hint: You can cancel his buff
Hint2: It has something to do with opposite of holy
Hint3: In Umbral world, there's umbral pods everywhere and when popping one it'll disable his holy buffs
These devs will seriously be like >All "walking corpses" have had their charged attack damage reduced from 1.18 to 0.8. This change has been made because their animations did not accurately reflect the danger of the hit. Additionally, their anticipation animations have been slightly adjusted for better readability.
Meanwhile the entire game looks like a third rate iceskating disaster zone and drops every other frame, all the weapon movesets are the same and half the special attacks in the game are unusable garbage. Who are they trying to fool?
If they care enough to adjust the anticipation animation of a generic trash zombie for better readability on Day 2, why couldn't they have done anything about the rest of the entire fricking game during 9 years of development.
So here's the real question:
What's the stat that increases Luck?
What's the Blueblood Sword?
Are there runes that can change weapons to scale with said stat? Like Hollow in DS3?
I'm a sucker for LUK
>beat fleshbag and get to swamp >teleport back to the perch and do some backtracking >find miniboss and end up using my flower >now locked out of the swamp
Bros... it's over for me...
There is a Vestige after the first mini pond right after the bossroom. I also used up a seed, just to find a Vestige a few meters ahead. It's super gay.
big range, good moveset and it has good damage
people are using it as two-hand wait until morons figure out to dual wield it for quick holy enchant procs
I just realized it has completely re-done all my fricking stats

Holy shit. The Umbral gets fricking insane later on. I feel like a random pleb entering the Astral World. Only, instead of being GATSU, I'm one of the billion plebs who get raped and murdered by demon horses.
Orius ending: first thing the ungrateful b***h does is annihilating you, his champion, out of existence, before he jizzes his light all over the world
Umbral ending: the entire world gets vored. You're the first.
Aedyr ending: you give him a body of a young girl. He then makes you his first champion, and you proceed to smack the world together.
>made all those weapon models >forgot to give then AT LEAST SOME MOVESET VARIABILITY
What's the fricking point in finding a new hammer if it has literally the same moveset as the bone one you find within 1.5 hours?
DS2 chad here. I have no clue what the frick you're all talking about. The only similarities I can see between this piece of shit and DS2 are that the animations are kind of janky mocapslop in both cases, although DS2's are still worlds ahead of LotF's, and the fact that the game often throws large numbers of very weak enemies at you.
Is that it? Are those the only similarities you're trying to push?
If that's as far as Ganker discussion of soulslikes go then this is a surface level brainlet thread. DS2 is a slow careful game which rewards spacing and movement by making rolls weak but giving enemies limited range and tracking. LotF gives everyone rollerskates and just wants you to parry or i-frame everything.
>LotF gives everyone rollerskates and just wants you to parry or i-frame everything
That's a good thing. Frick slow jank souls shit. ER suffered so hard because of it.
Does dual wield moveset only change if you have two of the same weapon? Im trying to use anything else with my Rosemund long sword but all the R1's are the same exact wide sweep no matter what hand I have it in
i'm pretty sure the dual wield moveset is based on your main hand weapon unless offhand is heavier
there's basically no real moveset variability within the game
Almost all of the dual wield movesets are exactly the same thing. Certain weapons swap the thrusting R2 for a swinging R2, but otherwise Daggers, Swords, Spears, Axes, Maces all do exactly the same thing at exactly the same speed so you just pick the longest weapon class with the most damage.
The balance is so fricked in this game. Bosses and enemies do way too much damage and you do frick all. Are the criticals broken atm because they barely do anymore damage than a couple of sword swings?
I'm still on Fieta because she has way too much health. It's just a pure endurance test of parrying and getting a the odd hit in there but really you can only damage her by criticals. What a shit firest fight. Its so annoying cause one frick up and its over and the fight lasts forever because just way too much health
eh she just has a bit too much health which makes the fight a slog, otherwise its an okay fight. They need to buff criticals damage in the next patch for sure
Umbral Eye of Loash is so fricking good, bros
Thanks for the help, anon from previous thread. Found it.
>mfw I picked Pyro Cultist
I found a great sword that scales well with Inferno and have been decimating enemies. The big sweep makes these fricking swarms more manageable and after two hits it triggers a fire explosion too.
Where
somewhere in lower calrath I think?
Nobody spoil it, but when you look out over a vista how accurate is what you see in the distance to the actual levels playable in the world?
You see all that shit down there? the bridges and shit? you can get there, eventually.
That bridge in the distance, I am there right now.
>TFW defeat Hushed Saint
>Didn't know where to go
>Thought I had to go back to Skyrest Bridge
>Didn't realize there was a path leading to the next vestige/area
>Ended up skipping an entire area and went to an area I was suppose to do later
>Gotta go back and do the area I skipped now
Fricking annoying as frick. The game gives you zero indication on where to go and in what order the areas are supposed to be played. You can play areas out of order apparently and just flat out miss some areas if you don't know where to go. Like I skipped all of Calreth and ended up doing the snowy village area instead, which you were suppose to do later in the game.
Kek you are actually this meme
Not really? I was able to navigate in Elden Ring just fine, but LotF does a horrible job nudging the player in the right direction or even explaining where to go. The areas have so many branching pathways and shit, it's easy to just venture off in the wrong direction.
>The areas have so many branching pathways and shit, it's easy to just venture off in the wrong direction.
And that's a good thing.
No it's not, it's a waste of time unless you love running past enemies.
people like you is why games nowadays are a fricking corridor
The only thing you need to know, is those bell doors
>The game gives you zero indication on where to go and in what order the areas are supposed to be played
Literal, actual, definite, moron
The game gives you maps at the start of every area that act as fricking walkthroughs
LMAO
>Maps
The maps are poorly designed and don't explain shit, how are you supposed to read that shit? It has landmarks and what not, doesn't actually explain where to find the landmarks or what direction to go in. It's a garbage ass navigation system/map design. The maps have been zero help for me personally, doesn't explain shit. The devs I guess thought it was good enough help, but it really isn't.
i never opened up the maps. is it accessed in the item menu or is there some frickin hotkey i dont know about?
I have no idea, you can go to the inventory screen and find the maps and when you select them there is no option to do anything with them. Total moron design. Good job the game is mostly linear anyway.
filtered by a sheet of paper, goodness gracious
The maps are literally incoherent scribbles or an arrow pointing at a door lke no shit game lol
If only you had some yellow paint.
The game is literally
> Follow the bells
> Follow the lights
> Follow the crosses
> Follow the hands
just enjoy the exploration and stepping into the unknown, homosexual.
have you never played a metroid game or something before, how old are you?

Every single person I invade is using that so I feel absolutely no shame in pressing the Pieta Summon from a mile away and one-shotting them.
TWO!?!?
This sword is so stupid. Radiance spells are the only spell school which matters, it has long range, its fast and it means you can totally ignore Str/Dex.
Plus WHY ARE ITEMS DETAILS TIED TO STATS.
you gotta pass the INT check to read the item bro
>Plus WHY ARE ITEMS DETAILS TIED TO STATS.
It's kind of steep actually, like you need at least 50 radiance or 50 inferno, or 50 in both to see the lore for item in the game.
i was hoping it would include an extra little bonus but its really just frickin lore only. and i really dont give a frick and im waiting for a dark souls 2 tier vaati vidya on it in the future.
>50
What the frick, thats insane.
>This sword is so stupid.
sour grapes
Everyone gets the sword you dumb Black person
NG+ I assume?
no, you are completely free to buy multiple copies of boss gear whenever you want
You are? When I bought Pieta's sword, it disappeared from her remembrance page. I was wondering how you managed to get two copies of her sword.
go check again, it should still be there
or maybe he "restocks" at certain intervals
it's gone from me
I'm at the ice area and it's still not restocked
DEEP LORE
>The Saint willingly was beheaded so his head could be used as a catalyst to power one of the beacons. Each beacon apparently has a different catalyst that is lore significant

Isn't it past your bedtime, zoomer?
Show started airing in 2001, moron.
That’s zoomer
So i got to the lil canyon after the swamp. swamp was a terrible place but im confused on the exploration there other than a pendant, because it just leads to the older areas of the swamp with the huts
terrible area though. holy frick im glad im out of there
but i hanged left after the swamp in some canyon, and fought a sinner Black person, got a sword but most of all upgrade materials. thank frick. but for some reason, the elevator leads to uh, skybridge but that only leads to the lift to the crypt area.
like frickin why?
when you reach the open area right after the swamp, go right instead of left
Oh right, frick.
just kinda trying to make sense of this elevator leading back to skybridge, because that shit was way earlier and i cant see the point.
The point is to ape the interconnected design of Dark Souls while making it completely pointless because you can just warp from the start. There’s a reason that Dark Souls gives you fast travel only after Anor Londo.
Just wait until NG+
>1.5% of people SAM'd the game
That seems abnormally high compared to other games I've checked
Also, the frick are the red lanterns on the ground for? I can hit them but nothing happens and they disappear. Are they like Nioh's red graves?
>Also, the frick are the red lanterns on the ground for?
this game's version of bloodstains
you activate them by grabbing them with your lantern
they will lead you to a powered up enemy that killed a player in another world, kill it for a reward
ty, I did everything except pressing R1 when shining the lantern on them
You use your lamp to pull them out.
>Going to pickup lost souls
>already in umbral when going to grab them
>They're right next to an item mimic that instantly kills me cause I interacted with it by accident
I'm legit mad.
anyway to tell with item mimics? i knew of one beforehand from helping someone in the swamp after horseman, but when i went myself, it wasn't there but instead around the corner
i watched a streamer ac ouple days ago. i forgot where he was but he got hit with a chest mimic but i cant tell with those either
the item thingy wiggles around when you get close to it
Do you just ignore the item or is there any way to get it/kill the Mimic? I've found two, one by some ruins after Horseman and one inside s side room (locked with thrnkey you buy from the Captain) next to the Bell room in Pilgrim's Cliff.
I read you can give them succ with the lantern but honestly the two I encountered before I uninstalled were in areas I didn't bother going back to
It's slightly bigger and wiggles(like bait).
It wiggles more erratically.
The snowy village area was honestly pretty easy to navigate and felt like a shorter area to me. Forsaken Fen though....yeah frick that place to hell.
Pilgrim's Perch is the first real area in the game and it's garbage as well. It's like a platforming area on the side of a cliff, genius.
for real it reminded me of early stormveil castle, or 1-1 demons souls, just that one fricking area to get in, and they just thought lets make a whole level like that
I’m currently on 2-1 Demon Souls and had no strong feelings about 1-1. What are you talking about?
the rafters on the side of the castle wall in 1-1 before the first boulder
and stormveil kinda the same, just stairs outside the wall to a balcony.
literally all that shit but worst with platforming.
I love that they start you off with pilgrims perch because it makes it clear what you're up against playing this game right off the bat. And it also forces you to become adept at the handling of the controls. Doing the umbral shit in it too is a genuine challenge.
It's actually a genius level and a really good filter
it is nice they show you just how shit the game is early, true
Filtered, case and point.
it was the swamp somehow being worse than Pilgrim's Perch for me, actually
The level design and enemy density are legitimate criticisms. You won’t understand until the burning city.
I thought Elden Ring was Dark Souls 2, but this game is unironically the true successor to Dark Souls 2's god awful enemy placement
I think what makes it even worse is that enemies don’t have a tether so they will just chase you through the entire level unless you kill them. Pretty much everything from Lower Calrath on is the run to Smelter Demon repeated over and over again in terms of bad enemy placement.
>be in the mines
>6 enemies in this room
>3 protected by a parasite
>parasite is across multiple cat walks
>requires you to sprint past all of the enemies to get in range to absorb
>casters trying to hit you while you get rushed by melee guys
>if you frick up and fall there’s several dogs waiting below to frick you
It’s just not fun.
The second half of pilgrims around the time when you see your first spiked barrel head is when it really got real because you must do the umbral puzzle while either attempting to evade or kill the barrel head WHILE getting sniped at by enemies you cannot reach until you complete the puzzle.
i picked the class with the bow and crow outfit so i abused the bow a lot. felt like it was a smart move on my part but yeah i was skippin tutorial or not reading them after a point like yankin doods off a cliff and refilling with the egg pods on the walls, specifically would be great for the iron head frickers.
you miss out on some pendants, a greatsword and 3 bosses on the way back to skycrest bridge
So can you guys tell me if this has ANYTHING to do with the original lotf. Any lore breadcrumbs.
Yes
unfortunately yes
>really want the Invader armor and special items
>this games netcode is fricking horrible meaning you basically are forced to play some kind of one-shot build and hope you hit them
>can't wait for a patch because then you'll never invade anyone ever
holy shit this is so fricking gay fricksdflsdkjfjslkdfl;ksdfjlkis
im not much of an invader but just helping people to farm souls, its so fricking ass man. i swear everyones on wifi, and i never get pc players.(xbock btw so its double shit)
its very hard to perfect parry or dodge even
It's not that. It's that the connection is entirely client side, so you literally always lag unless they're in the room right next to you. Even same state is useless. It's the absolute worst way to do online.
oh god thats frickin terrible.
For those that are curious the game doesn't appear to have a level cap, unless it's 9,999, and the stat cap might be 999 I guess, also the max damage cap is apparently 9,999,999.
Inb4 CHEAT ENGINE homosexual BLAH BLAH BLAH
>stats are through the roof
>weapon still does that little damage
so leveling damage stats is basically pointless here too, good to know
for weapons with good scaling, you're easily getting a hundred-ish more damage with about 50 or so into the damage stat
that dude's screenshot is probably with some unupgraded garbo
I haven't found the fricking blacksmith or whoever upgrades your weapon, haven't even figured how runes work yet, so yeah, my weapon isn't upgraded at all and I have a shit ton of upgrade stones, not sure if I missed the upgrade NPC, or they just don't appear till like halfway through the game.
I found some blacksmith b***h but couldn't reach her, she was trapped in some cage, figured it was part of a sidequest, just wasn't sure if that is who upgrades your weapons. Does Skyrest, the hub area, not have a blacksmith area or do they gain one later on?
the smith is in pilgrim's perch, directly underneath the bell room vestige
kill one of those idiots with the shields and he'll drop a key; give the key to the smith and she'll go to the bridge.
FRICK. I thought it was part of some sidequest or something to free her, didn't realize some random enemy in that area drops a key to the cell.
he drops it again dont worry. he dropped it for me after i revisted it because her door opens up and you can loot some shit in there and he happened to drop another key anyway.
if you have the pilgrim key, to the left of her cage leads outside, if you hang right runnin through all the hard frickin enemies, you can quickly loot the amulet in the human cage. it increases physical damage and defense
>if you have the pilgrim key, to the left of her cage leads outside, if you hang right runnin through all the hard frickin enemies, you can quickly loot the amulet in the human cage. it increases physical damage and defense
Yeah I remember that, I got that amulet, just hope there is a vestige nearby so I don't have to run ALL THE WAY back to where she's at. I hope I can remember how to get back to her.
there's a vestige right next to the elevator down to her
Thank god
bell room vestige's elevator, then drop down from the wooden walkway, and you're there.
>that’s fricking stupid
No, you’re fricking stupid lmao. It’s not the games fault you decided not to loot the glowing gold shit on the corpse.
you literally just kill the guy guarding her cage to get the key
>I haven't found the fricking blacksmith or whoever upgrades your weapon
she's in a weird spot, she's under the bellroom
you kill the dude patrolling with dogs around her cage and he drops the key, then you give it to her, she then appears in skyrest across from Sir gaysalot to the right of the bonfire thing
also make sure you think about a weapon you really need after you use your small frags, the upgrades get a bit scarce for a bit
The key to free her is literally in the same room you find her. You cheating monkeys really are braindead.
That's not even remotely true
almost half my damage is damage stat scaling, and my weapon isn't even maxed out yet
>lv73
>+4 weapons
what the frick
Soft cap for stats is 50 and the second, more brutal one, is 75. After that you get basically nothing.
encounter design's getting downright malicious in that burning town
It gets even worse later.
They all have the same moveset.
dear video games please stop doing this DS3 visual style thanks
>just want to co-op
>lag is beyond terrible
I hate this so much. This alone has caused me to give this game a negative review. Fix this you fricking hacks.
yeah this is a major frickin bummer considering i like being a sunbro homosexual and the game has incentives for beating bosses
>cant collect the items to get the sunbro set
this is bullshit
Can someone spoon feed me how boss loot works?
Do you get random parts of their gear or is there a logic behind it?
Also is co-op/ng the only way to farm more?
Same as Elden ring. Kill boss, unlocks weapons and armor at store.
the "bosses" without cutscenes are just normal enemies with a health bar, you'll find them later on.
This game is so jank, but I'm enjoying it quite a lot despite that since I pirated it. If I paid I would be pretty pissed at how shitty it is
Bros im using kukijis blade. should i use the witch's flail for more bleed or should i use the bloodseekerw/e short sword that is fire/bleed?
that b***h is so weak but i must fulfill her quest i guess. she was less than useless on horseman. literally eats a hit at the start of the battle.
Holy shit do you even sleep?
I really do hate how much you skate forward.
this reminds me. the lightning strike thing is smite right?
what does that shit even do lul? is it just like souls bleed but holy damage?
yeah, it's literally just Elden Ring bleed
yeah seems like bleed holy dmg.
the sliding in this game looks so fricking bad. how do people like this shit?
It has no shitty input delay like souls does. Combat is actually fluid and responsive in this game.
t.ds2gay
It controls nothing like DS2 though?
>It controls nothing like DS2 though?
lmao
that is nothing like DS2 you worthless moron
that is SOTFS not DS2 you worthless moron

u jelly?
>Why are you being a homosexual about things people like?

>u jelly?

DS1 arrow tracking
That's in Elden Ring too. Never understood why. It annoys me in this game, annoys me in Elden Ring too.
That and the fire salamanders are the only legit broken enemies in DS2
>That and the fire salamanders are the only legit broken enemies in DS2
It doesn't. Are you one of those mentally ill raiding discord trannies?
>discord trannies?
those are the ds2gays troony
you are worthless moron
>moron breaks the game with mods to make it look bad
breaks the game with mods to make it look bad
you are fricking delusional
What are you even trying to prove here?
that he's a moron and DS2 is too hard for him
>ds2
>hard
leaked footage of lords of the fallen alpha footage
>raiding discord trannies?
every single game that I've bought in the last year has had schizos like you in their threads calling anyone that criticizes the game a "discord troony"
According to Ganker, there are discords dedicated to raiding:
>ALL dark souls threads
>ALL Tears of the Kingdom threads
>ALL Armored Core threads (a lot of discords for this one)
>ALL Baldur's Gate 3 threads
>ALL Lies of P threads
>ALL LotF threads
Nothing wrong with criticizing a game.
He's saying the game plays like DS2 though which is factually incorrect.
All of which were in fact raided by discord trannies.
You knew that though, since you are one.
any sexy dexy weps? falchions scalng S U X!
There are some claw/fist type weapons, and some daggers. I got some scimitar/arab looking weapon when I accidently killed this petrified girl cause I didn't know how to free her, apparently it's part of a sidequest, but since I killed her I fricked it up, you get her sword though if you kill her.
Where do you get poison buffs from?
idk i don't play this game lmao
Why are you in a thread for a game you don't even play?
because I've been busy with remote work and I browse here when I take breaks to shit post and I'm considering pirating the game when I have time to play in a few days
>busy with remote work
larp
>pirating the game when I have time to play in a few days
even more embarrassing larp
Look at his filename for that webm, he's in here to shitpost and troll.
To answer your question, I believe you can get poison coating items from a certain enemy, don't know what they're called but they can emit like a poison cloud attack from their bodies. I think you don't start encountering them till the snowy village area, Kalinger or whatever the frick it's called? Or maybe it's in Forsaken Fen? All I know is a certain enemy drops the poison coating item.
Forever relevant.
there's an umbral spell from ghost dad for it
You can get it from the Umbral guy after some point
Who is the umbral guy?
Surely you didn't just skip past him or didn't bother exploring around Skybridge. You have to SHIFT into the Umbral world to see him, but there is a cthulhu looking NPC in a room in Skybridge that can upgrade your lantern and sell you umbral spells and other goodies, also the guy who sells you boss equipment for remembrances like Elden Ring.
He's in a room right behind Pieta on the left up some stairs, you really can't miss it.
Oh that guy, yeah I've talked to him.
the lumpy dde in the umbra in the skybridge sells enchant weapons poison. it requires a catalyst thing
Did they hire Fromsoft for the netcode?
What's his endgame?
Discord Doom posters. Unironically.
ive been giving this cleric homie all the sinner shit i've found like, what is this even doing exactly?
Kek I've been wondering the same thing
Reload the area after each item you give him and he'll sell some new shit. He's got some really nice looking armor sets, for example. I've been rolling the Vanguard one, pimp coat with plate armor. He's probably going to go full whack by the end if this game is anything like Souls with their quests though.
Where the frick did Damarose go
To suck some demon wiener like the prostitute that she is.
show a character that doesn't look like shit in the character creator
If I didn't upgrade to 1gb internet i'd be so pissed at the constant 40gig updates right now.
Is dual weilding a meme or is it actually worth doing?
It looks cool but I personally think it's really slow, though you do good damage, obviously you dual wield heavy weapons it'll be slow, trading speed for power.
I do like that the game will let you basically dual wield anything with something else for funny/crazy combinations. You can dual wield a sword and a flail or a greatsword and a great hammer, etc.
unfortunately there's only like three dual wield movesets total
As apposed to most souls games averaging around 0.5 dual wield movesets?
>personally think it's really slow
OK that makes sense enough
thee's 2 short swords with dual statuses on them. you dual wield them that's 4 status elementals at once.
Cool it's the Penitent from Blasphemous.
Oh look its the quitter gay who's using cheat engine.
Worth doing
Is there a smith in this game? I can't find him in the hub?
you have to find her in Pilgrim's Pass and save her
Thanks.
Every zone has like 2 archers and mages constantly shooting at you
I shouldn't be enjoying this but I am
spells and throwables are extremely long reaching in this game, use one
It's the way it was always meant to be
>the snake crossbowmen
AHHHH I HATE THEM.
>finally get into one's face
>get nothing but stabbings and mines for your trouble
whats the quickest way to this visage dude in the forshitter frickfestforest?
There isn't really a "quick shortcut" way, you just have to follow the path in the area and you'll eventually reach a vestige checkpoint, it's around the halfway point through the area, and then there is another vestige near the boss arena at the end of the area which leads to the next area.
Fextralife has a detailed guide with images if you really want to know where to go and what to look for, not really shilling Fextralife but the guide is actually pretty detailed and helpful, even has writing on the images explaining which paths lead where.
im already past it in the fitsroy place but im lookin at fextra and its tellin me theres a book to give the cleric Black person behind the visage boss so i gotta go visit him. just cant remember the quickest way to get to it.
i just remember that you see wolf skeleton armor big Black person in umbral and around the corner after flickin bamboo leads to some tumbleweeds falling down but my god this place is frickin awful and i hate it
How the frick do you raise the rank of your covenant?
I've killed at least 100 people now. I have 16k+ Hands. And I'm still not a rank 2??????????????????????????????????
It's cumulative for the players as a whole
Well that is absolute bullshit.
Are there any large, pointy wizard hats in this game?
This is important.
There is this, and you get a giant spiky cage helmet, but so far that's about all I've seen/found.
I can't figure out what I want my first playthrough to be. I keep restarting and picking the different starting classes for specific damage stats.
pick bucketman, he can do any class just fine
You either light the beacons, dont light them, or there is an ultra rare fricked up annoying questline for the Umbral ending.
I only bonk. Me use Faithful Bludgeon. Bonk.
why is it so ugly
>ugly
it's literally got better art direction than elden ring?
it's only "ugly" because most people's PCs are too shit to run the game on max
do i have to use range on these stilt homies in the forest?
You can knock them down by hitting their stilts
You can also use your lamp on them and the stilts will collapse, but probably easier to just hit them instead of wasting your lamp juice.
>Run into the Lightreaper again
>"Oh yeah, time to kick his ass"
>I get my ass kicked
Bros...
he was training and leveling up his character, just like you 🙂
>didn't beat him in the tutorial
you never beat lightreaper
Some runes affect both weapons, some only affect the weapon they are on.
The rune that increases 2h damage affects your mainhand weapon when in an offhand weapon. If you find a weapon with three circle runes slots you can get a 27% damage increase by stacking them.
>apparently missed a saint upgrade flask in the forest
what a terrible place
There is a saint upgrade in Kalinger or whatever it's called, but couldn't figure out how to get to it, like you have to do drop in from the ceiling I guess or there is some secret entrance/path to get to it. I'm sure I've missed at least 1-2 saint upgrades so far, and what sucks is after the first 2-3 upgrades, Pieta is going to start asking for TWO saint upgrade things for ONE upgrade.
i cant tell what you mean. maybe tahts farther than i am. im only at fitzroy but i need all the healing i can get
>tfw already have a maxed out weapon
>still only have 5 healing charges
wait if i die to lightreaper again at calrath from fitzroy, i cant rematch him there?
yes, it seems you get one shot at an early kill after the tutorial
I think there's another at the end of the snow area, but I beat him first try so idk if it's another one time deal
It's a one time deal.
t. Fricking died
>equip heaviest armor
>equip biggest sword
>put healing circle on group
>press heavy attack until everything is dead
Yep. This is gaming.
Where get sword
Me need big sword
Grug teach heathens lesson
It's a Radiant Sword. Not STR. You find it past the Bellroom Door. Need the key that costs 9k in hub.
Oh the spot with the Blasphemous rip off guy and his gorillion butt buddies with too much HP? Fug
Besides the jank is this game actually any good? May pick it up during the winter sale if it is. This and Remnant 2 since I thought the first was alright.
very janky but nice exploration and some cool ideas
Is the gameplay good? I can tolerate jank if the game is at least fun to play.
the gameplay is alright for the most part, my biggest niggle is the dodges and attacks fling you around a bit too much
beyond that, the game is basically dark souls but you also have a gravity gun and the sekiro parry
I'll probably wait a while, see if they can't patch some things and get it on sale.
The lightreaper frick right after ruiner is tearing my ass apart.
Just give him your lamp bro
How do you leave someones game after killing a boss with them? I do not give a frick about persisting in their world past helping them on the boss
Do I seriously have to back out to the main menu every time?
Does the game have catalysts that scale with physical stats like the Clawmark Seal in Elden Ring. Stuff like doing a Bestial incantation High Strength/Low Faith build
No and str/fai is pointless in this game there are tons of radiant scaling weapons that need very little str and hit even harder because almost nothing resists radiant damage.
radiance is for gays though
shame
he's full of shit. there's a ton of great Str/Fth weapons in the game
it's like homies see one good sword and assume that's the only way to play. shit you don't even know if that's the best sword or not. it's day 2
metaslaves. I fricking swear
This game has no builds except Strength, Agility, Radiance and Inferno
It's THAT dull
>Kill Horseman boss yesterday
>Go to bed
>Get up ready for some Sunday gaming
>Boot the game up
>The next area right after is more poison swamp
Some motherfricker saw Old Hunters and went "yeah everyone hated the Fishing Hamlet, lets just make two vast areas of that back to back!". I can see people dropping the game here, too. It's just that bad.
there's not much swamp left after horse guy, thankfully
>found that dragon knight guy from the tutorial
>he kicked my ass all over again
Am I in the wrong area again? I feel like I keep taking the wrong turn.
nah, he's supposed to do that
Wait - if I go back will he disappear again?
yes, he doesn't do rematches early on
Oh okay. Well here I was thinking I had made a wrong turn or something. I know I'm missing a frick load, but every time I turn somewhere I think I'm meant to go, shit instantly has like 4 times more health.
>Sunless Skein
I am so fricking lost. I've been trying to unlock these "Door does not open from this side" bullshit for hours
that's definitely the most maze like area in the game
i can't even remember how I finally found the path through
The Lords have Fallen
Billions must die
and they can't get up!
No wonder I never found flask upgrades. They're all in the umbral world from those glowing containers with halo on em. Pic related
bro, are you not supposed to basically always be in umbral?
It's too spooky in umbral mode ;_;
Give it to me straight. is the game good? I have nothing to play and want to buy a new game that keeps me busy until Spiderman on Friday.
it's fun but just okay, i'd wait for a sale is 50-60 bucks means something to you
Ok thanks. I haven't bought Lies of P yet so maybe I'll do that instead.
The real downsides are the shitty areas and enemy placement, it's not as bad as Dark Souls 2 but it's fricking trying its best to reach that level.
tl; dr yes, get it from a keysite though
It’s worse than Dark Souls 2. Not by much but it’s definitely worse. If it didn’t have the Umbral bullshit I would agree but the forced Umbral world stuff just takes all of the flaws and makes them worse.
Yeah the Umbral shit is way worse but that doesn't really have to do with enemy placement, that just has to do with it being a dogshit mechanic where they game spawns enemies indefinitely and then proceeds to punish you for killing them. Has anyone killed the Red Menace yet?
I've been farming him for shrimp
what level are you? I'm 60 and he's kicking my ass.
People cheese it by making it take fall damage. I don't think you can reliably kill it without being super high level since it has so much hp
It’s fricking ridiculous.
>the Red Menace
Yes, he just respawns immediately.
He respawns after 3 minutes.
I know because I’ve been tricking him into falling off a cliff for an hour.
To save Kukajin do I HAVE to cast a cleanse spell or is there any other way? I have like 8 Radiance
You need something you can cast on others
You probably got it some time ago
It's something you can throw
Empyrean Grenade
Throw the holy healing bottle at her.
damn, I'm surprised. based on people's descriptions, this seems like the first soulslike to actually take exploration seriously and be more like DS1 than DS2 and 3 supposedly? might actually consider buying now.
Imagine if every level was Blighttown with Shrine of Amana's casters
There isn't actually a whole lot of exploring to do. The game is incredibly linear it's just that the game has two worlds and you have to shift between them to progress.
The downside is the enemy placement is fricking awful. It's purposefully made to be as tedious and frustrating as possible. It's not uncommon to run into huge groups of enemies where some of them are invincible until you do a gimmick, while being sniped from a mile away by archers that fire homing explosive arrows in volleys of 4-6 shots.
>The Game is incredibly linear.
You can but it is obviously not intended at all.
>but it is obviously not intended at all
You're a fricking moron. if it's not intended it wouldn't be an option.
Was probably added last minute without any real thought to it. You're clearly not suppose to grind for an hour to unlock an area where everything 1 shots you but has thousands of health while you hit them for 10 damage.
Maybe you can do it, but it's clearly not the intended route you're suppose to take through the game and trying is honestly pointless.
i think if you don't level before pieta, you can buy it with all the souls you have + hers
>design a whole different progression route
>"Was probably added last minute"
Holy are you moronic
It's more like using the belfry gargoyle souls to buy the garden key in ds1. I'm sure plenty of people did that in their first run and while the enemies there where harder did people b***h and complain? No.
It’s not the intended route for a first run of the game like taking the master key and skipping blight town isn’t the intended route for your first play of Dark Souls.
Clear the swamp area and you'll be fine to do the two areas the key unlocks. I did it out of order and it was fine.
Imagine Dark Souls 2 but with much easier bosses, no ADP stat, and all of its problems with level design and enemy density/placement doubled down on.
So.... There are unlockable classes, right?
Is there an Umbral class? And if so, how do I unlock it?
you need to get the umbral ending
Seriously? Fugggg
>beat not-capra demon
>take 2 steps out of the cave onto a bridge
>fall down right into not-ulcerated spirit
what a shitload of frick
can't decide if umbral weapon enchant is worth it over holy enchant?
Yeah. It's stupid how there are 3 fricking dodges assigned to one dodge button and which one you get seems semi-random.
Makes you wonder what the frick the developers were even thinking.
>3 dodges
There's two, a roll and a sidestep that only happens if you're locked on to something
Do scene releases even get updates or do I really have to get this repack shit now to get the latest version?
favorite level in the game so far, I love huge ass mansion/castle levels
How good are spears?
fantastic. very safe to use as long as you are still watching the enemy for their gap-closers
Cute, thanks. I am getting the game next week and was trying to decide between some faith spear character and something else.
Can you still do the Dark Crusader unlock questline with the goodgoy edition that has it unlocked by default?
Yeah it's one of the ending unlocking it or so I've heard
kino of the fallen
>watching people stream the game
>people using any excuse not to be in the umbral
>mfw watching the miss FRICKING EVERYTHING
Just so you homosexuals in this thread know, The Umbral holds all the best shit. And invisible walls. Pic related.
>The devs took the "Scared of the red man" meme seriously
>Now a scary red man guards the version of the world with all the best loot
It's because of the endless enemy fricking spawns and effectively being on a time limit before a giga homie comes to frick you up. Just makes an already tedious game even worse to play. Can't say I blame them.
Doesn't this game have a thorns/reflect build so all those goobers would just kill themselves?
There seems to be almost no build variety at all. And I have yet to find a piece of equipment with any unique or special effect. Everything is just different stats and for weapons they sometimes have an element or status effect.
That's a real damn shame. Is there at least a good variety of movesets with the different weapons?
All weapons of a certain type have the same movement. If you've swung one axe, you've swung them all, boss weapons included.
Maybe if they cheated like you, they wouldn't be in umbral so sparingly
Just farm shit so you can buy infinite consumables, moron
>new game comes out
>Immediately looking for guides on how to play
You're sad.
this is just cheating with some other steps
If it's possible in game without abusing glitches, then it's not cheating.
My video.
>new game comes out
>immediately look for guides
>copy someone's guide and post yourself on the internet
>shill your video on a random anonymous imageboard
You're even sadder than I first thought.
>look for guides
>created itself
>only posted video when you cried to provide proof
cry harder and keep giving (you)'s
Cope, I'm not even the guy who asked for the video.
Hope the views keep the lights on in your shack, Diwata!
>If it's possible in game without abusing glitches
You're abusing pathing to avoid fighting the Reaper but still collecting the rewards from it, just use a trainer instead.
Holy shit what a fricking cope. You've got to be baiting.
>skips the fight but claims the rewards
It's totally not cheating you guys!!1
First souls game?
Ah so you didn't beat them either, gotcha.
Yes, that's 100% okay. Are you moronic?
It's not though. Hell, the Umbral fully intends for you to mostly rush through. That's like... the core part of the Umbral.
This is such a bizarre hill to die on for a Souls game.
Cheating is badass!
Yes but as some other anon pointed out earlier, the whole concept of the Umbral is that it's supposed to be a spooky place with horrors beyond comprehension. Early game it's just another layer of exploration, later on it's basically the Berserk Eclipse, except you're not Guts, you're one of the Band of the Hawk grunts.
m/k or controler bros
It is time.
Never fricking mind
The lag truly is fricking insane
if you bought this game for the multiplayer refund right fricking now
Nah I didn't, just doing it for a change of pace
I need more fricking money holy shit I can't afford anything.
>can't afford consumables
>can't affort different armor
>can't afford to try other weapons because upgrading costs an arm and a leg
Non level up prices should all be cut in half with how much money you're getting.
So this is a good game but it's just extremely buggy at the moment, is this correct?
pretty much
also performance issues out the wazoo
correct
It's a slightly worse Dark Souls 2, so whether that's good to you depends on your tastes.
How the frick do I get my Mana back???????
Am I basically fricked if I spend it all until I find another... vestige thingy?
There are mana consumables, you can buy more
use an ether moron, it's the blue stone
They cost an absurd amount to get though???
300 is nothing.
If you think you can just play the game without farming, you're in a wrong genre of gaming.
Huh, okay. Guess I'll just farm 100k Souls and buy 300 of them
Thanks anons.
bros is the game good if i dont give a shit about the coop and dont have a fricking toaster? need something to pass a rainy sunday
the ranged attacks from enemies you can hardly reach and infinite enemy spam in umbral makes this game not fun for me, i would refund but have 5 or 6 hours already maybe if pick performance as reason they allow refund i hope
Speaking of grug, where are the big giga homie STR weapons and which are any good?
earliest one is a big ass bone club under the hub area
Where under the hub? I poked around there pretty thoroughly I think.
just follow this pathway that's under the first area, it goes back into an area under the castle
Could have sworn I looked around there. After the rich noble dude down the stairs next to where the blacksmith ends up?
nah, you go down the side of the canyon, then double back
There's also this axe that's been carrying me for a while now. I don't remember exactly where I got it but it was on the way to the swamp I'm pretty sure
PSA for potato PC anons (anything under a 40XX):
Turn Lighting and Reflections to Medium, High and Ultra turn on UE5's memetracing on and that's why it depletes fps.
thanks bro
Disabling EAC also helps.
3080ti doesn't seem to have issues with reflection/lighting on high
Considering what memetracing normally does to FPS I'm kind of surprised.
You can reclaim more vigor losses than the last one?! I just found my vigor stain from 2 deaths ago. I don't think that happened before.
Don't think so, but sometimes enemies steal your bloodstain and you have to kill them to get it back. Maybe once an enemy has it they will keep it until you kill them for it?
Yeah I know that mechanic. This wasn't it. There were just 2 stains.
Any webms? I want to see if this is Korea's first video game or if they still don't have the gameplay aspect down yet.
there's not much to show in a webm, there's not sick moves or anything, you just dodge and hit like most souls games, maybe do some sekiro parries
did they even playtest this game
Devs unironically use speedrunners and streamers as their QA now
The seed system is really stupid. You place a seed and the current gets 'deleted', so you now can't go to the one before. And it's consumables. This idiots placed a bed in the boss room of the flesh congregator, and one right after the boss room, where there is a Vestige just a little further. Fricking stupid, this may ruin my experience.
Hey anon hey psst there are no preplaced vestiges in NG+, enjoy.
Hah, as if I would play through NG+. But thanks anyway anon. What a shit game.
>You place a seed and the current gets 'deleted', so you now can't go to the one before
yeah no shit, that's the fricking point. You don't get to make the game all cushy by putting 2000 bonfires everywhere, it's a one-time deal
Gay. There are too many enemies in this shit show. I hate the Umbral world.
>You don't get to make the game all cushy by putting 2000 bonfires everywhere
they are rare you worthless moron
Not that rare. You can buy them for 2500 which is a trivial amount after you get past the early game hurdles
you can also farm them by killing the big face monsters
there's one after fitzeroy's gorge and one under calrath in the mines
they have a very high drop rate on seeds + trio healing stones
>you can also farm them
just make it so you can have only a few active and the rest gets deleted
no reason to delete all of them
Invasions are terrible.
My invasions are basically;
>invade in
>lock on instantly because you're never more than a few feet from people in what is usually an empty map
>press nuke spell
>they die
>goes to umbral if they're not already there
>charge spell before they can even react out of the death cutscene
>they instantly die again
Already bought all the Invader items. Donated 10k Hands already.
what are the invader items?
it doesn't seem like there's any matchmaking system, it's just a free for all, so yeah, max out your weapon first before you invade
+5 radiant weapon pietta's sword demolishes people
Seriously? I'm invading people in the end game with my +2 Greatsword...???
that's what it feels like, i was tickling other players and getting splattered when I did some early invasions, but now I'm fricking darth vader with my +5 lightsaber
I just had a nice duel with an invader. 1v1, no magic, no healing. Almost reminded me of the good old days. There seems to be a random chance of getting a Blue Phantom though.
please please please please PLEASE post a webm of your invasions dear god im fricking begging
>all weapons have the same animation within the weapon classes
>which means there's basically no variety or progression for pure melee, casters get weapons from all weapon classes AND spells on top of it
What a moronic game
Fitzeroy armour + greatsword
17str + 19 agi for the sword and the armour itself weigh 74.7
Probably need like 30 endurance to to be in medium roll range. It's a full on heavy armour so get like 750+ phys defense
one of the best looking sets in the game
Seems like most complains are about the badly thought out multiplayer.
Does that mean the single player is actually good enough?
did you like das2? do you want to play das2 but with shittier animations and twice the enemies?
yes and yes
>did you like das2?
The only thing I hated about das2 is the stupid level design like the bonfire and that room.
You know which bonfire and which fricking room.
And Soul Level ranges, don't forget about those. And, this might come as a weird complaint, that it's excessively long and the DLC just pile on top of that.
>Seems like most complains are about the badly thought out multiplayer.
no they aren't you fricking moron
Do you get a STR bonus from two handing?
it's just a damage bonus, not limited to STR.
if you're asking if you can reach STR requirements by 2 handing? no
Having tried to test some damage calcs and there is something fricky going on, their displays may not be correct.
They really need to fix the online. It is the worst I've ever experienced.
Left a negative review for that alone. Frick you homosexual shills. Get your shit in order.
I wish I could just attack enemies without fear of my character launching off into some chasm.
how do I open the door at the other end outside peita's bossroom?
the one with the fire skelly
that area isn't available until later when you open the bell doors
Game fun. Miss me stomp from elden ring. Simple as.
Patch is out. Slight nerfs to some enemies damage and lunge attacks. Mostly bug fixes.
I'm not seeing it.
These devs will seriously be like
>All "walking corpses" have had their charged attack damage reduced from 1.18 to 0.8.
Who are they trying to fool?
you expect them to just patch in a bunch of movesets out of nowhere, day 2?
If they care enough to adjust the anticipation animation of a generic trash zombie for better readability on Day 2, why couldn't they have done anything about the rest of the entire fricking game during 9 years of development.
Cause everything else is working as intended you filtered manchild?
lmfao
Where are the patch notes?
this shit look so bad
no wonder ds2Black folk are glazing this game
OHNONONONO DAS2SISTERS?!?!?!
you are a worthless moron
DS2 is the best souls game you moron
DS2 was really the peak for me
So here's the real question:
What's the stat that increases Luck?
What's the Blueblood Sword?
Are there runes that can change weapons to scale with said stat? Like Hollow in DS3?
I'm a sucker for LUK
>LUK
Doesn't exist.
>Blueblood Sword
Might as well be Pieta's Sword, pure radiance scaling straight sword with insane range.
>Scaling Runes
Yeah.
>Might as well be Pieta's Swor
Where do you get it? Is it early game or later? Please use spoiler tags if it is the latter.
Fairly early but expensive boss weapon.
Has it something to do with her remembrance? I don't know how to use them.
You'll have to find a key item and give it to Molhu to unlock boss gear.
Thank you for spoon feeding me anon. I appreciate
>beat fleshbag and get to swamp
>teleport back to the perch and do some backtracking
>find miniboss and end up using my flower
>now locked out of the swamp
Bros... it's over for me...
There is a Vestige after the first mini pond right after the bossroom. I also used up a seed, just to find a Vestige a few meters ahead. It's super gay.
Are they gonna be ok?
>every single person I invade has Pieta's Sword
Why is this? I keep rolling these gays. So it can't be an amazing weapon.
Youtubers made "super op early game build" videos
big range, good moveset and it has good damage
people are using it as two-hand wait until morons figure out to dual wield it for quick holy enchant procs
>quit game
>come back on
>my inferno (Main stat) has been set to fricking 0
????????????????????????????
I just realized it has completely re-done all my fricking stats
I was playing Condemned and spamming Radiance/Inferno for Umbral spells, and I somehow now have 0 inferno, 15 radiance, 21 strength, 29 vitality, 21 endurance
What the frick?
wtf
Were you doing multiplayer? Apparently there's a bug where it can rearrange your stats. Possibly when a host disconnects. Happened to my brother and he also got 0 inferno.
Yeah, some invasions + co-op earlier
I just realized it bumped my level up to 60 as well, I was around 29 or so before
This is actually fricking stupid
>been doing invasions all day
>haven't even bothered checking stats
Oh no... Time to log on and check my stats.
Just cheat engined my level back to 30 and gave myself 8k vigor to buy the respec thing
Guess I'm not fricking touching online then
oh, I was actually about to look into cheat engine. does EAC not ban you for that? did you have to go offline?
I just loaded it back up and it said level 30 on the character select, then when loading it, it reset back to 60 LOOOOL
I just fricking deleted it, I was only 3 hours in and can get there in <2hours tomorrow because I know what to do anyway
I thought it may have copied his hosts stats, but now I see you have the same fricking statspread as he got. lmao. I wonder what is happening under the hood in this piece of shit.
>6 bat midgets in a little room
That cistern platforming section is awful.
I love it.
>went to the ice area after calrath
>missed the entire underground mine area
I thought the game was linear?
When is the earliest time period when you can buy Pieta's sword?
40 of those things seem like a lot.
What is the key item you have to give that umbral guy in the hub?
Bowl of Revelation or something
dunno, it was some garbage i picked up in the pilgrim area, the entire thing was a moronic clusterfrick so i don't remember where exactly was it
Frick, yes the pilgrim blight town 2.0 is utter shit.
Holy shit. The Umbral gets fricking insane later on. I feel like a random pleb entering the Astral World. Only, instead of being GATSU, I'm one of the billion plebs who get raped and murdered by demon horses.
>two endings are just flavour of "frick you, you're dead"
>the only one who rewards you is a so called evil god of the setting
Spoil the endings for me, anon. I want to know what they are.
Sex with Aedyr!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice. Guess I'm going for the Aedyr ending and I'm gonna frick his tight little ass.
>made all those weapon models
>forgot to give then AT LEAST SOME MOVESET VARIABILITY
What's the fricking point in finding a new hammer if it has literally the same moveset as the bone one you find within 1.5 hours?
DS2 chad here. I have no clue what the frick you're all talking about. The only similarities I can see between this piece of shit and DS2 are that the animations are kind of janky mocapslop in both cases, although DS2's are still worlds ahead of LotF's, and the fact that the game often throws large numbers of very weak enemies at you.
Is that it? Are those the only similarities you're trying to push?
>DS2 chad
stopped reading right there
I think it's the slower animations and SOTFS groups of enemies
If that's as far as Ganker discussion of soulslikes go then this is a surface level brainlet thread. DS2 is a slow careful game which rewards spacing and movement by making rolls weak but giving enemies limited range and tracking. LotF gives everyone rollerskates and just wants you to parry or i-frame everything.
>by making rolls weak
or be the rolling god of invincibility
>LotF gives everyone rollerskates and just wants you to parry or i-frame everything
That's a good thing. Frick slow jank souls shit. ER suffered so hard because of it.
If you want a fast and responsive arpg, just play wo long, not this shit.
Wo Long is shit. Huge downgrade from Nioh.
How do you do an umbral execution?
when can I actually buy boss items? Just got to skyrest bridge
Go umbral in skyrest
I did, talked to the vendor there he didn't have any option for remembrances
Oh right, you need the pot first. You get it in not-blighttown at the bottom, its surrounded by those annoying butterfly/bug enemies.
You give it to the witch in sky and she can make boss items, too bad you cant though because its a unique currency and you barely get any.
>the DS2 autist is here
there are multiple itt, the ones that like ds2 that is
take your meds you worthless moron
Should I buy the game on xbox or on pc? My pc is below the recomm specs (rtx 2060)
Pirate it to see how well it runs.
runs like shit on both, only PS5 runs well
Does Gerlinde matter by the point I can do the Umbral ending? I want the ending but runes seem to useful to just give up
If you give the final tablet to Sparky he teaches you runesmithing at vestiges.
>t.take your meds you worthless moron
The forward sliding is fricking moronic
Who the frick designed this Ruiner boss? lmao AOE in a small area so hard!
What's the best place to farm seeds? Too many times I've put one down only to have a vestige or a better seedbed like 3 minutes away
Once you get the ice area vestige there's a mask guy in the umbral version of the miniboss arena, he drops them often.
does armor actually matter in this game or can I go unga bunga with no clothing?
There's a semi heavy set that leaves your torso entirely explosed if you're into that sort of thing
The balance is so fricked in this game. Bosses and enemies do way too much damage and you do frick all. Are the criticals broken atm because they barely do anymore damage than a couple of sword swings?
What? Asmongold steamrolled Frieda in 1 try and he sucks shit at videogames.
I'm still on Fieta because she has way too much health. It's just a pure endurance test of parrying and getting a the odd hit in there but really you can only damage her by criticals. What a shit firest fight. Its so annoying cause one frick up and its over and the fight lasts forever because just way too much health
Sounds like a skill issue to me.
eh she just has a bit too much health which makes the fight a slog, otherwise its an okay fight. They need to buff criticals damage in the next patch for sure
Am I fricked on the Umbral ending if I cleansed one beacon
no
wtf they released the same game again? I thought it was a DLC or something
Is it better than the first one? I heard it was dogshit
