I'm almost halfway through the game and I honestly still don't know what some of the Heroes are good for.
Based on my experience so far, my take is that:
>Rangers are good for scouting and dying outside of my spell range.
>Rogues are Rangers that follow gold rather than an inherent spirit of exploration, but if you don't pay they are cowardly.
>Warriors are just damage sponges.
>Wizards take a great amount of micromanagement because they die to everything initially, but get overpowered later, but then the best ones just wander off and die on their own anyway.
>Krom gives you Barbarians, which are based and redpilled and honestly it's the only Temple that I used often enough to remember what it does.
When do I use the other temples and why?
Is there something like a Tier List of units, how good they are in combat? Just if you don't look at the price, if you want the best Heroes, quality not quantity, what are their rankings?
And should I install this midway through? I feel like I'm familiar enough with the base game.

Spells are a big part of it, helping your heroes (especially wizards) with support magic is massively useful. Going with either of the other temple routes will also give you a revive spell which is nice to have when your high level heroes eat dirt.
One set of temples gives you healers and paladins who are almost impossible to kill + some OP spell combos, on the other you get units that summon tons of beasts and skeletons (the latter are almost immune to ranged units - including dragons!) but meh spells. You pick one over the other depending on what you're fighting against. Helia provides a good units but crap spells and with Lunord it's the other way round.
Dwarves are the best defensive against magic fighter class. (vampires and dragons).
The northern expansion missions already add things and becomes a lot harder
Rogues are also nice because how they loot graves of dead monsters and heroes. This allows you to scoop taxable income out of both
Warriors of Discord are utterly horrible in base but get better in the northern expansion
Krypta priestesses are necromancers who will make ungodly numbers of skeletons that have huge dodge against ranged attacks so a single one can slay a dragon
Fervus dudes charm animals and turn themselves into bears that throw daggers at people
I dont like monks
Healers are good because they have some sort of additional lives system as they get levels
Paladins are just really really capable all around
Helia's girls are like discount paladins that have some offensive magic
Lunords runners are more defense oriented but patrol like crazy and his spells are better
Gnomes are actually good for being a paid super builder
Dwarves for towers and sturdy fighters
Elf passive gold income on markets is broken especially when combined with Krolm
Worst to best:
>Rogue
>Gnome
>Cultist
>Discord Warrior
>Ranger
>Warrior
>Barbarian
>Wizard
>Elf
>Dwarf
>Priestess
>Adept
>Healer
>Monk
>Paladin
>Solarii
With all missions in mind btw
Barb plus elf with mashing KROLM KROLM is enough to steamroll like half the time
>rogues and cultists this low
>monks and adepts this high
>warriors and dwarves being above anyone
I agree with the wizards being in the middle like the wildcard they are. They either grow to b***hslap everything out of the way or fail to take ten steps without dying.
Cultists are much more useful than monks at high level.
Sounds similar to this one

>Healer above Wizard
Delusional
Healer is great though. Obviously if the tier list was "which hero would win in a 1v1 if they were all level 10" Wizard would be near or at the top, but most of them just die. Meanwhile Healers are really good at staying alive and keeping your paladins and monks alive.
Dauros+Agrela is too fricking strong
The Healers make sure no one fricking dies and thus people actually grow beyond lvl3 and eventually become proper fricking fighters
A lot less baby sitting
Going Fervus/Krypta or Krolm instead just makes you groan when ever noob adventurer eats shit and cant train up unless you get like three fairgrounds or something
>Dauros+Agrela is too fricking strong
So should I build that whenever I can?
It's either that or Krolm really if you wanna win
unless it a dragon map, then krypta skeleton army would be better
Cultists are great when they hit bear mode, and can get there pretty easily because they learn camouflage. Plus they can charm for meatshields
Monks are strong in combat, but tend to jack off in guild harder than mages.
The trick is to make the Dauros temple far away in frontier, so monsters become attracted to it, take a bite, and make all the monks come out like angry bees.
Fervus+Krypta are stress free because you need far less adventurers to patrol the city, since its flooded with skeletons and rats.
Skellies also share XP with owner, so priestesses VERY quickly level once at least one skelly is spawned.
Additionally you can train mages by spawning skellies on them.
>discord
Go back.
>the two strongest units in the game are two empowered womyn
Empowered by God.
I dont think barbarians are FtMs
What makes Barbarians the strongest?
The button
>cheap
>good stats
>come in big cap after expac
>KROLM! KROLM!!!
Interesting, I also used Barbarians in that scenario.
Unwashed hordes are useful for fighting against unwashed hordes
Similar to the Serpent mission where Barbarians are also really good
Which hero is the strongest if you do everything possible to micromanage and keep them alive? Do women still destroy men?
Holy tiny penis moment you have already been answered. Krolm just beats eveyone with his phallus if you have enough money
That's a dumb answer, because I can just use the money on dmg spells and beat any other hero in 1v1 like that, or with support spells against spell immune creatures. I want like the best hero who rewards me with never dying and always being useful after I take care of the hero from baby steps until level X.
Wizards are pathetically weak early on but later they nuke most foes easily. They're perfect for your weird nurturing thing. Aggroed vampires hard counter them though.
I kinda like WoDs myself. Since they have a big health pool so you can cast a healing spell every now and then and make it work. Too bad Fervus-Krypta have rather lame spells compared to their counterparts.
My problem with healing spells is that it happens too often that I click it by accident on the enemy. Wish there was another way to target spells, like maybe click it on the hero's portrait.
Is this some elaborate troll attempt? You literally CAN cast spells using portraits.
I basically agree. Wizards are pretty shit tbh, they are such a liability on heavy aggro maps I would rate them lower. Although they are important on the very hardest maps due to their insane dps.
Pretty much completely agree though.
What is the best hero ranking if you consider high levels? Like 20? Or 50?
I would like to think Wizard but the Warrior/Wizard/Ranger? you got in the final mission of the original game all died rather easily despite being 50.
Healers probably, they can learn spells fairly consistently and get extra lives. whenever they gang up on stuff they also heal each other.
>And should I install this midway through? I feel like I'm familiar enough with the base game.
I have the game on GOG (not pirated) how do I install this mod & will it ruin my saves?
Thats why you read the manual, it is an old game, there werent many tutorials or in game hints at the time
>On maps that have multiple medusae or dryads it is not a good idea to use many wizards as monsters with high resistances can easily kill wizards.
Look up Dryad stats:
>Resistance: Poor (30)
What gives? Or are Dryads good against Wizards because they tempt them into losing their virginity, and therefore their magical powers?
Love this game.
Temple of Dauros is great. Paladins are insanely good
It's really weird how creatures who get barely damaged by lightning bolt get completely obliterated by the area of effect version of it.
Just print out the manual
I'MMMM MELLLLTTTTINNNG
>Go Krypta+Fervus
>Spam Animate Dead on everything you own
>Let the cultists possess every animal that appears on the map
>Go AFK for 10 minutes
>Come back to the entire kingdom being clogged with disposable minions
I will never surrender my Chaos friends
More SP-heavy strategy games should have these randomly generated campaign scenario maps. The demo alone provided a ton of replayability. It also had a kind of unusual enemy creature composition.
Really needs a better pause button than Esc, since there are no build shortcuts AoE style.
A walkthrough recommend slowing the game speed to minimum as a workaround.
one of the few things majesty 2 did better was integrate game speed controls in the interface
I like gnomes the most because they help you build things early. I never noticed elves being beneficial and dwarves are just too late.
Elves and dwarves are more about their buildings than themselves
Casinos can give you infinite money if you're scummy about it and ballista towers are decently strong
Gnomes lift everyone else up
>Gnomes lift everyone else up
Powerful!
>I never noticed elves being beneficial
The bonus from elves is passive and applies i think only to markets, however it is a very large bonus indeed. Game tries to counterbalance market spam by making each consecutive one build cost far more, but if you have elves and like 3 markets that are on their way to getting upgraded you'll start drowning in money hard
Thats why Krolm+Elf is an op combo, you reach this point where its possible to spam his global spell almost permanently since the cooldown is roughly equal to its duration. So all the barbarians and other heroes are juiced up to high hell and just maul the shit out of all opposition
Are Gnomes really overpowered when they reach higher levels compared to other heroes or is that just a joke?
When they hit level 8 they become Gnome Champions, which are almost as strong as Paladins, but the real trick is leveling them even further because their Dodge stat was already high as a regular Gnome and scales even higher the further you go, meaning eventually they become really good tanks.
It's just a matter of getting them that far, because even the luckiest Gnome that manages to dodge every attack is still a coward.
Gnome Champions are actually top tier, like high level Warrior strong. Not *overpowered* but legit strong. Unfortunately maps that last long enough for that to matter, you would benefit from Elves a lot more.
I really wish there was a spiritual successor/remake of this. Same basic concepts just
>UI improvements
>heroes can carry over between missions (with some balance, like it costs extra to hire them again when they're higher level)
>a greater impact for completing missions, like there's maybe some sort of lasting benefit for completing one mission before you move on to the next one, maybe making another gameplay level on the grand map ala Dark Crusade
I'd like those.
If I were making a Majesty successor I'd also have
>Heroes can form parties and get bonuses for working together over time
>Heroes (and parties) can enter dungeons so they aren't standing outside whacking them to death
>When you mouse over those dungeons you get a little window showing them making progress, fighting monsters, springing traps, finding treasure, etc.,
>Non-religious heroes can become religious and get appropriate bonuses, and interact with other heroes and religions differently
>Non-human heroes can take on certain classes and have hybrid classes, like Elf Rogues or Gnome Wizards
>Heroes can be raised from the dead as skeletons, zombies and vampires, either by you or enemies
>Gear that Heroes find or buy shows up on their model
>Seasons, day and night cycles, weather effects, all that affect gameplay
And other stuff.
I want a UI that explains what's going on with units, enemy or otherwise
Majesty 2 had all of this.
But at what cost?
Being published by Paradox
But doesn't a lot of other things suck?
Spamming priestesses got you a massive meat-shield army of skeletons. I think they also come back from the dead if they die and are high level enough but I don't know for certain. I remember abusing the crap out of them to cheese one of the harder levels.
I fricking love majesty
but the base game (before you get to the dlc missions) has different balancing and some of it is bad.
I can't remember many specific details but I believe as an example Krolm gets buffed in the dlc so each of his temples can have 6 barbarians instead of 4 but I might be misremembering it's been a while.
I believe all the heroes are viable (in the dlc) in specific circumstances.
Chaos
Warriors of discord are an exception for me. they just seem to die without doing anything so I rarely build them. I never liked cultists as much more than cheap fodder. krypta is REALLY good against dragons and you should spam priestesses against them so you can see what I mean.
Order
Dauros if I remember right is mainly economic and to unlock paladins which are the tankiest hero in the game. monks are probably the worst hero in the game for the amount of investment you have to put in them but at least they're tough so your recruit money usually is not wasted. Agrela is self explanatory. I should say that the obvious synergy is healers+paladins.
The Sun/moon divide
I usually pick the sun god over the moon god but both have their uses. Moon god gives you some really good mobility if I remember right but the sun warriors or whatever they are called fricking slap, probably some of the highest damage in the game after the wizard of course. I don't know if their fire magic counts as melee or spell damage but whatever it is when combined with their melee attacks it murders everything.
The "Others"
Gnomes are great if you have a plan to rush up the tech tree, I don't think they count towards your hero totals for upgrading the castle though so keep that in mind.
Dwarves are mostly for the ballista towers but the dwarf hero is okay.
Elves only exist so you can cheese the game with save scum+gambling hall and have all your heroes loaf about in havens instead of paying their taxes. the elf hero is also rather sub par if I remember right.
>the elf hero is also rather sub par if I remember right
Nah they're ackshually p. good. They're fast as frick and have the best ranged stat as "archers" but a bit of a glass cannon compared to Rangers due to low hp but still better than rogues because they can wear chainmail and have the same hp. They're better than Rogues in *ranged* combat in p. much every respect and are just as greedy and can be motivated by ~~*monetary*~~ rewards to do anything. I use Elves a lot mainly for their economic benefits and I'm quite pleased with the ranged support they can provide.
If you play as Daurosgay, elves are quite good since their heroes don't go to their services.
I got this for 5$ on mobile
great game
Like the actual game or a Chinese rip off? How do you even play an RTS on phone.
Not that Anon, but I think it's an official original Android version. Not the same as the PC one.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.herocraft.game.majesty&gl=US
Developed by HeroCraft Ltd., so outsourced to Russians.
Doesn't seem legit to me at all (and it looks like crap, too), especially since other games they made employ similar forms of mimicry. They likely only changed some things to make it less susceptible to getting sued.
Wikipedia says it's legit.
>Mobile "Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim" is developed and published by HeroCraft and released on January 20, 2011. The game is designed to run on BlackBerry Playbook, iOS, Android, Bada and high-end Nokia Symbian devices.[17] An iOS version is also available for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.[2] The game is also available on Microsoft's Windows Phone platform as of March 2012.[18]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majesty:_The_Fantasy_Kingdom_Sim
yeah it was a legit release, they got the license from paradox. they were going to do a hearts of iron mobile game too but it got canned
Mobile version is great. Its essentially dumbed down version of main game with less temples and spells but its still a lot of fun. The game plays very well with mobile controls and art style is good too.
So how do you play an RTS on phone?
You tap instead of clicking, not very difficult.
Why do the Wizards say Al'Durazak?
maybe it's like zanzibart forgive me
Aren't Barbarians and Discord warriors kinda the same?
warriors of discord are much slower, slightly stupider, and a lot less squishy due to superior hitpoints and ability to wear armor. they also get the ability to attack multiple foes at level 3. barbarians have superior burst damage at higher levels due to higher critical chance and rage of krolm,
not even close
The rogues themselves are pretty terrible
But their Guildhall is great
It gives your heroes poisoned weapons and let's you auto collect all the tax in your kingdom
Is the Franchise dead?
It appears so. Interestingly enough there were some other games set in the same universe: Impire and Warlock 1&2, whatever those are.
>Warlock 1&2
Fantasy Civ meets HoMM-ish
one dude made a massive overhaul mod for 2 that was pretty damn great, Renaissance
Have you taken the Gnomepill yet?
>cheap workers
>give a huge economic bonus
>build masses of inns everywhere
>constant reliable cash
>big opportunity cost if you decide to go for Elves of Dwarves
>Elves actively make your Heroes worse by making them waste time in inns and brothels
>Dwarves are too late to do anything useful
Elves can make me crazy money, allowing me to spam Rage of KROOOOOOLM with barbs to GRUGSMASH the map with all those Elves at hand readily providing top-notch ranged support behind their back. Rage + Rewards bypass most issues with heroes wasting time in brothels/casinos (highly money-motivated hero types can be easily enticed with rewards anyway). ~~*Elves*~~ themsElves are also excellent ranged damage dealers (I already have workers, I don't need shitty shtetlscum Ostjudegnomes for that) and also maximally money-motivated (better in combat than Rogues for ranged dps and just as enticeable).
You can set a reward on any and all of these establishments. Rogues and elves will demolish them in a heartbeat, just disable the repairs on them.
There's a whole campaign mission dedicated to this idea, too.
Can you go back to your full end game statistics/analysis without reloading a save near the end?
There is a records/top score page but I'm not sure how precise it is
It's really weird how so many of its concepts were so advanced and never implemented again.
Just started playing the game and wow it's easy as frick
Wait until you get to the expansion content and post again
I tried some mobile RTSes and it's pretty lousy.
Majesty never was an RTS though, (it's a 'fantasy kingdom sim') and a lot of things happen on their own so who knows, maybe it's not so bad?
There are no building shortcuts so you need crazy APM if you ask me.
Open menu and slow it down (yea its annoying but i didnt design the game)
Weren't all early "high quality 3D CG graphics" RTS like that though? Looks just like Spellforce to me.
>spellforce 1 - 2003
>spellforce 2 - 2006
>majesty 2 - 2009
The fact you think it looks like SF only further proves how shit M2 looks
Can I see the greediness/bravery in game?
>greediness
Just check your hero's nose size.
some of em wear helmets or facemasks though
Weird how sometimes there are just random warriors from discord on the map. Like in Free the Slaves, I didn't notice any heroes in the beginning but apparently there are some.
Ah right, they were the freed slaves.
Considering the outfit of the average warrior of discord he was obviously organizing some sort of gay bdsm club
What does this thing even do with slaves? It's got no crib to clean.
>nobody wants to fight it even if I raise the bounty to 10k gold
Buncha pussies.
majesty gives some canonical reasons:
> its mom helia banished it to the netherworld because it hates light and it relieves its suffering by torturing lesser creatures
> the crucified slaves are a warning to others
> the slave pits recreate its nether realm in ardania
> it's rumored to draw strength from the suffering it inflicts
Damn, where is this all from? I read all the popups during the game and all they told me is just about some queen giving me money before she got gangbanged by goblins or something.
https://archive.org/details/Majesty_Prima_Official_eGuide
this is a really good read if you're a majesty junky
>Krolm raged so hard his rage created life
Talk about hardcore beginnings...
See that question mark near the portrait? Press it and receive some fluff about the creature/hero/building you chose.
3 dicks and 6 balls
I just don't do temples because I can't remember which is which. Gnomes are all I need for happiness.
Honestly, are the guards even worth it? I make guardhouses all over but I always see them lose to even the lowliest ratkin.
veterans are ok, they can pull agro from heroes and the guardhouse itself is both a defense tower and a drop off point for taxes.
the guard houses are more worth it for the tax collector drop off, otherwise they are kind of supplemental, if you have a load of heroes particularly ranged heroes guards do provide a meat shield when placed properly
I mostly use them as early fillers so i don't get sewers spawning right on top of my markets.
Even if the guards get easily rolled they still make for a good distraction from more important targets.
Any consequences for using Reanimate?
Why my ballistae aren't shooting
>Destroyed the tomb of dragon king
>Game still going on
>No victory screen yet
Reloaded. Here's the rubble. Victory screen... nowhere to see. Maybe I need to first kill all the dragons, then do the tomb?
>3rd try
>and still nothing after destroying it
rip
I guess the only thing left is to do everything from the start but holy frick this mission was hard and took 40-50 days
>redo from scratch
>still nothing
Guess this mission... will be my Tomb.
goddammit carlos
anyway, anon, I recently beat the game and never had issue with this stage, really don't know what is going on and how to help.
I'll go and will try beatin' it right now
dunno anon what's going on with your copy of the game, works fine in HD steam version.
you just defeat 3 lairs, then defeat dragon tomb which appears and right after that you should get win message
Maybe it's because I am using the mod that allows the expansion stuff in the original missions.
try without it
Do you on the off chance have the save game from
?
I mean I have every quest cleared in my save file, so if you use it you'll have all quests beaten.
Or you mean save game from the quest during the game? No, only time I used save game was for that damn stage later on which is hard to win without savescumming
>When do I use the other temples and why?
Because the temples unlock the more powerful warriors for your Warriors Guild (Paladins for Dauros and Warriors of Discord for Fervus). Also apart of their own sets of spells, the priests and cultists are useful.
Crypta and Fervus are best for if you want whole armies of skeletons and beasts.
Dauros and Agrela for when you want to tank stuff and want your other heroes to live longer.
If you don't want any set of the two, then simply go Krolm and keep raging.
On Wizard's Curse, and on The Bell, the Book and the Candle, there is a special filled icon in the top left, next to the name. For other missions (completed or not) it's just an empty black circle. Is there any significance to it?
Ive thought you get an icon for each mission up there but could be misremembering it
>Wow, the ring is right there next to me? What an easy missi--
And the funniest thing is that I was so nice to them, like I build a guardhouse around their inn and protected it from the creeps.
Weird that Helia would work with necromancers
well, Krypta's still her sister, so
why? goddess of the sun, not life/light
Spell tier list:
>S
Invisibility, Lightning Storm, Vines, Petrify
>A
Resurrection, Healing (Agrela), Animate Bones, Wind Storm
>B
Wither, Winged Feet, Blessing, Stone Skin, Vigilance
>C
Fire Strike, Sun Scorch
>D
Reanimate, Healing (Fervus), Lightning Bolt, Anti-Magic Shield, Farseeing
>F
Illusionary Hero, Super Charge
Reading this madw me realize i didnt use almost any of these when going through the game 2 years back
Blessing is super cheap for the hefty survivability boost it provides and combined with Vigilance lets non-magic heroes attack twice as fast. Perfect for when you think your paladins aren't op enough.
Doesn't Invisibility last only a few seconds? I remember being disappointed with it and not using it at all. Being tied to the Wizards Guild's range doesn't help. Why an S tier, then - does it help deaggro mobs from the tax collector at least?
Yeah invis deaggros
Is there any place on the internet that describes the damage difference between Lighting Bolt/Storm and Fire Strike/Sun Scorch?
Bolt does a bit of damage once, Storm does a lot of damage over a few seconds
bolt can be used against buildings but storm is a powerful AoE effect that lingers and can kill many monsters/heros at once
>warriors only
ew
that limitation goes away once you find the temple to fervus out in the wilderness
So statues effectively do nothing in sp, right?
You can clog holes that can potentially spawn sewers with them.
Yes, I learned that too late. I thought "loyalty? that sounds important!".
I thought they counted towards that beautification mechanic that spawns fountains (those provide an extra tax collector). I checked in the manual and it says nothing of the sort so yeah - it's for loyalty in multiplayer.
Speaking of manuals, don't you guys miss them? Modern games hardly ever have those. When I wasn't playing, I would read the crap out of this booklet for the tips and lore.
https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/25990/manuals/Majesty_Manual_HD.pdf?t=1447352469
Any good setups for custom game mode, for somewhere between intermediate and advanced skill level, bonus for settings that let me play around with the special heroes and the map last awhile without being able too clear it with rangers and warriors , healers alone.
So basically, the Helia spells are shit?
Not them but yes, compensated by Solari being good value
Is this basically the intended "final" mission for pre-expansion quests? The restrictions sound even more severe than the Witch King that I did just before this.
Not even close, keep playing. The intended final mission is near the center of the map when you add the expansion content
Also not sure why you dont have an icon in the upper left there
Oh right I totally forgot about the question mark that requires all the southern quests... but what quest am I missing? Looks to me like I completed everything. Am I blind?
Ah okay, the blue dragon is also a "southern" quest, somehow.
WHO HAS DISTURBED MY SLUMBER??
Oh the final quest is one hell of a gauntlet. You get to fight every single boss creature you slew. Including those damn phantoms, the Lich Queen, the Witch King, the two-headed cranky dragon and some more. Luckily you have access to all temples this time.
>wizard
>buys healing potions
Why
Wont he get oneshot until he's high level anyway
He doesn't know that
Has anyone actually seen non wizard heroes learn spells from the library? The generic ones everyone's supposed to be able to get
I think I saw an adept learn power shock once.
it depends on their int, if you not hire heroes until you get increase intelligence then all sorts of heroes can learn whatever at higher levels.
Are you sure? Description of the research explicitly states "wizards" whilst they do differentiate "intelligent heroes" for the generic spells
Had similar experiences. Kind of a shame, priestesses in particular could use something extra to upgrade their combat potential further if you invested in it since i dont think they benefit from blacksmith upgrades as casters. Not that they're bad because they still mass so many skeletons but feels like one of those mechanics that ends up a little half baked when it just needed some tweaking it never recieved. Sort of like how cultists plant poisonous fungus for rogues to use but if you upgrade the thieves guild it can then do that for every hero + generate revenue when they empoison their gear so it just ends up being a waste of time
Maybe vst could brainstorm a potential vanilla+ mod? We have been having Majesty threads on and off for a long time but no idea how hard it is to actually tweak the damn game
How it works is that all Adept, Barbarian, Cultist, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Monk, Priestess, Ranger, Rogue, Solarus, Warrior, Warrior of Discord heroes can learn Flame Shield and Power Shock if they have 11 intelligence.
basically what
says but the thing is going to the library is it's own action and most heroes that are not wizards or "spell casters" do not have that as a high priority action, if you don't have your library next to the market and blacksmith even heroes that could learn spells won't do it.
I mostly saw priestesses with the offensive spell. It wasn't great, given their lame recharge rate. The shield sounds useful but I haven't noticed anyone using it - perhaps because it's easy to overlook?
In any case, libraries aren't a high priority for non-wizards and when heroes do visit it, they go for the magic resistance boost.
yeah, Pretty sure monks and pallies often learn them, but going to the library isn't their highest priority.
Apparently the each new library gives more int to new heroes, I never knew that.
Huh
Know some people like monks but im not among them, but thats still interesting
I think you need 4 libraries for Warriors of Discord to have even a chance of buying healing potions, since their INT is that low
>pick the mausoleum modifier in freeplay (start the match with one that has a bunch of dead high level heroes)
>the moment the mission loads up the game audiably spawns and then instantly kills all 7 of them
What's the point of having intelligence anyway? Just smash everything with axe
t. Warrior of Discord
the discrepancy between discord warriors in the game and discord warriors in real life is hilarious
This game would be great if it had a skirmish mode worth a damn. Majesty is held up entirely by its campaign. Once you've completed it, there's no reason to ever boot the game up again.
Just install the skirmish mod then.
the what
Is there any disadvantage to destroying the casino and lounge if you don't plan on doing any gambling?
No? These buildings do nothing but waste heroes' time and money. They won't even come back when destroyed, unless you add extra elf dwellings.
as if elf needed to be any more op
You won't be able to savescum yourself to millions without a casino
No, you should also genocide the Elves.
How hard it would be to break the whole code of this game? I really wish someone would made a proper sequel, maybe about lands east of Ardania with new heroes, buldings, monsters. The advisor VA is also still around.
Antielvism doesn't belong on /vr/. Elves are Humans' greatest allies.
Good thing we're not on /vr/ then
Shalom
Shaddup
Where do they get they food from?
Rat meat, bear meat, troll meat, dryads for vitamins
In Ardania chocolate coins are the only form of legal tender, keeps the cost of minting low + acts as MRE for murderhobo heroes since thats the main source of income. Also explains why monsters are also carrying some that they drop on death, they're all keeping them in their pockets for the sake of sustenance
>keeps the cost of minting low
Unless it's mint chocolate
Uhhhh, bro?
Is high danger or low danger level good?
Literally nobody wanted to fight the Witch King so his spiders eventually destroyed everything
It's funny how everything went completely different on the second time because the first temple I found (randomly) was Helia > Lunord > Krolm (all next to each other). Won without any losses. Sadly, the non-human dwellings got all exterminated by the final dragon wave, but all the human dwellings on the borders of the maps were sufficiently protected with a myriad of ballista towers. Such a tragedy for the non-humans, such a shame that they had absolutely no protection whatsoever.
Also, what a big plot twist to reveal at the end that I was the bad guy all along..!
>Dad, why did you name my sister Brashnard's Ultimate Sphere of Power?
>Because your mother thought that Ardania needed another one
>Cool, thanks dad
>No problem, Day of Reckoning
Libraries increase hero intelligence. They do not need to visit them, the library just needs to be built (lvl1 is enough).
the stat gain follows this expression 2^(x-1) where x is the amount of an intelligence bonus you want, so:
1 library = +1 int
2 libraries = +2 int
4 libraries = +3 int
8 libraries = +4 int
16 libraries = +5 int
etc
Now, what does that mean?
It means that heroes get 'smarter' AI, they prioritize things better with higher int, they measure danger better, they fall into berserking less, they can learn spells from the library faster if their level is enough, and most important of all.
Warriors of discord with just +2 int are smart enough to buy and use equipment and potions.
That makes them not only viable, with their massive dmg and aoe they are actually comparable to paladins (as they should be)
Thus if you want to play krypta + fervus route, before you start spawning advanced heroes drop 4 libraries for a nifty +3 int bonus.
That makes WoDs actually pretty fricking good, makes Priestesses and Cultists better (both could learn spells and training at the library at high levels, but this lowers it a lot, like priestesses can learn first stuff at lvl4), and then Helia and Solarii get boosted similarily, that +3 int means they will learn spells at the library faster.
Another thing concerning the Elves.
1. If you feel you are in a pitch and have no morality, just save scum gambling. With enough money all your problems can go away thanks to lvl3 Wizard Guild.
2. Every Elf Bungalow DOUBLES (fricking x2) income from every marketplace in your realm. This is supposed to be offset by the bordello and gamblers den. Guess what, you are not forced to repair them. So switch them to never repair, drop a reward flag on it, and watch your rogues fix that problem for you.
Guard towers are for tax collectors.
Drop one near every market, smithy, and inn.
Some heroes also use Guardtowers as a base for patrolling and guarding your Realm, especially Solarii and Lunari
>
>16 libraries = +5 int
>etc
Holy shit, that's huge. So basically, all I need is to build 4 libraries and all my Warriors of Discord become geniuses?
WoD start at like 1 int so I wouldn't call them geniuses at 4 int.
They're already tanks so being smart enough to die less isn't as big of a problem for them in the first place.
>WoD start at like 1 int so I wouldn't call them geniuses at 4 int.
A library educated Discord Warrior is 4 times smarter than a normal one. Powerful.
>Holy shit, that's huge. So basically, all I need is to build 4 libraries and all my Warriors of Discord become geniuses?
whoa whoa, hold on
not geniuses.
BUT at 4 int they all know how to prioritize targets, that potions, poison, upgrades and equipment is a thing, they can join parties instead the minuscule chance that someone will follow them, and remember to use their howl.
They will never get 11 int to learn library spells but will become 10x more effective.
>geniuses
you wound need 512 libraries for WoD to be able to learn and cast library spells.
Technically possible I guess
intelligence is slightly randomized so a WoD can start with base 1-5 int. with a lucky roll you can get there with 32 libraries
Does higher int also increase the chances that WoD will use their warcry? For some reason i dont see them doing it almost ever in freeplay when in the northern expansion missions from memory they do use and abuse it from time to time
YES! exactly that, and it makes their cry stronger, and they regen mana faster so they can cast it more often
In the dlc missions WoD have been buffed in this exact way. Their starting INT is 3 instead of 1
Ahhhhh
Guess they just forgot to patch freeplay then
you are able to patch all the base game missions to use dlc content
How
wait what, I thought it capped out at like 3 libraries?
Are the Northern Expansion quests harder than the Southern ones when I played them with all the expansion stuff already?
Some of them, yeah
Some of them are particularly brutal, like the map with the teleporting death towers that shit monsters or that map that just constantly has earthquakes all the time
Fairgrounds are a good way to safely level up heroes when they're squishy or nothing else is really going on
Also I'm pretty sure they give you good amounts of cash
Spires of death is absolute horseshit of a map. I genuinely think the expansions difficulty went full moron and all the master levels are not fun.
Fairgrounds give a massive input of cash but most people believe that by the point you get one the map is basically over.
Spires of death is nowhere near as bad as legendary heroes
Are blacksmiths really necessary? The upgrades aren't that big.
And fairgrounds? They mostly seem like a way to keep your wizards distracted.
>Are blacksmiths really necessary?
I never checked what the armor/weapons do but I always thought it was fundamentally important. But then I had missions without blacksmiths and it didn't feel like there was such a big difference. Maybe it's more important for the building discount?
FRICK Day of Reckoning and FRICK Legendary Heroes.
Haven't picked the game back up again since I finished the original final scenario, hard to believe that I have only the expansion pack maps left after all this time.
Prepare yourself
Krypta + Dauros would be the strongest combo possible. Agrela + Flavor Flav would be garbage.
>Agrela + Flavor Flav would be garbage
Warriors of Discord would become way better, as it would fix their biggest weakness: too dumb to buy potions
Am I missing something here? There are no more sewer pipes anywhere on the map and I fought off at least two waves with some special announcement from the ratmen leader I presume. But the scenario is still not over. Is it supposed to be time gated behind more ratmen waves?
Literally immediately after I complain about it here, of course that's when the final wave comes.
>Goblins rush in within 5 seconds and instakill my marketplace with 1 hit
I hate this fricking mission, holy shit. I wish there was a "protect" flag.
Really? I actually like that mission, did it several times
They ran out for voice budget for this mission? First one that doesn't have a voice over.
I think they added those in as bonus later
Do Rogues...really?
build statues, moron.
the rogues having low loyalty and high greed is their whole point
I thought statues did nothing outside of multiplayer.
They work in SP, but the siege is literally the only stage in the game where an AI uses bounty flags so they are simply useless at any other time.
Mausoleum vs Agrela's resurrection spell vs Krypta's resurrection spell, which is best/worst and why?
Chad answer:
>None.
If you die, you stay dead, loser b***h.
You can't really compare the mausoleum to the spells. The spells need you to be on point and cast it before the tombstone disappears while the mausoleum is just there after it's built, so you dont get fricked if you don't have the gold for a spell. Agrela is also cheaper than Krypta
Doesn't one of them raise on the same place? The more expensive one?
Not in the base game, that was added in the expansion
>warriors
>elves
>krolm
>spam rage
Beats every single mission.
Objectively incorrect.
Cope.
There are lots of missions where you can't build elves and krolm so you obviously can't beat those with your strat.
Transition from 2D to 3D rarely was not painful for game series
Have you tried using the custom scenario editor for Majesty ?
Where it at?
All i get when looking it up is info for the one for game 2
>avenge paladin
>can't make paladins (or any other good unit for that matter)
High IQ
Oh wait, you literally can't make shit. Absolutely nothing that let's you interact with the map. You just have to hope your heroes do what they need to do. Truly "master" difficulty.
Yeah this one is terrible i dont think i ever beat it
The missions that limit your ability to build heroes are all shit.
Men are the inferior gender in this game!
>Paladins, healers, and priestesses of krypta
>vs wizards, lunkhead barbars and discords, and dick-ass rogues
i guess
but you also have Sean Connery as your majordomo so
Krolmless sissies get the frick off my board
We need a balance mod to buff men!
A single swipe from a strong empowered Paladinwoman is enough to beat half a dozen of Barbarianmen!
>1 lil paladin girl takes on 6 barb bulls
>rage of krolm activates
>3 barbarians take on 9 paladins
>take steroids
>win competition
Well Krolm DOES make you stronger, thats the whole point
Is it possible to prioritize what your peasants build?
I think they follow the build order, regardless of distance
Spires of Death attempt #1 - clearly shouldn't have gone for vanilla units.
Tghe frick? When you kill the 2nd to last one they start spawning next to you?
Ok...finally....THE LAST MISSION OF THE GAME = DONE!
Ballista Towers are so much better than Guard Towers. Guard Towers are pretty much just there to provide a temporary distraction, the guards and arrows can barely handle rats and die to every other common threat. And the worst part is that the Guard Tower prince increases with every single one you build, but the Ballista price stays constant.
guard towers are an administrative building
So I should put them as far away as possible from the HQ and from each other for max efficiency?
Place them on trade routes, next to sewer grates, next to the marketplace, honestly anywhere is a good spot for a guard tower.

>2 quests
>and one of them is already in the game
When I try to install the Wrath of Krolm quest (weird that you have to install it in the first place) it says it doesn't detect Majesty on my system...
Actually, all the downloadable quests all 2 of them are in the game already, top left, purple icon.
Did no one make more custom quests?
there are a bunch of custom quests on steam workshop https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=73230
Its frickin over
A lotta HP for a hired Krolm
>Defense - Average
Favorite quest and least favorite quest?
Cant decide the favorite but least is Legendary Heroes no contest
I like the ones where you start with high level heroes and hate the ones where I can't make my favorite units.
Imagine if you could modify the unit stats around and finally make men as strong as women.

Majesty? Building siege equipment!
Any good mods?
