Hitting Tears when POTE was still on the shelves being sold and more Tear support was on the way? They would never do that. Cards don't get designed 1 week from announcement either, they get designed months ahead. They made Tears intending for it to be the next big meta thing, then as they designed following sets they already planned to print anti-Tear decks to sell during the Tear meta, because people would buy them. It's all by design. Konami knows how to make money.
The decline started at synchros. XYZ was okay until they started cheating summon requirements. Pends are fine, links are slop that put Yugioh in the grave.

Diviner is your best normal summon by a long shot for that deck. You can get away with Gale Dogra if you're UR conscious but I've seen lists that aren't really playing normal summons outside of Diviner. The deck plays basically every generic ritual support it can get it's hands on because Nouvelles are an actual ritual monsters and not something like Drytron that cheats the core mechanics. 3x Diviner, 3x Pre-prep, and 3x regular prep are basically a must. I've also seen people play 3x Mikanko Oohime to boost end boards, but I'm less sure about the viability of that outside of Libromancer.
Runick is great. Control is the only deck type that ensures back and forth duels. Problem is most of the time you get a first turn scoop because yugioh players don't actually want to play a card game, they just want to blow out the other player in one turn.

I have found it pretty decent in Lab, but it's definitely a last resource card and only if you know your beatsticks will always be bigger than your opponent's.
It doesn't really matter, OCG clowns were running it in Lab so much they actually hit it to 1. They have to turn everything into a stun deck even if it technically isn't as good (see Runic Stun vs Nat Runic)
Stun shit aside, Lab players are still fricking carried, the deck plays itself.
It work, first effect of encore doesn't affect monster but material, and since Noir no longer immune from activation effect when it has less than 5 cards, it will get bounced too
XYZ encore affects the material, not the card itself. That's why this card can also dismantled 5 mats Rhogo.

The only way for Noir to be "can't be targeted" during your turn is if it special summoned with Yeap since Street only protect Purrely monster from being targeted during the turn it special summoned... so I don't see any reason why you can't use encore.
If your opponent use Yeap then chain encore
If Noir is SS during your opponent turn then it no longer can't be targeted during your turn

I think people are writing off Tistina too soon. It's probably not viable as a standalone archetype but the new support has some good cards to capitalize off flipping people's shit down. If anything kills its viability it's going to be that its engine is too large.

I honestly have no idea and just put two archetype names together for the lulz, but I guess a few dudes or two have played it. Wraitsoth, theosis, and ariseheart aren't in MD yet so I don't think you could play it as well as this list. Seems to just rely on the Kashtiras to provide big bodies on board while just utilizing the naturia synchros as negates, I doubt it's as good as naturia runick.
Fenrir and Unicorn being free level 7 bodies that are annoying to play around and can be reborned off of birth. Any level 3 tuner makes Baronne with a spend negate turning back into either monster.
Tear Kash and Scare Kash are decks that can synergy instead of being a mish-mash as Fenrir or the new field spell can add a monster from either archetype.
I thought Kash Tears (the deck mix) was just a meme, or at least that's what my friend said. I forget the exact reasoning but I assume it's something along the lines of Tears being mill focused and Kash not doing anything when milled (unless you mill Kashtiratheosis with Arise-Heart on the field or something).
You just play the kashtira cards that search Kashtira Tearlament like the field spell and fenrir, and use that as a starter or extender in tear, with the added benefit of fenrir just being a good card. Some builds also play unicorn to search birth incase you mill fenrir later, but at that point you're adding a lot more bad mills. A proper mix wouldn't work since the 2 decks basically counter each other.
Nothing is ever a meme for tear though, they can genuinely get away with playing anything and it will just work. Even really bad archetypes like mikankos and destiny heroes are miles better in tear than their own deck.
You just playing the ritual broad, the quickplay, and the equip that steals monsters. Using the rituals search then discard can trigger tearlament effects, then you can use the quickplay to summon the ritual, steal an opponent's monster if they have one, then just use the ritual and some level 6, like a bystial if your opponent dared stop your tear fusions, or a garura or diviner you have on hand to make beatrice.
If you can make Noir during your turn, you don't necessarily need Leap and can discard it for a Memory if needed. It also has a fringe use of being able to return your Main Deck Purrely to dodge a Bystial if you go first or Called By and D.D. Crow going second.
It's Reinforcement of the Army for Yu-Gi-Oh cards. The only reason it isn't in every single deck in paper at the moment is because it's $100 for a single copy.
Pretty strong in a best of 3 scenario because it can really add consistency to non-searchable side deck cards such as board breakers or floodgates like Dimensional Barrier. It's main decked just because going first you can get some utility out of it going first if you get hand trapped. Because of this I'm not sure how strong it will be in a Bo1 scenario. It might be nice to search extenders, but unless you get gamma'd you can't activate the card turn 1, and running a hypothetical "Thrust package" is a lot harder in a wider meta. D-Barrier for instance won't even hit Labrynth or D-Link. It's good if you want to play board breakers like lightning storm, Evenly, IKS, or even a regular Triple Tactics, but main decks are already clogged with the Maxx C package in this format. You don't have to immediately craft 3 of them but I think it'll be strong in dedicated going second strategies like Numeron and Mikanko.
Anyone play Purrely here? Got any pro tips for a beginner? I've lost a few matches now to the timer, and can't tell if it's just me not knowing the deck, having toggle ON constantly, or it being complicated enough that it really does take up a large portion of the timer. I like the discard engine builds, feels unstoppable when it gets going. Right now I'm just playing Noir turbo and cutiesprite gambling but how do I better utilize the other Purrely Xyz cards?

plump attach effect is non target banish so it's a good answer for the mikanko menace which can also combo into said otk
as for timer it just means you need to keep playing and continue to familiarize yourself with the deck. less hesitation on choices = less timer drain

Or Kashtira, by far one of the most braindead archetypes that has existed.
Swordsoul is easy and out now. Kash is out in a few days and is pretty easy. Mathmech is very easy too, but its matchup vs kash is not the best.
Most players on ladder don't even know how to get the most out of the tenyi engine nor how to synchro 5+ times.

Diviner is your best normal summon by a long shot for that deck. You can get away with Gale Dogra if you're UR conscious but I've seen lists that aren't really playing normal summons outside of Diviner. The deck plays basically every generic ritual support it can get it's hands on because Nouvelles are an actual ritual monsters and not something like Drytron that cheats the core mechanics. 3x Diviner, 3x Pre-prep, and 3x regular prep are basically a must. I've also seen people play 3x Mikanko Oohime to boost end boards, but I'm less sure about the viability of that outside of Libromancer.
Because since 5Ds, people (nonplayers specifically) have been b***hing about how powerful combo is and how the game is too fast.
It's the only yugioh archetype that actually has gameplay.
Runick is great. Control is the only deck type that ensures back and forth duels. Problem is most of the time you get a first turn scoop because yugioh players don't actually want to play a card game, they just want to blow out the other player in one turn.

It's just sort of a last resort card.
It does, but not much in the meta can actually beat over you so it sort of works out.
I have found it pretty decent in Lab, but it's definitely a last resource card and only if you know your beatsticks will always be bigger than your opponent's.
Skilldrain hurts lab, but it also hurts every single deck even more since most deck cannot put out 3k+ beater from hand without a monster effect.
It doesn't really matter, OCG clowns were running it in Lab so much they actually hit it to 1. They have to turn everything into a stun deck even if it technically isn't as good (see Runic Stun vs Nat Runic)
Stun shit aside, Lab players are still fricking carried, the deck plays itself.

I think people are writing off Tistina too soon. It's probably not viable as a standalone archetype but the new support has some good cards to capitalize off flipping people's shit down. If anything kills its viability it's going to be that its engine is too large.

I honestly have no idea and just put two archetype names together for the lulz, but I guess a few dudes or two have played it. Wraitsoth, theosis, and ariseheart aren't in MD yet so I don't think you could play it as well as this list. Seems to just rely on the Kashtiras to provide big bodies on board while just utilizing the naturia synchros as negates, I doubt it's as good as naturia runick.

Fenrir and Unicorn being free level 7 bodies that are annoying to play around and can be reborned off of birth. Any level 3 tuner makes Baronne with a spend negate turning back into either monster.
Tear Kash and Scare Kash are decks that can synergy instead of being a mish-mash as Fenrir or the new field spell can add a monster from either archetype.
Armed Tomaslop is about to get way stronger.
I thought Kash Tears (the deck mix) was just a meme, or at least that's what my friend said. I forget the exact reasoning but I assume it's something along the lines of Tears being mill focused and Kash not doing anything when milled (unless you mill Kashtiratheosis with Arise-Heart on the field or something).
You just play the kashtira cards that search Kashtira Tearlament like the field spell and fenrir, and use that as a starter or extender in tear, with the added benefit of fenrir just being a good card. Some builds also play unicorn to search birth incase you mill fenrir later, but at that point you're adding a lot more bad mills. A proper mix wouldn't work since the 2 decks basically counter each other.
Nothing is ever a meme for tear though, they can genuinely get away with playing anything and it will just work. Even really bad archetypes like mikankos and destiny heroes are miles better in tear than their own deck.

You just playing the ritual broad, the quickplay, and the equip that steals monsters. Using the rituals search then discard can trigger tearlament effects, then you can use the quickplay to summon the ritual, steal an opponent's monster if they have one, then just use the ritual and some level 6, like a bystial if your opponent dared stop your tear fusions, or a garura or diviner you have on hand to make beatrice.
Hey Purrelygays I got a question: you never ever discard Yeap! because you wanna Noir in case something goes wrong with Plump right?
If you can make Noir during your turn, you don't necessarily need Leap and can discard it for a Memory if needed. It also has a fringe use of being able to return your Main Deck Purrely to dodge a Bystial if you go first or Called By and D.D. Crow going second.

It's decent but very overrated
It's Reinforcement of the Army for Yu-Gi-Oh cards. The only reason it isn't in every single deck in paper at the moment is because it's $100 for a single copy.

You know how sometimes you don't draw the out? Well now you can have another 3 copies of it.
Pretty strong in a best of 3 scenario because it can really add consistency to non-searchable side deck cards such as board breakers or floodgates like Dimensional Barrier. It's main decked just because going first you can get some utility out of it going first if you get hand trapped. Because of this I'm not sure how strong it will be in a Bo1 scenario. It might be nice to search extenders, but unless you get gamma'd you can't activate the card turn 1, and running a hypothetical "Thrust package" is a lot harder in a wider meta. D-Barrier for instance won't even hit Labrynth or D-Link. It's good if you want to play board breakers like lightning storm, Evenly, IKS, or even a regular Triple Tactics, but main decks are already clogged with the Maxx C package in this format. You don't have to immediately craft 3 of them but I think it'll be strong in dedicated going second strategies like Numeron and Mikanko.

Anyone play Purrely here? Got any pro tips for a beginner? I've lost a few matches now to the timer, and can't tell if it's just me not knowing the deck, having toggle ON constantly, or it being complicated enough that it really does take up a large portion of the timer. I like the discard engine builds, feels unstoppable when it gets going. Right now I'm just playing Noir turbo and cutiesprite gambling but how do I better utilize the other Purrely Xyz cards?
epurrely beauty and happiness is an OTK combo if you have delicious memory in hand to make their monster immune to battle destruction
plump attach effect is non target banish so it's a good answer for the mikanko menace which can also combo into said otk
as for timer it just means you need to keep playing and continue to familiarize yourself with the deck. less hesitation on choices = less timer drain
