I was expecting the announcement to be garbage but not to this extent. They went above and beyond to deliver to most soulless looking garbage they could possible muster. I always had this slight sliver of hope that Gust might return one day but this confirms that they are truly 100% dead.

The trailer says Project A25 (Atelier #25) but there's no mention of Gust anywhere on the official site or in the announcement stream.

Yeah, I doubt this is "THE LAST ATELIER GAME" or whatever doomposters seem to be implying, just like FFXI and FFXIV are MMOs and mainlines at the same time, it doesn't mean we won't get classic offline Ateliers again.
They already said in the announcement they have a console title in development but it's too soon to show anything.
There's many hints that this will be a crossoverfest game.

FGO killed typemoon. All it takes for Atelier to die is for this thing to be successful. Some don't like crossing the street blindfolded even if there is a chance to come out on the other side not a pancake.
Fate was a Visual Novel series though, it depended mostly on Nasu sitting down and writing shit, Atelier has a bigger staff behind it and I doubt they would put all their effort and resources into making gachashit in such a short period, maybe by 2030 if this project proves to be REALLY successful, but the next couple of arcs should still follow a classic structure and be offline.

Even worse, crossover stuff is garbage and so was Nelke. Just shamelessly trying to shove stuff in from the days when people actually liked them.
Nelke wasn't good because the gameplay got too obnoxious the more you progressed, the crossover part was alright, it's sort of fun to make your own dream teams of favorite characters and watch the cutscenes where they interacted.
It seems like this new game isn't being "on your face" about the crossover as much as Nelke though, so I'm guessing you can play with them but they won't play a big role on the main story, but they still could have their substory quest.

It's not even being mainly developed by Gust so it's obviously not where their focus is.

It's likely a stopgap game like Lulua or Sophie 2, something to generate revenue while the next major Atelier gets finished. I don't think it'll be very good though. Everybody is trying to copy Genshin but nobody is pulling it off and I doubt Gust's attempt will be any better.

Honestly the artstyle for this mobile is looking kinda close to Mysterious, that signals to me that they don't want to make Ryza clones from now on.
The Ryza games were great and I've been a fan of the series since the original Rorona hit PS3. Played every Gust game since then and platinumed most of the games too.

For a chinese/korean mobile it would be business as usual, but since it's tied to a japanese IP it's kinda unexepcted for it to look that good (which granted, it isn't mindblowing but it's still above-average for a mobile).

Last year Gust released a bunch of merch for the 25th anniversary which showed the codename for each game. Weirdly, Lulua's codename was not A(XX) but just Lulua, so the usual numbering jumped from L&S' A19 to Ryza's A20. Since this cancerous gachashit is A25, they either went back and shifted everything up a number by making Lulua A20, or A24 is the Marie remake.
Ryza was the beginning of the end, I will absurd blame her and moronic fans for killing Gust.
