It's something that the fanbase has been building up to for years now. FO3 caused outrage in the oldgay community, 4 was pretty controversial upon release thanks to NV introducing actual role playing to a consolegay audience and 4 having even worse freedom than 3, and 76 was a blatant cashgrab that was horrendously broken upon release. Add the fact that Starfield was a flop and TES6 is still up in the air with nothing concrete about it and people who've been paying attention are sick of Bethesda's shit.

Like I feel at the bare minimum, some automatic rad-check would take place when the doors are opened, just as one of various cautionary measures in case, for example, the reactor of one of the vaults was faulty/leaking/whatever.
