I want to see what he'll do with DS2. The first one was a very exotic experience but not hard enough, combats are tedious and you avoid them not out of fear of being taken out but just because it's such a chore, and my last complaint is how thin the interaction you have with other players is. Would be better if you could see others traveling in your world maybe by switching their Sam model with a normal porter one to not have some big ludo narrative dissonance moment.
Also yeah amerinpcs got filtered HARD. Go play call of duty or fartnite.

You have just proven OP's point. You admitted that basically the whole game is bad.

No. Keep screeching and trying to twist people's words though it's funny to see npcs so mad when they see someone with a functioning brain enjoying a game not because of meaningless grinding, numbers on screen and all but just because of the overall experience being enjoyable. I like the vistas. I like the feeling of going on a long journey and managing my packages. I love trying to complete challenging runs with handicaps and a big amount of packages on foot instead of using a truck. I love playing offline and having to plan my route and fighting the environment, weather and terrain while facing unplanned events and difficulties.
Of course you need to be sentient to appreciate that kind of thing.

You just said it outright. Game is trash. If kojima made starfield as it is in the current state you would call it a masterpiece.

Yeah sure one risk taking experiment with a true artistic vision made with care is comparable to the AAA slop made by countless literally who studios Bethesda was outsourcing the game to.

It bugs me how there's a demonic star or whatever it's called when you hack the mule's postboxes. How Sam is locked in a system that looks like the WEF's dream with biological keys and locks, always tracing you, how death is depicted, the strands, the imagery with the firmament, the beach, everything seems to be hiding something grim and I wonder what kind of people or communities Kojima is in contact with.

I'm spooked by the numbers of my post, we're truly constantly watched and in some kind of jail aren't we?

His latest game is a AAA slop walking simulator. Worst of all it is a boring slop. At least some slop like far cry can entertain you if you switch your brain off. Death Stranding is irredeemable.

Genius Kojimbo is far from perfect but he makes original games and is passionate about them. I'll take something flawed and unique over the same old every time.

Can't speak for other people but I like a lot of left-field stuff apart from Kojima. I appreciate his work but don't worship him. Blind worship only keeps you from thinking critically.

if he wasn’t an old meme no one would give a frick about his games. he’s had a game studio for 7 YEARS and this trash is the only thing he’s put out.

Real question: Why are you so angry about people liking aspects of Death Stranding? You can just ignore the guy and sleep with lower blood pressure.

Mainstream gaming is dog shit because it became a billion dollar industry. AAA games answer to shareholders' needs and thus tend to create the blandest, most creatively safe games there are.
The one silver lining on the horizon are indie developers. There is so much good indie stuff coming out nowadays. Gaming on a large scale is fricked but it's thriving in niches.

The star is never explained but the handcuff device is made by Bridges company so it doesn’t seem like Kojima is painting them as the good guys. If anything the game is going against all of that, the ending pretty much flat out shows to go out, disconnect from the fake social media matrix, start a family and stop being afraid

Death Stranding embodies everything that is good about videogames. It's one of the best games from the last gen. To me Kojima and Death Stranding embody what videogame development should be all about. Trying new things to bring an interactive story with interesting gameplay, throwing conventions out of the window by letting your creativity run loose and in this regard, Kojima delivered. That panel with Kojima, Mikami and Suda from 2007 aged so well. Both Kojima and Mikami spoke on how they longed for creative liberty as Suda had - to make "games that don't necessarily sell". And look now, Kojima creates Death Stranding, one of the most bold and ambitious games in our recent generation.

as far as I'm concerned my PS4 is still current gen and the "new" gen is useless. Don't care about actual movie games, or 8k textures, or gay tracing + all the actual good games are still released on PS4. As long as fromsoft makes games on it and DS2 is coming out and available on ps4 I'm good.

He also simply did a good job of the basics:
        >Fusing narrative with art, sound, and movement
This is one thing Kojima is always overlooked for, because it is so fundamental. And yet his fundamentals are always strong. He has good taste, and so he can curate well.
