In Synchrons, the easiest way to go about it is summon Supernova, Trigger Converging Wishes, Brotaur adds Stardust Trail and Wheel summons her, you make The Crimson Dragon and then you got your Quasar and mats to continue climbing

Sometimes there are alternative versions of the cards, although it's just a different artwork that you can get randomly in packs, they are available for a month and then they are gone forever.

Why did they kill purrely so harshly and so fast? Compare that shit to how long they allowed Spright, Runick, Tear, and now Branded to dominate unopposed. Even the initial problem decks like Virtual World (VFD turbo) and Drytroon (coinflip alt+f4 abuse turbo) took them like a year to address.
They didn't kill purrely, they just made it less consistent. You simply don't just go full combo all game every game because every card is a starter anymore.
Besides, they still have support coming, they're fine.

A well timed Imperm, Droplet or Chalice does frick up Branded quite a bit. As does Ghost Belle since the deck abuses GY - Hand recursion so often.

That's not the point. I mean, if the idea with these overtuned skills is to make decks that would otherwise be unplayable work, then it often succeeds even if it makes the deck toxic or dull.
I think a better example is the Mayakashi skill that gives you the additional extra deck cards and some grave set-up so you don't time out during your normal plays. It just adapts the decks playstyle to make it more comfortable in the Speed format.
It could be used to get a fire to your hand and maybe do Jet Synchron plays, but the rule of thumb for when Diabellstar is good in a deck is when their own engine contains a level 1 fire.

The R-ACE 2nd wave is 2 cards of which 1 is limited in the OCG so it's entirely possible they aren't URs. We never get told about what cards are coming beforehand unless they're URs.
Generally they don't make cards they banned/limited IRL UR unless they don't plan to ban/limit them in MD like Elf, or they release pre-hit like Wraitsoth/Perlereino.
I think purrely might have been legitimately the most oppressive deck in a long while when you think about it. Your towers is also disruption, and it's again, a towers. You can just park your ass on it until your opponent is at a chokepoint. If you don't goober up and get baited into wasting your spins and they didn't open a kaiju you literally just win.

Purrely isn't like that. Once Noir gets under 5 mats she becomes vulnerable, so Purrely players tend to be conservative with their spins and let shit go that they probably shouldn't.
The entire reason Tusk ran the Ghostrick engine is because one Noir simply isn't enough walling.

There's the flaw with your argument. You have to run bad side deck cards to deal with Kash, whereas I didn't have to run any specific cards to deal with Purrely and could grind through Noir just fine.
"Kash dies to X" but you are still forced to run shitty X and make your deck objectively worse against everything else in the game
TTT is not a bad card and Kurikara was also useful against Purrely at the time since she could eat any Noir who used the Sleepy draw effect.

Solemn Judgment, HFD, and Raigeki are bad cards because they are coinflip dependant. The game has progressed to the point that running these cards in the main deck can brick you into a loss.
Talents is a meme card that provides the illusion of utility. The monster steal is ass compared to the handrip and the handrip is only good if you get Maxx "C"'d and successfully negate it. Draw 2 is used the most shows how cumbersome Talents is to use on the regular ladder.
Ash, Maxx, Imperm don't care about what turn it is. To a lesser extent Called, and even lesser extent Evenly don't care so much either. These form the bulk of staples you see in the bo1.

I ran Thunder Dragons during the Oct DC Cup and Kashtira was by far the harder deck to deal with than Purrely.
To speak nothing of going first, going second you can disrupt Purrely simply by chain blocking Plump. Thunder Dragondark was free in-engine disruption.
Bystials, Droplet also let you dodge Noir's spins while My Friend was also a prime Ash target.
Kashtira is unlike any other shifter deck in that anything that interacts with banish is bad against it. Floo, TD, Exosister, Branded all cannot handle Kashtira. It's incomparable with Purrely.

Anime became way too mainstream, even MTG is adding waifus more often than in the past, but it's also way more noticeable on Ganker because it's an anime board and most people here are coomers, so you're probably going to see a lot of waifu cards in the OPs.
Here are a few meta decks for master duel that have almost no waifu cards, it's not like all decks have them or must play them to be good.

I did that.... uhhhh time is blending together... about october of 2022 and your best bet is to look up a semi-competent deck (mine back then was tri-brigade) that isn't too complex but that is new, and then you go from there.
it'll let you win some games and get some gems, and it'll teach you the basics of the game as it is now, buy a structure deck, I'd recommend dragonmaids, ninja, salamangreat, or blackwings.
Dragonmaids are simple and don't much use the new mechanics so ti won't teach you as much but won't be overwhelming. Salamangreat teaches you to link climb and about link summons, and how to build a board/combo too. Ninja is a control deck and will teach you about interrupting your opponent's plays (pretty complex one), blackwings is a combo deck entirely based on synchro summons so you'll do a lot of those.

I think a simple deck to start with is Swordsoul, when you start make sure to complete most of the Solo content first and start filling out your mission list, as a new player you will get a shit ton of gems just by completing missions, you should be able to replicate this list and more.
They also sell bundles with important cards in the shop, buy those first and see if you unlock the Swordsoul pack, then only pull from the Swordsoul pack, if you don't unlock it, you can unlock it by crafting an SR or UR Swordsoul monster.

The main difference is that Yugioh became archetype based. In the past it had a lot of waifu cards, but basic deck building meant that you would run your Dark Elf alongside whatever other good monsters you had. Nowadays if Dark Elf were a new card they would give it a bunch of synergy with Mystical Elf and Gemini Elf, so anyone who wanted to use them would make their whole deck full of cute girls. They stand out far more as a result.
There are certainly more waifu-esque archetypes nowadays, but they were always there from the beginning. You just see them more because Ganker is full of coomers
I wish if you unlocked an alt art you could apply it to all your cards.
So if I buy the blue eyes bundle I can apply the based art to other copies of blue eyes.

pulled the syncro ur and the magic ur from mighty contenders while chasing starfrost and kinda want the dust so I can finally get baronne le fluer, but I pulled 3 of the spell cards so if the deck is useful I have a base to build from.
Mannadium requires the URs you have plus about 80% of the URs for Scareclaw and a few from Kashtira and Tearlaments. It is one of the most expensive decks in the game and ends on generics.
if you were building scareclaw but pulling on the selection pack for visas instead of just pulling the scareclaw secret pack then you might as well keep the mannadium stuff since you'll have like 10 scareclaw cards in a mannadium deck anyway
you can can also build it similar to this, but ultimately this deck hasn't received support in a decade and is SHIT (but not as shit as roids)

I haven't played Worms but I tried using it in other flip decks and my experience was that using an unsearchable trap which is worthless without having other cards set up goes about as poorly as you would expect.
Anyway, if you want a different way to use Worms you could use Prediction Princess to like, summon Worm Victory and flip it as a quick effect. But you'd be better off using the standard Prediction Princess flips like Weasel+Guard Dog or Pot of the Forbidden instead.

Handtraps are a bigger problem, since they make combo decks impossible to balance without pushing the power level further. Then again, Joshua Schmidt is a stun player, so of course he hates combo.

That's not the point. I mean, if the idea with these overtuned skills is to make decks that would otherwise be unplayable work, then it often succeeds even if it makes the deck toxic or dull.
I think a better example is the Mayakashi skill that gives you the additional extra deck cards and some grave set-up so you don't time out during your normal plays. It just adapts the decks playstyle to make it more comfortable in the Speed format.

Solemn Judgment, HFD, and Raigeki are bad cards because they are coinflip dependant. The game has progressed to the point that running these cards in the main deck can brick you into a loss.
Talents is a meme card that provides the illusion of utility. The monster steal is ass compared to the handrip and the handrip is only good if you get Maxx "C"'d and successfully negate it. Draw 2 is used the most shows how cumbersome Talents is to use on the regular ladder.
Ash, Maxx, Imperm don't care about what turn it is. To a lesser extent Called, and even lesser extent Evenly don't care so much either. These form the bulk of staples you see in the bo1.

I did that.... uhhhh time is blending together... about october of 2022 and your best bet is to look up a semi-competent deck (mine back then was tri-brigade) that isn't too complex but that is new, and then you go from there.
it'll let you win some games and get some gems, and it'll teach you the basics of the game as it is now, buy a structure deck, I'd recommend dragonmaids, ninja, salamangreat, or blackwings.
Dragonmaids are simple and don't much use the new mechanics so ti won't teach you as much but won't be overwhelming. Salamangreat teaches you to link climb and about link summons, and how to build a board/combo too. Ninja is a control deck and will teach you about interrupting your opponent's plays (pretty complex one), blackwings is a combo deck entirely based on synchro summons so you'll do a lot of those.

buy the bundles. Think a bit before you invest into an actual deck I'd say, swordsoul is simple and mega linear so IDK how much you'd even learn but it's strong. Up to you really. I'd try 3x of your structure deck of choice until it doesn't cut it.
Buy 3 tho and make your own deck or copy a list, don't buy 1 and play as is.
The main difference is that Yugioh became archetype based. In the past it had a lot of waifu cards, but basic deck building meant that you would run your Dark Elf alongside whatever other good monsters you had. Nowadays if Dark Elf were a new card they would give it a bunch of synergy with Mystical Elf and Gemini Elf, so anyone who wanted to use them would make their whole deck full of cute girls. They stand out far more as a result.
There are certainly more waifu-esque archetypes nowadays, but they were always there from the beginning. You just see them more because Ganker is full of coomers

I haven't played Worms but I tried using it in other flip decks and my experience was that using an unsearchable trap which is worthless without having other cards set up goes about as poorly as you would expect.
Anyway, if you want a different way to use Worms you could use Prediction Princess to like, summon Worm Victory and flip it as a quick effect. But you'd be better off using the standard Prediction Princess flips like Weasel+Guard Dog or Pot of the Forbidden instead.

Combo Decks - Yu-Gi-Oh!'s Epic Problem
Handtraps are a bigger problem, since they make combo decks impossible to balance without pushing the power level further. Then again, Joshua Schmidt is a stun player, so of course he hates combo.

I've even played through 3-4 negate boards because every card is bait if you save your last BF searcher. Also, I don't know why I keep drawing Maxx C, Crossout or CBTG despite running a 60 card deck.

Not really. Your best bet is to figure what is good and learn how to pilot a good deck against the metagame. You can use solo mode to practice your routes.

I think a simple deck to start with is Swordsoul, when you start make sure to complete most of the Solo content first and start filling out your mission list, as a new player you will get a shit ton of gems just by completing missions, you should be able to replicate this list and more.
They also sell bundles with important cards in the shop, buy those first and see if you unlock the Swordsoul pack, then only pull from the Swordsoul pack, if you don't unlock it, you can unlock it by crafting an SR or UR Swordsoul monster.
