As someone who started playing MD after not playing since 2004, and who didn't get to experience Synchros, I'd say just tackle the Solo Mode gates in order of release, they give you a basic understanding of each mechanic and they're good to rack up gems. Outside of that, it's all about experience, so try to focus on building a deck of each ED summoning method, usually the Structure Decks are a good starting point since we have Dragonmaids (Fusions), Blackwings (Synchro) and Salamangreat (Link) available if you want to give each one a try for very cheap.
If there's a meta deck I'd highly recommend that will stay relevant for a long time, it's Labrynth, a trap-based deck that can search and recycle normal traps and even has the ability of playing on your opponent's Turn 1.
That's just the starting guide on how to get and gems and what SDs to focus on.

If you want a more in-depth guide on modern Yugioh then that'll take longer, but I'll summarize the new summoning methods. XYZs are made when two or more monsters of the same type are stacked on top of each other. Monsters under an XYZ card count as "XYZ material" and don't count as having left the field. However XYZ material that is detached (Usually as cost for an effect) counts as being sent to the graveyard. They use ranks and not levels. XYZ monsters also sometimes have a theme of being able to "Rank Up" or be summoned on top of an existing XYZ monster for free if some condition is met. The most popular example of this is Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS, which can be summoned on top of any XYZ monster if an XYZ monster battled that turn. Links are any combination of monsters that the card specifies, but the number of monsters has to equal the card's Link Rating. Their link rating is listed next to their attack and it defines how many Link Arrows they have. They don't have defense, or levels, can't be in defense mode or facedown, and must be summoned to the Extra Monster Zone or a zone a Link Arrow points to. Additionally, if you use a Link Monster as material for a Link Summon, that Link monster can count as either 1 Link material, or a number of link materials equal to it's link rating. So for instance you can summon a Link 4 monster with 4 monsters, or with two Link 2 monsters. Or a Link 3 monster and 1 normal monster, a Link 2 and 2 non-link monsters, etc.
Don't worry about Pendulum Summoning. Konami doesn't give a frick about it and realistically neither should you. For what it's worth, I used to play around 2012 and I was able to pick the game back up just fine after watching some other people play.
No need just copy paste a meta deck, use that until you understand the game. Then use the gems you gained from it for whatever you want to play.
But if you want a specific answer, build Lab. Why? They have future support and lean on traps that btfo many decks. It's not too combo heavy or complicated.
If you get bored of it, you can add Plunder to it to make it a bit more complicated to pilot.

Terrortop resolving is a 1 card MX-Saber Invoker that doesn't use your normal summon. MX-Saber Invoker is a 1-card Isolde. Isolde resolving is an FTK. An FTK that doesn't use your normal summon. And Taketamborg is only a soft-garnet. There's "My slop pile ends on a bunch of generic ED bosses and only bricks half the time!" then there's "My slop pile is a consistent FTK that can pivot into a bunch of generic ED bosses if interrupted".
I really can't emphasize enough that these cards basically let you do anything. IMO Isolde is the primary problem card but it remains to be seen how much people are gonna abuse these new tools.
Isolde send 4 summon Armageddon Knight basically lets you generate arbitrary amounts of material but even something like Isolde send 1 summon Renaud lets you search any equip spell in the game while also generating more material on field, not to mention the card you're adding. You can use it to draw your entire deck for an Exodia play or just dump a bunch of cards for Blasting the Ruins. Granted Neo Space Connector can make Isolde and also rip an ash or similar but that commits to a normal summon, Terrortop doesn't have to.

Same way it draws Exodia, you just abuse the critical mass of draw power spells legal in Master Duel to draw your entire deck. And since drawing your entire deck means you have to dump a shitload of cards throughout the combo and possibly during the end phase, you've drawn 3 Blasting the Ruins and flip them up during the draw phase. As for Terrortop you have to think of it less like a Speedroid card and more like a free Rank 3 or link 2. Now that MX-Saber Invoker is free you can also summon any Earth warrior or beast warrior from deck. That's why it's a 1-card Isolde that doesn't use your normal summon like Connector does.

Don't have a specific decklist but if you want to play speedroid synchro spam then just play Speedroids. The wind lock on that deck already rules out Isolde and Invoker, and the best cards at turboing out Speedroids are the Speedroid monsters believe it or not. Isolde, Invoker, and Terrortop in this case are just engines that allow you to grab material for ED plays, I'm sure you could adapt them to synchro spam but if you want archetypal stuff just stick to the archetype. There's no practical way to run a valid archetype that also just randomly Isolde FTKs on good enough openers, Isolde FTKs run way too many garnets to allow for it. You can pivot to stuff like Baronne/Apollousa, not anything with a xenolock.

Isolde FTK will never be relevant as long as it actually needs Isolde's summon effect to resolve because everyone plays Ash and Imperm.
Making Isolde without normal summoning is strong, but it doesn't change your chokepoint. That stuff can only be relevant in a deck that can extend past Isolde's effect getting disrupted.
If you do anything to Isolde besides negating the summon effect itself, they can just make another one and combo anyways. It was a common mistake to make back in 2018. People would Veiler Isolde's on summon effect to add, then you would just Link off the Isolde into a second Isolde and use the summon effect anyways since it had not been activated yet.
No relevant deck wants to play Adventure, those cards could go to 3 and nobody would care. It would just result in some more soulless slop piles, but nothing meta relevant.

That's fair. For future reference there's 6 Knightmares, Pheonix, Cerberus, Unicorn, Gryphon, Mermaid, and Goblin. The last 2 had to be banned because they were insanely strong. Probably can't ever come off. Really the whole archetype was a mistake, the entire point of it was to use whatever engine you could to U-Link your opponent and Iblee lock them, while also giving co-linked monsters a ton of protection. As a side-effect it also stapled a bunch of strong removal on a bunch of generic ED tools.

Dino and Traptrix can use all of these except Promethean (might have to modify though because normally Traptrix stays in archetype outside of Asscode).
Promethean Princess is an extremely good generic FIRE card so if you think she's sex then keep her for the absolutely ridiculous amount of FIRE shit coming up in the future.
Baronne goes in literally every deck that plays a single non-ash tuner. UDF goes in the majority of xyz decks. Princess will be a staple during the fire meta later in the year. Accesscode is the best generic finisher for like 90% of the decks in the game.
i can see accesscode in dino and traptrix, but how does dino even get to baronne? and utopic draco can technically be made in traptrix, but that means overlaying it on any combination of pingui, raff and redoer, and IMO non targetting removal+quick effect trap hole>omni negate and monster steal
If you modify Traptrix to include some generic plant extenders you can end on UDF + Baronne + Sera.
I dislike this version of the deck but you CAN do it.
Dino just poops out Baronne with the Scrap package sometimes.
Gamma can become Baronne if you're willing to spend an extra ed slot on Accel Synchro Stardust. Getting a free Baronne when you opponent tries to handtrap you is often enough to outright win the game.

They need at least 3 ways to pop it, that or a way to draw into the card that pops the baby. Ground xeno means no more true king package or running more than 1 petit, it also means baronne (xeno meteorus+oviraptor, after you loop baby of course, for some reason people forget she's more than an omni-negate) and evolzar lars (2 use omni negate for everything but hand and GY effects).

Which would you guys say is most fun? I played Dogmatika before and liked it but I am lacking the new selection pack cards. I didn't like Weather Painter in the solo gate but that lacked the field and Moonbow so it's not the same.
The weather is a good goto deck to play in events even when her UR is banned. You can pair them with Kash, EldBlack person or True Draco. They suck in ladder though unless the opponent is unfamiliar wtih them
How differently does it play? I've set the thing up with a normal looking list (minus D-Shifter though) and am unsure of it because the solo gate was the most boring shit I've ever played despite how good they are at evading effects, which is something I usually like.

The deck is currently pure Dogmatika, I need 2 Luluwalilith since I pulled the single Quem they need already. The other URs for the list I was going to make were Cartesia, Albion (the red one) and The Iris Swordsoul.
The weather are a control deck that dodges effects and dismantles boards. They're very fragile and often times you'll be clearing your own board to preserve your monsters. When they pop off they're extremely annoying. In ladder you'll want to make Rainbow turn 1 for the 2-3 omninegates she can set up. You'll want to run 2 or 3 rainbows as often times you'll be tributing her to stop a special summon. Moonbow isn't necessary. They pair well with Kash as both decks function under D-Shifter which is usually an auto-win. EldBlack person Rainbow used to be okay due to the synergies with the Cloud and Thunder painters but bystials have ruined Eldlich for the foreseeable future. True draco is bricky but it gives them more bodies and some permanent removal options. They're all in all a bad deck but one that's fun to play. I play them on an alt account that's permanently in platinum/gold

I bought 5 on release because i had $100 burning a hole in my pocket and i got 6 fenrir, a lubellion playset, 2 magnamhut, 2 druiswurm, 2 copies of the "discard to draw 1" bird and a frickton of labrynth and blue eyes cards, i got back my money and made a cool $150, and i honestly would have earned more if i hadn't sold everything right away, iirc fenrir alone goes for $30 these days. And the lvl 2 Ghoti tuners work really well and give you lvl 10 Synchro plays, and you can summon the Deep Beyond arguably better than pure Ghoti can by themselves

Way more variance but in theory just as good. I think people are gonna test out Redox since the PUNKs are Earth, but we'll see.

Let's be honest, Cyberse piles that can reliably make the Cyberse fusion/synchro/XYZ cards are either @Ignister (Vrains character deck) or Code Talker/Firewall (Vrains main character deck). Proxy F Magician, Cyberse Sage, Firewall eXceed Dragon, Cyberse Quantum Dragon, etc, those are all Yusaku cards. Firewall Dragon Darkfluid even gets negates equal to the number of different non-Link ED types in your graveyard.
Drytron can generically summon ritual monsters as well as abuse generic extra monsters. The issue is that it really can't make use of generic main deck monsters
Because the ocg has little noir. Until that releases the deck may as well be joey.dek for how many dice rolls you need to succeed on to do anything.

The thing holding Speedroids back is them coming out like 1 or 2 sets before Konami realized that midrange decks should be able to play around Maxx C, if they didn't have to summon so much to make anything happen they would be a solid grind deck that can make psuedo combo boards with a good hand.
Speedroids are already running Wynn/Small World to get Terrortop in their hand and even if they don't they can search it and get it in play with the Link 2. Obviously you'd rather open it so they appreciate the slight consistency boost in that regard but it doesn't do anything crazy for the deck.

The fact that it's able to do this extremely consistently too is what makes it too much to deal with.
I wouldn't mind Laplacian if it happened on their turn, but the fact they get to use that as an interruption is what's super obnoxious. It becomes basically impossible to deal with all the obstacles the deck puts up going first. Even Mikanko who are an OTK deck full of Kaijus can't exactly do anything about it. It's too many vectors to frick you over.

No need just copy paste a meta deck, use that until you understand the game. Then use the gems you gained from it for whatever you want to play.
As someone who started playing MD after not playing since 2004, and who didn't get to experience Synchros, I'd say just tackle the Solo Mode gates in order of release, they give you a basic understanding of each mechanic and they're good to rack up gems. Outside of that, it's all about experience, so try to focus on building a deck of each ED summoning method, usually the Structure Decks are a good starting point since we have Dragonmaids (Fusions), Blackwings (Synchro) and Salamangreat (Link) available if you want to give each one a try for very cheap.
If there's a meta deck I'd highly recommend that will stay relevant for a long time, it's Labrynth, a trap-based deck that can search and recycle normal traps and even has the ability of playing on your opponent's Turn 1.

If you want a more in-depth guide on modern Yugioh then that'll take longer, but I'll summarize the new summoning methods. XYZs are made when two or more monsters of the same type are stacked on top of each other. Monsters under an XYZ card count as "XYZ material" and don't count as having left the field. However XYZ material that is detached (Usually as cost for an effect) counts as being sent to the graveyard. They use ranks and not levels. XYZ monsters also sometimes have a theme of being able to "Rank Up" or be summoned on top of an existing XYZ monster for free if some condition is met. The most popular example of this is Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS, which can be summoned on top of any XYZ monster if an XYZ monster battled that turn. Links are any combination of monsters that the card specifies, but the number of monsters has to equal the card's Link Rating. Their link rating is listed next to their attack and it defines how many Link Arrows they have. They don't have defense, or levels, can't be in defense mode or facedown, and must be summoned to the Extra Monster Zone or a zone a Link Arrow points to. Additionally, if you use a Link Monster as material for a Link Summon, that Link monster can count as either 1 Link material, or a number of link materials equal to it's link rating. So for instance you can summon a Link 4 monster with 4 monsters, or with two Link 2 monsters. Or a Link 3 monster and 1 normal monster, a Link 2 and 2 non-link monsters, etc.
Don't worry about Pendulum Summoning. Konami doesn't give a frick about it and realistically neither should you. For what it's worth, I used to play around 2012 and I was able to pick the game back up just fine after watching some other people play.

Terrortop resolving is a 1 card MX-Saber Invoker that doesn't use your normal summon. MX-Saber Invoker is a 1-card Isolde. Isolde resolving is an FTK. An FTK that doesn't use your normal summon. And Taketamborg is only a soft-garnet. There's "My slop pile ends on a bunch of generic ED bosses and only bricks half the time!" then there's "My slop pile is a consistent FTK that can pivot into a bunch of generic ED bosses if interrupted".
I really can't emphasize enough that these cards basically let you do anything. IMO Isolde is the primary problem card but it remains to be seen how much people are gonna abuse these new tools.

Isolde send 4 summon Armageddon Knight basically lets you generate arbitrary amounts of material but even something like Isolde send 1 summon Renaud lets you search any equip spell in the game while also generating more material on field, not to mention the card you're adding. You can use it to draw your entire deck for an Exodia play or just dump a bunch of cards for Blasting the Ruins. Granted Neo Space Connector can make Isolde and also rip an ash or similar but that commits to a normal summon, Terrortop doesn't have to.

Same way it draws Exodia, you just abuse the critical mass of draw power spells legal in Master Duel to draw your entire deck. And since drawing your entire deck means you have to dump a shitload of cards throughout the combo and possibly during the end phase, you've drawn 3 Blasting the Ruins and flip them up during the draw phase. As for Terrortop you have to think of it less like a Speedroid card and more like a free Rank 3 or link 2. Now that MX-Saber Invoker is free you can also summon any Earth warrior or beast warrior from deck. That's why it's a 1-card Isolde that doesn't use your normal summon like Connector does.

Don't have a specific decklist but if you want to play speedroid synchro spam then just play Speedroids. The wind lock on that deck already rules out Isolde and Invoker, and the best cards at turboing out Speedroids are the Speedroid monsters believe it or not. Isolde, Invoker, and Terrortop in this case are just engines that allow you to grab material for ED plays, I'm sure you could adapt them to synchro spam but if you want archetypal stuff just stick to the archetype. There's no practical way to run a valid archetype that also just randomly Isolde FTKs on good enough openers, Isolde FTKs run way too many garnets to allow for it. You can pivot to stuff like Baronne/Apollousa, not anything with a xenolock.

Isolde FTK will never be relevant as long as it actually needs Isolde's summon effect to resolve because everyone plays Ash and Imperm.
Making Isolde without normal summoning is strong, but it doesn't change your chokepoint. That stuff can only be relevant in a deck that can extend past Isolde's effect getting disrupted.

If you do anything to Isolde besides negating the summon effect itself, they can just make another one and combo anyways. It was a common mistake to make back in 2018. People would Veiler Isolde's on summon effect to add, then you would just Link off the Isolde into a second Isolde and use the summon effect anyways since it had not been activated yet.

That's fair. For future reference there's 6 Knightmares, Pheonix, Cerberus, Unicorn, Gryphon, Mermaid, and Goblin. The last 2 had to be banned because they were insanely strong. Probably can't ever come off. Really the whole archetype was a mistake, the entire point of it was to use whatever engine you could to U-Link your opponent and Iblee lock them, while also giving co-linked monsters a ton of protection. As a side-effect it also stapled a bunch of strong removal on a bunch of generic ED tools.

They need at least 3 ways to pop it, that or a way to draw into the card that pops the baby. Ground xeno means no more true king package or running more than 1 petit, it also means baronne (xeno meteorus+oviraptor, after you loop baby of course, for some reason people forget she's more than an omni-negate) and evolzar lars (2 use omni negate for everything but hand and GY effects).

Which would you guys say is most fun? I played Dogmatika before and liked it but I am lacking the new selection pack cards. I didn't like Weather Painter in the solo gate but that lacked the field and Moonbow so it's not the same.
The weather is a good goto deck to play in events even when her UR is banned. You can pair them with Kash, EldBlack person or True Draco. They suck in ladder though unless the opponent is unfamiliar wtih them
How differently does it play? I've set the thing up with a normal looking list (minus D-Shifter though) and am unsure of it because the solo gate was the most boring shit I've ever played despite how good they are at evading effects, which is something I usually like.
The deck is currently pure Dogmatika, I need 2 Luluwalilith since I pulled the single Quem they need already. The other URs for the list I was going to make were Cartesia, Albion (the red one) and The Iris Swordsoul.
The weather are a control deck that dodges effects and dismantles boards. They're very fragile and often times you'll be clearing your own board to preserve your monsters. When they pop off they're extremely annoying. In ladder you'll want to make Rainbow turn 1 for the 2-3 omninegates she can set up. You'll want to run 2 or 3 rainbows as often times you'll be tributing her to stop a special summon. Moonbow isn't necessary. They pair well with Kash as both decks function under D-Shifter which is usually an auto-win. EldBlack person Rainbow used to be okay due to the synergies with the Cloud and Thunder painters but bystials have ruined Eldlich for the foreseeable future. True draco is bricky but it gives them more bodies and some permanent removal options. They're all in all a bad deck but one that's fun to play. I play them on an alt account that's permanently in platinum/gold

I bought 5 on release because i had $100 burning a hole in my pocket and i got 6 fenrir, a lubellion playset, 2 magnamhut, 2 druiswurm, 2 copies of the "discard to draw 1" bird and a frickton of labrynth and blue eyes cards, i got back my money and made a cool $150, and i honestly would have earned more if i hadn't sold everything right away, iirc fenrir alone goes for $30 these days. It's no longer worth it though, people here are so fricking israeli they're "milking" the tins and rarity collection boxes, and that's on top of selling them at a 50% markup, they're not even being subtle about it, if you go buy a single rarity collection booster (for $10 lol) you will get nothing but supers and ultras, and if you complain about it they won't refund you and blame konami for "sending a misprint box", even though everyone knows what they're doing.

And the lvl 2 Ghoti tuners work really well and give you lvl 10 Synchro plays, and you can summon the Deep Beyond arguably better than pure Ghoti can by themselves

Firewall Dragon Darkfluid even gets negates equal to the number of different non-Link ED types in your graveyard.

The thing holding Speedroids back is them coming out like 1 or 2 sets before Konami realized that midrange decks should be able to play around Maxx C, if they didn't have to summon so much to make anything happen they would be a solid grind deck that can make psuedo combo boards with a good hand.
Speedroids are already running Wynn/Small World to get Terrortop in their hand and even if they don't they can search it and get it in play with the Link 2. Obviously you'd rather open it so they appreciate the slight consistency boost in that regard but it doesn't do anything crazy for the deck.

It is the Cyberse equivalent to Chaos Ruler in that all combos inevitably run through it, and reviving it lets you extend into Darkfluid/Firewall/Accessocde/whatever.
I'm not saying it's a bad target, just not the one I think they will go for. Other cyberse engines are a lot more fragile than mathmech is and aren't really relevant if mathmech is killed.

What's annoying is that they get a 1 card full combo to an 8k+ monster + Heatsoul for +2 draw (meaning greater chance of drawing into Maxx/Ash to use them on your turn, WITH a graveyard omni-negate, that worst of all, gets to have 2 free interruptions and a handrip on your turn.
The fact that it's able to do this extremely consistently too is what makes it too much to deal with.
I wouldn't mind Laplacian if it happened on their turn, but the fact they get to use that as an interruption is what's super obnoxious. It becomes basically impossible to deal with all the obstacles the deck puts up going first. Even Mikanko who are an OTK deck full of Kaijus can't exactly do anything about it. It's too many vectors to frick you over.
