Yes. And Raincode will remain a Switch exclusive.
They didn't say anything about Raincode PLUS being exclusive tho

So just like SMTV, Nintendies playtest the beta version at full price while everyone else gets the finished edition later on.

I just want more lewd and sexy Shinigami pose and with actual pantyshot this time. Would be nice with more story too I guess but i wouldn't expect it with how lazy they are.

This game sucked. Worst ending in gaming ever

It's better than every Danganronpa ending. It just needed a longer epilogue.

The ending was decent for me and I absolutely loved the pink blood twist, but Rain Code was very weak compared to DR overall. Difficult to get invested in the mysteries when most of the characters involved didn't really matter at all for the player, save for chapter 2 and chapter 4. Worst part was them being extremely easy to solve (insulting your intelligence even) and the labyrinth segments being soulless because you never confronted the culprit in real life. For the majority of the game it felt like you were a spectator. Even the relationships between the detectives and Yuma got wasted because of the memories of events happening within the labyrinth being wiped at the end.

I had way more fun with the Danganronpa Another fangame duology, even if they weren't written by Kodaka and had production value issues. Sadly, if you can't read korean, you will probably be filtered. English TL is atrocious, even the second game

I hope this comes bundled with that digital novel only the first prints of the switch version had

Don't expect anything from it if you're actually looking forward to playing it. It has a lot of huge issues.

It was shit anyway. I think the worst part of the game is the fact that the first group of people you meet are 10000x better than the second. Fricking give me Pucci Lavmin you bastards

No. It's worse than every Dangan game

      Anonymous

It depends on what you wanted from it and didn't deliver on. The main warning I would give is that while Dangan moved relatively quickly through its plot points once things started rolling, things in RC move much, MUCH more slowly.

So the game now is good for the mentally ill from this board?

Well it's definitely better than danganronpa 1 but it still is a detective style visual novel.

Hm, an interesting conundrum. Let's look around... Aha! The grate was uncovered! The culprit is all too clear now, and it's the diver!
      >HOW DID THE KILLER ESCAPE THE ROOF?
      H-he dove in. Because he's a diver.
      >WHAT SKILL WOULD THE KILLER NEED TO DO THIS?
He'd need swimming ability. Which he has, he's a diver.
      >WHO IS THE KI-

This game, and this case in particular, sure loved to waste your time.

What's the point? You could play Rain Code 1440p and 60fps (even more with vsync unlocked) day 1 on Ryujinx last year. It's still good news, at least paypigs will hopefully be able to enjoy the game like emulation chads did, with better graphics and faster loading times than on the shitch.

But honestly, MDA:Rain Code was just not that impressive of a title. Mysteries were too easy to solve and the labyrinths all felt like unnecessarily long walking segments

  16. 1 month ago

The game suffered a lot from being a switch exclusive, especially with the framedrops and loading times. I hope these issues will be gone on the pc version. Can't speak for snoystation or shitbox though

as far as mystery games go
    Ryukishi>Uchikoshi>Kodaka

      Anonymous

Uchikoshi should be on the bottom. In his entire career the only good game he's made was 999. Ever17 can't even be considered a mystery game due to how long it takes to actually get to the good roite, and R11 is an such an unfinished mess that fans have made their own headcanons to fill the blanks.
VLR was dogshit on every front and the prototype for ZTD.
Kodaka and Ryukishi have created unique memorable characters (Komaeda, Beatrice, Rena, Junko) meanwhile people only remember Sigma, Date in AI and "Blick Winkel"

        Anonymous

I enjoyed Uchikoshi's works more, honestly. It's true that ZTD and R11 got fricked by funding, but that doesn't take away the fun I had while playing them.
Kodaka's works seem a little childish, so to say. You're being handheld the whole game, and when you solve the mystery yourself, you have to sit through 2 hours of dumb people arguing about a case that you've already solved in 2 minutes.
While Uchikoshi's games mostly revolve around "what the frick is even going on" in a big picture, Kodaka's games are presented in a more 'by chapter' mysteries.
I also like the way Uchikoshi can create a feeling of isolation from outside world, the total feeling of helplessness in his games, hope he returns to that someday

          >I also like the way Uchikoshi can create a feeling of isolation from outside world, the total feeling of helplessness in his games,
Yeah, those are actually great and contribute a lot to the overall atmosphere surrounding the mysteries, even if they fall flat themselves. That's why I enjoy kimi ga shine (YTTD) so much, because it combines the strengths of DR and ZE in a convincing manner even if the minigames can be a bit gimmicky. It will never be finished also

The only surprising thing about this port is that it didn't happen sooner, there was nothing keeping it exclusive to Switch, like Nintendo crossover content or whatever.

It's an okay game with a lot of neat ideas, but it fails to deliver on most of them and the cases are for the most part meh. Ch. 0 in particular completely falling apart conceptually and motivationally under the slightest bit of scrutiny bugs me to this day, when it made such a great first impression.

With that said, Ch. 2 is great even if the mystery is braindead since the investigation is really fun and directly targeted my fetishes, god damn
