His fight is a fricking nightmare if you use weapons that do little to no stance damage (like spears or katanas)

I didn't one-shot Maliketh but I can see how it could be really easy to do. Morgott, Horah Loux and Maliketh are all bosses that could be extremely challenging and infamous filters if they didn't have so little HP by the time you fight them. Not to mention you probably have like 10 estus at that point.

and yet you can get a couple of lucky rolls and disintegrate him while he casually misses you. There's plenty of fights that can end like that in ER.

I got filtered by the one thats raping the one in a cocoon. First boss where I ended up choosing to kind of cheese with incantations. Granted Im a pussy now and if I die more than 5x to something I start getting really impatient.
Far cry from the 9 hour straight overnight session I needed to beat O&S...turns out a blind run coupled with changing my claymore to lightning after my second loss makes the fight somewhat more difficult than it already was.

Nah he's just one of those bosses that's a pain if you start panicking and try to rush him. If you just wait a bit, he has 3 openings long enough for even the slowest charged R2 or ash.

No need for blasphemous claw, its not worth the tight parry timing. The two attacks that can be parried (triple projectiles into double spin and plunging attack) are fairly consistent to just roll and punish.

The parry timing is the easiest shit in the world what are you talking about?
It's at BEST 18 frames at 60fps which would make it equivalent to buckler parry, rolling with light or medium equip load is 26 iframes.
His sword glows bright yellow when it's time to parry its one of the most clear visual indicators in the game, you don't need to spend any of your reaction time on trying to read his animation like you would with parrying other bosses you just see yellow and parry.

Is it just me, or do some ER bosses feel out of place? It feels like you should be fighting them in BB instead of a rollsoul game. There are way too many attacks in sequence, and some that just flat out ignore the fact that you're rolling and do damage anyway.

Probably. I tend to suck at Souls games, except for BB and Wo Long, where I tore ass through most of the game. That and I don't like to meta much, so when I play in coop all my friends are dealing massive damage while I barely do any.

So did no one find the item near him that lets you parry his shit in one go? He's big, he's fast but he crumples like wet cardboard once you get your opening.

He's in the same game as Malenia so that can't possible be the case. He has genuine openings instead of invitations for unlimited hyperarmor counter attacks and you don't even have to wait your turn when he's on the ground because he has sweeps you can jump attack over and a slam that has no hitbox next to him.
He also has like zero health.
Malenias also not hard, WFD is just a terribly designed move
I don't know man, maybe it's a personal thing. Different people have different rhythms and Malenia fricks mine very hard. Just like how people kept telling me Nameless King is so hard and I beat him blind first try, meanwhile the apparently easier twin princes took me several attempts + a change from UGS to GS.
For Malenia, it feels like she just blatantly cheats. Every other boss I can learn but she just ignores all the rules that have been hammered into me up until her. I have never once seen anything to substantiate everyone's claim that she staggers easily because she has frick you poise through every single thing I do, I assume there's a special rhythm to hitting her that's completely phase shifted from every other boss in the game but I can't get into it. Her fight is always just a Donguri DMC combo video (featuring me as the mooks) in between stints of impenetrable hyper armor combo extension repositioning. It's like if players had access to a weapon art that combined Lions Claw with blood hound step as a follow up option and could be used out of hitstun.
I love entering these threads because it reminds me how bad Ganker is at games on average
maliketh was one of the easier bosses in elden ring, sure he attacks a lot but it all has a huge telegraphed windup.
in general I think the telegraphed attacks are a litmus test of who is moronic and who isn't, because all that slow windups and delayed attacks did in Elden Ring is make it the easiest of all the souls/borne games, its literally giving you extra time to dodge.

just walk away from his range and throw a bomb, most bosses with the "holding up their weapon" are just waiting for an action from a player or leaving their area of attack
