its no longer a niche hidden gem so he can't feel superior for knowing about and now feels ostracized from discussion(they don't even remember goblin ass). Oh and being a sc**t now gets you c4'd way more often.
>>they're moronic and make the game less fun
stingtail is based
There’s too many Reddit/Marvel-tier quips now. Too many toxically positive rituals that were pressured into joining. The game became too popular and flanderized.
the new voicelines are often genuinely fricking awful in that regard, you are right
yeah, i agree. it actually makes the drill dozer somewhat harder. the fly boots kind of make every other kind of transporation irrelevant though if you find it in a cave, which i've only encountered ONE and it was on the release of the update.
they fixed a lot of them, its strong on a lot of things
Best example is m1k. theres almost no reason to pick anything else in the mod tier with almost every m1k build. Not only its insane for excellent breakpoints and armor-shredding against many key enemies, it also lets you two-shot grunts to the body even without damage mod, and works with blowthrough
>rather than fix how awful armor break is, just add a second shell back to the enemy pool
Most enemies in the game have bare weakpoints to reward good aim, and players with good aim will prioritize them. Armor break is for when aim is optional, just want to shoot bugs all at once.
Stingtail is a priority target but is so coated in armor that there's little reason to aim anywhere special, just unload until it starts taking damage.
I'm just telling you what the devs literally said in their livestream, they don't want to change armorbreak because they like the balancing it has with the older bugs, they just want to add more mobs with armor to make it a more lucrative debuff

Oh yeah theres also the fact that armor break literally doesn't work the way its written and they say its intentional that armor break is only 25% as effective as it claims to be most of the time.
The fact that armor break doesn't do a good job if breaking armor is why people don't use it, and the only cases where people do use it is for hitting a high enough breakpoint to completely ignore the armor, and even still players will focus on the weakpoint.
Also some armor it just does nothing on, can't even have that niche.

The issue with armor break is that you watched too many videos trying to tell you in a single player sandbox setting it gives you less DPS
Most players unironically can't hit weakpoints, armorbreak is a stat for these kinds of players
"Armor break" was given baseline to shotguns exactly because of this, players with worse aim tended to use the shotguns, however, they still kept some of the old armor break mods in there from before the update to shotgun pellet chance
If anything, the redundancy in shotguns is only because there are damage+ mods in the same tier, the plus to armor break is still strictly an increase to armor break health

I get my opinions from playing the damn game not from some youtuber. aside from the bugs that cover their weakpoints with heavy armor (shellback, stingtail, brundle, the twins, guards when they feel like it) i will always try to point my gun at weakpoints because it kills bugs faster.
Armor break is just outcompeted by other stronger effects like bonus damage, blowthrough, or stun. And the only way I can see it having a distinct advantage is to just lean more heavily into it >armor break weapons just straight up ignore light armor's damage reduction, instead of requiring the armor to break by chance >batch the armor break chance for pellet based weapons instead of calculating it per pellet >aoe armor break properly affects all plates in their radius instead of just the one it makes direct contact with >affect all types of armor that has a healthbar instead of selectively excluding any
Yes technically armor break is better than taking nothing, but it better damn well be worth taking for cases where the dedicated "i hope your brought armor break :*~~))" enemies are randomly added to the spawn pool. The only guaranteed enemies we have in every mission are grunts + variants, praetorians, and oppressors. If your mod doesn't help in any way against any of them, you are gambling on whether itd be worth more than nothing.

armor break is not used because it's shit and either doesn't work at all or does nothing
literally only one weapon in the game has armor break perk that's relevant
>Sting tail actually is a ironwill shitter check >ooze shooter now makes defendable positions less defendable >the rockpox enemies are absoluetely insane and if underestimated will swarm and rockpox your ass to death.
Iam sorry you cant handle it scrubby these are all good additions that made the game less predicatble and evened out some of the best tools the dwarves have, the only real horseshit is that we were missing some new weapons.
The stingtail can sometimes be really cancerous but overall it's not too bad, the spreader isn't anything special but it's damage is a bit too high. They're alright, I wouldn't say they ruin the game. The flappy bird shit though is stupid as frick, no idea what they were thinking with that. Flappy bird was a thing like 10 years ago, it's not relevant, it's not fun, it's overdone and I don't really like playing flappy bird inside a mission, the other hacking minagames are much faster to do, I don't mind it that much on the space rig.
>The stingtail can sometimes be really cancerous
How, its basically irrelevant, it announces itself and has a huge wind up time on its hook that makes it trivial to dodge, if you were already never getting hit from anything in haz5 then you're never going to get hit by it. The new spreader thing is way more lethal.
I'm fine with the way the stingtail generally looks, but I think it should have an animation where it is readying its tail that draws attention to it so if youre paying attention you can easily tell what you need to start dodging, kinda like how cave leeches have animations when they have a target but before they actually try grabbing.
The audio cue is too quiet compared to other bugs and the piercing and distinct high pitch portion of it is at the end of the cue, which is why people have such a hard time hearing it and reacting in time.
Unless scout is doing his job correctly, you will not see where the stingtail is unless all other bugs are dead or youre getting pulled, simply because it blends in and isn't drawing attention to itself.
A damn warden is less dangerous but it gets to be a light source and both of its important SFX are easy to identify immediately.
>The audio cue is too quiet compared to other bugs
an outright lie. it even stands out a lot because it's a out-of-place, weird clown noise

>try to refute my point by immediately proving my point
The stingtail has a roar sound before it chirps. I wasn't saying the chirps are too quiet, they are high pitched enough that they will grab your attention simply because its distinct and piercing. But the fricking roar doesn't have the same kind of attention grabbing appeal.
A mactera grabber screech is unmistakable, the low gravelly roar of a detonator is impossible to confuse with anything else, the sound of a spitballer waking up is distinct, and the high pitch sound of a warden connecting with allies can be distinguished across the cave,, the stingtail roar simply doesn't grab your attention in the same way.
>The audio cue is too quiet compared to other bugs
It's like the loudest thing in the game, same volume level as when Oppressors first got their sounds changed.
Sting is great. Thought spreader would be lame but they gave him fricking skynet AI or something, I've watched this Black person run and bombard you from behind terrain.

Frick these redditors.
What killed this game is the goddamn timegated matrix core system. It just gets so boring to play week after week and not get the overclocks you actually want.
Here's a tip. You can use cheat engine to give you as many matrixes and resources you want. Can even level yourself up to max promotion in an instant. Now you know why max rank randoms who join your haz 4 lobby dies constantly and plays worse than a greenbeard.
I'd be happy with even a weekly quest that guaranteed a helmet and crate, like how the core hunt works. There's so many things in those pools that it takes forever with my luck to find any.
1) the game is more popular than ever
2) since like two updates ago, you get a full set of blank + overclock + cosmetic matrix core every time you promote a class, grindy but not time gated anymore, I'd say a good balance since getting all overclocks is supposed to be a long term thing
>It just gets so boring to play week after week and not get the overclocks you actually want
Spoken like a true metashitter. You aren't supposed to know what the overclocks are before you get them. Every weapon is 100% viable without overclocks, they are meant to spice things up for you as you continue to play the game.
Normal people just ignore things they don't like and focus on things they do like. If you're going out of your way to b***h and moan about a video game you don't enjoy, you are a miserable person. What are you hoping to accomplish? Do you want people who enjoy it to feel bad about it? Are you hoping to create a circlejerk of misery?
in practice it doesnt work, theyre still flinging people from ceilings
if you ask me, scorpion should have been made much stronger and faster, and turned into a less common enemy
Literally all they needed to do was make it properly grab people after a short delay. Something like it latching onto you as it currently does, but instead of yanking you a little, it roots itself for two seconds or so, roars and then pulls you directly onto its horn at Mach speed, stunning you until either of you dies. You could prevent it by doing enough damage or finding an obstacle to hide behind. No more funny physics moments and it would be a nice team building experience or at least a way to make armor break mods not shit, since you wouldn't really able to break its face shield alone with a regular weapon before getting yeeted.
If they made it take too long to actually draw you closer, itd simply become a slow indicator that its time to shoot a specific enemy rather than the immediate danger of flinging you into a mob
It being a singular instance of yanking prevents it from fricking up other movement that could happen during it like activating dash, riding a pipe, or grapple hook away.
I think the thing could use more polish too but I can understand why it just fricking bounces you like a yoyo.
>>game gets no content for a year
thats every time with the new season system >suddenly it starts getting plenty more
the new content in seasons beyond 1, though mostly welcome, feel extremely low quality in comparison, often with a loss of charm in some departments too.
the season system has worsened the game greatly by making them half-ass the content instead of focusing on it individually, i assume it was Devolver who made them do it for bigger profits despite it being a detriment to the game. (Season system happened shortly after devolver aqquisition and their general loss of profits)
so far its still nice because the game's core foundation is awesome, but :
i dont ever expect them to make content as high quality as the new biome additions, or the new dreads despite their annoying ivulnerability phase spam
i dont expect them to make content that actually adds things to the endgame. Overclocks and machine events were awesome and really close together. The game has never added anything to the endgame ever since, and its been three years.
You're comparing the release of content from before the game was considered complete to content released afterwards. The whole point was that they finished making such huge new changes so they could focus on littler things in the seasons. This has always been the plan, but people here don't care to actually pay attention to what the devs say and don't know the game's history. >inb4 hi jacob
>You're comparing the release of content from before the game was considered complete to content released afterwards.
Azure Weald and Hollow Bough were actually after the game released beyond 1.0, so not really.
A lot of people felt the game still was a bit incomplete during the 1.0 release, and the game hasnt actually progressed much in some departments it lacks the most. It was also always meant to be a game that was actively developed and built upon anyway, evident by the seasons >The whole point was that they finished making such huge new changes so they could focus on littler things in the seasons
This argument makes no sense, because the seasons expand at arguably a bigger scale than the older content, its just that its often at lower quality and lower substance. This is often a result of trying to cram many things into one big update instead of doing stuff more individually, like they used to. Updates take months now, but GSG has always been slow, this is relatively poor for the content quality if you do the math, and it checks out in practice
Its not just content either, look at the terrible lack of quality control. Look at massive issues like the engine update in season 2 permanently worsening the controls, inputs and smoothness. Look at the continuously slightly degrading netcode. Look at bugs such as cave leech audio not being fixed even though its been a problem since almost an entire year. Look at massive cave generation bugs, like two biomes that were once absolutely spammed with the same structure (one of them had it twice), which was initially called intentional, and when "reverted", actually permanently impacted the generation anyway due to their bandaid method. Look at how nitra used to be spammed at ridiculous ammounts at beginning of s3, and it took days for the devs to admit it wasnt intentional and fix it. This kind of stuff absolutely never happened before the game left early access.

Forgot to mention >that entire text wall about quality control
Dont fricking believe me? Either because you didnt play the game back then, or because you just dont play enough to notice?
I dare you to go and downpatch the game to update 34, there are a few tutorials around on how to do that. Play an online game with your friends, preferably as non host. Notice how much better the internet connection and online-responsiveness will be. Try doing stuff like grenade cancels and plenty of nice animation cancels and you will quickly notice how much smoother the game is. Do things like pressing V and interrupting it or during interactions, problems that GSG tried to pass as intentional with a half assed excuse when in reality it was blatantly unintended / a lazy implementation of a new detail. Look at how much more stable and reliable your mods are with the old method instead of the shitty mod.io integration. Hell, some people, specially on lower end PCs, even claim massive performance improvements.
Im not saying update 34 was a "better" game, because ultimately DRG needs content. Season content is still welcome even if at lower quality, and it thrives off of the game's excellent foundation, even if its getting worsened. Im just saying that theres an undeniable, massive loss of quality control that keeps eating away at the game's general playability and optimization.
I feel this is some history that is important to spread around. Back then i unironically used to praise the DRG devs as high quality and flawless. Now that the game is mainstream as frick, normalgays are bandwagonning into the train of dickriding GSG, except they are unaware of how much worse they have gotten : GSG's new quality control is shit, theyre untransparent and stupid, they pass many genuine issues as intended, and the balancing is now a dartboard. They are no longer particulary good devs, theyre just the average mediocre one, riding off an extremely well crafted foundation
complete bullshit. they made the game full release and shift to seasonal content updates because of the embracer acquisiton.
they wouldnt have called the game "done" if it wasnt for their owners telling them its done.

I literally never look at those screens and I couldn't care less about troonycord shit, if you willingly go into any discord server you should have a nice day
Anybody who picks up a drill is OK by me
I use Ganker, I don't get to complain about other fat degenerates on the internet without throwing stones in glass houses
But he's right about weapons. There's already tons of overlap in functionality. Gunner primaries are a great example of this, where first you have the single target gun, then the aoe gun, then a gun that isn't as good at either.
they are greedy, but most of all, they're already out of creativity/initiative, there are a lot of things they could rework, such as perks, OCs, Deep Dives. Sadly, the amount of players is reflecting the state of the game, considerable lower numbers compared to 3-4 months back.
>considerable lower numbers compared to 3-4 months back.
i dont think the devs are doing a good job, but drg is more popular than ever
The issue is that season 4 is just "season 3 2". Just like season 2 is "season 1 2". They will probably breach peak player numbers in season 5 once again
how do I graduate from haz 4 to haz 5 i am scared
realise that you can outrun grunts at any difficulty, even just WASD + space is overpowered
you can get an op build that deletes a lot of things with low effort
>comparatively small team >most of the base game was built by a team of 6 >GSG now employs 32 >they aren't even the devs of the spin off game
What exactly do those 32 people do for the 7 months between updates?
They do nothing, simple as.
32 people team should do well enough, but DRG devs are embarassingly lazy. Last Season update could barely pass as a simple content patch.
>- A full balance pass in regards to how it plays alongside every other weapon. And that's a task that continues for months after release
These Black folk don't test half the features they release, how do they expect me to believe they put that much effort into balancing?
... Not like their idea of balance is worth anything since they only play Haz 4.
Oh, speaking of shit quality control
Now interacting with stuff that is gradually completed, like uplinks, building pipes, mules, now reset themselves when you let go off the E key.
Either GSG is full of brainless frickups who never test anything or they're dealing with the most elaborate spaghetti code known to man (and never test anything).
They can't fix one thing without breaking another completely unrelated mechanic, and they still haven't fixed half the shit they broke when the S2 and S3 patches were rolled out.
It is indeed spaghetti code af, they didn't know the game would become this big and initially planned for it to be a small project to earn some money and then work on something else once they are done with this one but it turned out to be a great game. As to bugs (code-wise), there are extremely few of them for a game like this, compare it to literally any AAA title in the past decade, it's unreal how well maintained DRG is. The new content also isn't any lower quality than the past one, every new enemy is really well polished, every new mechanic well-designed and working as intended, my only complaints are that there could be a bit more gameplay content added and the floppy bird game is a bit shitty but chances are they are working on something bigger for future updates, who knows. As someone with around 1300 hours, I really appreciate all the details they're working on. All the small fixes and weapon changes this season were fun, and some time ago they managed to make movement properly client-side which finally made jumping on client-side feel very responsive, which I bet most games wouldn't give a shit about because it'd be good enough and it definitely required changing a good bit of client-server synchronization to make it work properly. You can play this game for dozens of hours and you'll come across like 5 small bugs and usually none of them will be game breaking, they're doing good job
only cool things since the introduction of "seasons" were new weapons. Rest is whatever
feels like seasons have less and less content, balancing is still shit, new stuff is meh or bad (robots, hacking minigames...)
I played this game a lot but I see no reason to come back.
just do it, it's not that hard
it's all about trying your best to avoid taking unnecessary damage
don't put yourself in bad situations, keep an eye on enemies and escape routes
it's the same thing except more stressful as you don't have as much time to relax between swarms, kinda like lategame point extraction on lower hazards
play gunner with the overclock that doesnt let you move while shooting the minigun. This was one of the best ways to teach me how to kite in haz 5. Also super fun to jump around then plant your feet and unload at the horde chasing you.
>rock pox but the enemies are red sometimes >this is good enough for an entire new "season" >new "season" has no new weapons or weapon cores
it's so over.
I'd say the streamlining of their procedural generation killed the game for me. it seems with every update the caves become more and more similar. I remember there used to be way more variety
No him but I haven't done an EDD in over a year
There's no point when it gives less exp, minerals and no skins.
I have all overclocks since a couple months after they were introduced
I also have all the weapon overclocks, and I still do the Elite Deep Dives.
DD and EDD have the best cave generation, they have their own separate logic from regular missions
What's some ideas you had for weapon additions anons? I had some for Driller >Arc Welder-style full-auto lightning gun >short-range Scrap Gun secondary w/mod or overclock that lets you literally convert basic materials mulched by your drills into ammo >glue grenade, does no damage but immense slowdown and synergizes with all debuffs (catches fire, faster ice freezing, conductive, etc.)
digging grenade that instantly creates a short tunnel. for driller
net grenade that casts a wide net that instantly captures any enemies, including flying ones, and groups them together in one large pile you can shoot. for scout.
grenade that's a swarm of nanites that will fly around like shredders, except not deal damage to enemies, instead helping you build anything you're building by boosting the speed by 2,5x. you can hold 16. for engineer.
a grenade that creates continuous thumps into the terrain, scaring away any bugs from entering its circle, kinda like a shield without the actual shield. lasts for 10 seconds and you can hold 5. for gunner.
Hearing about the new update being mediocre as a Silver sc**t who uninstalled DRG 2 months ago makes me feel validated tbh. DRG's a damn good game, but it's core gameplay loop will always get boring eventually because all you do is fight AI. Now, if DRG added a PvP update to spice things up?
That would be fricking incredible, I'd reinstall so fast I'd be shitting myself

2 sentries are great for more defensive missions, but I usually go single for all of them because I focus on mobility a lot and want to be able to plop down my sentry quickly if I see swarmers, shredders, shockers or similar coming or just simply to help with swarm at any point, for me it's single sentry with max damage, armor break and quick deploy

I personally run two turrets, they get stuff done quicker and the extra ammo you get from choosing two kind of balances it out. My go to guns are Explosive chemical rounds Lok-1 and Turret EM discharge stubba.
I had some awesome ideas that i thought about in practice, check this out
>Gunner's coilgun
i actually had the idea for gunner's coilgun before it was added, functionality wise. I wanted a single-shot pistol with large piercing power and good sniping single target at burst. Sadly, the coilgun does not have good single target, but in terms of the actual gun concept, its a lot more interesting than i was thinking. I was just thinking of a single shot cannon with big accuracy and punch
>Taurus judge for the gunner
A shotgun-revolver. It exists irl and its kino in every game. Would be a perfect base for many fun overclocks too, such as dragon's breath rounds. >XM25 airburst for the engineer
It looks like a sniper-grenade launcher. It can both do generic grenade launcher business with somewhat less horde clear than the PGL, or it can snipe single targets (stuff like spitballers) with large single target damage. Support for fire spread and the likes, of course.
Now heres a cool thing about the XM25 : Most games dont implement its airburst feature, but the gun can calibrate a distance with a built-in laser. And it will set itself to detonate a bit beyond the distance. It means you can for example, have a horde of grunts on flat ground, calibrate the distance, and aim above them, compensating for it's reduced AOE size compared to the PGL. It is the exact same concept as potentially better numbers by running Proximity Trigger, except actually consistently applicable. Also killing some enemies, turrets etc through corners, hitting OMEN weakspots from behind.. Maybe even dreads/oppressors, but they have heavy explosive resistance so not really, maybe an overclock with shrapnel or whatever.
Dont want to put effort into using the gimmick during combat? you still have an aoe-sniping hybrid. >lok1 generic assault rifle overclock
Literally just turns lok1 into a generic assault rifle, for those who want one. Low effort, high effectiveness.
>Electricity should slow and spread the dmg.
So sticky flames and goo puddles?

disregarding upgrades:
Electric is instant direct damage + instant slow + instant DoT, no target propagation
Flame is instant damage + build up Heat to proc On Fire leading to AoE DoT, has target propagation
any overlap in functionality and utility after upgrades/OCs is purely because of incompetence from the devs.

For frick sake man the Driller doesn't need a third 'short range beam weapon that applies status effect', the DRAK was bad enough and that thing actually plays differently to the other shitty assault rifle
12 months ago
Anonymous
Then what new weapon would you propose? Close to mid range AoE is basically the only thing drillers primaries do with any consistency. Have a breakout single target boom stick that also doubles as terrain removal?

>Then what new weapon would you propose?
no idea, why?

also all I said was about a weapon to apply "Electrocution" status. I didn't mention "short-range" anywhere.
A rude person would have told you to "learn to read".
I think anon's point is that the gun has to play differently, not just act like the same thing but with a different colour and status effect, while maintaining the same role that the class is supposed to bring (ie. short-range crowd control and area denial for driller).
If we get a lightning gun it should not be a streaming style rapid fire weapon like crspr or cryo. Hell even the sludge pump used to before they decided that globs is better
Give me a lightning shotgun for short range burst, it'll be great.
That would be fricking incredible, I'd reinstall so fast I'd be shitting myself
not in my experience, t. engie main. the problem is the frickers will hide out of line of sight while still perfectly tracking you with their artillery bullshit. best way to handle them is to zip right up to them
>it's core gameplay loop will always get boring eventually because all you do is fight AI.
It's not about AI, they're mindless bugs, it's about surviving the clusterfricks, being fricked by the terrain, all while completing the objectives. I swear everyone that tries and drops the game needs to try playing a harder difficulty. The new enemies can be incredibly scary on top of everything else. You will be clenching your butt. If only then you can't git gud enough to enjoy the challenge, then it's not for you.
Side note, every map I've found jet boots on immediately turned into absolute hell with other bosses and things coinciding. Rockpox corruptor, tyrant weed, bet-c, and then a meteor shower. I literally don't think I've completed one such mission with boots. What the frick.
What is this game about and can I play it solo if I have no friends
See above. Play with randos. Playing solo is for masochists.
I'd argue playing with randos is for masochists.
You either get sweaty tryhards who won't shut up about your build or greenbeards who don't know how to play. Bosco is better than dealing with randos.
>You either get sweaty tryhards who won't shut up about your build
this only happens if you are absolute dogshit and go down every 20 seconds and I only seen it happen like twice in my 600ish hours in the game
I wish they paid devs to make new biomes, enemies, weapons, and ADD PHYSICS TO MOLLY AND OBJECTS LIKE TURRETS. I don't care about cosmetics at some point. My guy is clothed and it's fine like it is.
man the new barrage hurricane OC sucks dick >lets give you ultra low - ultra high rate of fire >but lets make the missiles move slow as frick with no guidance so they're fricking useless but at close range
gay
homosexual even
he doesnt actually have a skill issue in that regard, rocket barrage has awful accuracy so it cant do single target at mid range
its stats are still overall great though.
>awful accuracy
Compared to what, the coilgun? It's better than the minigun until full spinup, and autocannon always.
Feels like the plasma cannon from tribes except i'm not aiming at 200mph freaks, just slow ass crawling grannies
Its fricking great overall lol, way better than base gun despite the ammo efficiency loss. Nowhere as strong as minelayer, but its nice
I got that shit to work in modded hazards (6x2)
You have mind rot from imageboards, then. There's literally nothing in the game to even suggest 'reddit' beyond some extremely surface level pop culture shit that barely appears outside of a few taunt lines.
It's four boys drinking beer to go kill bugs. If that doesn't interest you as a concept, you can just say that instead of trying to fit in.
"YOU MAKE THIS TEAM REALLY WHOLESOME" and "YOU'RE CUTE" coming from a bunch of drunken roughnecks that are otherwise almost showboatingly masculine is funny as frick
C4 scouts
Coilgun scouts
Throw scouts into a volcano
Push scouts into bulk detonators
Dig downed scouts to the bottom of the map
Fill scouts with leadburster grenade holes
Light scouts on fire with flamethrowers
Freeze scouts in front of spitballers
Kill scouts for not lighting up every corner of the cave
Harass scouts for dying to fall damage
I have been telling anons here not to buy into the game/intense shilling ever since it left early access. >you never play the game >its fun bro, whats wrong with you >stop being a shitter bro, you have to play haz 5 >ITS THE BEST COOP game ever
While ignoring >it left ea without much content (4? biomes, 2 weapons/sub each class) >bosco is worthless in coop setting >classes are just equipment differences >only 1 armor type >massive grind required for every new weapon, promotions, perks and overclocks >ie every core game mechanic is grind gated >slightly 'OP' or fun weapons/perks/overclocks will receive the inevitable balance hammer >in a bloody pve game >50% of your time is throwing light sticks for illumination >missing terrain destruction and physics >players still can't manipulate the terrain in any significant manner >which also means mining is shit >mining is so bad nobody bothered to mine in higher difficulties >plebbitors here even encouraged other plebbitors not to mine gold in higher difficulties as its not "worth it" >while spamming cringe worthy, its gold, we're rich, rock and stone bro quotes >in a game about mining and dwarves >replace the dwarves with humans >wow, everything is exactly the same >building is minimal (totally missing in initial release) >even dare to announce a kickstarter about their shitty board game >when they have ton of money from sales >money they don't even bother to use to improve the game >or hire competent devs >not even fixing the same awful voices shared by 4 different classes >no sir, its too hard to implement new weapons man >its like too hard man, too much work >don't expect too much from us >dlcs, cosmetics, battle passes and trailers in every update
No, going mainstream didn't kill the game. What kills it is the overmarketing and shilling it didn't deserve. Devs being complete shitters at their job is a given since plebbitors latched on to this game like flies to shit. Best coop game my ass.
>missing terrain destruction and physics >players still can't manipulate the terrain in any significant manner >which also means mining is shit >mining is so bad nobody bothered to mine in higher difficulties >building is minimal (totally missing in initial release)
?????
what fricking chat bot did you pull this from, because none of this applies to the game at all
and why are you splitting the same train of thought into multiple lines to make your list look longer
'OP' or fun weapons/perks/overclocks will receive the inevitable balance hammer
sticky fuel, neurotoxin payload, fatboy, the lava one for beamer, chemical rounds, tuned cooler, thin containment field and many others would like to have a word with you
Killing enemies 5 times over while gimping your ammo is silly. You can basically kill the same amount of enemies in a pack as fat boy with 1-2 fire RJ250, but with 4x the ammo available.
>5 times over while gimping your ammo is silly
why are you shooting it at small groups of enemies? you shoot it to obliterate large swarms and to area deny further waves. Try playing on something harder than haz3 for a change.

>obliterate large swarms and to area deny further waves
The AoE isn't as large as the visual effect, and the DoT barely tickles bugs. RJ250 can kill just as many bugs in a single shot with 4x the ammo, not to mention grenade jumping ability.
Fat Boy gays outing themselves as Haz4 shitters once again.

You know fire kills large groups too, right? Since it spreads. As I said, 1-2 shots from 'any' other OC would essentially do the same damage as fat boy, unless they were streaming in slowly in which case fat boy takes a lead.
Rj ignites slashers and grunts killing them, while a direct hit ignites guards. Unless you’re worried about bumping friends off a cliff or something it’s the best of the three(lol) ammo oc the pgl has. Not a fan of the fatboy myself, engies secondary is his primary so limiting it to what, 4 shots? Just makes engie unfun for me. I only use breach unless it’s sabotage
>Neurotoxin literally got nerfed this patch.
It got reworked to focus on single target damage you idiot
They buffed carpet bomber to really make it the AoE OC
I haven't checked the patch notes. Is it just me did Haz 5 difficulty get buffed? Didn't have any trouble with the new enemies, the waves just seemed bigger and more frequent.

Seems there either aren't any servers really up or my game is borked. I do get servers in the full list, but not a huge number of them.
I've seen this before. Make sure your PC's time is accurate, because this game doesn't have servers and the mission list is generated from a seed. If your PC's clock is off an hour, you'll be seeing missions no one else is seeing.
>new gun is released >need to play 3 missions for the license >mission types suck ass and are boring >get the license >gun costs money >grind more missions to get money with guns I wouldn't rather use >get the gun >base gun isn't good enough to warrant using >grind even more missions to get money with the new babymode gun or the old gun I've been using for the past 10 missions >finally get a decent statline on the gun >it's bad
Why can't we just get the gun?
Imagine if you had to play 3 full matches on random specific maps in TF2 every single time you wanted a weapon drop, and you gotta pray that the maps are actually fun for you and not stupid shit like hightower or dustbowl
Why can't we just have the gun? Does it really need to be behind 4 hours of padded content that nobody really wants to deal with? What's the point?
I've played the game even before the Glacial Strata were added, and solo'd a mission as Engineer on Haz4 before it got split into Haz4 and Haz5, and the way they handle adding new guns is such bullshit that I can't bring myself to play it anymore Don't even get me started on anything involving that stupid fricking forge
>Imagine if you had to play 3 full matches on random specific maps in TF2 every single time you wanted a weapon drop
newbie literally does not remember idling servers for scrap drops so they could craft weapons. That shit was cancer.
Because it used to take significantly longer to get a new weapon in TF2 than it does to get a new weapon in DRG.
Trading and oversaturation over the last decade has made it mostly trivial, but still requires jumping through hoops to get trades.
Both systems are terrible, but TF2 effectively patched it out with the trading ecosystem and scrapbankers popping up everywhere after Mannconomy
DRG doesn't have that bypass method at all
True, but scrapbanking has been around ever since trade servers got big, and scraptf being a mainstream service since ~2014 made that irrelevant
I think that the DRG weapon distribution system is on-par with the old weapon drop system in TF2, if not worse
Maybe I had to buy a cow mangler at that 2 reclaimed 600% markup, but I got it instantly, and I could get it without spending hours on shit maps that I don't care for
i am fine if people can mine all the gold or nitra they want
morkite is where i draw the though, i am quite sure you don't get bonus bucks/exp for bringing in more morkite past the quota
You do, but it's only 1xp per unit. You're right that it doesn't give extra money, though.
For comparison, most every other mineral is 2xp per unit, with the exceptions of Dystrum and Hollomite, which are 1xp, like Morkite. The other side objectives (Blooms, seeds, nuts etc.) are 3xp per, even beyond quota. Brewing ingredients give nothing.
Just like sitting and killing a bunch of bugs at the drop pod for a meager 1xp each regardless of their health or difficulty isn't really worth it, mining excess anything isn't super worth it. The grand majority of experience comes from objectives, not individual minerals or materials. At higher hazards and warning modifiers, it does add up decently, but it's also probably not something you should focus too heavily on. Get what's convenient, but don't go out of your way for scraps.
Is it me or is scout just not fun?
I didn't really enjoy Scout until they added the crossbow. Once I got the Cryobolts OC, suddenly the Scout's biggest weakness, swarms, was much less of an issue, and I felt much more independent and capable either in groups or solo. Combine it with Bullets of Mercy and you're cooking with gas.
Threadly reminder that the developer was bought out by Embracer Group and then the update model immediately shifted to the seasonal model and it's been downhill ever since.
>all of the content is still free >the dlcs are nothing but ugly cosmetics >seasonal battlepass shit all just rolls into the normal loot pool from chests and last backpacks so there is no FOMO shit
Robots are bad. Rockpox are bad. Nobody likes them except the contrarian thread autist who will surely reply here.
Go into any lithophage game and watch as all the dwarves pretend the spikes don't exist and just wait for someone to crack and start foaming them because they're annoying antifun.
Threadly reminder that the developer was bought out by Embracer Group and then the update model immediately shifted to the seasonal model and it's been downhill ever since.
don't care
I will continue playing because I like video game
No, they lazy ass Danish devs killed it. 2 seasons (a full year) of middling updates when they used to crank out consistent content every 3 months is just pure laziness. Unless they have a sequel in the works or something, which if that's the case they should just announce that so people stop hoping for new weapons/overclocks/biomes/mission types. The game's still good though, and I'm glad the devs had success.
>the dwarves now talk like zoomer soiboys >add more weapons that are only viable with certain overclocks >add more enemy types instead of different missions
snooze
>join local server with chinese characters >must be a shitposter? >nope, 400ms ping
so, a chink using a vpn? if so, why?
there must be lots of chinese players as in any fricking game I play
Because Bugmen just do not care. They also don't want to play with themselves because they all suck. Also sometimes they just leave their VPNs on because greatest country in the world or something. That's the more likely reason. For some reason they base distance on whatever the IP suggests, not the ping. So a host with 300 ping that's in America will still read as "close" to me. They also always seem to have some hacks on. Instant depositing and fast revival are two I see a lot.
Tips from a greybeard who has 300 hours into the game
-Always start any new cave looking up, last thing you want is to get caught by a Cave Leech
-Learn your class' strengths and weaknesses
-In big groups, don't hog the supply drops
-Use your surroundings, learn to bottleneck the swarms so you don't get overwhelmed
Pretty much every random I've come across since S4 dropped have room temp IQ, so as long as yours is higher than that you'll be carrying people if anything.
Below haz 4 nobody cares, sometimes when looking thru missions the title might say something like "only silvers/above x lvl or kick" but even then unless you obviously frick up they dont bother to kick you out. I've met more people blasting their music using voip rather then acctually talking.
Learn what each classes job is and do it. It's pretty straightforward.
You can use your laser pointer to communicate pretty much anything you want to your teammates.
Don't do Haz4 until you have a firm grasp of the basics and can handle yourself in a swarm.
the game is good overall but this whole season is super weak >new frameworks is just default plus aids slapped on after the already boring as hell milspec gear >new boss that never spawns >new power up (singular) that never spawns and is literally just flappy bird instead of something unique >meteors still spawn at least every other mission >janny objective not its own mission >new enemies are great but the stingtail not only still bugs out but is now nerfed to shit
cant believe im saying this but you are kinda right
they are going the way of the popular indie dev where they just get lazy and shitty while content just screeches to a halt and they let modders make the main content or their fanbase rabidly defends the game >minecraft gets big, cant even put fireflies in the game now >factorio gets big, constant price increases with literally zero new content >rimworld gets big, basically just paid mods now from what ive heard
i hope they rectify this in season 5 but its not looking good imo, game is reaching its peak in popularity and i think they know that
no it’s just boring
it feels like I’m literally having to do a job playing this game mining rocks and killing braindead bugs that walk in a line towards you
tried it on a free weekend, saw a covid mask in the battle pass and laughed
realized it’s just a bugman redditcore game people play for cosmetics then uninstalled
The game got a ton of updates up to 1.0 and their promise was that they'd "keep supporting it even after release". I would consider DRG a completely finished game and anything added after 1.0 is just extra. I've played too many games that just aren't complete and devs never finish them or games that are supposed to continue getting updates in the same way DRG has but just don't due to the devs getting lazy or shifting most of their team to another game.
I paid for the game once and they've updated it dozens of times since then. It's been finished for over 3 years; all the stuff they've added since then has been what I'd consider "free extras".
I dont tell people I play this game anymore, not out of shame but because I like being left alone. Seems like a cosy game on console so I can only imagine how bad the PC side of things are
I got piss drunk one weekend and played this with friends and then forgot about it, you're homosexual e-celeb influencers picking it up had nothing to do with me not playing it anymore OP. Was pretty fun though from what I remember
>turrents not keeping build progress >breach cutter's electricity and plasma trail not working
did they break engie or something recently, or did I join some fricked up lobby?
>tiny update today breaks all my mods that were working before and crashes me multiple times >disable mods and restart
I don't care how much of a whiner I sound like but I do not find the game to even be playable without the automatic sprint mod.
>Mainstreamization
Nah, lack of interesting content and time spent playing is what's dragging it down for me.
I'm not complaining about the new content, anything would be better than nothing, and I mean it.
Just getting OB, digging to the map edges, or finding new bunkering techniques is so much more entertaining than any of these endless assignments/dailies. You know what I mean? The structure of the game bores me and the shit it doesn't directly reward is more fulfilling than what the devs have crafted.
My buggest issue that they reseason the same content twice and looks like they'll continue to with each actually new season.
I also hate that cancer theme. >"hello miners we noticed you enjoyed swinging pickaxes, repairing industrial machinery and pumping out oil ehhrr i mean morkite" >"now take that vacuum cleaner and do the job you fricking janny"
At least robots were somewhat ok. Have a feeling that yeah they have no more ideas
>Realize that haz 5 is identical to haz 4 except for bug movement speed and your fear disappears
Bug damage, projectile speed and health also go up, even more so than from Hazard 3 to 4, however you need the same set of skills you need to survive hazard 4 as hazard 5 so when it comes to what it feels like once you master Haz 4 you're already good at the game and will have less of an issue jumping into Haz 5
I'm fine with having 1 theme per 2 seasons, but only as long as it's executed correctly. Rival Escalation wasn't that great, but I still enjoyed it. Season 4, however, simply offers way too little.
The bloat in cargo crates is now an actual issue with the game, you constantly see people claim that there's no FOMO because it's all added to the loot pool but at the moment 280 items in the cargo crates and they show up around 10% of the time and this number only increases each season.
Are you using full brightness mods? Or is your monitor full brightness? It's borderline impossible to host a lobby and pick anything but scout, because random shitters won't use lights.
Why would you run hoverclock when EFS makes your focus shots do a billion damage? You're not some kind of shitter who can't use the grappling hook without killing themselves, are you?
>EFS
it has both upsides and downsides. multiple focus shots will be worse for example, and it also becomes weaker for enemies with high weakpoint multipliers. Not to mention stuff that is shock immune anyway
i would rather run Minimal Clips or Active Stability System, though
>develop game under no strict time constraints, have time to polish content and iron out all the bugs, extra time in early access >as game gets bigger it becomes exponentially harder to maintain, especially the codebase as it starts to turn into a clusterfrick or/and demand exponentially more time to work on >gays complain about no content, when there is a content gays complain about 'low quality' >gays play and buy shit anyway
The story of many games, this is on top of DRG running on UE a notorious piece of shit maintaining wise. You ether get semi frequent medium quality content or rare higher quality one and the bigger the game the harder it to add shit without nuking all that you build code and gameplay wise. When you take the second route you get no updates for over a year like Vrising even if the next one is big and keeps the high quality so p000mp eeet.
the game is getting more popular, and its not like its getting *worse*, so theres still a reason for old games to come back
but that doesnt mean that the new content & the game's increasing stability problems, performance issues, bugs that are left for years, etc cant be criticized
I joined a drilldozer mission and the tunnels were still sealed in everyones pc. Only the host could see the old drilldozer tunnels. Never seen this bug before gg dead game devs don't care
Bros, I've been running bullet hell and having fun
But my ammo expenditure is through the roof even with the ammo mod, Mole isn't cutting it for general use purposes due to the charge time and single shot nature, even if it is fun to delete priority targets from 2 caves over. What's a good compliment to the silly bouncy tickle gun?
>ammo mod
dont do it, take damage because it boosts your ammo efficiency very similary >what is a good compliment
Cryo cannon.
Just think of it >bullet hell deals LSLS tier damage output on average, except without the ability to shoot weakpoints properly >freeze makes you not need weakpoints
It seems silly at first but its very legit. Bullet Hell by itself is a lame overclock, Bullet Hell + a driller running something like cryo cannon with Improved Thermal Efficiency can unironically defeat modded hazards with double enemies.
Also, the stun mod in tier 3 is pretty amazing for bullet hell, try that too.
overall i'd run either 32223 or 32213, both would be pretty much preference.
I know freeze does well with it, i can't exactly fit a driller into my back pocket. I meant a secondary that fills in so the ammo expense with bullet hell can be properly supplemented so I'm not going overboard as much, currently I'm hovering at around 1k ammo before resupplying out of 3k total.
I basically already have the same build as you aside from ammo/damage tier.
I'm thinking of 6 shooter or exp rounds but I'm not sure between them, or id there are others thatd also be a good choice
of course, i get it
i was just saying that a secondary cant really compensate bullet hell's flaws. you really just gotta run something else. Bullet Hell really isnt a good pick by itself, its a very strong synergy pick.
I assume you want single target, and gunner's generic secondaries for single targets aint really very great, with poor ammo themselves. Of course, theres a way to fix this : having YET ANOTHER synergy with another player, volatile bullets >volatile bullets
ridiculous damage against burning targets >>more ammo efficiency than all other gunner single target secondaries >>only a small base damage reduction
But you wont be able to ignite shit at a range, because bullet hell. So ideally you have another player with ranged ignition
i cant fit another player in my second back pocket
run Composite Casings BRT, i guess
Experimental Rounds BRT
Packs enough of a punch to put the hurt on big bugs while being efficient enough that it wont bankrupt your ammo supply when you need it for small/ medium shit
>Deeprock threads used to be really comfy >Anons full of hope at the future of the game >The memes and jokes hadn't gotten old yet >Everyone sharing deepdive knowledge and gun builds
I miss it, bros
At this point it's two groups: people who genuinely have a hateboner for the game and people who will post the same bait every time to bump the threads, thinking they can't survive naturally. Both should be lobotomized.
It was inevitable that once popularity increased we'd get more shitposters, happened in every niche game that gained popularity, this one wouldn't be any different
Yea the updates have been losing steam but at least the game is not ruined *cough*kf2*cough*. If they can give me one final update with tower defense mission I will not complain
game is 6 years old already
Yeah I'm sure mainstreamization is the reason they decided to double down on space aids, added no new weapon, only reworked like 5 overclocks and gave the subata a little buff after 6 months of rockaids.
I'm still fine with the seasonal model. I guess it comes down to whether you think the seasonal theme is cool or not.
In the launch stream they did for season 4 it sounded like they're the most enthusiastic about a archeological themed addition to the game and that they stuck with rockpox just because they had more ideas they wanted to run with. So maybe season 5 will be relics or something like that.
Honestly they just need to focus on additions for core gameplay next season, rather than something limited: >Way more room generation/tilesets >More mission modifiers >More overclocks for existing weapons, should be much easier than actually making weapons >Some kind of daily random mission where you cant see the zone, modifiers, etc until you run it but its different for each host >If they're feeling bold maybe a new biome
both reddit nuke and 250 are now useless because infected exploders and spitters exist and after spinning death was made not shit
breach cutter is mandatory on infected missions and still best in slot on normal ones, nice job danes making cutter BiS again after trying to avoid that for year+
It's been in the game for a long time, we used to have way less nitra spawns in the game and these were for emergency situations
Devs eventually moved away from nitra scarcity but these are kept in the game
I've seen one pretty much every time
Usually it's in the tunnel leading to the big cave with the mules which is kind of useless unless you remember that it's there afterward
I was going to say that the wiki says it's only a chance for them to spawn, but after actually reading it, it's a chance for 2 broken ones spawning in 1 mission, so I guess you're right
I guess so lmao. They are guaranteed 1 every salvage mission no matter what. As another anon mentioned you can find then with the terrain scanner because the verticle tunnel they dropped in from is still there
They'll most likely add another power up box in each update going forward
I can see them adding shit like exploding flares, a ground pound, overcharged pick axe etc
I believe it, I have around 200 perk points after getting everything and they said that it's an unideal system that functioned how it needed for a bit
My guess is that they will add pickaxe and armor overclocks from a lot of the perks and just toss out perks entirely, make perk points into achievement points give you phazyonite
Just make some big paid expansion instead of those shitty support packs. That last one is so fricking ugly i genuinely thought it was some elaborate season prank.
Can you please elaborate on that?
its no longer a niche hidden gem so he can't feel superior for knowing about and now feels ostracized from discussion(they don't even remember goblin ass). Oh and being a sc**t now gets you c4'd way more often.

didn't some homosexual youtuber cover this game and told people to troll players with C4?
>update adds new enemies
>they're moronic and make the game less fun
>the arcade game is flappy birds
What went wrong?
>>they're moronic and make the game less fun
stingtail is based
the new voicelines are often genuinely fricking awful in that regard, you are right
>fighting near a sheer cliff
>stingtail sneaks up and yeets me off to my death
Love this homie.
flappy bid is cancer, but the new enemies are alright.
yeah, i agree. it actually makes the drill dozer somewhat harder. the fly boots kind of make every other kind of transporation irrelevant though if you find it in a cave, which i've only encountered ONE and it was on the release of the update.
Flappy bird is kino, frick you homosexuals
Get good. Start making builds with armor breaking
I would if the armor breaking mods actually worked as intended
they fixed a lot of them, its strong on a lot of things
Best example is m1k. theres almost no reason to pick anything else in the mod tier with almost every m1k build. Not only its insane for excellent breakpoints and armor-shredding against many key enemies, it also lets you two-shot grunts to the body even without damage mod, and works with blowthrough
They literally made these enemies so you pick armor breaking rather than changing armor on old mobs
or just shoot the stinger
Stinger is made of armor. It's built like a shellback
>Fire PGL at a pack of exploders
>Stingtail rounds corner and yanks me into them as they wind up their death explosion
>Die horribly
if you dont think stingtails rule you just hate fun
Stingtail is fine, though. A big problem was the lack of any real smoker equivalent. He just needs to be rebalanced.
Stingtail has too much health and armor for what it is supposed to be.
it's a praet but actually threatening
maybe you should get some armorbreaking mods then m8, that's why he was made
>rather than fix how awful armor break is, just add a second shell back to the enemy pool
And the only way I can see it having a distinct advantage is to just lean more heavily into it
>armor break weapons just straight up ignore light armor's damage reduction, instead of requiring the armor to break by chance
>batch the armor break chance for pellet based weapons instead of calculating it per pellet
>aoe armor break properly affects all plates in their radius instead of just the one it makes direct contact with
>affect all types of armor that has a healthbar instead of selectively excluding any
Yes technically armor break is better than taking nothing, but it better damn well be worth taking for cases where the dedicated "i hope your brought armor break :*~~))" enemies are randomly added to the spawn pool.
[Laughs in goo]
>Sting tail actually is a ironwill shitter check
>ooze shooter now makes defendable positions less defendable
>the rockpox enemies are absoluetely insane and if underestimated will swarm and rockpox your ass to death.
Iam sorry you cant handle it scrubby these are all good additions that made the game less predicatble and evened out some of the best tools the dwarves have, the only real horseshit is that we were missing some new weapons.
none of my previous builds was affected in any tangible way against the new enemies :/
I handle everything fine with my electrolaser engi I perfected last season, besides being unable to damage the pox mactera for some reason.
I unironically love them all
New enemies mix it up nicely and make haz 5 scary again.
>flappy bird is cancer
10 fricking years ago, maybe. There's other trash mobile games normalgays have moved onto.
You got Dark Omen'd
Stingtail just needs to be more visible. Shitflingers can be annoying but that just puts them on a similar level to trijaws
I'm fine with the way the stingtail generally looks, but I think it should have an animation where it is readying its tail that draws attention to it so if youre paying attention you can easily tell what you need to start dodging, kinda like how cave leeches have animations when they have a target but before they actually try grabbing.
I think the tails glow a bit when it’s prepping the grab but it’s not enough for me
You have an unmistakable audio cue for when the stingtail is about to attempt a grab.
>The audio cue is too quiet compared to other bugs
an outright lie. it even stands out a lot because it's a out-of-place, weird clown noise
>weird clown noise
More like CUTE SQUEAKS. Stingtail a cute. CUTE.
>try to refute my point by immediately proving my point
>The audio cue is too quiet
whenever I hear one of those frickers they sound as though they could be anywhere on the map
By less fun you mean you need to actually have an ounce of awareness instead of 95% of the enemies slow walking to you?
i picked up this game the other day and its the funnest shit ive played in years
enjoy your time. once you promote one of your dwarves, try doing a deep/elite deep dive for those sweet overclocks
Just you wait until you hit a really tough mission. You'll be hearing the screech of glyphids even when you close the game.
>helicopter game is forever known as flappy bird
bros...
The input mechanics of floppy bird are nothing like the helicopter game
It should have been that instead
Sting is great. Thought spreader would be lame but they gave him fricking skynet AI or something, I've watched this Black person run and bombard you from behind terrain.
There’s too many Reddit/Marvel-tier quips now. Too many toxically positive rituals that were pressured into joining. The game became too popular and flanderized.
>Too many toxically positive rituals that were pressured into joining
You sound like a queer
>pre season 4: good morning, sunshine... 🙁
>post season 4: today is a new day, with infinite possibilities! 😀
Yeah I fricking hate it too.
I don't mind saying we're rich as long as i'm only expected to ping it 2 or 3 times and I have never experienced the stuff with ping mushrooms and the like so it must be a regional thing
I agree with you on the voicelines though, some of them are a maybe a little silly but I can tolerate them but that shitty fricking dude weed lmao one is cancer
I'm glad they added the voicelines so most people stop pinging when mission control loses his shit
im in NA and ive had missions failed because everyone was too busy reddit pinging a mushroom/gold nugget
i dont even ping anymore. i just quickly deposit while no one's looking.
>some tard spamming ping on gold chunk
>2 others join in
>I just grab it and shove it down molly's hole
>get on with my job
Frick these redditors.
What killed this game is the goddamn timegated matrix core system. It just gets so boring to play week after week and not get the overclocks you actually want.
Here's a tip. You can use cheat engine to give you as many matrixes and resources you want. Can even level yourself up to max promotion in an instant. Now you know why max rank randoms who join your haz 4 lobby dies constantly and plays worse than a greenbeard.
It would be nice if they were a bit less stingy and put the cosmetics in a different pool.
Every weapon is 100% viable without overclocks, they are meant to spice things up for you as you continue to play the game.
yeah. alot of people here are just complaining because they are lonely.
>IF YOU DONT LIKE MY GAME.. Y-YOU'RE LONELY!
what
Normal people just ignore things they don't like and focus on things they do like. If you're going out of your way to b***h and moan about a video game you don't enjoy, you are a miserable person. What are you hoping to accomplish? Do you want people who enjoy it to feel bad about it? Are you hoping to create a circlejerk of misery?
I actually don't know what this thread is about. I think the game is fun, I just saw your post and how moronic it is
Sorry gay
That wasn't my post, but you're still a dumb Black person either way.
Let me guess, too many people like the game for you to keep enjoying it? You don't feel like you're part of a secret club anymore?
i cant believe they nerfed the scorpion. okay sure people getting flung up to the moon during salvage was kind of ridiculous but, 10m?
in practice it doesnt work, theyre still flinging people from ceilings
if you ask me, scorpion should have been made much stronger and faster, and turned into a less common enemy
I think the thing could use more polish too but I can understand why it just fricking bounces you like a yoyo.
nothing has changed, still the best coop you can find if you have some friends to play with
>game gets no content for a year
>suddenly it starts getting plenty more
>this kills the game according to morons
>>game gets no content for a year
thats every time with the new season system
>suddenly it starts getting plenty more
the new content in seasons beyond 1, though mostly welcome, feel extremely low quality in comparison, often with a loss of charm in some departments too.
the season system has worsened the game greatly by making them half-ass the content instead of focusing on it individually, i assume it was Devolver who made them do it for bigger profits despite it being a detriment to the game.
THE CHANGES SUCK
THEY JUST FRICKING SUCK AND HAVE MADE THE GAME LESS FUN
sorry you feel that way
the game is just as fun for me now as it was when i bought it in EA
>You're comparing the release of content from before the game was considered complete to content released afterwards.
Azure Weald and Hollow Bough were actually after the game released beyond 1.0, so not really.
A lot of people felt the game still was a bit incomplete during the 1.0 release, and the game hasnt actually progressed much in some departments it lacks the most. It was also always meant to be a game that was actively developed and built upon anyway, evident by the seasons
>The whole point was that they finished making such huge new changes so they could focus on littler things in the seasons
Forgot to mention
>that entire text wall about quality control
Never have I left a lobby faster.
Why?

Hey buddy, I think the Reddit blackout ended already. You can go back now.
uninstalling
Developers need to stop appealing to people who don't even play their games outside of using the product for social media.
Don't look up who's employee of the month.
me hahaha
The devs killed it by being lazy greedy homosexuals, more interested in kicking off their twitch streaming career than actually working on the game.
But he's right about weapons. There's already tons of overlap in functionality. Gunner primaries are a great example of this, where first you have the single target gun, then the aoe gun, then a gun that isn't as good at either.
More and more weapons with little care for overlap or balance is what killed TF2
they are greedy, but most of all, they're already out of creativity/initiative, there are a lot of things they could rework, such as perks, OCs, Deep Dives.
They will probably breach peak player numbers in season 5 once again
realise that you can outrun grunts at any difficulty, even just WASD + space is overpowered
you can get an op build that deletes a lot of things with low effort
>we are not going to add another assault rifle that does thing
>does exactly that to the scout
>release goo gun that is just sticky flame
wtf
>comparatively small team
>most of the base game was built by a team of 6
>GSG now employs 32
>they aren't even the devs of the spin off game
What exactly do those 32 people do for the 7 months between updates?
They take paychecks.
That's all they do.
admin dep. has always been, and always will be a detriment to any gaming company.
>we are watching a company In real time that this is happening to.
They do nothing, simple as.
32 people team should do well enough, but DRG devs are embarassingly lazy. Last Season update could barely pass as a simple content patch.
this
and blue is men and red is women
>sell more than 5.5 million copies
>sorry we can't spend a few thousand dollarydoos goy
a tale as old as time
>- A full balance pass in regards to how it plays alongside every other weapon. And that's a task that continues for months after release
These Black folk don't test half the features they release, how do they expect me to believe they put that much effort into balancing?
... Not like their idea of balance is worth anything since they only play Haz 4.
haz4 is the intended difficulty and what the game is balanced around
for me haz5 is the standard difficulty
What hoxx is all about
That being said, with scorpions and the other spit decay monsters I finally kneel at the thought of some maps playing with pubbies
Sounds like they're making a fair point to me.
He's not wrong and it's why they shouldn't introduce new weapons, but rather work on expanding what the existing weapons can do.
Games fun. Simple as.
it was always mediocre
You can play this game for dozens of hours and you'll come across like 5 small bugs and usually none of them will be game breaking, they're doing good job
it’s great, you’re just contrarian (as would be expected)
only cool things since the introduction of "seasons" were new weapons. Rest is whatever
feels like seasons have less and less content, balancing is still shit, new stuff is meh or bad (robots, hacking minigames...)
I played this game a lot but I see no reason to come back.
how do I graduate from haz 4 to haz 5 i am scared
it's not that bad
>same garbage frick perks
>same set of useless OCs
>SHINY NEW BATTLEPASS!!!!!
It's all so tiresome
Realize that haz 5 is identical to haz 4 except for bug movement speed and your fear disappears
just do it, it's not that hard
it's all about trying your best to avoid taking unnecessary damage
don't put yourself in bad situations, keep an eye on enemies and escape routes
it's the same thing except more stressful as you don't have as much time to relax between swarms, kinda like lategame point extraction on lower hazards
Dash + Iron Will
play gunner with the overclock that doesnt let you move while shooting the minigun. This was one of the best ways to teach me how to kite in haz 5. Also super fun to jump around then plant your feet and unload at the horde chasing you.
>rock pox but the enemies are red sometimes
>this is good enough for an entire new "season"
>new "season" has no new weapons or weapon cores
it's so over.
I'd say the streamlining of their procedural generation killed the game for me. it seems with every update the caves become more and more similar. I remember there used to be way more variety
This.
Every now and then I end up in a huge cave system but it's definitely uncommon especially on haz 5 confusingly enough.
Ideally we would have masive cave systems filled with content.
How many elite deep dives have you finished?
No him but I haven't done an EDD in over a year
There's no point when it gives less exp, minerals and no skins.
I have all overclocks since a couple months after they were introduced
I also have all the weapon overclocks, and I still do the Elite Deep Dives.
DD and EDD have the best cave generation, they have their own separate logic from regular missions
I wish there was a mission randomizer where you get a bunch of different objectives mixed up like in DD
best youll get is mission content randomizer
https://mod.io/g/drg/m/mission-content-randomizer
What's some ideas you had for weapon additions anons? I had some for Driller
>Arc Welder-style full-auto lightning gun
>short-range Scrap Gun secondary w/mod or overclock that lets you literally convert basic materials mulched by your drills into ammo
>glue grenade, does no damage but immense slowdown and synergizes with all debuffs (catches fire, faster ice freezing, conductive, etc.)
digging grenade that instantly creates a short tunnel. for driller
net grenade that casts a wide net that instantly captures any enemies, including flying ones, and groups them together in one large pile you can shoot. for scout.
grenade that's a swarm of nanites that will fly around like shredders, except not deal damage to enemies, instead helping you build anything you're building by boosting the speed by 2,5x. you can hold 16. for engineer.
a grenade that creates continuous thumps into the terrain, scaring away any bugs from entering its circle, kinda like a shield without the actual shield. lasts for 10 seconds and you can hold 5. for gunner.
nanites are useless except for a single part of refinery and dozer if you're really bad. Make them boost or regen your shields.
i want a pvp areana mode with 4 teams of 4
Unironically.
>muh pvp
if you don't find shooting ai exciting in a pve game that's your problem.
i do. i also find pvp exciting. why cant there be both? the devs clearly are phoning in the pve now.
>why cant there be both?
There are approximately one billion PVP FPS. Go play any of those.
they are not doing what deep rock could be doing. you lack imagination
it's easy to imagine how stupid the pvp would be with stuff like hyperprop, mole, fat boy, cryo nades, snowball, ice spear, lok-1, explosive reload, embbed dets, etc. they would have to rebalance most things just to prevent people killing each other in 1sec
>get cryo'd in pvp
>spam the button to break out while the enemy driller is making a C4 shrine out of your sculpture
i do this in pve to sc**ts and engis that dont put down a turret
At least i truly see. Different pvp for each class.
>driller is DRG styled bomberman
>scout is a sniper-movement duel
>idk for engineer, could be something like bloons TD battles, making use of fun things like platform repellant
>no idea for gunner
so they could have on set of OC's for pvp and another for pve. this really isnt that hard or offensive.
Sure man, let's see you say that after you've killed your 10,000th Glyphid that's attacked you by charging at you in a straight line
>grunt enemy acts like a grunt
the problem is with enemy variety, they need to add more bugs. instead they keep focusing on random seasonal gimmicks like rockpox and robots.
they literally just added septic spreader and stingtail
HEY EVERYONE, YOU HEAR THAT? AFTER MONTHS OF WAITING, GUESS WHAT: GSG ADDED 2 NEW ENEMIES.
2.
NEW.
ENEMIES.
I'M SO HECCIN' PUMPED, I'M GONNA SLAM DOWN THIS CRAFT BEER AND GO TELL MY MOM'S BOYFRIEND!!!
gsg has always been slow
dont get me wrong, theyre not doing that great a job, ive even done a huge text wall shitting on gsg. i just think your complaint isnt being all that accurate
I'd rather complain about
>total lack of new progression systems, still nothing to do after overclocks (its been 3 years)
>balancing in guns that has gotten so bad, to the point its far beyond '' oh this is muh too op and this is too weak '', it hurts build variety massively across the entire playerbase
>gsg has always been slow
no they arent
updates were 2-4 months apart during early access with 7 full time employees
Season 4 took 7 months at ~30
Because theyre trying to cram more stuff together, and not admitting to taking breaks when theyre supposed to, exhaustion after s3
scroll up to my huge text wall over why the season system is shit and hurting the game
no one wants you around
That's more than what the Minecraft devs can do, to be fair.
they're really good enemies though
i just wish they didnt gut the stinger so hard. shit was hilarious.

Name 1 (ONE), uno, jedna, eins, singular other shooter with more enemy variety where every enemy has their own set of animations, sounds and attacks, accurate hitboxes, physics on stuff like armor and so on. I'm not upset with slower content rate after all those years of getting best content out of likely every game ever all the time. It's tons of fun, yes amount of content already, they didn't get greedy with monetization and keep pumping out free quality content even if it slowed down a bit, go outside and touch grass
>I'm not upset
I just want more region specific bugs, man.
>2 new bugs after 2 years of no new bugs
Only 10,000?
Those bugs suck, we just need biome specific versions of shit.
>radiation bugs that kinda glow
>literally fricking nothing else aside from snow praetorian and goo bomber
wheres my furry ice glyphids
wheres my crackling molten glyphids
Wheres the camo glyphid with little flowers growing on it parasiticall- oh wait that's rockpox and it sucks
fricking red spitter has made the game worse in every single way, stingtail is okay but why does it sound like a fricking rubber ducky being stepped on
>wheres my crackling molten glyphids
theres a fire goo bomber in the gamefiles
its damage is broken and it just about instakills you on h5
>Wheres the camo glyphid with little flowers growing on it parasitical-
Theres a stalker invisible glyphid. It was meant to be added on season 4 but delayed for later. Still playable with mods, just like firebomber
okay cool now make them for all the fricking glyphids. grunts, slashers, guards, praes, opps,
>stingtail is okay but why does it sound like a fricking rubber ducky being stepped on
You are like a wee leaf lover.
noice
engineer gaming
Is it better to have two sentries or one in higher missions? Two sentries seems obvious for the higher dps and better coverage but I imagine the single upgraded turrent stretches ammo better.
do you want to live without ammo or die with ammo unused?
2 sentries are great for more defensive missions, but I usually go single for all of them because I focus on mobility a lot and want to be able to plop down my sentry quickly if I see swarmers, shredders, shockers or similar coming or just simply to help with swarm at any point, for me it's single sentry with max damage, armor break and quick deploy
You're always better off going with gemini.
Gemini with defender beats mk2 on both dps and ammo.
I personally run two turrets, they get stuff done quicker and the extra ammo you get from choosing two kind of balances it out. My go to guns are Explosive chemical rounds Lok-1 and Turret EM discharge stubba.
fatboy is love
>shoot bug in the face
>the head fricking explodes
never gets old
I had some awesome ideas that i thought about in practice, check this out
>Gunner's coilgun
i actually had the idea for gunner's coilgun before it was added, functionality wise.
Low effort, high effectiveness.
>flamethrower, but with electricity
>single shot BRT, but with ammo regen
>IFG, but without electricity
Amazing
, but with electricity
flame for fear
electricity for slow
different utility, homosexualron
Fire and cryo already slow
Cryo freezes and incurs a dmg boost. Electricity should slow and spread the dmg.
Give me a lightning shotgun for short range burst, it'll be great.
yes, and?
what a facetious, no fun homosexual you are
everything is derivative of everything with that kind of awful mentality
Hearing about the new update being mediocre as a Silver sc**t who uninstalled DRG 2 months ago makes me feel validated tbh. DRG's a damn good game, but it's core gameplay loop will always get boring eventually because all you do is fight AI. Now, if DRG added a PvP update to spice things up?
That would be fricking incredible, I'd reinstall so fast I'd be shitting myself
congratulations scout, you are now more important than ever to combat the absolute menace known as the glyphid septic spreader
engi with lok kills them easy
not in my experience, t. engie main. the problem is the frickers will hide out of line of sight while still perfectly tracking you with their artillery bullshit. best way to handle them is to zip right up to them
It would make a really good extraction shooter.
>it's core gameplay loop will always get boring eventually because all you do is fight AI.
See above. Play with randos. Playing solo is for masochists.
I'd argue playing with randos is for masochists.
You either get sweaty tryhards who won't shut up about your build or greenbeards who don't know how to play. Bosco is better than dealing with randos.
>You either get sweaty tryhards who won't shut up about your build
this only happens if you are absolute dogshit and go down every 20 seconds and I only seen it happen like twice in my 600ish hours in the game
>join full driller lobby
>2 goo & 2 flamer
It's literally a warframe reskin idk why it got so popular in the first place. The gameplay is boring.
Knowing what we knew at the time of their release
S1 = S2 > S3 > S4
I wish they paid devs to make new biomes, enemies, weapons, and ADD PHYSICS TO MOLLY AND OBJECTS LIKE TURRETS. I don't care about cosmetics at some point. My guy is clothed and it's fine like it is.
Also Liquids and Vehicles.
man the new barrage hurricane OC sucks dick
>lets give you ultra low - ultra high rate of fire
>but lets make the missiles move slow as frick with no guidance so they're fricking useless but at close range
gay
homosexual even
>with no guidance
that's literally the point
frick off, every other OC has some guidance bullshit
let me have my missile spam
use anything else
just make them go faster then
Pick the rocket speed upgrade then to compensate for your skill issue
cope , I use jet fuel 🙂
he doesnt actually have a skill issue in that regard, rocket barrage has awful accuracy so it cant do single target at mid range
its stats are still overall great though.
>awful accuracy
Compared to what, the coilgun? It's better than the minigun until full spinup, and autocannon always.
Feels like the plasma cannon from tribes except i'm not aiming at 200mph freaks, just slow ass crawling grannies
Its fricking great overall lol, way better than base gun despite the ammo efficiency loss. Nowhere as strong as minelayer, but its nice
I got that shit to work in modded hazards (6x2)
I unironically refuse to play this game because it feels too "/v/eddity" to me.
Dunno how to explain it. There's this weird middle ground between Ganker and Reddit culture that comes across as super cringe.
It's not Ganker and it's not Reddit, it's in-between and it gives me the ick.
>reddit spacing
well trolled my good gentlesir, i tip m'hat to you *tips*
the trick is to join in-progress missions to skip the whole lobby experience of dancing and drinking while spamming rock&stone
or just host your own games
You have mind rot from imageboards, then. There's literally nothing in the game to even suggest 'reddit' beyond some extremely surface level pop culture shit that barely appears outside of a few taunt lines.
It's four boys drinking beer to go kill bugs. If that doesn't interest you as a concept, you can just say that instead of trying to fit in.
did you borrow my underwear? have I ever told you that you make this place really wholesome?
"YOU MAKE THIS TEAM REALLY WHOLESOME" and "YOU'RE CUTE" coming from a bunch of drunken roughnecks that are otherwise almost showboatingly masculine is funny as frick
>If you don't like it, frick off >:(
>It's super wholesome 100 tho :3
This is what I'm talking about, right here.
"Frick off if you dont like it" is a concept lost on entitled zoomers that are convinced everything should cater to them.
You are trying too hard to fit, maybe just find another hobby would help.
Thank God. One less insufferable subhuman playing my comfy game. Keep trying to fit in le epic 4chin culture and get the frick away from DRG.
Just say it has a "toxic positivity" problem.
Yea, no, you have brain damage.
C4 scouts
Coilgun scouts
Throw scouts into a volcano
Push scouts into bulk detonators
Dig downed scouts to the bottom of the map
Fill scouts with leadburster grenade holes
Light scouts on fire with flamethrowers
Freeze scouts in front of spitballers
Kill scouts for not lighting up every corner of the cave
Harass scouts for dying to fall damage
The inability to bully and harass noobs online has killed game cultures.
Go back to Left 4 Dead 2 if you want an outright hostile match with randos
Ah yes a game with culture, i may
It literally hasn't changed you contrarian homosexual.
I have been telling anons here not to buy into the game/intense shilling ever since it left early access.
>you never play the game
>its fun bro, whats wrong with you
>stop being a shitter bro, you have to play haz 5
>ITS THE BEST COOP game ever
While ignoring
>it left ea without much content (4? biomes, 2 weapons/sub each class)
>bosco is worthless in coop setting
>classes are just equipment differences
>only 1 armor type
>massive grind required for every new weapon, promotions, perks and overclocks
>ie every core game mechanic is grind gated
>slightly 'OP' or fun weapons/perks/overclocks will receive the inevitable balance hammer
>in a bloody pve game
>50% of your time is throwing light sticks for illumination
>missing terrain destruction and physics
>players still can't manipulate the terrain in any significant manner
>which also means mining is shit
>mining is so bad nobody bothered to mine in higher difficulties
>plebbitors here even encouraged other plebbitors not to mine gold in higher difficulties as its not "worth it"
>while spamming cringe worthy, its gold, we're rich, rock and stone bro quotes
>in a game about mining and dwarves
>replace the dwarves with humans
>wow, everything is exactly the same
>building is minimal (totally missing in initial release)
>even dare to announce a kickstarter about their shitty board game
>when they have ton of money from sales
>money they don't even bother to use to improve the game
>or hire competent devs
>not even fixing the same awful voices shared by 4 different classes
>no sir, its too hard to implement new weapons man
>its like too hard man, too much work
>don't expect too much from us
>dlcs, cosmetics, battle passes and trailers in every update
No, going mainstream didn't kill the game. What kills it is the overmarketing and shilling it didn't deserve. Devs being complete shitters at their job is a given since plebbitors latched on to this game like flies to shit. Best coop game my ass.
>missing terrain destruction and physics
>players still can't manipulate the terrain in any significant manner
>which also means mining is shit
>mining is so bad nobody bothered to mine in higher difficulties
>building is minimal (totally missing in initial release)
?????
what fricking chat bot did you pull this from, because none of this applies to the game at all
and why are you splitting the same train of thought into multiple lines to make your list look longer
That is the stupidest list of complaints you could come up with
Your filters are messed up probably
Seems there either aren't any servers really up or my game is borked. I do get servers in the full list, but not a huge number of them.
mucho texto homosexualo
'OP' or fun weapons/perks/overclocks will receive the inevitable balance hammer
sticky fuel, neurotoxin payload, fatboy, the lava one for beamer, chemical rounds, tuned cooler, thin containment field and many others would like to have a word with you
Neurotoxin literally got nerfed this patch. Fatboy isn't OP, its just fun. RJ250 is actually 'better' than Fatboy in a practical sense.
>RJ250 is actually 'better' than Fatboy in a practical sense
that being no damage and a shitty gimmick
>he lacks the critical information
Your loss
>no damage
>he doesn't know
Killing enemies 5 times over while gimping your ammo is silly. You can basically kill the same amount of enemies in a pack as fat boy with 1-2 fire RJ250, but with 4x the ammo available.
>conveniently forgets the other features of fatboy
you argue in bad faith, goodbye
denying your team a huge ass zone is not a feature griefer
skill issue
yes using reddit nuke instead of everything else that doesn't suck is in fact skill issue
>engi boomstick good...
>BECAUSE IT JUST IS OKAYY???
kys shitter
>HAHAHA NUKING Sc**t
kys reddit
shitter mad because his OC is shit
>5 times over while gimping your ammo is silly
why are you shooting it at small groups of enemies? you shoot it to obliterate large swarms and to area deny further waves. Try playing on something harder than haz3 for a change.
>area deny
>worst dot in the game
lmao
>obliterate large swarms and to area deny further waves
The AoE isn't as large as the visual effect, and the DoT barely tickles bugs. RJ250 can kill just as many bugs in a single shot with 4x the ammo, not to mention grenade jumping ability.
Fat Boy gays outing themselves as Haz4 shitters once again.
>4x the ammo
>need 6 shots to deal the same amount of damage
>no giant aoe dot
back to haz 3 where you belong
?????????????
Are you guys just pretending people dont use the fire talent? Almost any PGL OC with fire kills slashers and below, which is the point of the PGL.
They like the green glow, that's it
>just pretending
No, they're really that stupid.
>The AoE isn't as large as the visual effect
No it isn't, but I have used it long enough to know what the radius is when I'm lobbing a grenade
Neurotoxin's nerf barely has any impact compared to the buff it got
>Neurotoxin literally got nerfed this patch.
It got reworked to focus on single target damage you idiot
They buffed carpet bomber to really make it the AoE OC
>Neurotoxin literally got nerfed this patch
what changed?
It does good single target damage and weak aoe damage now, reduced ammo
Here you go
>doesn't matter
>doesn't matter
>buff
>doesn't matter
wow
the nerfs definitely matter in how NTP was played before, but the direct damage increase is great for killing big bugs
now try again without crying
I haven't checked the patch notes. Is it just me did Haz 5 difficulty get buffed? Didn't have any trouble with the new enemies, the waves just seemed bigger and more frequent.
Anyone having trouble even getting the server list up? Keeps spinning round and round for me.
whenever this happens i pull up full server list instead of using server filters.
I've seen this before. Make sure your PC's time is accurate, because this game doesn't have servers and the mission list is generated from a seed. If your PC's clock is off an hour, you'll be seeing missions no one else is seeing.
>Third fase of EDD
>Finish it on a clutch
>Server crashes
Yeah, uninstalling this garbo until they fix the fricking servers.
>new gun is released
>need to play 3 missions for the license
>mission types suck ass and are boring
>get the license
>gun costs money
>grind more missions to get money with guns I wouldn't rather use
>get the gun
>base gun isn't good enough to warrant using
>grind even more missions to get money with the new babymode gun or the old gun I've been using for the past 10 missions
>finally get a decent statline on the gun
>it's bad
Why can't we just get the gun?
Imagine if you had to play 3 full matches on random specific maps in TF2 every single time you wanted a weapon drop, and you gotta pray that the maps are actually fun for you and not stupid shit like hightower or dustbowl
Why can't we just have the gun? Does it really need to be behind 4 hours of padded content that nobody really wants to deal with? What's the point?
I've played the game even before the Glacial Strata were added, and solo'd a mission as Engineer on Haz4 before it got split into Haz4 and Haz5, and the way they handle adding new guns is such bullshit that I can't bring myself to play it anymore
Don't even get me started on anything involving that stupid fricking forge
>Imagine if you had to play 3 full matches on random specific maps in TF2 every single time you wanted a weapon drop
newbie literally does not remember idling servers for scrap drops so they could craft weapons. That shit was cancer.
how exactly does that contradict his point?
Because it used to take significantly longer to get a new weapon in TF2 than it does to get a new weapon in DRG.
Trading and oversaturation over the last decade has made it mostly trivial, but still requires jumping through hoops to get trades.
ok but it being cancer to get weapons in TF2 doesn't mean it's not also cancer to get new weapons in DRG
The point being made was literally a comparison to TF2.
Read the post you fricking monkey.
yes and it came across as an "it's not that bad" kind of post, because that's how it's written, moron
>yes and it came across as an "it's not that bad" kind of post,
yes
because it quite literally
is not as bad as TF2 was
that is the point of the post
and the point of the reply
>REEEEEEEEE HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME PLAY THE VIDEO GAME
Both systems are terrible, but TF2 effectively patched it out with the trading ecosystem and scrapbankers popping up everywhere after Mannconomy
DRG doesn't have that bypass method at all
True, but scrapbanking has been around ever since trade servers got big, and scraptf being a mainstream service since ~2014 made that irrelevant
I think that the DRG weapon distribution system is on-par with the old weapon drop system in TF2, if not worse
Maybe I had to buy a cow mangler at that 2 reclaimed 600% markup, but I got it instantly, and I could get it without spending hours on shit maps that I don't care for
because if you just got the gun you'd be seething and shitting your pants crying theres no progression system
>Why can't we just get the gun?
>just give me everything without effort
>No, don't call just yet!
>There's more nitra to mine
I wish murder was legal
there are actual children playing this game, had some kids freak out on the mic when they joined my uncapped player lobby
are you an ELF or a DWARF?
dwarfs lust for ALL the minerals. doesn't matter if they can USE them. they still NEED them. only a fricking elf could leave minerals behind.
i bet you walk right past gold veins too.
Yeah having people LARP at me is usually what happens when I say 'lets go'
if you aren't playing DRG to play DRG, then why even bother?
go play WoW as a femboy troony elf homosexual and do your usual ERP grfit already.
>go play WoW as a femboy troony elf homosexual and do your usual ERP grfit already.
bro you're the one roleplaying at me
bro each nitra is 1 credit and xp!
I had this happen to me once but with morkite
i am fine if people can mine all the gold or nitra they want
morkite is where i draw the though, i am quite sure you don't get bonus bucks/exp for bringing in more morkite past the quota
I didn't really enjoy Scout until they added the crossbow. Once I got the Cryobolts OC, suddenly the Scout's biggest weakness, swarms, was much less of an issue, and I felt much more independent and capable either in groups or solo. Combine it with Bullets of Mercy and you're cooking with gas.
what kills the game is that there's no end game after playing for 500 hours, would be fun if you could unlock a multi-class dwarf
Just give the stubby the same electric effect that electric reload/electrifying focus shots have
fixed the gun
This game is the complete opposite of VT2 where the devs are great but the gameplay is just an absolute snooze fest.
Threadly reminder that the developer was bought out by Embracer Group and then the update model immediately shifted to the seasonal model and it's been downhill ever since.
>all of the content is still free
>the dlcs are nothing but ugly cosmetics
>seasonal battlepass shit all just rolls into the normal loot pool from chests and last backpacks so there is no FOMO shit

Free Updates that downgrade a game I Paid for are a bad thing.
>downgrade
Robots are bad. Rockpox are bad. Nobody likes them except the contrarian thread autist who will surely reply here.
Go into any lithophage game and watch as all the dwarves pretend the spikes don't exist and just wait for someone to crack and start foaming them because they're annoying antifun.
I like fighting rockpox mobs
I don't like spraying walls with foam
I also don't like spraying a floating rock with foam
oh you're just a moron
don't care
I will continue playing because I like video game
>It's popular so now it's bad
Nearly a decade yet this site never changes, beautiful
I played it for an hour and didn't like it. I played solo so maybe that's why.
What is the point of nayaka trawlers? I swear I have never seen them attack. They just flop around like morons.
So do scouts and you don't see anyone complaining
allow me to be the first
No, they lazy ass Danish devs killed it. 2 seasons (a full year) of middling updates when they used to crank out consistent content every 3 months is just pure laziness. Unless they have a sequel in the works or something, which if that's the case they should just announce that so people stop hoping for new weapons/overclocks/biomes/mission types. The game's still good though, and I'm glad the devs had success.
>the dwarves now talk like zoomer soiboys
>add more weapons that are only viable with certain overclocks
>add more enemy types instead of different missions
snooze
>get bought
>start season shit

lmao pottery
It's over.
>join local server with chinese characters
>must be a shitposter?
>nope, 400ms ping
so, a chink using a vpn? if so, why?
there must be lots of chinese players as in any fricking game I play
>if so, why?
why do you think?
Because Bugmen just do not care. They also don't want to play with themselves because they all suck. Also sometimes they just leave their VPNs on because greatest country in the world or something. That's the more likely reason. For some reason they base distance on whatever the IP suggests, not the ping. So a host with 300 ping that's in America will still read as "close" to me. They also always seem to have some hacks on. Instant depositing and fast revival are two I see a lot.
Game isn't dead but deep rock threads are pretty insufferable.
i just started playing, any beginner tips? will people sperg out much if i join their games?
learn to r and use your pointer
Tips from a greybeard who has 300 hours into the game
-Always start any new cave looking up, last thing you want is to get caught by a Cave Leech
-Learn your class' strengths and weaknesses
-In big groups, don't hog the supply drops
-Use your surroundings, learn to bottleneck the swarms so you don't get overwhelmed
Pretty much every random I've come across since S4 dropped have room temp IQ, so as long as yours is higher than that you'll be carrying people if anything.
As long as you're in haz 3 or lower until you learn the basics, I doubt anyone is going to get pissy.
Don't do Haz4 until you have a firm grasp of the basics and can handle yourself in a swarm.
play gunner if you're just starting off: watch what each classes do
short tips
>use ctrl
>battle buddy system: always maintain LOS with your battle buddy
>always upgrade your armor to max, it grants +10HP
Nah they just kept adding things that I wasn't enjoying. That's all.
the game is good overall but this whole season is super weak
>new frameworks is just default plus aids slapped on after the already boring as hell milspec gear
>new boss that never spawns
>new power up (singular) that never spawns and is literally just flappy bird instead of something unique
>meteors still spawn at least every other mission
>janny objective not its own mission
>new enemies are great but the stingtail not only still bugs out but is now nerfed to shit
cant believe im saying this but you are kinda right
they are going the way of the popular indie dev where they just get lazy and shitty while content just screeches to a halt and they let modders make the main content or their fanbase rabidly defends the game
>minecraft gets big, cant even put fireflies in the game now
>factorio gets big, constant price increases with literally zero new content
>rimworld gets big, basically just paid mods now from what ive heard
i hope they rectify this in season 5 but its not looking good imo, game is reaching its peak in popularity and i think they know that
no it’s just boring
it feels like I’m literally having to do a job playing this game mining rocks and killing braindead bugs that walk in a line towards you
tried it on a free weekend, saw a covid mask in the battle pass and laughed
realized it’s just a bugman redditcore game people play for cosmetics then uninstalled
>game comes out
>Ganker loves it
>it becomes popular
>Ganker suddenly hates it
every single time
>a Ganker meme with original drawings instead of wojak edits
wtf
I love drawing, I just wish our draw gay threads weren't filled with bots and Gartic Phone threads weren't only on Fridays.
How about you draw yourself a job next, champ? Heh
I do both, hence why I can't make friday Gartic Phone threads.
>t. Botgay
>I just wish our draw gay threads weren't filled with bots
Blame mods for deleting non-bot art threads. I used to see threads with tons of art.
>game gets frequent updates
>Ganker loves it
>it stops getting updates/updates start being shit
>Ganker suddenly hates it
Wow, what a concept.
cope more sped
ywnbaw
The game got a ton of updates up to 1.0 and their promise was that they'd "keep supporting it even after release". I would consider DRG a completely finished game and anything added after 1.0 is just extra. I've played too many games that just aren't complete and devs never finish them or games that are supposed to continue getting updates in the same way DRG has but just don't due to the devs getting lazy or shifting most of their team to another game.
I paid for the game once and they've updated it dozens of times since then. It's been finished for over 3 years; all the stuff they've added since then has been what I'd consider "free extras".
I hate bad updates and love good updates.
Wrong, it was shit from the start
I dont tell people I play this game anymore, not out of shame but because I like being left alone. Seems like a cosy game on console so I can only imagine how bad the PC side of things are
I got piss drunk one weekend and played this with friends and then forgot about it, you're homosexual e-celeb influencers picking it up had nothing to do with me not playing it anymore OP. Was pretty fun though from what I remember
>turrents not keeping build progress
>breach cutter's electricity and plasma trail not working
did they break engie or something recently, or did I join some fricked up lobby?
>Turrents
What skull frick American public school did you go to? It's "TURRET!"
>tiny update today breaks all my mods that were working before and crashes me multiple times
>disable mods and restart
I don't care how much of a whiner I sound like but I do not find the game to even be playable without the automatic sprint mod.
always run needs to implemented, as well as no mission control audio ducking, holy frick its so annoying. full MC disable when!?
>"hello miners we noticed you enjoyed swinging pickaxes, repairing industrial machinery and pumping out oil ehhrr i mean morkite"
>"now take that vacuum cleaner and do the job you fricking janny"
At least robots were somewhat ok. Have a feeling that yeah they have no more ideas
The new update fricked the netcode and now I'm sometimes just teleporting a few meters
>Realize that haz 5 is identical to haz 4 except for bug movement speed and your fear disappears
Bug damage, projectile speed and health also go up, even more so than from Hazard 3 to 4, however you need the same set of skills you need to survive hazard 4 as hazard 5 so when it comes to what it feels like once you master Haz 4 you're already good at the game and will have less of an issue jumping into Haz 5
bugs moving faster is the scariest part about haz 5. all the other dangers like friendly fire and fall damage stem from that amplified pressure.
Is progress resetting on turrets and pipes and shit a new feature or a bug?
>Fixed usable bar sticking around after someone cancels reviving you
>same patch makes all buildables (pipelines, salvage crap, bet-c...) undo their progress if you stop holding E
Hmmmm
it also applies to turrets and the uplink and fuel cells. I just did a salvage mission as engie. it was painful
>it's another "Season 4 is just Season 3b" episode
I unironically dropped the game because of this
They just don't give a frick
What is this game about and can I play it solo if I have no friends
Season pass + Janny objectives killed the game.
https://mod.io/g/drg/m/only-bugs-no-content
here u go bro
Doesn't fix shit, but it's a start.
Is it me or is scout just not fun?
Are you using full brightness mods? Or is your monitor full brightness? It's borderline impossible to host a lobby and pick anything but scout, because random shitters won't use lights.
I'm not using any mods.
I just throw a glowstick if I need to light shit up.
Hoverclock+bouncing bolts
now tell me Scout isn't fun
It's not, the other classes are so much better.
Because it's fun
Scout sucks but the new overclock tweaks helped a little.
doesn't kill bugs in a bug-killing game, yeah he's a chore
IMO hoverclock + special powder scout is some of the most fun you can possibly have in DRG.
It's just you, scout with the TF2 Force of Nature overclock on the shotgun is the most fun you can have in this game.
scout is only for people that wish every game has a ranked elo system
Scout is fun if you know what you're doing.
game isn't dead, but I wish this update had more then what it currently has
A perk re-balance has been needed for years now
>can now play the VR mod online with randoms through the server list
god bless modders
anyone else really enjoying this game in VR?
>>can now play the VR mod online with randoms through the server list
>god bless modders
>anyone else really enjoying this game in VR?
god i wish that were me and you
>another mini-update out
Doing the same 5 missions in the same 8 biomes killed the game.
thats not l4d2
>update makes the sprint by default mod crash the game whenever you interact with things
They took my fricking legs
dev updated it today, best to go to the mod page and read the desc on how to help him
I just want a new fricking biome and new fricking mission
Please god.
Poor assburger, his turrets suck
they should buff or rework hawkeye system
Mk2 as well, there’s no reason not to take Gemini defender
Ill give credit where credit is due, the new song is fricking awesome, and fits really well.
>develop game under no strict time constraints, have time to polish content and iron out all the bugs, extra time in early access
>as game gets bigger it becomes exponentially harder to maintain, especially the codebase as it starts to turn into a clusterfrick or/and demand exponentially more time to work on
>gays complain about no content, when there is a content gays complain about 'low quality'
>gays play and buy shit anyway
The story of many games, this is on top of DRG running on UE a notorious piece of shit maintaining wise. You ether get semi frequent medium quality content or rare higher quality one and the bigger the game the harder it to add shit without nuking all that you build code and gameplay wise. When you take the second route you get no updates for over a year like Vrising even if the next one is big and keeps the high quality so p000mp eeet.
I've seen more people come back to the game recently than in all previous seasons combined. The whining about it here is hilarious.
the game is getting more popular, and its not like its getting *worse*, so theres still a reason for old games to come back
but that doesnt mean that the new content & the game's increasing stability problems, performance issues, bugs that are left for years, etc cant be criticized
works on my machine
they should make new overclocks for the original weapons.
The newer ones just have much more unique and fun ocs that actually change how the gun works
>strongest haz2 player
I joined a drilldozer mission and the tunnels were still sealed in everyones pc. Only the host could see the old drilldozer tunnels. Never seen this bug before gg dead game devs don't care
joining in-progress escort is a mess in general. if it drops you in dotty's path you just spawn under the map and fall to your death
Bros, I've been running bullet hell and having fun
But my ammo expenditure is through the roof even with the ammo mod, Mole isn't cutting it for general use purposes due to the charge time and single shot nature, even if it is fun to delete priority targets from 2 caves over. What's a good compliment to the silly bouncy tickle gun?
>ammo mod
dont do it, take damage because it boosts your ammo efficiency very similary
>what is a good compliment
Cryo cannon.
Just think of it
>bullet hell deals LSLS tier damage output on average, except without the ability to shoot weakpoints properly
>freeze makes you not need weakpoints
Of course, theres a way to fix this : having YET ANOTHER synergy with another player, volatile bullets
>volatile bullets
ridiculous damage against burning targets
>>more ammo efficiency than all other gunner single target secondaries
>>only a small base damage reduction
But you wont be able to ignite shit at a range, because bullet hell. So ideally you have another player with ranged ignition
i cant fit another player in my second back pocket
run Composite Casings BRT, i guess
Experimental Rounds BRT
Packs enough of a punch to put the hurt on big bugs while being efficient enough that it wont bankrupt your ammo supply when you need it for small/ medium shit
>Deeprock threads used to be really comfy
>Anons full of hope at the future of the game
>The memes and jokes hadn't gotten old yet
>Everyone sharing deepdive knowledge and gun builds
I miss it, bros
At this point it's two groups: people who genuinely have a hateboner for the game and people who will post the same bait every time to bump the threads, thinking they can't survive naturally. Both should be lobotomized.
It was inevitable that once popularity increased we'd get more shitposters, happened in every niche game that gained popularity, this one wouldn't be any different
it's just all the Ganker teenagers that are perpetually angry about everything
Yea the updates have been losing steam but at least the game is not ruined *cough*kf2*cough*. If they can give me one final update with tower defense mission I will not complain
game is 6 years old already
Yeah I'm sure mainstreamization is the reason they decided to double down on space aids, added no new weapon, only reworked like 5 overclocks and gave the subata a little buff after 6 months of rockaids.
I play the game solo 99% of the time. And when I do play co-op it's with people I know IRL who aren't reddit/discord trannies.
That seems like the optimal way to play.
only shitters mine gold
I'm still fine with the seasonal model. I guess it comes down to whether you think the seasonal theme is cool or not.
In the launch stream they did for season 4 it sounded like they're the most enthusiastic about a archeological themed addition to the game and that they stuck with rockpox just because they had more ideas they wanted to run with. So maybe season 5 will be relics or something like that.
Honestly they just need to focus on additions for core gameplay next season, rather than something limited:
>Way more room generation/tilesets
>More mission modifiers
>More overclocks for existing weapons, should be much easier than actually making weapons
>Some kind of daily random mission where you cant see the zone, modifiers, etc until you run it but its different for each host
>If they're feeling bold maybe a new biome
both reddit nuke and 250 are now useless because infected exploders and spitters exist and after spinning death was made not shit
breach cutter is mandatory on infected missions and still best in slot on normal ones, nice job danes making cutter BiS again after trying to avoid that for year+
Its a great game, but devs have been slacking. Might be corporate spreading staff thin after being bought up.
Woke devs and zoomers killed it first
https://voca.ro/1npKNxuMvyJZ
finally found one
I just realized that the "BAT" on the shard diffractor doesn't actually show an accurate percentage for overall ammo...
Yeah it isnt counting the ammo in the current charge
>finally find one
>game crashes
Is this new? It's a supply pod that when repaired spawns 2 supplies.
that's a bug, report it to the devs
nope, just rare
No? You always got a buried supply pod in salvage missions with random ammo
no you could always find them in a salvage misson
It's been in the game for a long time, we used to have way less nitra spawns in the game and these were for emergency situations
Devs eventually moved away from nitra scarcity but these are kept in the game
less nitra should unironically be a mission modifier
cant remember the last time I struggled with ammo
It's only in salvage op missions and I've only seen 1, although I don't actively go searching for them so I might have missed a ton
Protip for locating them: check your map, they still left a hole from when they were sent down from space.
There's 1 guaranteed in each salvage mission
>guaranteed
Pretty sure it's not
I've seen one pretty much every time
Usually it's in the tunnel leading to the big cave with the mules which is kind of useless unless you remember that it's there afterward
I was going to say that the wiki says it's only a chance for them to spawn, but after actually reading it, it's a chance for 2 broken ones spawning in 1 mission, so I guess you're right
More often than not there's just like an inch of the corner showing through the ground.
It's guaranteed
250 hours and saw my first one so I must be blind then
I guess so lmao. They are guaranteed 1 every salvage mission no matter what. As another anon mentioned you can find then with the terrain scanner because the verticle tunnel they dropped in from is still there
Rocket boots are fun and they should be an available permanent upgrade, along with other non class specific equipment.
It should be an available anomaly, call it "Jet Boots testing site"
They'll most likely add another power up box in each update going forward
I can see them adding shit like exploding flares, a ground pound, overcharged pick axe etc
>overcharged pick axe
What would be the point of berserk?
They said they are reworking the entire perk system eventually
Surely
I believe it, I have around 200 perk points after getting everything and they said that it's an unideal system that functioned how it needed for a bit
My guess is that they will add pickaxe and armor overclocks from a lot of the perks and just toss out perks entirely, make perk points into achievement points give you phazyonite
>eventually
read: stop asking us about it
I mean, they admitted they don't want to do new weapons for awhile, next update being the perk overhaul makes sense
to show how fricking moronic and asinine devs are
works on muh sheen, get a keyboard that's not dogshit
yeah frick team cohesion and traversal tools being a major element of balance
I don't think its that bad.
only shows up in 10% of your missions and has a long recharge/cooldown
It's not like jump boots
please learn how to read reply chains moron-kun
oops
Recognizing the game as flappy bird instead of helicopter outs you as a zoomer
anybody else getting a bug where the game just goes "nah u arent holding e fricking idiot, try again"?
Just make some big paid expansion instead of those shitty support packs. That last one is so fricking ugly i genuinely thought it was some elaborate season prank.
