its very difficult to get guard broken in Elden Ring and you can stab while guarding. So you can attack, build up the effect of your weapon (bleed or frost) with 100% damage negation. Its the counter to the Melenia boss fight as well. All you have to watch out for is grabs, therfore Astel is the hardest fight you are going to encounter with that build, everything else is piss easy.
Shields are easy mode in Souls and ER buffed them because the kinds of shitters that rely on them are typically extremely bad at videogames so they whined a lot about them not being literal "god mode from the front whenever you press L1 with anything bigger than a small shield" in DS2 and 3 like they were in DS1. So a shield with a pokey weapon that inflicts bleed is broken because 90% of enemies in this game bleed and you're completely safe while poking from behind a greatshield. Str weapon gays always been bitter they get rolled by Dex meta gays with running katana R1s or thrusting sword r1 spam, etc.
Smart Str gays are all greatshield users because they realize that Str is a defensive stat, it makes you literally immune to all damage and its pretty busted if you use it this way. Bleed or Frost or another proc effect can carry the damage anyway.

why is it broken?
its very difficult to get guard broken in Elden Ring and you can stab while guarding. So you can attack, build up the effect of your weapon (bleed or frost) with 100% damage negation. Its the counter to the Melenia boss fight as well. All you have to watch out for is grabs, therfore Astel is the hardest fight you are going to encounter with that build, everything else is piss easy.
Shields are easy mode in Souls and ER buffed them because the kinds of shitters that rely on them are typically extremely bad at videogames so they whined a lot about them not being literal "god mode from the front whenever you press L1 with anything bigger than a small shield" in DS2 and 3 like they were in DS1. So a shield with a pokey weapon that inflicts bleed is broken because 90% of enemies in this game bleed and you're completely safe while poking from behind a greatshield. The cross naginata is just a good weapon in general basically, probably one of the best regular weapons in the game with the occult infusion.
Why would you use Cross Naginata and not 2 hand it? The 2 handed moveset is too cool not to use.

I never understood the Dex hate, it plays pretty much the same as strength builds. Also there are slow Dex weapons and fast Str weapons, so even that can't be used to differentiate them really. And it's not even a dichotomy, since Quality weapons exist.
The real gays are INT users. They basically use the most passive and boring playstyle possible.
Despite usually being generally better than dex weapons, str weapons are perceived as worse because SoulsBlack folk don't even know their own games that well. So they mistakenly believe clearing the games with a strength build makes them really good at games, despite doing probably the easiest melee build possible.
