It looks jank as hell and impossible to play. I am sick to death of posters talking about slow down removal as if it were a good thing. Slow down adds hype and if you never played these games when they came out you will most likely never understand that.

Zoomies just don't get that it's integral to the gameplay experience.
>Dude you don't understand! I have to have my games run like slow and buggy garbage! If it doesn't look like the console is about to burst into flames like the og crash bandicoot nearly did with the acid cavern level they scrapped out, it's not a good game!
>slowdown is necessary to enjoy old games
You know that devs would have intentionally avoided that if it were possible, right? That's why as soon as the PS2 hit slowdown was exceptionally rare? But please, continue clutching your pearls over performance improvements in old games. You are a minority.

it's better than consumers being forced to play butchered remakes with no choice

I agree in some circumstances. People shit on the Perfect Dark framerate but I remember having tears of laughter streaming down my face with my sister and cousin having N-bomb fights and tanking the framerate to 1fps.
NTA, and I understand you. But, at least with my friends and me, those were just moments. Like, we wanted to frick around and did shit to try to break the game or discover some glitch. Most of the time, we tried to have a normal deathmatch and the framerate really got in the way. That's the reason we mainly stuck with GoldenEye; although it also had slowdown, but less.

This board will simultaneously decry 60fps improvements of games while also shitting on PAL releases because they aren't "full speed". I swear the majority of people here are bipolar.

I've spent hundreds of dollars on flash carts and ODEs and an OSSC for when I'm not hooked up to my CRT. I will repeat my request again:
Explain why improved performance and higher framerates that don't affect the internal logic of the game itself is a bad thing.
It seems to me unlikely that you'll ever respond and continue to deflect, because you have no actual logic behind your complaints. You watch those around you on these boards using buzz words like slop and zoomer desperately trying to fit in, and you do. Unfortunately you never actually post anything of substance because your ape brain has been trained to mimic others instead of developing your own thoughts and opinions.

One that cannot play with a drop of input lag. If you played any kind of rhythm or fighting game you would know they have to be played on a crt. Sorry bro I have not owned a modern television for over a decade and I know what flash carts are.

You do realize smash events play tournaments on modded versions of the game such as Project M, Project +, Beyond Melee, etc. Also all smash games (yes even 64) run at 60 FPS nearly 100% of the time. Also you should know that Mario Kart 64 is the ONLY Mario Kart that does NOT run at 60 FPS; so adding 60 FPS to that is actually incredibly awesome.
So you could shut up and stop making a fool of yourself any time you like...

Real hard to get a simple yes or no from retro gamers.
NTA, but I can answer it for you. For simplicity and lower computational cost, retro games have their game logic tied to the framerate. That means: double the framerate and you double the speed, altering the game's pacing and gameplay balance. If you still can't visualize it, go to any YouTube gaming video and set speed to 2x; see how everything turns into a Benny Hill chase scene.
>Toad driving alone >Uses a single boost mushroom >25% drop in FPS
It's no wonder they opted for a steady 30fps framerate. The framepacing would be extremely annoying in an actual race full of mayhem.
It looks steady to me, bro. I play single and 2-players Mario GP. Do you know any scenario in which pacing gets bad? I hope you're not being autistic and saying "oh, there's a 29fps moment, it's ruined".
>shockingly easy >game doesn't even run at 60, its 59 or worse >in one level >with no npcs or backgrounds or any other intensive data aside for the chomper
yeah, real impressive
> One car on track at all times > Runs at 59fps > dips into the 40's when one chomp chomp is on screen.
Neat demo. But let's see it run at 60fps with 7 other cars on screen, and on a more complex stage. The original release tries to target 30fps in single player, and it hits that target at times, but does drop below 30 into the 20's.
My favorite NES game is Mega Man 3 not because of the gameplay or bosses or music or weapons, it's exclusively because the NES shits itself when one enemy is onscreen
why don't any of these people ever release the rom
Probably because it's not fit for gameplay, as stated in the description. If it's that easy though, then hopefully we'll have something soom.
because they dont actually work as stated
Too busy trying to make Diddy Kong Racing run at 26 fps instead of 13 fps please understand
Hey, want to play some Altered Beast on the Genesis later today?
