For those who don't know this is basically a weeb love child of total war and games like dominions and COE, overworld conquest with real time battles, you conquer lands go through stories, recruit powerful heroes, you can also play free mode or with randomised factions, it was made in the so caled vahren engine there is a bunch of different mods for it if you can into moonrunes, here's a list with dl links

Are all the characters set, or are there generated ones? How easy it is to mod in your own characters without them feeling like FDR attending a ballet school?
All characters are set and there's a lot of them, I don't really know as I never tried to make a character of my own tbh
Cool, Thanks. Or rather uncool? It is understandable, but I like to get a few custom characters and play essentialy "world conquest" mode, before I touch the story. It makes that first game of conquest more interesting, and when I get to story (If there is one) I already have a few characters I'm invested in from meeting them in the 1st game.
It's a weird as frick way to play, but that's how I enjoy it the most.

I remember trying out beastmen after translation, and the lizardmen fricked me hard.
Anon crime is the demon faction, they've been translated! Also yeah lizards are a pain,you gota use range and magic as much as possible
I don't understand the lizardmen. When the AI uses them they rip through everything, I had like 10x their forces as elves and got obliterated. Then after training to ridiculous levels and finally beating them, I recruit some lizardmen and they're just "ok". Though I'm pretty sure each lizard is just 10x better than your normal human unit. If the AI wasn't so dumb sometimes the lizards would win every game, I swear.
also it seems the secret to elf victory is to just never use any units under level 20. Elves melt against everything but once they gain some levels they seem to go super saiyan.
Most allied npcs are stupider than enemy ones in most games. Why the hell do you think escort missions are so loathed by gamers whenever they crop up?
Oh no, I meant the enemy AI being dumb. Like the lizards don't seem to be aware of how powerful their units are, they could've pushed my shit in several times but didn't attack. Or when you're defending a fort and they chase your cavalry in circles. Or when you attack a fort and they stay inside when you only have archers and are pelting them to death... well to be fair, without this cheese I probably wouldn't win because I'm not very good at the game.
though one trick I didn't realize until today was that if you encircle an enemy faction's leader and beat them in battle, they can't retreat so the entire faction implodes all at once. So maybe I'm getting better.
Their units are very strong but are hard countered by certain things, only they can't recruit very many other units or commanders to compensate for that like everyone else can.
Playing as them is a mix of effortlessly rolling over everything and occasionally wondering what the frick you're supposed to do against that fort filled with mages
If they didn't have the one dude with a bow they'd lose half the battles to kiting, like each unit is a t-rex that shreds everything but can't reach anything with its tiny hands
Its that their standard unit (Lizard warrior) is an ok, but normal fighter until (i think) level 16, when they get regeneration, from that point on they are more or less invincible. Only way to deal with them lategame is to spam and micromanage high level mages since they are vulnerable to magic and even then its a pain because you frontline is gonna be thorn to shreds. Its been awhile since i playd but that is the gist of it, as i remember. Idealy you want to take out Lizardmen asap before their units start reaching lvl 16 and getting regen.
But the shota demon is in the beastman faction.
Yeah, thats pretty cool, though based on their power level, isn't that just the game's easy mode?

IIRC, I could use her to recruit some of crime's officers, though it was disappointing that some heroes were unattainable in my campaign

It's really easy to mod the game so everyone is potentially recruitable.

Crime has a lot of story events and interactions damn, empire's got teeth this run too they fricked up dwarves and elves, and i lost a couple of my experienced groups of frontline devils here to their mages and heroes
I remember hearing it had multiple "routes" is that true or not?
Dont know about demon faction but empire has has 2 routes, the normal one and one you can trigger by getting your capital surrounded, thats also the only way to get the good ending for Agnes
