God stripped the blessings from Job and let Satan do as he would, so long as Job himself was not harmed. God was confident in Job's faith, but this was very much a test of it.

I think that your definition of Satanic is wrong. Satan as an entity or title has been diluted in the cultural consciousness as some eternal foe of God rather than a deliberately introduced burr of temptation and indiscretion. Time and again God tests humanity as individuals and in the aggregate, and time and again it is shown that faith in God is not synonymous with lack of temptation but with willingness to ask forgiveness and repent. Furthermore, the sacrifice of Christ on the cross specifically absolved humanity of original sin and the law of the Hebrews. All your old testament dross campaigning against human sexuality was specifically overturned by the crucifixion.

Hey, I didn't even try to argue in bad faith that if the dog isn't someone's wife it's perfectly fine to lust after her according to the commandments, and it's only lying with the animal that's an abomination. We're specifically keeping to broad strokes, and you've failed to refute the grace and glory of Christ's sacrifice.

My point was that your definition of Satanism was dismissive of Satan's historical role as a deliberate tool of God's design to test humanity with the ultimate goal of driving them closer to God, and then tangential to that I made the point that many of the temptations and even lapses of faith are no longer themselves grounds for damnation, so long as one repents and asks for Christ's forgiveness.

I'll even be charitable and presume that you're holding to the biblical conception of Hell as merely being distance from God and no longer receiving of His grace, rather than the pit of fire and eternal punishments that were wholly dreamed up by Dante.

Again, you're getting ahead of yourself. As I said before, the entire purpose of Christ's sacrifice was so that we COULD all go to heaven through His grace.

Temptation to sin is only fatal to the soul if it prevents one from seeking forgiveness and closeness to God. No man is without sin, and thus it is only through Christ's grace that we can be saved at all.
