I was always a hexdex gay and went dark orb rapier spam for the rest of the game, and just enough strength to wield large club so I could flatten the dlc mobs. My builds were moronic but hey they were effective
why are heavy weapons always so op in these games?
they always make it so you completely invalidate enemies because every swing makes them fall over and you generally get hyper armor if they somehow don't
Dark Souls and its illegitimate children are honorary turn-based games, where you wait for your enemy to attack and then get your turn. Heavy weapons either stagger or pancake enemies, effectively forcing them to skip their turn, and allowing you to attack again.
LotF HAS hitpause and it's awful, it's done in a way which makes certain weapons worse at cleaving because it slows your sweep down in real time
Meanwhile in Japan games you literal could feel the attack weight even without sound, why is that?
>why is that?
Mostly because Asian animations can properly sell the body movements necessary to make it look like they're accelerating something heavy. The important movements are the ones before and after the sweep of the weapon when the character is overcoming inertia. MH shows the player initially coiling and straining to get the weapon moving, then once it is moving it moves fast across the screen as you would expect from a dangerous attack.
In LoTF the subtle body movements before and after a swing are lacking while the swings themselves are slow and often float at a steady pace instead of showing the strained acceleration and deceleration that you would expect from overcoming inertia.
an even bigger weapon around even faster
..because it's Monster Hunter, it's not realistic, this is pretty obvious if you aren't staggeringly low IQ. Nonetheless, the weight placed on the hunter is clearly communicated with the animations.
>the weight placed on the hunter is clearly communicated with the animations
It isn't. It looks just as goofy and weightless as the animations in LotF.
Are you seriously comparing a franchise that had two decades of work behind it, with each title adding more solid bricks to the pyramid, with a soulslike AA game? Monster Hunter World's animations are simply the best in the entire industry when it comes to third person action games and it's not even close. It's like comparing a state of the art supercar with a family SUV.
Not him, but anon? You really need to eventually accept that you're in the minority, even on Ganker. Especially if you're some kind of OMEGA homosexual moron who likes Gen/GenU.
>all the youtubers said it was going to be fun
Every one I looked at playing it refused to play it any more after they got to a point. Limealicious did a sponsored stream and refused to play it any more once time was up, and she has played through every soulslike to the end, even if she thought it was jank.
This is actually a shame because there is a nice game hidden in here, it's just that all the raw combat mechanics like the animations and the controls are arse. The appeal of the game is in its exploration/level design which picks up around halfway through and remains good where other soulslikes get shitty because the game stubbornly refuses to give you lots of healing items or spam bonfires all over the world. Obviously you can break the game with various poorly thought out build options but if you don't then you have some really fun long stretches of exploration with very limited resources.
You didnt need to deactivate the lamp to have him fall through. Only you and umbral monsters can walk on umbral ground others will just fall through it.
If your game is going to function like this, it should be required that the player needs the full stamina available to perform the attack, that way they can't just wait for there to be a sliver of green bar that nets them a charged auto-stagger hit they can endlessly spam.
>This game was supposed to be bad
it is bad you moronic shill
what the frick is wrong with ranged weapons in this game? They're abusrdly overtuned. I don't even remember where I found this thing but it does more damage than the skin and tooth ULTRA greatsword at 40 strength. What the frick?
>what the frick is wrong with ranged weapons in this game? They're abusrdly overtuned.
because you are supposed to cheese your way with them
huh? where the frick is that explained? Also how do I equip armor dyes / runes, I just got a poison rune while farming one of the lion rat dudes in the swamp
>umbral finisher
I had to look up what that is. Basically you need to "kill" the enemy when doing the soulflay so that 100% of its remaining health is withered. It will then enter a critical state and doing a backstab/frontstab will cause your character to do a unique animation with the lamp.

Throwing weapons can't be upgraded so instead enhanced versions of them can be found. What upgrade level is your melee weapon at? It would be better to compare it when maxed.
Uhh this hammer is actually broken. I just started looking through the wiki and it seems like a major oversight. If you get the pilgrim key and run through the path of devotion area you can get the hammer which does some insane damage and will basically one shot almost all mobs for the first 1/3rd of the game. Picrel is the hatchet which is found in the same area (but locked behind an easily cheesed boss) and it's good but nowhere near as OP as the hammer

Okay the hammers numbers do seem off now that I compare it others.
Having beaten the game it's just a broken throwing weapon. Even +9 best scaling crossbow wasn't as good. My melees at +10 were -just- there, but again, the hammer throws came out faster and stronger and distance safety.
By the end of the game I have 40 ammo pouches, and probably a 100 of the other one. Whenever anything got "difficult"(tedious) I could just use it to get through basically anything.
Honestly though the greatswords felt shit in general. Heavy af for no reason, slower than the hammers, awful L1+R2, I don't get why they exist.
do you mean longswords (greatswords from souls?) or the grand/ultra big swords? I've been using what looks similar to a claymore, but hoping to get a pure strength giant sword soon. Just beat the guy on a horse before first story lamp of 5.
A little worried nothing will feel better than the longsword been using.
nice, thanks. i've heard some talk that weapon class isn't very good, is it true? I tried the unga bunga hammer you can find pretty early, but while the damage was relatively nice the slowest charge attack speed really hurt. and it's lack of sweeps for smacking multiple things at once, since it's almost a requirement on a weapon it feels like. or I might just be relying too hard on the 2h r2 charge attack on longsword.
No it's a problem with the game. This is the earliest pure strength grand sword you can get and it's also the best one in the game. Your options are to either stick with the claymore or switch to the grand hammer or the angel axe until you get this. There's a quality grand sword in the swamp but it requires 25 str / 20 dex which is moronic, and it also does wither damage so it's a piece of shit but at least it gets the grand sword moveset which is good.
The game feels significantly better for my strength build now that I've gotten this. It's a huge problem that it's so late into the early game.

What's wrong with Wither damage?
Anonymous
Wither damage is just bad. It's fricking awful. You want to avoid weapons that deal wither damage if possible. Wither damage works the exact same way as it does to you - it's rally damage. Enemies take wither damage from your swings and it's not cemented until you hit them again, and they can regenerate all of it if they hit you. So in reality you weapon deals it's normal damage minus the wither damage it shows on the stat sheet for the first hit.
Wither damage could work if the weapons did a lot more damage to encourage an aggressive build, but they don't, the wither damage is just considered normal elemental damage. I don't even know if there are enemies weak to it but having wither damage on a weapon is an active debuff.
Anonymous
I also forgot to mention that there are identical weapons that deal THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF DAMAGE in each class as the wither weapons, they just don't have the wither damage so they deal it all in one swing. Like, what the frick????? It's a fricking debuff, on YOUR WEAPON

bad take, wither is really good, you can actually chunk bosses with it if you're playing right
also wither damage weapons do more damage to a soulflay spirit as well

>wither damage weapons do more damage to a soulflay spirit as well
Literally no one soulflays enemies in this game unless they have to or to knock something off an edge it is an utter waste of time that you could've spent hitting the enemy instead

extremely bad fricking take
soul flay is very good because it's FREE DAMAGE
when you soul flay a target they are staggered for the entire time the soul is out and you're hitting it. Against bosses or single large enemies it is insanely good because it's free fricking damage.
morons like you never use it and just assume it fricking sucks
8 months ago
Anonymous
because you do more damage from actually hitting than enemy than the wither you inflict
if there is an enemy that is alone then it's a waste of time because none of the enemies in this game are remotely threatening and hitting them. If there is an enemy that is not alone (it won't be) then it's a waste of time because it takes too long. >spending 5 seconds to soulflay and hit a ghost when even elite enemies die in 3 seconds with a good weapon

Triggers rally damage on the enemy. Instead of actual damage. Also it replaces the actual damage on your weapon because it's split in the same way that split element damage works. So it's like normal damage except worse.

I don't think anything resists Wither, and reducing an enemies HP to pure white allows you to do an instant kill on them that gives you better loot.
I can’t figure out where to go in Fen so I’m just gonna look up a walkthrough. You can’t really kill shit in this and this reap the fruits of your labor being combing through a space knowing nothing is gonna gank you. Enemy density in this game is fricking aids. I was running around that place in circles in Umbral and none of the enemies have any type of proper pathing. They just slam into each other trying to chase me till it’s a mob of 80 guys.
i don't know what it is about this game but it has the level feeling of nioh where everywhere looks the same and the path forward isn't clear. no matter the area you just end up running around in circles trying to find out where to go
>some more items
the game doesn't randomly spawn items. this game is coded by pajeets. They couldn't figure out how to deal with enemy drops if you launch them off a cliff so they spawn a few seconds back at the enemies previous position, and if it can't figure that out it defaults to the enemies' spawn location. You can kill an enemy 100 meters away from where they spawned and their loot will just teleport back. If you are backtracking through an area you'll find a bunch of items laying on the ground from enemies you previously killed.
>kill an enemy >game can't figure out where to spawn it's loot on a slight incline because pajeet durgasoft coding >loot spawns 100m away of screen >you don't know that the enemy dropped loot because it didn't appear in front of you and you have no visual indicator when the enemy dies >loot despawns when you go to another area (maybe? idk)
great feature

I was trying to decipher what you mean with this post but I think it's just evident that you want to hate the game for zero reason -- even when it gets shit right
Everything you just cried about is a positive feature of the game and you're kind of being a major gay about it
I'm not taking Ganker's word on these games, sorry. You guys got me to waste $10 on Hellpoint while simultaneously telling me Mortal Shell was awful. MS turned out to be great, and Hellpoint turned out to be one of the worst Souls games I've played.
I'm starting to get really fricking tired of umbral shit
the constantly spawning enemies was a novel idea at first but now it's just fricking annoying. New enemies are fine, but I hate the constantly spawning zombies that sometimes spawn just right in front of you on a ledge or something it's fricking infuriating
Alright, I'll continue to check, thanks fren. It's a shame the pieta swords have a reddit/you didnt beat the game stigma. I picked it cause it's cool and I wanted to do holy before the game even came out.
>get invaded >it's actually playable >but i can't hit shit because i'm using a greathammer >turns out the area i died in is filled to the brim with umbral monsters and it turns into a shitshow

>beat her bossfight >they straight up ripped the hub introduction cutscene from bloodborne >she mentions her "healing blood"
I don't think the game rips off bloodborne too much but that part in particular is hard to ignore.
>see item I missed on the way back from getting pummelled by an enchantress and ruiner >get vored by mimic instead of going directly to my bloodstain because of course my dumbass fell for it >as he's tossing my ass out into umbral surrounded by enemies I get invaded >do some fancy footwork but still inevitably die like a b***h

Balancing
Balancing adjustments have been made for NG+ bosses and regions, especially in the almost end-game stages of NG+. We felt we were too enthusiastic and the previous curve was too steep.
Molhu has decided to reduce the price of seeds in his store from 2,500 vigor to 1,200 vigor.
what's with the dumb ass version of the mimic? It looks like a normal item, but oh no, some homosexual moth thing about kills you, then flies away scot free. >got you! I got you!
im on PC using a PS5 controller and the menus will randomly stop working. The cursor (glowing light on a menu option) will straight up disappear and my controller input wont register unless I back out of the menu and go back into it or switch to my mouse. This happens a lot, all the fricking time, and its annoying.
>can romance Pieta and get a BioWare-esque scene
wasn't expecting that, but I suppose they wanted to differentiate themselves from From a bit. Better than Cyberpunk's romance scene for sure.
Socketing runes doesn't even SHOW the runes most of the time, if you have multiple weapons you use and swap between them with runes in each you'll see most of the time when you open a menu the runes aren't visible and you need to equip and unequip the weapons for them to appear. This also applies to the socketing rune UI, which you can open for a weapon you know has a rune in it and it won't even show the rune, potentially leading to you overwriting a rare drop rune by mistake because it's invisible which I have already done.
This game's UI is barely functional.
How do I get more Umbral Thingies to buy more boss gear? I made the mistake of buying the Guts (Harrower) armor in full at it turned out to be a complete piece of shit so I'm down to like 20, at this rate it's going to be impossible to buy it all on one playthrough, and the fact that NG+ bloats the HP of enemies even further doesn't make it sound very appealing to me.
>He's quite impossible to beat
I'm guessing he should be doable at higher enough lvls with a +10 weapon. He locks your Sanguinarix but you can still cast Healing Circle and laugh in his face. Read he basically insta respawns though.
Hilariously, the Adyr ending is probably the one that ends the best for you personally. Kinda the second worst ending for the world overall though. Picking Umbral is the true moron's choice since it just erases everything starting with you.
Well, the Umbral ending depends entirely on how cynic you are. See, the npcs themselves tell you that the world is all kinds of fricked, even without Adyr's influence; there's war, there's famine, humans oppressing others, the Church has clearly gotten out out hand and is all kinds of heretical and degenerate. You, being a victim of circumstance, get to decide whether all this garbage is worth saving or condemning or simply erasing it in the hopes that there might be a better future (or not, maybe the world simply deserves the void).
It's not deep philosophy, but imagine you give such power of decision to a man who has seen quite basically every kind of horrible act that could exist.
Adyr is literally the only one who ends up appreciating you
The world is fricked regardless, may as well become the first demon lord and get all the big titty witches for your personal harem
the homosexual of a light god annihilates most of the world too
there are no "good" endings in this turd unless there's something locked behind ng+, and it desperately needs "frick all gods" ending
Does the game gets better once I get the lightsaber sword? I don't care if the weapon is OP and that I didn't beat the game if I use it.
The game is kicking my ass and I've lost so many souls just trying to retrieve them back.
I think it's pretty damn S tier because >put all points into radiant and use the best spells in the game >huge sweeping slices for mobs that you will be spammed with >lightweight as frick
it's literally easy mode and yes this game becomes much more enjoyable once you get a weapon that does a lot of damage and can cleave through 3 enemies at once
It's not that it's better damage wise, it's that they gave it a combination of things that make it stand above. For starters it only requires stat investment into Radiance and scales super hard from it. Secondly it's very fast (Shortsword) and has the range of a Ultra Great Sword if not more. I think it can be enchanted so that's another extra damage layer on top (remember how Souls don't let you enchant weapons that are elemental/poison/bleed? Yeah, this game allows you to and it's dumb as frick)
>Inferno gets a grand sword that deals mostly fire damage >It scales purely with inferno >Presumably it can be buffed with a fire spell to deal almost exclusively fire damage >It doesn't even require strength for a GRAND sword >Meanwhile strength gets two pure scaling grand swords (OUT OF TWELVE) and one has split fire damage and the other one has awful scaling >There's no pure physical buff so 9/10 times you're better off adding fire damage to your pure strength character which splits your damage and doesn't scale
Who the frick designs this shit? How does any of this get past balancing and QA? This game is like what you get if you ask an AI prompt to create a souls like, they don't understand shit about why game mechanics are there in the first place for other souls games.
It's not just strength, it affects every weapon. I can almost guarantee that there are radiance daggers or polearms or hammers that scale exclusively off radiance and deal almost pure radiance damage while being buffable. Pieta's sword exist. The most effective way to play literally any weapon in this game is to go radiance. It's fricking stupid. I want to play with a big massive ultra greatsword and the most effective way to do that is instead of going strength, to go with MAGIC? are you kidding me?
In every other souls game you would have split damage and a (usually) unbuffable weapon (which I don't necessarily agree with) so your weapon would be weaker but in exchange you would have access to spells. Here your weapon is stronger and you can use spells for... no downside. Great game, pajeets.
>Not using Pale Butcher's >Not using Justice >Wanting to be a pure unga STR moron when the game is clearly telling you to go elemental
ngmi
pale butcher is the dumbest most moronic shit weapon I've ever seen. The wither damage is an active disadvantage. It fricking deals LESS damage than shown on the stat screen because wither damage is so poorly thought out.
it doesn't matter because faith builds get bloody glory, which might as well be a pure faith weapon. It scales almost exclusively off faith which means 80% of your damage will come from holy, and you can buff it for even more holy damage (and your buffed damage will scale too because spells lmao) meanwhile the pure strength grand sword is split with fire damage that doesn't scale. If you want to be a big unga bunga moron the most effective way is to scale into fricking magic. Seriously.
>inferno gets this cool ass grand sword >also a pack of melee spells obviously designed to make you feel like a STR gay >giant hammer spell that has a better moveset than actual greathammers and just throws shit around >giant axes spell that just has a better version of dual axe moveset >ng+ inferno class also has a cool ass greataxe
I'm so happy i didn't fell for the STR meme.
So the game is very linear, right? I've reached Calrath, and thus far I've found two side paths, both of which were from keys. I tried to explore one (the door in pilgrim's perch), and I haven't explored the other (whatever the fief key unlocks). That said, it's at least more side areas than DS3 had.
There's only really 1 big optional areas, all the other paths that open are actually just to areas you need to go eventually, similar to how you can head to New Londo very early in Dark Souls but you're not supposed to go there until later.
I'm not really interested in extremely open-ended world design like Elden Ring, I'm just curious whether I can cleverly circumvent the more linear parts of the game to get to cool stuff early, closer to DS1. If it's close to DS1 in that regard, that's fine by me.
>using pieta sword until I can get enough stats to use the holy guts sword
I am contemplating just respeccing, but I'd have less vitality at that point which would scare me
also I feel like I need more endurance for the heavier weapons because of how much stamina they use
>Modified "the moving merchant" to sell 2 copies of the Slave Hunter Dagger, encouraging players to explore the dual-knives dual-wielding stance, which may be slightly overpowered and subject to potential nerfs in the future.
Alright you fricks, I upgraded the daggers, I tried your shitty your shitty dual-wielding stance: It sucks dick and nobody has ever seriously attempted to play the game like this
Heavy attacks which hit with both daggers won't even stagger basic ass umbral zombies
Light attacks glide past everything and miss when attempting to play unlocked so they are unusable for cleave
Near any terrain they will bounce off walls as if the daggers are 20ft long making them unusable
The running R2 can actually bounce off the FLOOR
They're slow as shit for their range with no advantages over using any other weapon in dual wield with the exception of the spin attack which does OK damage if it doesn't fly past the target and whiff
That's "spin attack", which like I said is strong only in the sense that the motion values on it are high so it hits hard. But the total animation time is equivalent to doing a charged R2 with a bigger weapon so it should hit hard, and it still bounces off the fricking walls. The spin attack having some damage on it is the only redeeming feature of the weapon and that's not enough.
b***h that's a pure Agility dagger, I am not going to build into Radiance and then apply a weapon buff to kill one shitty umbral zombie what the frick are you smoking
You don't have to level radiance past the point to use the weapon buff you ducking moron. It has an innate stun buildup called smite, which is independant of your radiance level.

>you have been chosen by the lantern, go and cleanse the five beacons >nobody at firelink even reacts or knows that you did it, just a sixth one appears >on the way two separate npcs that didn't do shit or gave you advice appear to kill you for Zanzibart >the whole final dungeon is aids central with the same enemies
The final act really pissed away any positive feelings I had for the game
This "firelink" is so pathetic compared to hub in Lies of P where i liked basically every NPC and almost all of them got a positive closure to their arc (including an old lady who dies in peace leaving you a heartfelt message)
The game literally tells you this on the first 10 minutes.
What it doesn't tell you is unlike souls, combos are extremely flexible. You can R1, R2, kick, powerstance, L1+R2 in the middle of the combo and continue it.
>Let's put a stone face in the umbral realm of this boss fight so that if you die you have to deal with the most cancerous enemy in the game in addition to the boss lol
that one pit behind the locked door in pilgrim's perch taught me that there are some enemies that are just environmental hazards. three of those cage head damage sponge guys in a pit, but one of them has umbral protection so you have to go umbral to even deal with them? yeah, not worth my time.
there are at least a few, that being one of them, of those blue shield things that just do not exist unless you actually enter the umbral realm yourself

You can just siphon them.

i am aware of how they normally work.
The one with the quadruple caged head match did not exist at all for me unless I entered Umbral. Using the lantern didn't work.
That there are items you can only get in coop is one thing, because you can probably find someone that still needs to kill the boss that you need.
But solo only items is very stupid. I have a friend who only bought this for a coop, so i join her world and help her through the game and now she can't get the cool helmet she wanted because you only get it when you kill Delyth solo.
They are also pretty damn boring compared to summoning a pack of hellhounds or a pair of giant frickoff axes
Hell i'd argue even radiance is not as fun as inferno.
No wonder the inferno trainer is a big titty witch. It's the chad playstyle.
>big ass fricking sword >wow it requires strength to wield? I want one that requires no strength for my MAGIC build!
have a nice day and stick to pietas sword you fricking imbecile
Well I had an item disappear from my inventory. Vanguard Barros' Rosary I picked up after defeating the Menacious Visage in the swamp, went to the hub Black to give it to him for new spells and I had no options. Double checked my inventory and the rosary isn't there. Whack.
>there's a Rune that lowers a weapon or shields weight AND STAT requirements to 0
guess i'll use the heaviest greatshield in the game then? what is this dumb shit
>insane UE5 graphics >but destructible objects just poof out of existence
One of the most jarring juxtapositions (alongside the generally shitty animations).
There is no more contemptible type of player than the jack-of-all-trades gay >i'm gonna go str for big weapons >but then also go inferno for some weapon buffs >and then in this level some radiance spells are good >and over there i should use a range weapon >maybe bring some throwables
Fricking have a nice day. Make an actual, hyperfocused build, like an actual human.
You chose ONE weapon class and maybe, MAYBE one supporting buff spell, but only if your character is themed as a paladin/cleric, and that's fricking it, and you make it work or you start over with a different character concept.
>Finally a game where the devs make everything useful and give people so much freedom to mix and match weapons and items >Turbo homosexuals with zero creativity and sub zero iq starts whining over not being able to just go with the most moronic one trick builds

>DeS and DaS1 brought back harder difficulty games in an era of casualization >became a big hit and attracted fans >years later devs lost their way and focused on slop content and "quality of life improvements" >same fanbase who were attracted to harder difficulty of the original game started getting used to casualized game >another dev puts out new difficult game that goes back to the roots of the genre >fanbase who turned into slop eaters complain now that the new game is artificial difficulty, bad design, and unbalanced
what a tragic turn of events
DeS and DaS1 were NEVER hard. All the new shit like Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen fail because they make enemies too hard to the point where build diversity suffers.
I don't know why it happened, but it did happen when the PC version and DLC of Dark Souls was announced. Demon's Souls was kind of puzzley, and Dark Souls had a bit more action, but after Artorias that fight kind of became an obsession for From. Many bosses and enemies became a dexfest, and Bloodborne turned it into a game. You got bits and pieces of the DeS formula here and there, and Elden Ring brought it back more but it was still very much a new formula game. I blame the prepare to die marketing, they made it seem like it was this super hardcore game as if Demon's Souls wasn't just a cool turbo version of what ARPG's were on PS2.
i know the thread's about to die, but the issue with LotF's difficulty is that demon's souls' and dark souls' difficulty was really quite tame despite how fundamentally dire it felt to run low on grass / estus deep in an area. the slow, deliberate pace of the combat meant that it was often possible to intentionally exercise caution while fighting to conserve your few remaining resources. LotF, in comparison, has the difficulty of DeS's and DS1's level design combined with the difficulty of later FromSoft games' enemies and bosses. it's also a bit more difficult to exploit enemies' weaknesses, and the player character feels squishier than the player character in elden ring.
personally, i like it, but it's just a grueling gauntlet at times. the encounter design is very, very dense in some areas. i think if you toned down some of the enemies' damage and fine tuned the encounters a bit, it'd be a better experience for it. the level design itself would still be great.
Just finished the game. I really liked it especially the later areas but man what did they do to the last 10 or so bosses? There had almost zero difficulty
Personally liked it way more than Lies of P, they nailed the exploration, environmental and level design everything else was mediocre
I liked it and figured it out instantly it was one of those fight. The manbaby king right before was great too so I'm not bothered.
Going for Inferno playthrough right now and I'll see what changes
>turn on auras >attack like a fricking moron >win
i must be like 85% of the way through the game and i think i'm dropping it. every fight i just facetank out trade everything, none of the fights are interesting and none of the npcs/storylines are interesting
>iron flesh spell so that even the 800 gazillion damage lightsaber that attacks as fast as a dagger and has the range of a zweihander gets poise
wow the steam reviews weren't kidding, this really is the worst parts of all the souls games combined
Kill the red man a bunch of times. It's not too bad once you're in the endgame. The biggest downside is how little soul he drops. Also, his spin to win move does absurd damage.
Huh, i thought he was invincible. >once you're in the endgame
I finished Pilgrim's Perch, i have 26 scourings, and i want Pietas sword RIGHT NOW.
Unacceptable.
For real though that's dumb. Boss weapons should be available and actually buyable the moment you get the boss soul. They should just cost vigor.
Kill the red man a bunch of times. It's not too bad once you're in the endgame. The biggest downside is how little soul he drops. Also, his spin to win move does absurd damage.
Most boss weapons cost 20. Pieta's is the only that costs 40 both versions
>iron flesh spell so that even the 800 gazillion damage lightsaber that attacks as fast as a dagger and has the range of a zweihander gets poise
wow the steam reviews weren't kidding, this really is the worst parts of all the souls games combined
It's a passive buff that gives you infinite poise during charge attacks.
With the Pendant of Atrophy you can fire infinate umbral spells. If you have a beefed up catalyst and Latimer's Javelin you can just throw javelins that do 700 damage infinitely. Just killed the two stage not Guts boss at the bottom of the well by just throwing spears. I don't think they realized how strong that necklace is.
I honestly think the controls are really good, animation jank aside. Even jumping feels better despite having the traditional Souls jump.
People think it's jank? I thought it was pretty clean. Even r1 spam has unique hits after a few. Some magic is boring but there's cool shit like Martyrdom.
Oh, there are a few animations that feel too "fast", if that makes sense. I think that Umbral Weapon is a clear example. There's also the obvious one where the character launches forward, though I don't mind this now that I've played the game for hours
I feel like it's just one of those things you have to get used to.
Actually kinda agree. Dervela was so tall her hits just missed me by being tall. My first try and 20 hours awake I beat her first phase just spamming slash.
I'm amazed at how you guys find ways to cheese the game with obviously unbalanced stuff, keep on using them, keep on playing and keep complaining about the game. Subhuman behaviour.
>Two pure strength ultra greatswords >One does split fire damage and has better scaling (why) >The other does pure physical damage and has shit scaling >The pure physical damage one does less damage because it's scaling is shit >Even with +physical damage gems instead of strength scaling gems it does less damage (and doesn't have burn)
I believe this is due to the 2nd rune slot being something which unlocks when you bring a relic tablet to the smith. It will have 2 rune slots once you unlock 2 rune slots.
im convinced that the only people defending this game are pieta sword monkeys that cheesed their way through their entire playthrough and feel entitled to give advice because the game was piss easy for them
yeah tell me how im supposed to get through the frozen village area that has 3 stone faces with dual daggers go frick yourselves
Holy is super useful in ER because it's associated with powerful as frick gimmicks like percentage based health damage
t. made a playthrough entirely with black knife and cipher pata and had zero issues
its actually worse in every way possible because at leas the drake sword had drawbacks - its short and has no scaling. pietas sword is long, has great scaling, pure holy damage, and has longer reach than most weapons.
>pieta sword monkeys that cheesed their way through their entire playthrough and feel entitled to give advice because the game was piss easy for them
Thats me but I just insult people for being shit instead.
the game was tested only with holy damage in mind. smite is essentially magical bleed, and pierta is a shortsword making it faster than majority of the shit in the game with some reach still
the balancing in this game is frickin terrible.
>Lies of P had a positive, hopeful ending where most likeable NPCs survived, Sophia's torment came to an end and the true antagonist even managed to die in a satisfying fashion >all 3 LOTF endings are garbage and siding with a literal Satan is the best out of a bunch
They're exactly the same shit. It's not even subtle with rhogar being a reflection of humanity and Adyr going about how humanity is evil bad and wicked while he's just as bad.
People are going to get slaughtered and whoever survives gets to be a slave to some cartoonishly evil genocidal power.
>tfw no route where we purify Judge Cleric and Pieta as well as redeeming Harkyn >no save the Commander and Exactor route to bring true justice back to Mournstead

>lamp has an annoying input delay when you activate the absorb mode that makes handling the groups of parasite protected enemies an obnoxious headache, especially if any sort of ranged Black person is involved >soul flay is fricking useless beyond pilgrim perch
This game needs like an entire additional year of balancing
the animations like that need a little bit of a frickin speed boost. they did it with picking up souls, and they need it for this shit also. its clunky as frick and makes exploring also feel like a slog, that is already a slog to begin with
I'm enjoying my replay of the game and story makes way more sense on top of NPC dialogue also making sense now. Breezing through the game now since I know most of the mechanics. Just go the first tablet for the smith. Tried to do early frozen hellhole early on but a +3 weapon is a bit tight to do the boss proper.
is that the final area in the game? Black person how do you only have 6 estus? What level are you? Im in upper calrath and have only lit 1 beacon and my health bar looks the same as yours
I'm 108 and yeah I only have 6 (and a half) flasks. I thought at this point 7 was like max or something. must've missed some then I guess. Ive just used a lot of those red healing rocks when going through areas. I haven't used up all my flasks at bosses since like the halfway point of the game so whatever
>Dark souls ripoff is when you have 12th to 17th century architecture in ur gaymes

They managed to make a game that feels more like Demon's Souls than any game From made after. Better multiplayer than they do too. Shame about the co-op not dropping world items for partners but it's better than being constantly sent away. Nioh and especially Remnant with it's added dialogue and quest objectives for co-op set the gold standard for multiplayer in Soulslikes though. Only thing that was missing was invasions, and in this game they're just as fricked as in Demon's Souls. Newer From games gutted invasions and made them way less dangerous. Ammo system is pretty cool, no more finding the ammo itself but just get the item and have a shared ammo type that resets after rest. Just wish you could have throwables and catalysts in the same build, maybe push the Umbral Lamp to the consumables spot instead. Performance is absolute shit though, but I can live with that. Thanks for reading my blog.
>except you regain ammo mid-level through normal consumables instead of sacrificing health if you run out
This is actually worse. Blood bullets were essentially infinite with zero grinding, especially if you had a source of regain nearby. >and ranged weapons are MASSIVELY overpowered compared to Bloodborne guns
They are nothing compared to simon's bowblade which deald a frick ton of damage but could also backstab from range.
i cant tell acceptable level ranges for these areas because i really dont know how coop works either. does it take into account like, upgraded items too like later souls games ended up doing matchmaking?
it doesn't matter because you can invade/be summoned to any zone no matter where you are at the time. Just try a bunch and see where you end up and that'll give you an idea of where similar people are at.
That being said i strongly suggest you don't engage in multiplayer in this game, the netcode is the up there with the absolute worst.
This game was supposed to be good... all the youtubers said it was going to be fun... this is just frustrating, sad, embarrassing, and pathetic
It's so fricking jank, just feels bad to play and the level design is trash. Glad I didn't pay for it
Are health sponges like that very common. The more I see of this game, the more glad I am I held off.
I think this is a later area you can access early.
>that animation quality
This genuinely looks like it was made by jeets who don't understand weight or physics at all.
This reminds me of my time playing the dark souls 2 dlc areas with large club. just pancaked everything
this, but with powerstanced smelter swords
Meanwhile in Japan games you literal could feel the attack weight even without sound, why is that?
It's called hitstop.
LotF HAS hitpause and it's awful, it's done in a way which makes certain weapons worse at cleaving because it slows your sweep down in real time
>why is that?
Mostly because Asian animations can properly sell the body movements necessary to make it look like they're accelerating something heavy. The important movements are the ones before and after the sweep of the weapon when the character is overcoming inertia. MH shows the player initially coiling and straining to get the weapon moving, then once it is moving it moves fast across the screen as you would expect from a dangerous attack.
In LoTF the subtle body movements before and after a swing are lacking while the swings themselves are slow and often float at a steady pace instead of showing the strained acceleration and deceleration that you would expect from overcoming inertia.
Monster Hunter is extremely gay thoughever
MH animations on a whole different level, it's almost not even fair to compare them to other games.
>swings an even bigger weapon around even faster
>weight
No. It looks goofy as shit, there is no weight at all, just like in lords.
an even bigger weapon around even faster
..because it's Monster Hunter, it's not realistic, this is pretty obvious if you aren't staggeringly low IQ.
It's like comparing a state of the art supercar with a family SUV.
if the family SUV costs the same/more as the state of the art supercar then i hold it to a similar standard of quality

I can see why From are still the kings of the genre they invented.
Dark souls 2 pajeets is probably creaming themsleves to this
>all the youtubers said it was going to be fun
Every one I looked at playing it refused to play it any more after they got to a point. Limealicious did a sponsored stream and refused to play it any more once time was up, and she has played through every soulslike to the end, even if she thought it was jank.
This is actually a shame because there is a nice game hidden in here, it's just that all the raw combat mechanics like the animations and the controls are arse. the different areas having almost entirely the same enemies absolutely destroys any sense of exploration to me.
Yes the game is expansive and has lots of places to go but when everywhere is just full of the same stuff i stop caring extremely fast
Sometimes the invisible archers shoot you with poison and sometimes with ice
You didnt need to deactivate the lamp to have him fall through. Only you and umbral monsters can walk on umbral ground others will just fall through it.
>videogame animation is my passion
If your game is going to function like this, it should be required that the player needs the full stamina available to perform the attack, that way they can't just wait for there to be a sliver of green bar that nets them a charged auto-stagger hit they can endlessly spam.
the game throws multiple enemies at you 99% of the time so it's not that big of a deal
This game was supposed to be bad... all the youtubers said it was going to be horrible... this is just soothing, happy, cheerful, and amazing.
>This game was supposed to be bad
it is bad you moronic shill
>what the frick is wrong with ranged weapons in this game? They're abusrdly overtuned.
because you are supposed to cheese your way with them
are there literally any umbral weapons that don't do most of their damage through Wither? Wither is an actual meme garbage damage type.
Wither works if you poison or cast a passive damaging AoE
wither is the most moronic saddest shit ive ever seen in one of these games. It's like some weapons actively have a debuff if they have wither damage.
>casca at home
A sword that's constantly damaging the hand of it's wielder doesn't seem very practical.
The whole theme of the holy dudes in this game is punishing yourself with whips and thorns because whatever the frick religious reasons

sorry, I'm a certified radiantsissy
QualityKing here, magic is for gays.
Its fricking fun, umbral is amazing aftet yiy upgrade your catalyst
Enlighten me, can I do 20k damage in a single cast with umbral?
looks hotter than rapedka
when do you start getting runes? im in lower calrath and I haven't gotten any runes yet
runes drop mainly during umbral, you have to perform an umbral finisher on an enemy, and you will get their particular rune
huh? where the frick is that explained? Also how do I equip armor dyes / runes, I just got a poison rune while farming one of the lion rat dudes in the swamp
you need to upgrade the blacksmith with the rune tablets to put in runes
dyes are a tab in the menu
Also equipment gets more rune slots as you upgrade it.
>umbral finisher
I had to look up what that is. Basically you need to "kill" the enemy when doing the soulflay so that 100% of its remaining health is withered. It will then enter a critical state and doing a backstab/frontstab will cause your character to do a unique animation with the lamp.
It's not required, though it does seem to improve the drop rate.
When you bring the first tablet to the blacksmith and talk to her a bunch.
I've brought her 2, guess i gotta talk to her more
just finished the slog of a game
the last boss is just running around 1 shotting mooks who shoot fireballs
christ what a disappointment this wasa
my guess is that he's not the "Final boss" in the dev's eyes, he's more of just a final """""story thing""""" while he monologues at you and the king is the final boss gameplay wise, not that it's much better
Demon's souls did that though.
Yeah, no shit, that's exactly what I was thinking of
>they got the bad ending
lol, lmao
wait there's a true final boss? what ending?
theres the inferno ending where you dont do the stupid adyr fight killing mooks and theres the umbral ending where you fight pieta again but shes purple and does a bit more damage (wow!)
>exploding enemies don't deal friendly fire damage
Oh come the frick on, that's half the point of exploding enemies!

What a fricking joke
how the FRICK do I get that item?
If that's the one I'm thinking you have to get down there in umbral somewhere ahead of that building or to the left.
what the frick is wrong with ranged weapons in this game? They're abusrdly overtuned. I don't even remember where I found this thing but it does more damage than the skin and tooth ULTRA greatsword at 40 strength. What the frick?
this game was developed by people that really like firebombs, clearly
Throwing weapons can't be upgraded so instead enhanced versions of them can be found. What upgrade level is your melee weapon at? It would be better to compare it when maxed.
Either +5 or +6 but its a massive difference, the AR on my ultra is around 400-450 but this thing has 750
you'll gain an absolute truckton more damage as you max the weapon, the scaling increases greatly
You can find a pure STR grand sword in the upcoming everything is on fire slums.
nice, thanks. i've heard some talk that weapon class isn't very good, is it true? I tried the unga bunga hammer you can find pretty early, but while the damage was relatively nice the slowest charge attack speed really hurt. and it's lack of sweeps for smacking multiple things at once, since it's almost a requirement on a weapon it feels like. or I might just be relying too hard on the 2h r2 charge attack on longsword.
Anything can sweep when dual wielded. Why don't people just dual bighammer?
No it's a problem with the game. This is the earliest pure strength grand sword you can get and it's also the best one in the game. Your options are to either stick with the claymore or switch to the grand hammer or the angel axe until you get this. There's a quality grand sword in the swamp but it requires 25 str / 20 dex which is moronic, and it also does wither damage so it's a piece of shit but at least it gets the grand sword moveset which is good.
The game feels significantly better for my strength build now that I've gotten this. It's a huge problem that it's so late into the early game.
What's wrong with Wither damage?
Against bosses or single large enemies it is insanely good because it's free fricking damage.
morons like you never use it and just assume it fricking sucks
because you do more damage from actually hitting than enemy than the wither you inflict
if there is an enemy that is alone then it's a waste of time because none of the enemies in this game are remotely threatening and hitting them. If there is an enemy that is not alone (it won't be) then it's a waste of time because it takes too long.
>spending 5 seconds to soulflay and hit a ghost when even elite enemies die in 3 seconds with a good weapon
like why would i bother with this
I like how you TAKE (wither) damage attacking the ghost. Completely unusable outside a 1v1
does having shield on the back activate the runes on them?
Yes
Pieta''s sword does higher dps one handed than two handed and stuns quicker too wi radiant weapon btw
>what are these dumb mechanics
>why are these things tough r1 spam r1 spam
>it took awhile but i killed it all
Have you tried engaging with the mechanics of the game?
any 1v1 is trivial and soulflay is worthless against groups. bloody noob b***h
every Gankerigger complaint I've seen about this game is from low IQ morons
i've seen a homosexual complain about the game having too much enemies then post a webm of him fighting in umbral
People think the way they approach a game can never be wrong and if they aren't having fun being stubborn they blame the game, simple really. I don't even know where these people are coming from considering every other souls and soulslike never managed to get complaints as loud. Did the marketing actually attract a lot of people new to the genre?
Nah, phones became able to browse the internet very well and Ganker just simply became 90% brown.
The latter isn't even a joke, the English quality has dropped over the past years.
>This entire weapon class is unusable garbage
>"y-y--you're just approaching the game wrong!"
If you think enemies are taking too many hits to kill then I would suggest not using a weapon with split Wither damage on it.
I understand wither is the rally but wtf does in pve?
Triggers rally damage on the enemy. Instead of actual damage. Also it replaces the actual damage on your weapon because it's split in the same way that split element damage works. So it's like normal damage except worse.
Thats dumb
That's exactly how I beat Malenia in ER. Great Hammer attacks to the face and it would flinch every time lmao
You didn't beat her
He literally did you ESL Black person.
You did NOT beat her.
But he did. With a hammer. Learn to read dumb Black person.
Speak for yourself. The bellheads on Pilgrim's Perch are so annoying to deal with I just yeet them whenever I can.
They just slam into each other trying to chase me till it’s a mob of 80 guys.
i don't know what it is about this game but it has the level feeling of nioh where everywhere looks the same and the path forward isn't clear. no matter the area you just end up running around in circles trying to find out where to go
the fen is a shithole, every area after is much better
>game sometimes randomly spawns some more items and mimics
devious
Mimics move to different spots if you leave or die.
>some more items
the game doesn't randomly spawn items. this game is coded by pajeets.
Well they accidentally made a good feature then.
>kill an enemy
>game can't figure out where to spawn it's loot on a slight incline because pajeet durgasoft coding
>loot spawns 100m away of screen
>you don't know that the enemy dropped loot because it didn't appear in front of you and you have no visual indicator when the enemy dies
>loot despawns when you go to another area (maybe? idk)
great feature
I'm saying this should fix that but implement what I mistook it as.
>loot spawns 100m away of[f] screen
>so they spawn a few seconds back at the enem[y's] previous position
Well, which is it you dumb Black person?
kek what a low iq post. Read my post again
, but slowly this time.
>They couldn't figure out how to deal with enemy drops if you launch them off a cliff so they spawn a few seconds back at the enemies previous position, and if it can't figure that out it defaults to the enemies' spawn location
Loot remains, as far as I know. I remember killing a guy, lwaving the area, and then returning to see the loot still there.
You're describing this like it's a bad thing. It feels good to golf swing an enemy off a cliff with a big weapon and not worry about drops.
in elden ring and lies of P the items go straight into your inventory if they're important or you manage to knock an enemy off a cliff
fricking moron
Weapons and armor aren't important? Smithing stones? Those fall off cliffs all the time.
I was trying to decipher what you mean with this post but I think it's just evident that you want to hate the game for zero reason -- even when it gets shit right
Everything you just cried about is a positive feature of the game and you're kind of being a major gay about it
>entire areas that you can completely miss and still beat the game
I missed this shit in lies of p
There was ONE (1) area in Lies of P you could skip.
Yup, and it was so tiny, and the game forces you to skip it until later, even though it doesn't accomplish much
I was so disappointed that there wasn't even a boss or anything. Just a weapon to find. Excellent game, but I wish it weren't so linear.
which area?
you pass by a gate at the swamp bridges, it opens later
oh yeah. wasn't that the place with like the 4 rolling boulders? frick that area
Her voice acting is excruciatingly bad
It just works
This is exactly what I did for a while, but I'm too addicted to the mana regen gem, it needs a shield socket
mana clusters are cheap and do the same thing but even faster
true, but I'm stingy
How do I get a second pietas sword?
boss gear restocks
When? I cleared his stock for pieta out awhile ago but it's still empty.
I have no idea what causes the restock, I'm afraid, it just was at some point
Alright, I'll continue to check, thanks fren. It's a shame the pieta swords have a reddit/you didnt beat the game stigma. I picked it cause it's cool and I wanted to do holy before the game even came out.
you just soulflay the stigma bro
>Penitent Two
Did you do the quest to activate the weapons' super power?
>get invaded
>it's actually playable
>but i can't hit shit because i'm using a greathammer
>turns out the area i died in is filled to the brim with umbral monsters and it turns into a shitshow
Was surprisingly fun, I thought it was going to be a complete mess
>it's actually playable
because you were the host
this is a typical invasion experience
ah, that would explain it. how bizarre
yeah, the netcode favors the host above all else, so invaders get fricked if the connection isn't godly
>dying to shiternet
Git gud scrubs.
i literally won the invasion in that post
>h-he's fast!!
In all honesty, these games PVP would be unplayable without shit net code. If everything ran 100%, nobody would ever land a hit.
>nobody would ever land a hit.
wrong, the game has several unreactable swings
>beat her bossfight
>they straight up ripped the hub introduction cutscene from bloodborne
>she mentions her "healing blood"
I don't think the game rips off bloodborne too much but that part in particular is hard to ignore.
I mean healing blood is nothing new considering the religious themes.
>wearing all that armor just to walk around barefoot and put your ability to walk and run at risk
woman moment
Footgay moment, alternatively there's some religious inspiration behind it since Judge Cleric and a few other enemies have it too.
>see item I missed on the way back from getting pummelled by an enchantress and ruiner
>get vored by mimic instead of going directly to my bloodstain because of course my dumbass fell for it
>as he's tossing my ass out into umbral surrounded by enemies I get invaded
>do some fancy footwork but still inevitably die like a b***h
not even mad, was actually pretty funny.
Lords of the fallen is visually overdesigned.
New patch to day. Changelog too long for the entire thing but this should be the most important stuff
NPCs
Sparky has received some additional lines of dialogue.
It looks like a normal item, but oh no, some homosexual moth thing about kills you, then flies away scot free.
>got you! I got you!
if the item light is jiggling around erratically, yoink it with your lamp
It only kills you if you're in umbral
even the menus in this game are laggy as frick and eat your input on a controller, how can a single game be this shit?
works on my machine
im on PC using a PS5 controller and the menus will randomly stop working.
Better than Cyberpunk's romance scene for sure.
why the frick does socketing runes not show the difference in your characters damage in the equipment screen? Seriously?
Socketing runes doesn't even SHOW the runes most of the time, if you have multiple weapons you use and swap between them with runes in each you'll see most of the time when you open a menu the runes aren't visible and you need to equip and unequip the weapons for them to appear. This also applies to the socketing rune UI, which you can open for a weapon you know has a rune in it and it won't even show the rune, potentially leading to you overwriting a rare drop rune by mistake because it's invisible which I have already done.
This game's UI is barely functional.
All runes do nothing haha pranked!!!!
Farm the red ghost that appears when umbral eye turns red. He's quite impossible to beat but you can soulflay him into a pit
Nobody knows what the quest is
>He's quite impossible to beat
I'm guessing he should be doable at higher enough lvls with a +10 weapon. He locks your Sanguinarix but you can still cast Healing Circle and laugh in his face. Read he basically insta respawns though.
Bro after looking at Adyr's shrine, his follower and the Rhogar, who in their sane fricking mind would side with him?
Hilariously, the Adyr ending is probably the one that ends the best for you personally. Kinda the second worst ending for the world overall though. Picking Umbral is the true moron's choice since it just erases everything starting with you.
>not wanting to get vored by mommy
Adyr's a bro to his most loyal and competent followers.
Adyr is literally the only one who ends up appreciating you
The world is fricked regardless, may as well become the first demon lord and get all the big titty witches for your personal harem
So you would literally condemn humanity and the whole world for a God(dess)/Demon(ess) to call you 'good boy'? Me too
the homosexual of a light god annihilates most of the world too
there are no "good" endings in this turd unless there's something locked behind ng+, and it desperately needs "frick all gods" ending
Adyr rewards you by turning into a girl for you to frick, I guess
Does the game gets better once I get the lightsaber sword? I don't care if the weapon is OP and that I didn't beat the game if I use it.
The game is kicking my ass and I've lost so many souls just trying to retrieve them back.
It's not THAT much stronger than other weapons. That said, no area is as difficult as Pilgrim's Perch (on release).
I think it's pretty damn S tier because
>put all points into radiant and use the best spells in the game
>huge sweeping slices for mobs that you will be spammed with
>lightweight as frick
it's literally easy mode and yes this game becomes much more enjoyable once you get a weapon that does a lot of damage and can cleave through 3 enemies at once
I remember a certain blood katana that could enchant itself with 0 investment in spells or consumables
We don't talk about that weapon
>Inferno gets a grand sword that deals mostly fire damage
>It scales purely with inferno
>Presumably it can be buffed with a fire spell to deal almost exclusively fire damage
>It doesn't even require strength for a GRAND sword
>Meanwhile strength gets two pure scaling grand swords (OUT OF TWELVE) and one has split fire damage and the other one has awful scaling
>There's no pure physical buff so 9/10 times you're better off adding fire damage to your pure strength character which splits your damage and doesn't scale
Who the frick designs this shit? How does any of this get past balancing and QA? This game is like what you get if you ask an AI prompt to create a souls like, they don't understand shit about why game mechanics are there in the first place for other souls games.
boo fricking hoo STRsissy cry me a river
Great game, pajeets.
pale butcher is the dumbest most moronic shit weapon I've ever seen. The wither damage is an active disadvantage. It fricking deals LESS damage than shown on the stat screen because wither damage is so poorly thought out.
There's no pure RAD grand weapon in the game. The Inferno sword is an exception not the rule.
it doesn't matter because faith builds get bloody glory, which might as well be a pure faith weapon. Seriously.
anon I don't know how to tell you this but the game was built around using magic + a physical stat
if bloody glory is pure RAD then justice is pure STR
>Not using Pale Butcher's
>Not using Justice
>Wanting to be a pure unga STR moron when the game is clearly telling you to go elemental
ngmi
yeah but then you're stuck with a dumpstat and a dogshit element
>inferno gets this cool ass grand sword
>also a pack of melee spells obviously designed to make you feel like a STR gay
>giant hammer spell that has a better moveset than actual greathammers and just throws shit around
>giant axes spell that just has a better version of dual axe moveset
>ng+ inferno class also has a cool ass greataxe
I'm so happy i didn't fell for the STR meme.
So the game is very linear, right? I've reached Calrath, and thus far I've found two side paths, both of which were from keys. I tried to explore one (the door in pilgrim's perch), and I haven't explored the other (whatever the fief key unlocks). That said, it's at least more side areas than DS3 had.
There's only really 1 big optional areas, all the other paths that open are actually just to areas you need to go eventually, similar to how you can head to New Londo very early in Dark Souls but you're not supposed to go there until later.
Eh, still more open than Dark Souls 3.
I'm not really interested in extremely open-ended world design like Elden Ring, I'm just curious whether I can cleverly circumvent the more linear parts of the game to get to cool stuff early, closer to DS1. If it's close to DS1 in that regard, that's fine by me.
You will have to go most places but yiu can choose where. There is kind of a route the game encourages but you can ignore it with resiliance.
>using pieta sword until I can get enough stats to use the holy guts sword
Playtest your game
try the L1+R2 attack I hear that's strong
That's "spin attack", which like I said is strong only in the sense that the motion values on it are high so it hits hard. But the total animation time is equivalent to doing a charged R2 with a bigger weapon so it should hit hard, and it still bounces off the fricking walls. The spin attack having some damage on it is the only redeeming feature of the weapon and that's not enough.
I see, in that case grand weapons are overpowered and you didn't beat the game if you used one.
skill issue
Now do it with the raiant weapon buff and watch shit get stunned 24/7
b***h that's a pure Agility dagger, I am not going to build into Radiance and then apply a weapon buff to kill one shitty umbral zombie what the frick are you smoking
The radiant buff is for staggering shit with daggers. Enjoy not being able to do griveous strikes all day then
>the best way to play with daggers is to level radiance
lmao fricking have a nice day
You don't have to level radiance past the point to use the weapon buff you ducking moron. It has an innate stun buildup called smite, which is independant of your radiance level.
>lol just level faith to make your DEX daggers viable
fricking have a nice day
You're like the gays who take giant dad seriously when it was sulposed to be a meme.
Not him but that is NOT how you balance a weapon class. If the weapon is functionally useless against ambient trash without building into one spell school and using a temporary weapon buff then you have fricked up as a designer
You're one of those souls morons who just plays pure str or dex build without ever using anything but your main weapon the whole game, aren't you
what part of "fricking have a nice day" did you not understand
So you are. We can disregard everything you've said then.
keep seething mad souls babby you can't use your simpleton 1 stat ooga booga builds here.
You still can, you just don't necessarily get access to the weapon option you want immediately.
radiance builds can use their 1 stat ooga booga magic build after the first boss and it's the best build in the game
Well so can every build. You're supposed to use buffs and spells and not just go 80 strength unless you wanna get raped. You got umbral, inerno, and radiance to pick from. Otherwise invest in bows and/or throwables. Bows are fricking amazing in this game and have so much ammo unlike normal souls games. morons just wanna equip a weapon on is own like they always have and expect to faceroll the game
NTA but that is what made previous souls games so great. You could take pretty much any weapon and use it to beat the game without issue.
You can in this game too if you stop playing like it's dark souls
I only could because not-faith is broken and the spells shred anything. Pure melee would of been borderline impossible with how much damage archers do.
I've been only pumping END and VIT and have access to a big belt of grenades because of it. Every stat block has options if you're smart about it.
>Pure melee
>Just use grenades lol
defeats the purpose of 'pure' melee.
Then throw hammers or axes or spears.
You aren't supposed to go pure melee. Non-magic builds have very powerful ranged options too.
The ice-skating animations look a lot more jank than they feel. I think if they toned down the egregious ones by 50%, the would be better off though.
>R1 with greathammer
>completely reasonable amount of forward momentum
>R2 with greathammer
>teleport forward 5 feet like i'm using the meteoric ore blade's charged R2 from elden ring
Try attacking something near a ledge and tell me it doesn't feel bad when it zooms you into your death
it does
> do stomunds quest
> give him the second piece of the banner
> "cant purchase new stuff yet, probably have to reload"
> come back
> he's gone
nice, haven't been to the boss/further than the banner and now I am fricked
doesn't he move somewhere else?
https://thelordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Stomund+Captain+of+the+Fidelis
unless I am blind and missing something, he should be in the abbey, where I've given him the banner, and stay there until I arrive at the empyrean. then he would move/die.
please tell me I am blind...
I sure hope you weren't planning on attacking up any stairs
daggers get stuck on literally anything. worst weapon type in the game by a wide margin
Me? I went pure Radiance so I couldn't use overpowered grand weapons. I beat the game.
>Bramis Castle
>Still the same dual wielding axe guy from the very first level
>Still the same fire dogs and fire knights
man enemy variety really takes a nosedive towards the end, game still good tho
>spurned progeny
okay this game might be frustrating and mediocre but at least it has it's moments of kino holy shit
for me, it's guts (female). Cool ass boss. Too bad I fought her last, I was way too overpowered.
I fought her early (before my 2nd beacon) and she was still a joke
Just wait until Judge Cleric
has the new patch for the pirated version been uploaded?
learn2byxatab
Yes. Check the thread on cs.rin
Here for my fellow STR gruglords. Really good weapon early on right after the Congregation of Flesh boss fight
Does hitting something with a spell heal wither damage? This sounds rather good if that's the case.
it does without the pendant, don't have the pendent to try it with it
Just so you guys know, you can buy items in worlds of other players. This is super useful if you missed out on stock because your merchant pulled a Miyazaki. Just gotta find a player with the right progression.
good to know thanks anon
I am a pirate and stomund is gone. fricking piece of shit.
Soo spoiler for me...she dies for no fricking reason like mos of the souls npcs?
No, you kill her in one of the endings.
>in ONE of the endings
welp there is hope then...thanks
She's not blessed by the god of light as everyone believes but the result of Mohru's experiments to bind an umbral parasite to a human. You kill her true form in the umbral ending as a sacrifice to Yogg-Saron to it can eat reality.
>beat the game for the first time
>check out the trophies without fear of spoilers
>I missed literally every single NPC quest except the merchant dude
lmao
kino boss webm
If you haven't beat it hide behind the walls although I've had it bug out on some of those parts and still kill me
it only took me like 4 tries to beat him it wasn't that bad. he just doesn't give many opportunities to hit him in the 2nd phase
>he just doesn't give many opportunities to hit him in the 2nd phase
Yea I did the fight as a meleegay as well with a lot less damage and it was pretty pain least the ranged weapon does a lot of damage
>you have been chosen by the lantern, go and cleanse the five beacons
>nobody at firelink even reacts or knows that you did it, just a sixth one appears
>on the way two separate npcs that didn't do shit or gave you advice appear to kill you for Zanzibart
>the whole final dungeon is aids central with the same enemies
The final act really pissed away any positive feelings I had for the game
This "firelink" is so pathetic compared to hub in Lies of P where i liked basically every NPC and almost all of them got a positive closure to their arc (including an old lady who dies in peace leaving you a heartfelt message)
>hmm for this new area what ranged enemy should we fill it with in order to spice things up
>how about
>we use
>the crossbowmen
>again
>uses my own crossbow to kill the crossbowmen
what now?
Only by reading this thread learned that the game has unique attacks on L1+R2
I'm already up to 60 lvl without that shit.
They are almost all garbage. The only one that has a function is probably 2h greataxe forward slam
The slam dunk is indeed completely ballin'
2H Polearm spin attack has a very large amount of hyperarmour
The game literally tells you this on the first 10 minutes.
What it doesn't tell you is unlike souls, combos are extremely flexible. You can R1, R2, kick, powerstance, L1+R2 in the middle of the combo and continue it.
it also says that in the first 10 minutes
It's poorly worded though. It doesn't tell you explicitly that it doesn't break combos like in souls.
This barely matters unless you rock a 2h ultra weapon because enemies will just poise through
So is there a non-glitchy way to farm umbral scourings?
>Let's put a stone face in the umbral realm of this boss fight so that if you die you have to deal with the most cancerous enemy in the game in addition to the boss lol
i feel like you're not going to like the area that has 3 of those stone faces in the same spot
>kill all 3 after 20 minutes of trying
>nothing new drops
I got baited so fricking hard
that one pit behind the locked door in pilgrim's perch taught me that there are some enemies that are just environmental hazards. three of those cage head damage sponge guys in a pit, but one of them has umbral protection so you have to go umbral to even deal with them? yeah, not worth my time.
You don't have to go into umbral to kill them. You can just R1 the thing buffing them with your lamp.
there are at least a few, that being one of them, of those blue shield things that just do not exist unless you actually enter the umbral realm yourself
You can just siphon them.
i am aware of how they normally work.
The one with the quadruple caged head match did not exist at all for me unless I entered Umbral. Using the lantern didn't work.
just don't die in Axiom bro
Just don't die ;^)
That there are items you can only get in coop is one thing, because you can probably find someone that still needs to kill the boss that you need.
But solo only items is very stupid. I have a friend who only bought this for a coop, so i join her world and help her through the game and now she can't get the cool helmet she wanted because you only get it when you kill Delyth solo.
have you tried not simping for prostitutes?
On 1 hand you're probably right, on the other hand: women.
just finish the game and never look back at it
>Inferno spell that summons a giant battlehammer is literally a clunkier ippon dattara core from Nioh 2, with the same sky high poise damage even
Really fricked up not goign radiance / inferno for a secondary
Throwing items get really good too and have secondary effects.
Yea the throwing weapons are decent but nothing beats having some weird magic plus the sheer amount of secondary rad/inf weapons
They are also pretty damn boring compared to summoning a pack of hellhounds or a pair of giant frickoff axes
Hell i'd argue even radiance is not as fun as inferno.
No wonder the inferno trainer is a big titty witch. It's the chad playstyle.
>game has an item to warp to checkpoints
>doesn't use it
You lose all your vigor if you use it, it's this game's Darksign. Better die and have a chance to pick up your vigor than lose it all.
there are plenty of the consumables that do the same thing without the penalty
your moth??
>you can not kill the npcs
literally the worst aspect of the game
GOOOOOODS
>three bars
you didn't beat the game
I beat the game on my other character. 50 str, 25end, 40vit.
I just did 16k damage to the second last boss with one cast of a radiance spell (the 5 swords ones). What the actual frick?
>TWO grand swords that scale with strength
>FOUR grand swords that scale with radiance
>The guts greatsword is fricking RADIANCE
I'm not sure what your problem is
there are two pure strength grand swords
there are zero pure radiance grand swords
ALL WEAPONS AREN'T EQUAL
THIS IS BASICALLY PURE RADIANCE
the only strength greatsword that doesn't have split damage has shit scaling
This is pure STR 🙂
>big ass fricking sword
>wow it requires strength to wield? I want one that requires no strength for my MAGIC build!
have a nice day and stick to pietas sword you fricking imbecile
works for Inferno chads
just level radiance you mong, the spells are useful
Well I had an item disappear from my inventory. Vanguard Barros' Rosary I picked up after defeating the Menacious Visage in the swamp, went to the hub Black to give it to him for new spells and I had no options. Double checked my inventory and the rosary isn't there. Whack.
What's the most fun weapon in the game?
definitely the inferno grand sword
none. this is classic soulslop. fun is forsaken to make way for gritty grimdarkness
pietas sword so that you can finish the game faster
I hope they buff bosses and nerf regular monsters. It's fricking insane how pathetic the boss encounters are compared to a room with 2 basic enemies.
>found the avelyn knock-off
>it's for qualitykings only
excellent
>there's a Rune that lowers a weapon or shields weight AND STAT requirements to 0
guess i'll use the heaviest greatshield in the game then? what is this dumb shit
I mean you get it at the end of the game.
Game is obviously pay to win. HDD gays crying in a corner while they fall to their death through unloaded terrain.
>he didn't check for collisions map to fully load
Git gut.
OUT FRICKING SKILLED
>15 years later and it's still happening
It's crazy
>he didnt check the corner
GOTEM GOTEM AHAHAHAHA!!
t. lead level designer
kek filtered b***h
This is the "slop of the goyim" webm spammer, btw.
Behold his incredible gameplay prowess
I'm so glad I'm not bad at video games.
/v/edditors will enter shit eating competitions with themselves and then when normal people don't want to play they'll say "filtered lol"
>Not checking the corners before engaging with enemies, especially on a place with edges you can fall off
get filtered homosexual
>insane UE5 graphics
>but destructible objects just poof out of existence
One of the most jarring juxtapositions (alongside the generally shitty animations).
>everyone I've invaded has been solo
This almost feels like cheating.
There is no more contemptible type of player than the jack-of-all-trades gay
>i'm gonna go str for big weapons
>but then also go inferno for some weapon buffs
>and then in this level some radiance spells are good
>and over there i should use a range weapon
>maybe bring some throwables
Fricking have a nice day. Make an actual, hyperfocused build, like an actual human.
You chose ONE weapon class and maybe, MAYBE one supporting buff spell, but only if your character is themed as a paladin/cleric, and that's fricking it, and you make it work or you start over with a different character concept.
Go back to your souls games and whine yyou insufferable Black person
You are geuinely unliked by your peers.
>Finally a game where the devs make everything useful and give people so much freedom to mix and match weapons and items
>Turbo homosexuals with zero creativity and sub zero iq starts whining over not being able to just go with the most moronic one trick builds
kek
>DeS and DaS1 brought back harder difficulty games in an era of casualization
>became a big hit and attracted fans
>years later devs lost their way and focused on slop content and "quality of life improvements"
>same fanbase who were attracted to harder difficulty of the original game started getting used to casualized game
>another dev puts out new difficult game that goes back to the roots of the genre
>fanbase who turned into slop eaters complain now that the new game is artificial difficulty, bad design, and unbalanced
what a tragic turn of events
DeS and DaS1 were NEVER hard. All the new shit like Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen fail because they make enemies too hard to the point where build diversity suffers.
DeS and DS1 being super ultra hard (in snoys' eyes) is exactly why the genre took off
>Lords of the Fallen
>too hard
The main complaint about the game is it's too easy, how fricking shit are you?
The bosses are pathetic pushovers, the enemies kill me with 2 hits regardless of my 50 vitality and heavy armor.
The areas are harder than other games in the genre while bosses are piss easy. Game's a mess.
90% of the non-performance complaints have been about "artificial difficulty"
LotF, in comparison, has the difficulty of DeS's and DS1's level design combined with the difficulty of later FromSoft games' enemies and bosses. it's also a bit more difficult to exploit enemies' weaknesses, and the player character feels squishier than the player character in elden ring.
personally, i like it, but it's just a grueling gauntlet at times. the encounter design is very, very dense in some areas. i think if you toned down some of the enemies' damage and fine tuned the encounters a bit, it'd be a better experience for it. the level design itself would still be great.
at least the armor sets and weapons in this game look cool
I have yet to find some cool mage robes.
Just finished the game. I really liked it especially the later areas but man what did they do to the last 10 or so bosses? There had almost zero difficulty
Personally liked it way more than Lies of P, they nailed the exploration, environmental and level design everything else was mediocre
they forgot that the player could upgrade their weapon, and didn't give the bosses bigger health bars
Even the "mini-bosses" that keep showing up were more difficult
and what the frick was that last boss fight? what a shitty gimmick
it's the demon souls "last boss is easy on purpose because something something story"
I will try the secret ending that apparently exist later when there's a couple of more patches
I liked it and figured it out instantly it was one of those fight. The manbaby king right before was great too so I'm not bothered.
Going for Inferno playthrough right now and I'll see what changes
Umbral ending final boss is the hardest. You didn't beat the game.
Kyasuka*
whoops
I have yet to see a pvp clip past day 1 where someone isn't using holy
Mainly because I'm the only one posting anything
that's not true
100% of players use the lightsaber
>turn on auras
>attack like a fricking moron
>win
i must be like 85% of the way through the game and i think i'm dropping it. every fight i just facetank out trade everything, none of the fights are interesting and none of the npcs/storylines are interesting
i liked pieta's voice though
>all those crutches
You did not beat it
>open webm
>see lightsaber
>close webm
man I'm so confused about the story
I have probably missed a few of the memories but it's all jumbled
Gods bad.
Hi, developers. Are you taking the piss?
oh yeah thats getting added to my slop collection
on the edge of my seat
DS1gays we are back
>iron flesh spell so that even the 800 gazillion damage lightsaber that attacks as fast as a dagger and has the range of a zweihander gets poise
wow the steam reviews weren't kidding, this really is the worst parts of all the souls games combined
Can you farm scourings without using glitches or exploits, or should you just farm vigor and buy them from Molhu?
molhu only sells 3
>without glitches or exploits
yes you just kill the red wraith repeatedly
Huh, i thought he was invincible.
>once you're in the endgame
I finished Pilgrim's Perch, i have 26 scourings, and i want Pietas sword RIGHT NOW.
nah you're gonna keep your bonker for now
Unacceptable.
For real though that's dumb. Boss weapons should be available and actually buyable the moment you get the boss soul. They should just cost vigor.
Buy shrimps from Molhu then cry that his stock ran out. Although I managed to buy more than 3 in my game.
Kill the red man a bunch of times. It's not too bad once you're in the endgame. The biggest downside is how little soul he drops.
Also, his spin to win move does absurd damage.
Hey webm poster, can you beat up some red umbral ghosts real quick?
sorry i just uninstalled the game.
just imagine
except I'm also standing in the Sanctify sigil (regen when standing on the sigil, radiant spell)
>First boss
>Best sword
No wonder it costs 40 scouring.
They all cost 40
Most boss weapons cost 20. Pieta's is the only that costs 40 both versions
It's a passive buff that gives you infinite poise during charge attacks.
Every other weapon I've looked at costs 10-20 scouring, only pieta's costs 40
So if I want the most bosses/challenge I should go for the Umbral ending? I dont care if everyone dies im starting NG+ after anyway
Yes.
footbawd
With the Pendant of Atrophy you can fire infinate umbral spells. If you have a beefed up catalyst and Latimer's Javelin you can just throw javelins that do 700 damage infinitely. Just killed the two stage not Guts boss at the bottom of the well by just throwing spears. I don't think they realized how strong that necklace is.
Where do you get it?
Revelation Depths, after the first flower bed. Keep going till you find a secret wall inside of Umbral. Revelation Depths is below Skinstealer.
Thanks, anon
I honestly think the controls are really good, animation jank aside. Even jumping feels better despite having the traditional Souls jump.
People think it's jank? I thought it was pretty clean. Even r1 spam has unique hits after a few. Some magic is boring but there's cool shit like Martyrdom.
Oh, there are a few animations that feel too "fast", if that makes sense. I think that Umbral Weapon is a clear example. There's also the obvious one where the character launches forward, though I don't mind this now that I've played the game for hours
I feel like it's just one of those things you have to get used to.
that's cool and all but you could just mash R1 and beat all bosses faster
I'm pretty sure R2s kill bosses way faster
Also, spells do a frickload of damage
Actually kinda agree. Dervela was so tall her hits just missed me by being tall. My first try and 20 hours awake I beat her first phase just spamming slash.
>Dervela was so tall
The hitboxes on dw daggers are so bad that when behind dervela they don't actually reach past her collision box to hit her body
It's really weird that Iron Pinneaple still hasn't made a video on this, is he a korean shill?
I'm amazed at how you guys find ways to cheese the game with obviously unbalanced stuff, keep on using them, keep on playing and keep complaining about the game. Subhuman behaviour.
What does this seek scourings thing mean after Dervala?
Get fifty shrimp and talk to Morlhu
>Two pure strength ultra greatswords
>One does split fire damage and has better scaling (why)
>The other does pure physical damage and has shit scaling
>The pure physical damage one does less damage because it's scaling is shit
>Even with +physical damage gems instead of strength scaling gems it does less damage (and doesn't have burn)
Just dual wield them ;^)
>dual wield the 40 weight ultras
just put the rune that reduces their stat requirements and weight to zero in them
in fact put that rune in a good quality or str/rad weapon
just use the one that requires some dex. it has solid scaling
No. The pale butcher? It's shit and im not using it.
Please don't make me even more asspained that I chose pure strength
>upgrade the sword to +7
>its says its supposed to get 2 rune slots
>it doesnt
you probably didn't give gerlinde more tablets. there's 3 of them, 1 per rune slot.
I believe this is due to the 2nd rune slot being something which unlocks when you bring a relic tablet to the smith. It will have 2 rune slots once you unlock 2 rune slots.
How the ammo works in this game?
It's replenished at vestiges and you also find consumables that can restore your ammo between vestiges.
But the ammo is universal?
Yep.
This will be fun.
when where
Hopefully they fix the moronic amount of damage non-boss enemies deal.
>This will be fun.
why? fighting gayboy is a shill who praised cyberpunk and banned everyone who criticized it
>spears have a sweet spot mechanic
>forward movement after first hit pushes you out of the sweet spot
Hm...
use charged R2s with 2 spears
With endings this shit it makes you regret wasting time playing it. This is garbage beyond misery porn.
I don't think I've soulflayed anything past the tutorial zone. Why bother when my spells hit for 1000+ damage
how long until someone finds out a way to cheat-in the hidden classes?
im convinced that the only people defending this game are pieta sword monkeys that cheesed their way through their entire playthrough and feel entitled to give advice because the game was piss easy for them
yeah tell me how im supposed to get through the frozen village area that has 3 stone faces with dual daggers go frick yourselves
You run through
I ran in circle while they were buttslamming each others.
Kite and soulflay.
I just killed everything around them
It's the drake sword all over again
I just like this game holy is usefull unlike elden cringe
Holy is super useful in ER because it's associated with powerful as frick gimmicks like percentage based health damage
t. made a playthrough entirely with black knife and cipher pata and had zero issues
I dont consider the op destined death holy cause the game has the same engine as dork souls 3 and just swapped one element for another
Destined death is LITERALLY holy, both mechanically and thematically.
It's quite literally a part of an Elden Ring that got ripped out of it.
Nah its that birth shit queen that the pet of maricon killed anyway
And so is fire with blackflame. Holy's identity isn't destined death.
its actually worse in every way possible because at leas the drake sword had drawbacks - its short and has no scaling. pietas sword is long, has great scaling, pure holy damage, and has longer reach than most weapons.
And pure physical weapons aren't even all that common and those that exist tend to be pretty shit and you get extra lore by getting magic stats.
Soulslikes and souls mods tend to completely shaft pure phys builds in favor of "epic" melee+caster ones. Annoys the frick out of me
>pieta sword monkeys that cheesed their way through their entire playthrough and feel entitled to give advice because the game was piss easy for them
Thats me but I just insult people for being shit instead.
simple, don't use dual daggers
the game was tested only with holy damage in mind. smite is essentially magical bleed, and pierta is a shortsword making it faster than majority of the shit in the game with some reach still
the balancing in this game is frickin terrible.
They don't give you anything for beating them bro just ignore them I learned that the hard way
I'm using the angel's axe or whatever it's called
>Lies of P had a positive, hopeful ending where most likeable NPCs survived, Sophia's torment came to an end and the true antagonist even managed to die in a satisfying fashion
>all 3 LOTF endings are garbage and siding with a literal Satan is the best out of a bunch
i just wanted a decent last boss
wet fart ending
And the only thing that makes it the best is that you don't die.
God of light ending sounds like he's going to annihilate most of the existence
Adyr is just going to rule in an "evil demon god" fashion.
They're exactly the same shit. It's not even subtle with rhogar being a reflection of humanity and Adyr going about how humanity is evil bad and wicked while he's just as bad.
People are going to get slaughtered and whoever survives gets to be a slave to some cartoonishly evil genocidal power.
>tfw no route where we purify Judge Cleric and Pieta as well as redeeming Harkyn
>no save the Commander and Exactor route to bring true justice back to Mournstead
There should just be a super secret frick yeah humanity ending where you abuse the fact the lamp can devour gods to destroy them all.
>form a new trinity of judges with the Crusader and two others
>abuse the thin veil to Umbral by turning Umbral itself into the barrier that keeps gods away
>establish the Knights Fidelis as the new peacekeepers
>try to ignore the ticking eldritch time bomb
>wait until another sequel where shit goes wrong again
I don’t want to play as some goofy twink
>lamp has an annoying input delay when you activate the absorb mode that makes handling the groups of parasite protected enemies an obnoxious headache, especially if any sort of ranged Black person is involved
>soul flay is fricking useless beyond pilgrim perch
This game needs like an entire additional year of balancing
the animations like that need a little bit of a frickin speed boost. they did it with picking up souls, and they need it for this shit also. its clunky as frick and makes exploring also feel like a slog, that is already a slog to begin with
I hope Last Faith is decent. This is going to be the last "soulslike" released this year.
they'll have to change the parry first because as of now it's indicative of the fact that they have no FRICKING idea what they're doing
I'm enjoying my replay of the game and story makes way more sense on top of NPC dialogue also making sense now. Breezing through the game now since I know most of the mechanics. Just go the first tablet for the smith. Tried to do early frozen hellhole early on but a +3 weapon is a bit tight to do the boss proper.
why is she barefoot?
>Developer's thinly veiled fetish
I clapped.
is that the final area in the game? Black person how do you only have 6 estus? What level are you? Im in upper calrath and have only lit 1 beacon and my health bar looks the same as yours
Maybe he consumed a few on his way there?
I'm 108 and yeah I only have 6 (and a half) flasks. I thought at this point 7 was like max or something. must've missed some then I guess. Ive just used a lot of those red healing rocks when going through areas. I haven't used up all my flasks at bosses since like the halfway point of the game so whatever
IS THAT GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE
code vein rip off
Dark Souls kinda ruined me in the sense that I find gothic architecture supreme now and everything else looks boring in comparison
>Dark Souls
>gothic architecture
>Anor Londo
>not gothic
>Dark souls ripoff is when you have 12th to 17th century architecture in ur gaymes
Don't foget the undead burg ripoff by having zombies next to stone/wood buildings 😉
There are only 2 acceptable forms of architecture:
1) Gothic
2) Whatever you wanna call what the Awoken do in Destiny 2
>Host stays long enough in Umbral that the red phantom arrives
>Nobly fight it for as long as I could I fell off a platform and died because Pilgrim's Perch
>Go into spectator mode to see how far the host has run away, a Vestige should be close by
>He got killed by mobs
More like dark souls 1 in map design and new mechanics like the umbral dimension
Ammo system is exactly like quicksilver bullets THOUGH.
except you regain ammo mid-level through normal consumables instead of sacrificing health if you run out
and ranged weapons are MASSIVELY overpowered compared to Bloodborne guns
I think there is a necklace/talisman that instead causes you to take wither damage instead of use ammo when you use ranged weapons.
>except you regain ammo mid-level through normal consumables instead of sacrificing health if you run out
This is actually worse.
Didnt know that detail cool cause backstab of bloodborne was the most annoying mid combat
I want to cuddle with infernal enchantress.
i cant tell acceptable level ranges for these areas because i really dont know how coop works either. does it take into account like, upgraded items too like later souls games ended up doing matchmaking?
it doesn't matter because you can invade/be summoned to any zone no matter where you are at the time. Just try a bunch and see where you end up and that'll give you an idea of where similar people are at.
That being said i strongly suggest you don't engage in multiplayer in this game, the netcode is the up there with the absolute worst.
