Soft sequels to these games are often set in completely different time periods with new MC pilots and characters.
Although this may be the first AC game that sees an entirely different kind of story expansion, in which we get entirely new routes within the existing story. This is the first AC since Last Raven to be this story-focused, but Last Raven was the last game of the PS2 era and basically the send off to that period. People have been really hankering for a Balam/Red Guns route, and there's a lot of potential for that. AC6's entire story is pretty much Balam constantly losing and on the backfoot, and you have a really strong introduction to the Red Guns and they always kinda treat you like one of their own.

If they make DLC for AC6, I'm guessing they'd turn it into a prequel or something that takes places concurrent to the main plot, where you play as the OG Raven and deal with Branch stuff. He's unvoiced, plus AC4 and ACFA already did a similar thing with the protagonist of the previous game being a pilot in the next game. Plot wise we also don't know anything about him other than that he leaked the info about Coral to the corps.
A sequel will have to either have its title start with "Vi" or have some pun that works following the word "six" Like Armored Core 2: Another Age since they established the theming loosely at 2 and solidly with For Answer and Verdict Day.

The game and the community deserve all the hostility they get. Once again, if you ask for tips for ac6, and after everything got nerfed to the ground, you're asking to get facefricked.
What tactical discussions can you get about a stupidproof game where the only thing mattering are again, stagger and your build? What's the skill expression in a game with hardlock and where the distance from which you attack your opponent decides if you'll do damages or produce a ricochet?
You take stagger weapons and glue yourself to your target. That encompasses the entirety of the strategy and finesse of staggered core 6. Oh and when you hear the "BEEP BEEP" you press the dark sole dodge button.

the solo is even more laughable, like I said you shove your gun in the ass of the enemies and press the trigger. It's the most basic b***h armored core ever made. A game so insulting you could make a phone adaptation of it and IT WOILD WORK. YOU COULD 100% PLAY IT ON PHONE.

Yeah they were nerfed. If you make your core more efficient and guns more powerful it'll have an impact on the difficulty of the fight.
If you make bosses less resistant to some damages and make them more sensitive to stagger it'll have an impact on the difficulty of the fight.
It'll impact the bosses with as much efficiency as lead would have on someone's brain, to the point of making him enjoy a stale casual game such as AC6.
In single player, figuring out which cheat build works against a boss for you. Like, Ibis and Snail were a hell for me on a normal build, but they die quickly to double gatlings. Stuff like that. The game itself cheats, so you got to cheat back.
Haven't played since October, but I do remember some huge fricking boss fight with some giant strider/train enemy where it was a game of ducking and weaving from some sort of laser/plasma cannon system. I know its early on in the game, but a combination of work and other games relegated it to a backlog status. I last tried using some sort of double shotgun build but then couldn't get a hang of the stamina/dodge system to get close and utilize it well.
i did that boss with a lightweight and the two burst rifles
keep a melee weapon to punch it when it gets staggered, and focus on being in the air (get a good energy recharge capacitor)
just remember you have no iframe unlikes souls, and always stay in the air
"getting gud" in AC means not being a moron and swapping out parts to find what works best
this isn't souls, you invest NOTHING (parts you buy can be sold back for 100% cost) so you commit to nothing
Mostly just learn how to passively jink most damage and build ACs that aren't completely garbage. There are no iframes, you need to move in a way that minimizes damage.
Look up some tutorial on generator stats. Supply efficiency and generator output adjust are hugely important.
if you want to beat single player get a melee that does lots of damage, a shotgun and grenade launchers
use the force field expansion if you get scared
https://streamable.com/iaaabx >be AC "competitive" scene >make fat AC >add shield for max fatness >perfect parry morons on everything to make sure your AP loss is minimal and you only get staggered if you are moronic >blast their faces with meme weapons that make them lose control of their AC >mentally destroy them over and over >repeat a second time >reach S-rank top 100 PC without ever losing
I love AC6, but making ranked pvp was such a mistake.
Snail's VA was top tier
also Walther's and Michigan ones as well
I never realized Michigan's VA was the same guy who did Wesker in RE5 before reading it on YT comment randomly.
Hoping they get creative with the expansion parts. I want weapon arms back. I have a hunch they didn't do weapon arms again because they're really hard to balance between ammo to firepower, but maybe they could do a half compromise where weapon arms only weaponize one arm? So your e.g. left arm would be a cannon to prevent it being combined with melee weapons, and then you equip your favorite firearm in the right.
I don't want to see dlc or AC6.5
They have to try again and make a real AC game, not this fighting game Gundam knock off shit. These homies have no balls if they double down on hard lock and cooldowns
ac6 didnt outsell the rest of the series because its good, it outsold them because the fromsoft brand got 20 million more fans since the last AC game came out
It was shit to begin with nothing like old armored core hope the series stays dead now
AC6 isnt salvageable
the mechanical decisions made in the foundation of the game cant be fixed without overhauling the entire game

The fact is being stated that a game that sold 60% of the franchise's total sales, and scored higher than any other game in the franchise, is not in a million years going to be remade so it's like the old games. Literally only a moron incapable of reading the room would do this.
>traded a FRICKING FLEET OF WARSHIPS >for the ability to go fight the ice worm
A Balam route was never in the cards. They're clearly completely moronic.
Why does Rusty leave to engage the Arquebus fleet in Destroy the Drive Block?
The fleet is there to take down the Xylem and you're also there to take down the Xylem, so why move to intercept them?
>Ayre looks Raven up and finds out he worked for Branch, but nothing else is told about the organization other than it's a bunch of mercs with changing membership (Raven's Nest expy) >PCA claims he leaked info about Coral to Arquebus and Balam >During the fight Raven's handler wanks about freedom freedom symbol freedom choice freedom show you're worthy of the name freedom birds go caw caw

>the entire plot and his motivation is never stated. >freedom freedom symbol freedom choice freedom show you're worthy of the name freedom birds go caw caw
Yes, that's it. Don't overthink it.
FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
What reference? The older games were never about freedom. Come back to me when there's an AC game where you free yourself from an oppressive tyrant, or kill a terrorist so the government gives you autonomy.
I keep trying to change things up but I always end up using a pulse blade with a galling gun and 2 plasma launchers. It just works even if it seems boring to me. Each time I try a cool shoulder weapon I die quick and never really make progress.
I just killed ice worm. Before I got the galling gun I only used assault rifle. Energy weapons seems bad.
>Energy weapons seems bad.
Energy weapons are good with an asterisk.
You need to have a generator with a good energy firearm spec, but if you do they're capable of dealing lots of damage without requiring stagger, like kinetics tend to, with the caveat that they're generally really bad at inflicting stagger, unlike kinetics.
You also don't want to use energy weapons against c-weapons because they're EXTREMELY resistant to them, which isn't a problem any other damage type has.
I really liked the one pointy-shaped energy shotgun with a melee focused build. Charge shot turns it into a short-range lance that you can fire at the end of a melee combo. Didn't use heavy shoulder weapons much, but unless you're rolling a tank or quad build that can use them without self-stagger, they felt better off being used as finishers.
>Energy weapons seems bad.
Some of them got nerfed over the course of the 6 patches. Particularly VE66-LRA, it got buffed in dmg a bit but got nerfed over 6 patches. Made the LRB worth its weight instead of the LRA, especially if you could manage its regular cooling.
they are bad. the hoops you have to jump through to make them usable arent worth it in this game and the nerfs theyve gotten dont make the pigeonholing any better. just stick to kinetic and coral weapons
What I hated about the game is that whether a weapon is good or not half the time depends on whether the AI was programmed to dodge it. If it is programmed to dodge something with 100% accuracy (vertical missiles for example), the weapon is going to be bad no matter what are the stats.
Now I don't remember about that partucular one, but several laser and plasma weapons are good. There's a decent plasma rifle you find early, even before Balteus. Also, plasma missles are nice, in both cases because they hit pretty hard and AOE makes the AI dodge it less often. Laser shotgun is good, especially if you manage to hit with a charged shot. Laser pistols are good during mission to clean up eeaker enemies.
>"AC6 is bullshit, enemies keep staggering me, this combat sucks!" >You can hold up a shield to shut down opponents stagger breaking you >"That doesn't count I hate this game!"
Why is it like this?
This and Project Wingman are my two favorite takes on military topics, I can't think of many other games that would do a better job at making you feel the strength, or maybe feel the combat with your very soul. High quality bullet hell is simply to die for, watching something like balteus rocket barrage unfold in front of you, or noticing 40+ rocket blips in radar in final PW fight, and then realizing you're very much in control hits the spot more than anything else in vidya. Especially when combined with music that would feel cheap-epic and needlessly grand in every other context possible, but for this particular purpose it always sits just right.
If (You) feel my feel, any recommendations for vidya that would feel similar in that regard?
>AC6
Didn't try this one, played 04, zero, 7, but 6 had somehow escaped me. Will give it a shot, thanks, i remember some minor story bits from internet posts and it seemed interesting.
Though as much as I love Ace Combat games, they don't exactly deliver similar feeling of grandness from my experience. ACs I've played were more about a chivalry-themed glorious duel, maybe except for Torres in AC7, meanwhile armored core 6 and PW both do a very good job at making you fully realize that you're in a middle of a dirty knife fight to death and the only thing that stops your monstrously OP enemy is that you're also pretty much a monster. But playing yet another AC sounds great anyway, so i'm sure it's not going to be time wasted regardless of how exactly it delivers the feels.
I got to intercept the redguns. This mission fricking sucks. Whoever designed it should die. 2 million adds and a boss. Super.
I run out of ammo before the Black person even gets to half. >fifth wave.

>lying straight with his staggered core 6 troony friends about the game not being heavily rebalanced in favor of casuals despite guns having more ammo or hitting harder or hitting farther
>despite the entire energy weapon class being buffed
>lies about the resistance uodate of some bosses
>not a single rebuttal about any of my points regarding the game system, aka the most important part of my post
This frickimg shit game is dead and despite the IP counter being gone I know how it's being bumped by the same gays since it's taking half a day to die, it's the same b***hes preventing it from falling to page 10 everytime it's about to go down. Nobody gives a shit about it. Just look at the dead multiplayer.
>NOOOOO, IT'S JUST A SECONDARY GAME MODE THE SOLO IS WHAT MATTERS
the solo is even more laughable, like I said you shove your gun in the ass of the enemies and press the trigger. It's the most basic b***h armored core ever made. A game so insulting you could make a phone adaptation of it and IT WOILD WORK. YOU COULD 100% PLAY IT ON PHONE.
i was specifically talking about the boss '''nerf''' you schizoid troony.
>AC6
>casual game
>filtered 80% of casuals
uh-uh
he's the MW gay, he's doing it for free to keep the threads bumped
pay him no mind and thank him for being such a kind soul
In single player, figuring out which cheat build works against a boss for you. Like, Ibis and Snail were a hell for me on a normal build, but they die quickly to double gatlings. Stuff like that. The game itself cheats, so you got to cheat back.
What about gettin gud with melee focused builds?
>melee focused
>gettin gud
when trash like basho arms and staggers exist there is no gettin gud with melee its cheesy as frick
what chapter are you in? heavyweight tankthread build is pretty forgiving thanks to the larhe hitpoints and no recoil from explosives
Game became trash as soon as they nerfed him. I haven't felt tempted to replay since. I've been playing Onion Ring instead.
Isn't mech warrior that dead franchise where you're really slow
yes
AC: NOT STEEL HAZE
Callsign: NOT RUSTY
Brainwife...

>be AC "competitive" scene
>make fat AC
>add shield for max fatness
>perfect parry morons on everything to make sure your AP loss is minimal and you only get staggered if you are moronic
>blast their faces with meme weapons that make them lose control of their AC
>mentally destroy them over and over
>repeat a second time
>reach S-rank top 100 PC without ever losing
I love AC6, but making ranked pvp was such a mistake.
>can't make it to S rank pvp
>The Xylem is doomed? Good.
>dub
Snail and Swinburne are very similar when you think about it. I read a theory that they themselves have been "re-educated".
Snail's VA was top tier
also Walther's and Michigan ones as well
I never realized Michigan's VA was the same guy who did Wesker in RE5 before reading it on YT comment randomly.
Nero from DMC5 voiced the trainee pilot and Wu Huahei or whatever his name was.
Walter is Scorpion from MK11 and Ragna the Bloodedge from BlazBlue.
Rusty's VA did a lot of Gundam dubs which is ironic considering he's basically a Gundam MC in a story where the Gundam MC doesn't get plot armor.
>Nero from DMC5 voiced the trainee pilot and Wu Huahei or whatever his name was.
frick i haven't even noticed in the slightest.
He was also Swinburne
that one i could kind of hear Nero in there
Give me the dlc route where I can join based Snail. I want to be V.IX
Snail hates you entirely on principle and there's also already an Arquebus route in-game and he betrays you on it.
Post a song and the mission you play it over.
I am still real upset that they nerfed this boss so much.
>nerfed this boss
thats a myth that has been debunked
It was directly described in the patch notes. And very noticeable when fighting the boss.
I don't want to see dlc or AC6.5
They have to try again and make a real AC game, not this fighting game Gundam knock off shit. These homies have no balls if they double down on hard lock and cooldowns
>Literally outsold 60% of the franchise combined
>NOOOOO REDO IT
lmao not happening
cope
this
ac6 didnt outsell the rest of the series because its good, it outsold them because the fromsoft brand got 20 million more fans since the last AC game came out
AC6 is better than most of previous ACs sorry xis
you know, if you don't like AC6 you can always go play the AC3 director's new game
oh wait, it's a pile of shit.
>that art style in the game's image
literally stolen from MGS and AC's guy that did those iconic concept arts.
Anon, the artwork is by Yoji Shinkawa, the same guy who did the art for MGS. This was his first and only job between leaving Konami and re-joining with Kojima.
damn
I guess that's what happens when you get TOO iconic. His style is fricking great, but it's the style of MGS, and you don't just plop that any other game.
I think both of you forgot Z.o.E. somewhere along the way.
No? It just wasn't relevant to the discussion or my point
>This was his first and only job between leaving Konami and re-joining with Kojima.
ZOE was when he was at Konami, it doesn't contradict what I said.
WHERE IS MY ZOE3!?
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I want the OG planned ZOE3 with the ancient civilization and metatron being some eldritch shit.
The guy behind AC3 is responsible for this? Aw man, what a pity. That's one of my favorite installments, right behind AC2.
sales = quailty
i guess skyrim is the better game than morrowind.
Nobody is arguing that, you tard.
The fact is being stated that a game that sold 60% of the franchise's total sales, and scored higher than any other game in the franchise, is not in a million years going to be remade so it's like the old games. Literally only a moron incapable of reading the room would do this.
G13 WHERE THE FRICK IS MY ROUTE!???
never
>traded a FRICKING FLEET OF WARSHIPS
>for the ability to go fight the ice worm
A Balam route was never in the cards. They're clearly completely moronic.
The Balam route would be Walter telling Michigan he's being moronic and doing the opposite
hey don't be rude they're clearly just doing the WAKU WAKU Goku meta.
The gamblers' genius looks like moronation to the simpleton's eyes.
Why does Rusty leave to engage the Arquebus fleet in Destroy the Drive Block?
The fleet is there to take down the Xylem and you're also there to take down the Xylem, so why move to intercept them?
because he's against arquebus
The DLC will be about NIGHTFALL. He causes the entire plot and his motivation is never stated.
They state it multiple times, you just didn't pay attention.
Even if a DLC all about Ravens would be cool, because they are peak chuunikino.
>Ayre looks Raven up and finds out he worked for Branch, but nothing else is told about the organization other than it's a bunch of mercs with changing membership (Raven's Nest expy)
>PCA claims he leaked info about Coral to Arquebus and Balam
>During the fight Raven's handler wanks about freedom freedom symbol freedom choice freedom show you're worthy of the name freedom birds go caw caw
Was there other bits of info somewhere else?
>the entire plot and his motivation is never stated.
>freedom freedom symbol freedom choice freedom show you're worthy of the name freedom birds go caw caw
Yes, that's it. Don't overthink it.
FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
He's a cute reference to the older gen games
What reference? The older games were never about freedom. Come back to me when there's an AC game where you free yourself from an oppressive tyrant, or kill a terrorist so the government gives you autonomy.
You can't? Guess that's that.
Tell me you haven’t played the games without saying you haven’t played them.
what game?
>"AC6 is bullshit, enemies keep staggering me, this combat sucks!"
>You can hold up a shield to shut down opponents stagger breaking you
>"That doesn't count I hate this game!"
Why is it like this?
I AM ARQU-ACK!
ARQUACK
Chad pistol user. I love pistols, but I'd run out of ammo too soon. Heard that the patch increased the ammo.
Yeah there was a patch a while back that increased the ammo, you don't really risk running out now
This and Project Wingman are my two favorite takes on military topics, I can't think of many other games that would do a better job at making you feel the strength, or maybe feel the combat with your very soul.
If (You) feel my feel, any recommendations for vidya that would feel similar in that regard?
i hate bullet hells but love ac
balteus missiles were nerfed and you can dodge them just by strafing left now
you could do that on release day too
I'm pretty sure I needed to quick boost once or twice just before they'd connect, but I didn't have the lightest mech.
play Ace Combat 6's Ace of Aces mode
play Warship Gunner 1 and 2 if you like boats
AC: Heavy Weapon
Pilot: Bullet
>mash button to zippity
>fill epic stagger meter
what went so wrong with ac?
>endless bnnuyhopping
>qb spam
idk anon it has one extra layer to its combat so its probably better than the old games
why is your fcs so wide
I use sideways FCS mostly.
Take me back...
Soul. Too bad AC4 ruined this beyond repair and will never come back.
I thought the story sucked. Music was good. Cool designs. Shit story though.
Any good mecha games on steam where I can spend 2 hours autistically building a robot?
I got to intercept the redguns. This mission fricking sucks. Whoever designed it should die. 2 million adds and a boss. Super.
I run out of ammo before the Black person even gets to half.
>fifth wave.
Wow fun. I'm actually mad.
Just bring a weapon with a lot of ammo or use kicks.
