Considering the cel-shading/comic-like graphics, I doubt this game will pull much from the MCU, especially since NetEast is developing the game. Supposedly, the plot has to do with Doctor Doom.

It can't pickup OW2 for the following reasons:
1. Ow2 is a FPS and this game is a TPS
2. Game is made by Netease
3. People who play Ow2 and still play are 'forever players'. If all the scandals and issues haven't driven them away before, nothing will now.
4. Overwatch at its worst had Gundam and Paladins as competition and they both massively failed to capture any of its playerbase. This will be no different.

I've put like 2500 hours into Overwatch and the only thing that was sort of ripped off was Iron Mans unibeam sort of being like Echos beam attack.
Magneto looks almost 1:1 a match to sigma though - medium range projectile aoe as his main attack with a barrier he can project forward
