Making an espionage rpg inspired by Persona

Spend the entire afternoon fixing the menu screen thanks to the specifications of yesterday. How is the menu looking now? Tried mixing that Persona 5 style with a GBA. The watch for reference is the Seiko sk007(yes a friendly nod to the agent 007).

Also, yes I know the date and the other sticks are missing, but that is only because I haven't still created the time and calendar system.

This is how it looked earlier for reference.

call me the lowest common denominator but this doesn't strike me as a menu at least just from looking at the picture compared to although that one is much less stylized
maybe a background behind the hovered menu item like how the original has it would make it more digestable but idk I'm not a ux expert

Why seiko and not a luxury watch?

you made it so mousewheel scrolls the dial on the right of the watch and cycles through the options, right?

It does! Though it uses the basic up and down arrows and control support for now for the controls. Though adding the mousewheel is extremely easy. Here is a webm of how it works in action.

Looking good, though the transition between "Quest" and "Stats" feels a bit weird compared to everything else (due to the arrow going through a bigger gap than the rest). Personally I'd maybe put a short and quick animation between those two of the arrow shifting from one sides to another to make it more smoother

Noted, I will try to do that if it’s possible. Thank you.

How hard is it to make a circle circular?

    >moving the cursor in a circle
The only acceptable control input for this is a spinner, and nobody has one of those. When you get to "social", you have to press "down" to go to car.

the only cool watch to me is the royal oak but this seiko looks fine

    social?

As in social link. Like in Persona you will be able to make friends or have a dating, or even a harem if you want. In Social Link the level of each relationship is displayed to see what dating or activities are available.

Call it something else. I know it's literally just Social Links but you can't just call it that. It's a spy game so call it Connections or something.

      Wouldn’t it be fair use?

faceless thoughtless unfeeling corporations do not give a single frick about what is actually fair use. corporate legal departments are happy to shove frivolous lawsuits up random peoples asses to justify being on payroll.

there is no guarantee it will happen to op but it is a realistic possiblility

Hopefully nothing bad will happen. This could be considered in a way free promotion for seiko.

Companies don't fall for that excuse. If you want a 007 reference I'm sure you can think of something else that wouldn't risk a lawsuit.

I don’t think it would go to that extreme. If I’m not wrong in the novel Thunderball by Ian Fleming it is explicitly written that the watch James Bond uses is a Rolex.

I kind don’t want to make a fictional company for it because I want to use some items that people can actually look and find.

Books can be a bit different with this stuff, although I remember some books having to take out some brands because the brands didn't like it. If you say "well, it's free publicity", Seiko will just counter argue that you're using their brand to advertise your game. And they'd be in the right.
The 30 seconds you'd spend just making up a fictional name will be one less concern. Hell, this isn't a James Bond game right? Come up with your own legacy rather than aping Fleming's. No one will care that it's a 007 reference. If you can make something your own, why not do that?

You should change the Seiko brand. Just rename it something original.

No. You can't just use a brand you don't own because you feel like it. You never noticed the disclaimers in the corners saying "Brand is trademarked. All rights reserved." That's legal talk for don't touch my shit.

Kojimbo put a real watch in MGSV trailer footage. By the time the full game came out, it was replaced with a similar looking watch in a promo deal with Seiko.

Honestly, for whatever this is, I doubt you'd have to worry about a lawsuit over a game that gets 10 downloads if you're lucky. But why risk it?

This will become the most played game in Ganker, and probably Twitter as well.

add integer scaling so it doesn't look like shit, not going to play your game not because it's low quality but because i don't like rpgs
