>Main Character is not strong, smart, agile, charismatic, or important in any way shape or form. But they still go out and try to save the day.
Why won't more games take this approach? I'm tired of always playing as the most important person in the setting.
ugh y arent i a BASIC Guy who does BORING SHIT!!!
Only basic people want to self-insert into flawless mary sues
>I play RPGs, male, full helmet, typical fodder knight.
>Everyone else.
>Female character, maid dress, school uniform, ass exposed, or anime dragon man with demon or angel wings.
y tho.
yeah
>Throws a giant hand like its nothing
>Gigachad is mega autistic and will die a virgin without realizing or caring all that pussy that throws itself at him
Vidya for this feel?
>why doesn't Mario exist?
Ignore OP's rambling and post Karla
>Nameless Rank and File Soldier
>Defeat great adversaries by cheesing every fight and out-witting them.
Games where I can do this?
dark souls
But you are a chosen one in each one of those which doesn't count.
no, you being a chosen undead is a lie, youre just yet another undead
if you were just another undead then you would have either end up dead or insane but the gods chose to fool around with you instead of everyone else. In a way you're chosen and become super saiyan at the end.
so to be a nameless rank and file you have to not accomplish anything? sounds like a boring game
The "Chosen Undead" was a israeli lie spread to get gullible humans to link the fire.
Even when (You) perform a great feat (in the past), you are forgotten, and your victory is attributed to a more famous hero.
The only innate power you have is the ability to come back to life and try again when you frick up.
Call of duty
EDF
Literally any squad-based RPG, you can just toss in a bunch of martial hicks and stock up on consumables to try and replace the casters. Pretty nice way to spice up a second playthrough.
You mean Super Mario?
Mario is quite strong and agile, though.
Because you totally have played so many games to be tired of that, right?
>make the hero the opposite of a good person!
>ugly people good and beautiful people bad!
I think OP is saying that he wants more protagonists that aren't Mary Sue tier or chosen/special one tier in ability or personality. Someone like Luigi in all the Luigi's Mansion games acts like a coward more or less the entire time, and constantly acts like a dork, but still gets the job done.
>Why won't more games take this approach
Souls franchise
>but
git gud next question
Only if you do a Soul Level/Rune Level 1 playthrough
icewind dale, solasta tonns of NWN modules
a hero has to be exceptional in some way or else he wouldn't be able to get the job done. Even if such a character was on a team the more capable others would get more credit. It doesn't even have to be just physical attributes, but ambition, hard work, charisma, or something that lets them overcome odds and giant obstacles.
You'll get credit, doesn't mean you should've succeeded. Save scumming is basically the perfect setup for the typical "bumbles into success and ends up way out of his depth" hero type.
