Imagine farming up all of the skills and training them to r1 the hard way years ago.
eh. It's been so long I don't care anymore. As long as I have people to hang out with I'm happy.
I've been getting fireball and arrow revolver pages from doing quest dungeons so I figured I'd go and finish up the spells while I'm still hyper-charged from all of the early game boosts. I've played Mabi across multiple characters but never quite hit that midgame point where you'd pick up these intermediate spells, and I didn't think the game would just outright give them to you now.
Turns out the boosts didn't stop. I finally looked at the wiki and there's still 15,000 levels worth of freebies left. I'm at total level ~5k and I've mostly been slow-walking Blaanid's stuff because I like the free teleports while I get all my other shit sorted out like production skills, homestead workstations, etc.

It would be nice but Mabinogi is a frickhuge game and they'd likely have to remake most of the assets, to say nothing of quest triggers and events that can't be imported 1:1 in a new build of the game.
If it's something they're genuinely working on, it's literal years off and it'll almost certainly be sold as "Mabinogi 1.5" in the event that there isn't a wipe.
All we've seen as proof that they're working on it is a single NPC model got redone and that they've said it'll likely mean cuts to unused content.
They gave no timeframe, they gave no explanation on what unused content would mean, they did not specify if this means a wipe or not, and we have no idea what it could potentially do to the feel of the game.
BUT there are things you can look at that have happened recently as a sign of their potential progress. Old content from generations is being worked on. They are streamlining them to be easier to understand, the major npcs have had model reworks(not on the level of Nao the NPC they showed for unreal 5), those NPCs have voices now where previously they did not, beginner content as a whole is being restructured to help players "catch up" to veterans, and a lot of random QoL changes or just things around the world to help clean the game up.
I forgot to add that with the things they're doing and have done you could probably guess that they've been working on it for a bit. The idea did not come up a month ago.

As someone who did G1/2/3 a decade ago and is going through them again now, casualizing the matchmaking portion and the "talk to every fricking living thing in emain macha" portion is easily the best thing they've done for new players.

I've always heard this game compared to Runescape but looking at endgame videos honestly reminds me more of Lineage or even Diablo, it looks faster than any other MMO I've played
The skill system is vaguely similar.
Mabinogi has like 200 skills or something like that and they all can be leveled up independently.
But Runescape would say let you chop oak trees forever to hit 99 Mabinogi might give you a different task for every level in the skill and you cannot progress without doing that. Simply using a skill is often not enough.
But most Mabinogi skills are very easy to level up. You'll spend an hour tops for most of them.
Combat and actual gameplay is nothing like Runescape.
It's runescape in the "set your own goals and pursue them how ever you want" sort of way rather than gameplay.

Divine weapons/Demolition/Revenant weapons. After that it's Perseus/Ruination. Endgame: Nightbringer. Some celtic weapons are still good like the staves.

You don't need to find anything in particular besides possible set bonuses or have their own passive bonuses. Fleet feet for example gives 10% movement speed, while Rosemary gloves give 15% damage to ice spells.

Do reforges of the same type stack?
the short answer: no
long answer: sometimes. accessories can have the same reforges as other parts and they will stack, though you will usually find that reforge lines are exclusive to only one piece of gear (e.g. smash damage only shows up on weapons and accessories. you can't get smash damage on all equipment parts).
echostone reforges do not stack with equipment reforges
some like protection or raw stat buffs(luck,str, etc.) but as the other anon said most skill buffs are limited to one specific item slot

You can do PTJs, they give free mats and manuals/patterns that are good all the way up to R9. This is the most tedious option but you don't have to spend any gold until R8-R1.

Lately they have been putting expiration times on the pots to prevent that.
There are likely many older players who still have loads of the older pots with no expiration.
I know I have a few.
Master plan happens twice a year, one in the summer and one in the winter. Both last for about 2-3 months. Pretty much what the other anon mentioned. x2 combat exp, x2 skill training, x2 pet exp, x2 spirit weapon exp, baltane missions exp limit removed(elite caps you at lvl 150 if you didn't know), x2 stardust rewards. Special timed titles with crazy nice stat boost and more exp boost.
Pretty much just a great time to play the game. You even notice a slight player increase

There's some bags on the AH with pets that automatically pick them up, but I just learned about the memesickle last night so I imagine there's something even dumber and easier.

All you get from small stars are the fishing pole, and you can only buy one of them.
The "Vivi's Stars" you turn in for the daily quest, and to get more bait for the event.
As
mentioned, the only way you can get the Star Powder needed to get the homestead figures or pots is by turning in figures or pots.
Since not all the pots work with all the figures, you will have an excess of pots.
Despite complaining about the user experience and sheer RNG of the figure part of the fishing event, it really paid off. I ended up increasing my homestead figure Max Damage, Critical Damage, Music Buff Effect, Bonus Damage, and Movement Speed by at least one point each. Relatively speaking, that's a pretty big jump when homestead figures in events and gacha typically add one or two points for a single category.
The flaming fishing pole, bags, enchant prots, equip unlocks, and crafting materials were great too.
10/10 event.

By sarificing pets through Fynni Sync, only bought pets will increase the summon time
I'm pretty sure you can use pets from events for it as well.
One of the pet training skills lets you increase the time but you have to sacrifice other pets to do so, also fynni pets count too I believe so you don't actually have to use any of your main pets as sacrifice. Pet training talent mechanics on boosting pets can get confusing because there's a lot of shit to learn but easy enough once you get the gist of it.

Use holy water of lymilark to bless your equipment. It reduces durability loss. You can get it from the church part time job or buy some from the auction house.

get phantasmal sight and find a public gathering homestead and you'll get more ore much faster. optionally, synthesis iron/copper/silver ore into gold ore and sell it on the auction house for like 10k each because nobody really sells gold ore

I tried it, but I couldn't figure out how to get pets to work.
Ctrl+click on the bag, it auto-collects within your range. Also make sure item collection isn't disabled and that you're using a pet that can pick up weaving materials.
Admittedly I just died, the boss saw through my Play Dead, but the pet will collect items even if you're down which is hilarious. I filled up on 600 cobwebs while I was cooking dinner.
So I activate the bag, go into boss room and aggro until spiders show up, then elf hide?
Pretty much, make sure the pet is summoned from the doll bag and try to idle up north or near the middle of the room.
You can also just die and hang out if you've still got soul stones for the free revive+bless.

No problem. It's pretty busted, especially if you can bring in some sturdy cobweb bags. I leave with 2k cobwebs and it takes me about an hour to process all of them before selling.
You can get a lot more than that.
I think you were confused about dollbags vs. pets since you seemed to be using the terms interchangeably. Here's a step by step guide.
>Summon your pet and use the Blaanid/Memorial Link (I don't know what this skill is called) to send its protection/stats sky-high
>Enter the boss room and let the boss aggro onto your pet
>Go into Hide and let her repeatedly ensnare your pet, summoning spiders every time she does so
>Summon the bear dollbag to let it pick up cobwebs while you are in Hide. Dollbags are not considered to be targets for enemies so you don't have to worry about it getting killed
>I like to walk around in Hide since the dollbag has a short lesah, so walking around will make sure it follows you to patches of cobwebs it didn't normally get.
If done correctly, you can get a moronic amount of spiders summoned, as seen here
How long would it take a new player to farm enough ducats for some sturdy pouches? I grabbed a few normal ones off the AH but some of them got to be 500k or more
commerce is a bit of a grind when starting out but it shouldn't be bad when they hand you 300k ducats for completing bronze ranks

Ask your guildmates, you do have guildmates right? There's a literal help system when you open up the quest menu at the top right of the quest menu. You select what quest you need help from and it'll make an announcement to the server for anyone that wants to help you

Has anyone here tried the JP Mabinogi server? Many mmo games with JP servers always have their own content specific to JP servers. Is Mabinogi similar?
Pretty much. Korean devs let them do and have anything. Every so often we might get some of jp's table scraps.
Yes, but playing on JP is abysmal due to high latency and the IP block. Your only privilege is that you get to dab on other servers for the amount of anime content they get.
Honestly, nowadays there isn't much they have that other servers don't. The doppelganger skill and ninja used to be exclusive to them, but every server has those now. They have Nekojima, but Doki Doki Island is similar outside of a few things like the dungeon. If you really want to experience that content, it's in the MabiPro private server, which uses the G13 JP server files as a base.

I use the gems for weapon food, I just figured it'd be better to maximize xp as well. Or that better fish give more/better gems.
I think spirit gems from clearing dungeons and shadow missions far outpace the amount of EXP you get from burning fish.

As you approach late-game it narrows more and more until basically only very specific builds are usable.
the only damaging skills here are Summon Golem and I guess Mana Crystallization
Summon Golem does okay early but it's going to fall off a cliff in terms of usability later (short tether control range on Golem and lack of scaling make it easily dealt with).

I don't really understand why you wouldn't. Construct Alchemy is almost entirely made up of pseudo-life skills. How did you plan on doing combat with no combat skills?
Hide in a corner behind barriers and throw sand while golem fights.
They don't even let you use Barrier Spikes in a lot of content because it fricks with AI and enemy pathing.
Sand burst is a Battle Alchemy skill btw.

Have you ever used Golem? It's basically almost unusable. You have to constantly spam attack because the AI forgets to continue attacking. And doing that inbetween your own attacks.

Construct Alchemy is basically just battle alchemy part 2. You gain nothing by choosing to run only 1 of them. Battle and Construct are basically the same talent.
Construct Alchemy needs a complete revamp. Fricking unnerf golem and make it usable again.

Pretty much, but it's not that big of a deal as there are still plenty of R8-R6 enchants that are still good. Also there will be an enchant revamp on the way where you choose to sacrifice the enchant 100% instead of the equip.

Feels like most of the enchants I've been finding are baby-tier gains like +2 max damage, +5 dex, etc. and I was wondering why there's so much risk for such granular increases. Though I've been digging through the wiki and it looks like I just haven't found any of the big ticket scrolls yet.

The frick would you choose to sacrifice an enchant over the equip? if your equip is expensive, you can shell out another few mil for an enchant prot and the enchant itself if likely at least as much as it would cost to unfrick your item if you rendered it unenchantable, if not a dozen times more expensive. Maybe if it were a staff prefix, but there's like a limited amount of enchants I could see that being useful for.

You don't need bank space. Old armor? sell it and move on, same with weapons. Find new stuff on the ground, use it all.

It mattered back in like 2013 and earlier, but now it doesn't matter until lategame where you want to optimize stats. You can rebirth your character every week and choose the same age or younger, from 10 to 17. If you choose a younger age when you rebirth, you will need to age up at a rate of one year per real life week to return to an older age. Your character stops physically growing at age 17, but there are event potions that can set your appearance to ages 9 and 10.
TLDR:
It doesn't matter at all and you can pretty freely age up and down with some caveats.

HOWEVER there is one title you only get ONE shot per character to get, which is getting to lvl100 with no rebirths,

The Level Up buff is best for you starting out. The Talent Training buffsm Combat/Weapon Enhancement, and Advanced Growth buffs will be mostly irrelevant to you until you get established.

On one occasion the lost enemy seemingly timed out and it just considered that segment "finished," the missing corpse was on the ground while the other enemies had faded away.

When opening a chest that is anticipated to be a mimic, how do I deal with it as an archer? When playing with melee I can just smack the chest before it attacks but archer the cast time gets me hit.
This is a very broken but viable tactic.
Ride a mount when opening the chest, it will not aggro if it's a mimic and if it's not a mimic it will open. If you NEED to kill the mimic to clear a room windmill or any other ground target aoe will work.
I know that pets are important but I feel disuaded to use them because of the timers.

Bard buffs+food buffs from cooking and catering skill+Glyphs from Glyphwrite talent+support techniques+Harmonic Saint arcana+(optional pet boosted with certain fynn beads)
The old way was to just spam pets with healing aoe's. This is all implying you're in a party with people who can run shit but by the time you get all that, you might as well be dps'ing with them. The plus side is I don't think you need good gears for all that so you could still be useful. This is actually a pretty interesting topic.

We just got Elemental Knight and Harmonic Saint in December. Last month they announced Alchemic Archer and Dark Mage, which are set to arrive on the KR test server later this month. KR will be getting it in August, which means we'll probably see it in February.

The concept of higher-order classes is far-and-away the most interesting thing to me about Mabinogi. It's the kind of thing I've been hurting for in FF14 ever since they removed cross-class actions. I like the idea that progress on different classes can feed into a complete system rather than just being a character select for raiding.

Those are generations, which are the main story quests in this game.
Yes, they are boring slogs, but they usually unlock new skills and systems that will be needed for content. Also, I don't recommend rushing through them because all you'll do is burn yourself out. This is a good opportunity to start making your own goals.

Fluid rotations but absolutely no room for expression or customization, both in playstyle and with gearing. Everything is obscenely homogenized so there's virtually no difference between a Bard and a Machinist, whereas in Mabi every single talent brings something different to the table and "role" is based more on gear selection than anything.

All progress is progress, even if you don't intend to play with a talent long-term its gains still heavily influence other playstyles, and some utility actions can still be used even outside of that talent. Incredibly dated engine causes a lot of jank though, whether it's mechanical latency and bizarre input buffering or just enemies and other players being in seven places simultaneously because the server can't handle what's going on. A lot of talents boil down to spamming two or three abilities, whereas in FFXIV even the braindead jobs still have a comprehensive role.
for the magic i hate how thaumaturge (and i will assume this extends to other magic jobs as well) spells have literally no impact
at least with mabi the screen shakes and the sound and strike effects for different spells and elements are distinct, with fireball thunder and meteor strike i get to feel like an uber powerful mage instead of throwing piddle piss fire splashes around
i also hate the classic mmo sliding around stuff and wonky auto attack but that's more of a complaint for non action mmos in general
i will say reaper looks like i'd enjoy it and from the reaper gameplay i've seen there's actual screen shake and impact behind the attacks but that's at level 70 lol, seeing reaper gameplay made me want to go EK again with scythe apperance scroll
I have the opposite problem with FF14, the jobs at endgame are so visually busy that you can't see shit unless you turn off all of the effects.
mabi does a good job of making attacks have the feeling of impact even if it's not really an action game

i really enjoy blm (esp SB blm before they neutered in EW) and most xiv combat, and i haven't gotten far in mabi yet but the combat is not that great for me
but I see that you care about things I absolutely do not care about or actually hate, like animations and screen shake... actually turn off screen shake in literally every game possible
the things I care about are like BLM having just enough mobility tools to generally keep full uptime or nearly full uptime during most mechanics in savage/ultimate, but it requires lots of planning and good execution
the spell rotation is a good balance of simple enough for the basics, but there are layers and layers of optimizations you can do real the full potential
and even at level 34 you have a good basic rotation and my biggest complaints would be tab targetting + cast time + mobs quickly dying in dungeons makes for an awful experience and that you have to be a timetraveller to react to firestarter procs properly
contrasted to mabi where so far 99% of the time you are casting fire/ice/thunderbolt over and over

Load times were incredibly restrictive in terms of design and filtered out a lot of newbies because they thought pressing the skill meant they used it. We got like four talents before they made fighter and realized all talents should play like that.

Bullshit. They're the same in-between attack interval as cooldowns, except better because instead of waiting 5 seconds before you can swing your sword again, you can immediately pick your sword back up and reposition yourself for the next swing.

Sometimes, especially during homestead themed events, they hand out things like Dry Ovens and Cherry Blossom trees out. You can buy ovens from other players too. You should get a dry oven, they completely botched crafting from steam ovens where it only has one use: training crystallization.

Just set up your pet's AI. Or just take the easy route and just download those pre made AI scripts from Mabinogimods. Also afk farming is next to impossible outside instances. The game has an anti bot feature on mobs and the spawns will start getting fewer and fewer until you move.

You nailed why XIV's combat is bad. It's not because it feels bad to play, it feels good in fact even with the high GCD. But every Bard is like every Bard, there's no difference. Gearing is just collect whichever gear is next in line. And dungeons/raids are very formulaic.
Even if I don't like Mabi's gimmick bosses, I'm glad they're there. I don't like reforges but I'm glad they're there. I don't like a lot of things Mabi does, but they make the game overall more enjoyable.

Mabi has the same faults to a degree with crusader skills and transformations locked behind the story, but you can still play most of the game without those.
those are not comparable faults
you dont use transformations or crusader skills outside of divine link and shield for the movespeed unless you are actually in the boss fight that requires them
spike is used to reset boss AI (useful at BD to stop him from flying or at turtle to stop him from healing)
shield also gives advanced heavy stander in addition to the MS
blade doesn't really have a use outside of crusader raids but it does look cool
mabi is fun pretty early on

What are combo cards?
P2W items that can give you a multiplier to your skills. They list out skill on them that you use in order along with a percentage next to them, so if it says smash 10%, Windmill 20% you will smash for 1.1x damage and then if you wm you will wm for 1.2x damage. I think the highest possible damage for the last skill is 1.8x. They drop from like shadow missions and other mid level content. With this event you can craft cards that are useful instead of randomized, for instance having a single skill on them multiple times.
Combo cards have several types which are modified in their own ways, but they all require you to either have paid service to keep access to them or to obtain 30 day extension cards to keep using them. You can get two of these per season from commerce and also they are tradable/sellable on AH.

Can someone explain combo cards? Don't you have to pay to keep them from expiring? If so what is the point of the black combo card event?
The black ones allow you to make your own card without having to rely on using advancement seals to reroll normal cards or premium rerolls to reroll premium cards. You can also do things you can't normally do like make an all-hailstorm card.

F12 is an example. Anything past 4/F4 is a pain when you also have to handle movement and targeting. Would be nice if you could have ctrl+ and alt+ modifiers for your hotbars.

You do. Ctrl + # switches the number hotbars to whatever number of the 8 of them there are and Alt (or was it shift?) swaps your Fkey bar to the alternate Fkey bar temporarily so you can press the buttons on that one. You can change the hot keys I just mentioned in options and you can also set up hotkeys to press skills in the order you arranged them on whatever tab in the skill menu you have selected so you can use the letter keys if you want.
My key setup uses ` to swap between hotbar arrays, ctrl+tab to switch between hotbar sets one and two, and ctrl+z, x, c, and v to switch between quick slot tabs.
Just from swapping between hotbar arrays I'm able to have easy access to my Ranged, Close Combat, and Bard skills, and that's with suboptimal placement of my hotkeys. It can still be optimized further for access to more skills that are useful in combat on the fly, but its what I'm already used to.
The real crime in this game is that they force you to pay for Extra Equipment slots, which are already separate from paying for the game's fantasy life subscription.
Having access to these slots is incredibly huge value because it allows you to switch between more weapons on the fly rather than drag and drop from your two weapon sets.
It's possible to map skills to keys other than the F1 - F12, but it's either
1) Using mods to do so or
2) Using the in-game way to do so, which is jank as all hell. Rather than say, for example, W = Smash, you map W to use the first skill in the skill window. Yes, the same skill window you open with Z. However, this window has tabs (All, Life, Combat, Magic, etc), which means that you ALSO will need hotkeys to switch to specific tabs in the heat of combat if you want to use skills from a different talent or even if you happened to switch tabs to level up a skill. You can rearrange the order of the skills in the window by clicking icons to swap their positions.

Something like a golem boss, for example.
It's completely different from skillset to skillset, but for the most basic levels of combat, yeah. You can also use Defense and follow it up with Smash and then Assault Slash for more damage.

Personally I got sick of modded ones because you had to wait on those to be updated every week after maintenance plus a lot of the mods became outdated for modern mabinogi which gave me very little reason to keep modded clients installed. Also Steam is usually shitty for Korean MMOs.

Nexon hasn't gave a shit about mods in over 15 years. They know this game is a broken mess and most mods try to fix it. If you're talking about safe as in security safe then the only thing you might worry about it your anti virus/fire wall getting triggered by false reports. The mods they use pack stuff very deep so security software don't like files like that and give you false trojin reports so ignore or whitelist those if it happens.

Echostone upgrading is so good now. I managed to get grade 30 on one of my stones. I like how you can actually see yourself getting to grade 28 and 29 now. We had another guillly get all 3 of theirs to grade 30 earlier today. The rates are still ass though, get ready to see more of your grade 29 stones drop down to 25.

I'm trying to mine in the Hillwen area and the floating skulls were tilting me off the face of the earth.
For hillwen, I used alchemy. More importantly hydra transmutation since it slowly eats away at groups of enemies. Use lullaby then plant hydra. Its a great combo for a lot of early to mid game stuff.

you would need to work on raising your max damage / magic attack, the weapons would definitely increase it but not by a marginal amount
increasing damage in this game is confusing. all my stats are almost maxed out from skill training, and enchants only add so much. the only thing's I can think are echostones and reforges.
how much max / matk do you have? unfortunately maxing out skills hits a cap, a couple one thing i can recommend for magic is the special elemental harmony suit which boost ice fire and lightning magic damage by 15% otherwise it would be echostones, also the piercing stat is very important as well as it lets you cut through the enemies defense and protections which lets you get those big numbers if you want to use physical damage battlefield overture is insane as a proper music buff build can boost your max attack by 50%
aside from some life skills and arcana, the only stats I can get are from enchants, titles, and echostones. these are my current stats at lvl 93. my magic atk is that much from a staff with a magic atk 20/20 reforge on it.
ah at max arcana for harmonic saint you get 200 total magic attack, i'm assuming you have levels in ele knight too if youre trying to run glenn? both the arcanas allow you to break the stat cap so you would want to get those both to 50, also total level helps a lot with the shine of eweca, at 40k ttl you get the max benefits which also break the stat cap, if you have the master of meteor strike title thats a +50 magic attack boost right there
yeah, I have ele knight at 50 and I have the meteor title equipped as of right now. I guess I just need to save up and buy better gear. I'm starting to hit that upper limit.
What's your total level? You're missing a shitload of stats by being only level 93. Shine of Eweca gives a big boost to stats, up to current level 190, and the amount of stats it gives is based on your total level (the amount of stats you'll get at 190 will continue to grow, all the way up until total level 40k).
If you're intending to stick with mage, the biggest DPS increase you can get is getting a Demolition Deepglow Staff. At the time of writing, this will cost approximately ~160m to craft. This might seem like a lot of money, but it isn't that bad to make if you keep two things in mind:
1) Mabinogi is about the journey and not the destination. You don't need to farm a Demo staff in one day.
2) Making the money isn't the hard part, saving it is. If you start keeping track of all the frivolous purchases you make over the course of a month you will be embarrassed at how much gold you're bleeding. Cut back on all of the fashion and miscellaneous purchases and making a few mil here and there will add up to the 160m needed.
Not really too sure on what you can do for cheap Magic Attack enchants. I know staff enchants are fairly cheap but you might want to ask Req or Luna in the guild what you can do for bodywear.

You grind to 200 to do content where stats matter.
You rebirth constantly for AP and total levels so you can max out all your skills.
Rebirthing has a cooldown. Between that cooldown, you should be trying to get as high of a level as possible to not only increase your total level as high as possible, but to get more stats from Shine of Eweca to run content.

Really just lvl 190 to max out Shine of Eweca. That's when you get to get your Shine of Eweca skill(check the hidden skills tab in the skill menu) to rank 1 and get the full stat boost. The bonus stats you get from Shine of Eweca increases based on your cumulative level. At 40k levels you max out your buff and will get a massive boost whenever you reach lvl 190 normal levels. Pets also have their own Shine of Eweca but there's cap at 10k cumulative levels. The pet trainer talent can help easily reach that.
My total is right under 30k, so 29,245. I also would have been able to complete an entire set of endgame gear if I didn't spend all my money on fashion. fashion is cool, but not being able to kill stuff is pretty annoying.

Since last September, I think I've spent over 600m just on dyes and fashion alone. That's enough for a divine blade and a forest ranger chest piece. This is not an exaggeration as I've probably spent more than that.
Besides increasing your stats, debuffing the enemy and making use of some of the more esoteric power boosts helps. Firstly, there are potions that boost your power, both physical attack potions and magic power potions. The magic power potions have different types, but the one you want boosts your matk by 80. It's called Light Magic Power Potion. Another way to temporarily boost your magic attack is through the technique called Fateweaver. It has a lot of effects but generally pushing 5231 and then casting it is a good buff for you and a good debuff for the enemy. You can also just push 42 and use it to debuff. https://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Fateweaver tl;dr you get 10% max and magic attack. Exploit Weakness is another good tech that gives you a damage bonus and +1 pierce at max level. Phantasmal Sight also gives a debuff to enemies that makes them take a bit more damage (up to 3% extra damage) and Redoubled Offense is the best, giving an additional hit of up to 2x your damage. You should also max your Stardust's offensive skills.
Another thing, if you spam fireballs, is that bolt and intermediate magic gain a portion of damage from any *additional* max attack you gain. Your weapon and base damage don't directly matter, but any max damage gained from enchants and BFO will boost the damage. Boosting your max damage with Fateweaver or Physical Power potions also boosts what you get from BFO. After that, there's using glyphs to boost skills and combo cards, which give a damage multiplier to the skills as they're used in the order prescribed. In theory you can get up to 80% multiplier on the last hit. Take advantage of those ego extra damage conditions too.

Someone made a video about debuffing mabinogi so hopefully this helps. Debuffing is pretty OP n late game bosses. To be honest though, its a bit too much for me. If I do group content, I'm gonna need roles because I just don't have the reflex or memory to remember all this shit.

I realize now, I forgot to mention totems and homestead figures. Those can give you stats as well. Alban totems can give you +25 max/magic attack and 5% crit damage, there are other totems that can give like 30 extra of either damage when you have them all, and you can get some number of stats and damage and crit damage(about 7 or8 %) from homestead figures, sequel figures, certain props, and pet houses.
pierce is also very important and unfortunately most of the big gains come from p2w enchants, demo-ruin weapons, or really hard to get acc accessories and robe.

I don't think there's a good "returning player" guide, because every returning player's point of reference is going to differ. My recommendations are to do Blaanid's questline and then join the guild in the OP for everything else you may want to ask.

Sounds like you used to own a rented house in the housing channel. Go to one of the housing areas (the easiest one to get to is the one in Dugald Aisle I think) and talk to the NPC near the center about retrieving your items.

So obviously 5m isn't a lot with regards to swapping spirit weapons, but are there specific spirit weapons I should avoid?
Some of them seem like no-brainers, like the Staff, Shuriken, and 2h Sword trees, while others just seem like a big damage boost without enabling any particular playstyle.
the only bad spirit weapon is chain (and even then, it isn't detrimental. there are just better things to use your limited slots are)
everything else is up to preference. if you want to metagay your spirits should be 2h sword(or bow if elf)/staff/knuckle/cylinder/shuriken.

I wish the game would let us archive the books we collect. Like you take a book you found, bought, fished up, or gotten from a quest and turn it into the library in dunbarton and can read it from there. Instead of carrying books around. Books now just take up too much space, even with the book pouch and frick those 2x2 books from the gen quests.
Doesn't cover everything but I've watched them and it does a better job than the story itself does.

I found a good place, hitting mobs in Mag Mel that can only take damage from pets seems to be good for proficiency training. Not sure if it still eats up my pet's timer though.
