I just realized the "legacy factions" are more like "luxury factions."
They aren't being reproduced by GW, so only people who can afford entire armies made of OOP models can play them.
Are you a poorgay and playing one of the supported factions, or are you a successful adult who can afford luxury miniatures?
I'm going to buy into Chaos Dwarfs, myself, and no, I won't play with you if you play a supported faction.

Why bother if GW is already preparing to drop support for the game? Its biggest announcment since launch was abandoning promised releases
Because I have nothing better to spend my money on. If I have $500 to spend on anything I want, I'm sure as shit getting one of these instead of a bunch of McDonald's whoppers or whatever the frick normalgays spend their money on.
theres an infinite amount of shit to spend money on... including saving and better games
>no new releases for a month and a half
>it's so fricking over bros....
Why play this when total war exists? If 40k had one decent videogame, the tabletop would collapse. That's why all 40k games are shit.
Because video games are gay. Rolling dice and painting minis is fun.
cope
Why are you even on this board? Tabletop Warhammer is far more satisfying than staring at a screen by yourself in your room, for hours on end, like an ape.
>only people who can afford entire armies made of OOP models can play them.
Anon, with the exception of chaos dwarfs all of those factions have full model ranges available from GW. They are easier to build an army for than any of the "core" factions.
You want me to play against a Lizardmen army made of AoS models? No thanks.
you can get saurus warriors old sculp from 5th edition pretty cheap on ebay atleast. Or just get a damn 3D printer
This is borderline non-verbal levels of autism you're embodying here anon. You know this right? What makes you so fricking special to deserve all of these requirements for you to grace us with your presence?
I don't "want" you to play against anything. Up to you if you "want" to hamper your ability to find a game by imposing misguided requirements.
anon, you can buy models to play those factions right now
Read threads before posting in them, please. It's common courtesy.
why should I pay you any courtesy when you have these absolutely moronic opinions?
Why don't you read threads before replying to them? You just end up getting caught and looking like an idiot like right now. And then you lash out when somebody calls you out on it. Lol.
>Why don't you read threads before replying to them?
Because you're post is moronic and you deserve to be called moronic, but go on and keep on crying.
90% of the legacy faction ranges are still sold for AoS moron
Piracy and third party factions
I don't understand why you couldn't just use Old fantasy models and armies in aos
Because they dont have rules? It will requre heavy proxying, with models that tend to be significantly smaller
Doesn't everyone own like 60 of these diagonal frickers kicking around the house?
There's your core
Most of the legacy factions still have models sold by GW, they're just sold for AoS instead of TOW. Skaven, Ogre and Lizardman ranges were basically transposed wholesale from WHFB to AoS. Dark Elves and Vampires do have more of their stuff OOP, but a lot of their models still got at least close enough equivalents in AoS. Chaos Dwarves are the only ones that are basically impossible to find outsude 3rd party manufacturers or ebay, but that's because their model range consisted entirely of Forgeworld models (or the ancient metal minis).
It's funny, I probably have enough for 4k points of Skavens / VCs.
But square bases were so ugly, I'm so glad they were phased out. So I'm staying on AoS where they actually have their random rules and shit and the better bases.
Sorry secondaries.
I too am playing chaos dwarf and buying current GW plastics to kitbash it all
>They aren't being reproduced by GW, so only people who can afford entire armies made of OOP models can play them.
My brother in christ, have you checked the Age of Sigmar tab?
Just rebase them, like everybody is doing, it's not like you have the base size charts online for free
There are some models aos doesn't cover though (mostly the isle of blood rat ogres. Why on earth does GW still sell the ancient ones?)
Because they are on 1 sprew with helfs and thus can ONLY be sold in a VS box against helfs.
Since then GW learned to not mix have 2 armies on 1 sprew
I think they'll remake the sprues for the island of blood models.
>afford
>buy
why did you throw your 8e models away?
If you're literally too fricking stupid to put some Age of sigmar minis in a line on top of a cardboard rectangle, then there's nothing we could possibly do to help you with that anon. It's really not rocket science; they're plastic army men,
stupid fricking hipsters ruined Warhamner collecting
Actually saw some stereotypical hipster soi gape because he found a model for nearing $1000 (it isnt worth that)
These morons have been pushing up the prices.
They just released an entire new range of basically every single unit in a vampire counts army. There are now even several different versions of crypt ghouls, half a dozen vampire lords and multiple variants of the AoS equivalent of strigoi vampires. They also did a huge range refresh on lizardmen.
thank you janny and a good day to you.
and he does it for free
Isn't chaos dwarves the only OOP faction there?
>you can only use GW approved first party miniatures
>you can only use GW approved first party miniatures with the name 'THE OLD WORLD' stamped on the box
you're a moron and deserve nothing
>Dark Elves
>Vampire counts
Those are two of the most popular factions in WHFB.
which is why the AOS team wouldn't let them go
AoS team already redesigned every non-Endtimes VC unit
It's not about AoS getting ahead, it's about trying to sabotage TOW.
>They aren't being reproduced by GW
Buddy literally all of those factions outside of chaos dwarves is being produced by GW just with round bases.
Actually, having bought some more Dark Elves this past month, they come with 8th edition sized bases in the box.
>so only people who can afford entire armies made of OOP models can play them.
Aside from chaos dwarves, all of these factions have a majority of their models or equivalents still being sold by GW
TOW is a scam to milk total war and nostalgia for a game people didn't play because they were 15 when it was last sold. No shit the entire thing is a "luxury" enthusiast product. Its a pump and dump. Why do you think they showed a bunch of early stuff about Kislev and Cathay and after launch went "lol we indefinitely shelves that jkjkjk". Its a rug pull.
What if I play one of these factions using drawings on pieces of cardboard?
