In pure zoodiacs the combo does next to nothing because their extra deck is so tight they can't fit any meaningful bosses to end on. At least UFD or apollousa and at most some garbage tri-brig engine with ferrijit, bearbrum and shuraig.
And as an engine it's just too costly to run 3+ main deck bricks for a beast-warrior search that dies to nib and doesn't have any decent search targets and lord knows how many extra deck bricks since you didn't even include the zoo cards you need to death for the effects. Which easily bumps the investment into almost half your extra deck.
Not even including that nib and maxx C cook this play alive.

Snake eyes isn't even meme playable without poplar, the level 1 that enables diabelle. Infernoble is Isolde turbo, so skip it if you don't want to craft 2 Isolde, and she's not in pack.

That effect is very good in certain decks, but people are using it because it revives their level 2 tuner (usually gamma) and then they can make Baronne. So it makes Baronne a lvl 8 synchro for some decks basically.
Most decks don't bother making anything on the opponent's turn, meaning having OG Stardust Dragon is pointless. If anything, it's more risky as they could Call By the ASSD

Diabellestar coming this early was already surprising, but seems similar to like the Ishizu stuff coming early where it'll lead to different meta impact than it did in OCG/TCG where maybe R-ACE becomes playable but not tier 1 yet, and they can trickle out the other fire support to make it more expensive, but Poplar coming just means that'll probably be the best deck, right?

Easily splashable omni negate trap searcher(probably won't be super common), and fire decks get 50 extra copies of One for One.
So until the good fire decks get added it won't do a ton but you'll probably want to get her cards anyway.

Diabellstar engine is 3 more ways to special summon Hydrant. It will make the deck a lot more playable since we can drop Naganaki and Piri Reis.
I'm going to miss using Naganaki's GY effect to add back a face down banished R-Ace card that you used as a Small World Bridge, but it'll be nice to have the deck playable without being super bricky or tier 0.
Infernoble is literally at full power tomorrow. It is the real threat. R-Ace literally doesn't have 2 of it's most important interruptions. Only reason R-Ace would see any success is if most of a tour play it just for it being new and hype.

No regrets. I have 10k gems right now and am unsure what I should build. I have Mikanko, Vanquish Soul, Exosisters and like 3 other decks at 80% completion but I kinda want a real ritual deck and I'm too unsure about my lists for the above.
What archetypes do you enjoy (keep in mind I'll probably strip out the non main archetype cards that are added eg I took out the Fenrirs and ED stuff from Vanquish Soul)
Thunder dragons was the first deck I've ever piloted. Rank8/Gren maju was a blast to play with before the severe power creep. Bone Tower Mill is there for Synchro event.
Time Thieves, Icejades, Ritual Dogmatika, Runick Plunder, Runick Fur Hire, and @Ignister (Though I'd argue this one is tiered if you don't go for The Arrival Cyberse).
Some of them are actually decent, but all of them teach an important lesson about why meta decks are meta. Not all of them are fun, unfortunately. Ritual Dogmatika is a recent favorite though. With Lulu and Nadir unlimited they've got some insane tools for going first and second. Garura turns Nadir into Mobilize Engage, N'tss means it's good going second, Luluwalilith and Granguignol let you play what I call "Fleur turbo" where you just summon all forms of Fleurdelis on your field in one turn. You can even do shit like adding Maximus to bin Titaniklad and Albion to summon the Iris Swordsoul or Ecclesia in the endphase and set a live Branded Retribution. Not going to pretend it's a meta deck or anything, you'd be surprised how often decks can plus from losing 10 ED cards, but for a pet deck it's remarkably competent and has a lot of room for customization and inventive play going both first and second.
I've got 3600 gems at the moment. Should I keep doing solo missions, or do I have enough to buy something that's better than my current starter deck? And if so, what would be a generally good to start with?

Nobody is going to recommend Cyber Dragons, especially when you're actually buying Cyberdarks since you'd need to craft Infinity/Nova/Sieger/Chimeratechs, you buy that if you liked the deck before or if you really like the aesthetic, your starter deck has no impact on what you should play first

Deck suggestion.
Start with Labrynth. It has a secret pack, is fairly strong, versatile, can teach you about the game and easily able to reach m1.
It also has a low skill floor but decently high skill ceiling.
Just please don't craft 3 n'tss or chaos angels.
Deck Editor, search for a Labyrnth card, click on How To Obtain to see that it has a secret pack, craft it and it unlocks the secret pack for 24 hours (not long enough for you to pull fricking anything with now less than 3000 gems so don't do it)
You can unlock secret packs by either randomly pulling(don't try to do this) or crafting one SR(do this) or UR from that pack. Not every card is in a secret pack so make sure it actually has one first. Also don't build a deck you know nothing about just because a single anon tells you to(even though his post is accurate). But you should build a deck if you think the monsters in it are frickable, so Labrynth is still a good choice.

Not unless you are already going to BUY SALAMANGREATS or one of the other structure decks recommended or something, getting a bunch of random cards + 1 staple is not exactly a deck
You should get an actual deck first and then add them to it, yeah. They're something you 100% want to buy at some point and put in 99% of your decks forever. But just having them in your collection without a real deck to put them in is pointless.
I'd also say the Triple Tactics Talents, Effect Veiler and maybe Nibiru ones are worth getting regardless of the deck you want to play. All the bundles are good but some of them are more deck/meta dependent. Maybe hold off on TTT and Nibiru until you've ranked up a bit since they require your opponent to do stuff so if you're in low ranks they will be less good.
Your should try to have to have something like this as your first build of Labrynth. Only 8 core URs, and the 2 bundles. If you decide to not buy the URs yet, add in more Dogmatika Punishments or Torrential Tributes. Your endgoal is to be more like the decks in masterduelmeta.

3 copies of the Ninja, Blackwing, or Salamangreat with a handful of UR crafts(mainly the ones you'd want for every deck) are enough to get you into Master rank. Maybe Master 1 if you're good at the game and willing to grind.
Get one of those until you know enough about the game to decide what you really want.
Swordsoul is by far the easiest to learn, and cheapest deck that doesn't suck, ignoring Labr, but Labr requires braincell that is too much for the average Ganker poster to pilot. Only small issue with Swordsoul is that it is getting a SD sometime soon, maybe, so it might not be the best use of your gems, but dumping it in Swordsoul now is probably still better than wasting 1.5k gems on Salad. I disagree with Salad because the deck unironically just sucks and also probably too complicated for newbies to handle.

It's a Glossy, it does nothing besides be shiny and give you some extra crafting points if you dismantle it, which you don't need for N/R cards
SR/UR cards can be Royal, which are extra shiny and give you even more points if you dismantle them

Not really. Lab doesn't take a ton of skills but just blindly activating cards or going for combos will get you killed if your opponent has any kind of punish. Timing disruptions in that deck is pretty important. Also if you ask this thread every deck is a troony deck. The word doesn't mean anything.

Its a control deck that can get really crazy advantage along with constant handripping. ED space is personally bad for me since I like putting in the fun tech choices but Verte is still probably the most optimal to go once you've been interrupted, and also Shining Neos Wingman for when it finally comes.
Snake-Eyes is about to release (maybe tomorrow?) and will be safe for a long time going forward

Almost every match was against 60 cards Branded( which is extremely easy to identify), so I just made Bagooska every time and kept winning
The new pass is gonna stay there for a while, but the new cards tomorrow will introduce more variance in the meta, so climbing these days while basically every match is Branded was much easier
This is true. The early climb is relatively easier because even though you're technically facing the people who make it to Master I every season there is less variance. When the new pack comes in, you're suddenly facing lots of decks where you don't know the match ups.

Mikanko OTK is painful to play in Branded+SHS meta. Don't pull shitty packs to dismantle. Like 75% of your URs will be stuff you don't want anyway so pull for something you do want and dismantle the rest to build your UR points for Mikanko eventually. Also you'll get a bunch of UR points from the duel pass. Also maybe they reprint one of the Mikanko URs in the pack that has Arahime+Spirit Walk.
In other words: Be patient.

Furniture limits unironically make it harder to search a trap turn one. There's little point running virus.
You can ditch droll for crow. Considering how much Branded there is compared to SHS, crow might actually be better right now.
Nadir package is damn good in the deck. Even if you draw Ecclessia, you can discard her with a furniture to make Nadir live. Probably should have two birds, but I'm too cheap to craft one more.
Glad someone else here is picking up on the Nadir tech for Lab. I personally run 1 Fleur as a secondary target but it's great as a card going first or second since you can grab Punishment off Ecclesia if you don't have any other normal summon and it allows you to bin Garura for a free draw. One of the best spells ever printed and highly underrated as an advantage engine in decks that don't care about their ED, or can afford to resolve it after finishing the rest of their plays.
It also forces the opponent to think about using Ash. People have taught themselves to save the ash for welcome or big welcome, but if they let Nadir go, you get one monster, one draw, and one trap search. And if they use it, your welcomes are free next turn.
Unless they drew two ashes, in which case they are just more skilled than you.

And as an engine it's just too costly to run 3+ main deck bricks for a beast-warrior search that dies to nib and doesn't have any decent search targets and lord knows how many extra deck bricks since you didn't even include the zoo cards you need to death for the effects. Snake eyes isn't even meme playable without poplar, the level 1 that enables diabelle. Infernoble is Isolde turbo, so skip it if you don't want to craft 2 Isolde, and she's not in pack.

That effect is very good in certain decks, but people are using it because it revives their level 2 tuner (usually gamma) and then they can make Baronne. So it makes Baronne a lvl 8 synchro for some decks basically.
Most decks don't bother making anything on the opponent's turn, meaning having OG Stardust Dragon is pointless. If anything, it's more risky as they could Call By the ASSD

Diabellstar engine is 3 more ways to special summon Hydrant. It will make the deck a lot more playable since we can drop Naganaki and Piri Reis.

I'm going to miss using Naganaki's GY effect to add back a face down banished R-Ace card that you used as a Small World Bridge, but it'll be nice to have the deck playable without being super bricky or tier 0.

Infernoble is literally at full power tomorrow. It is the real threat. R-Ace literally doesn't have 2 of it's most important interruptions. Only reason R-Ace would see any success is if most of a tour play it just for it being new and hype.

Infernoble is good, but "real threat" is pushing it. It's going be Mannadium level.
Turbulence pass alone is pretty damn potent. And with people cutting Imperm for Droll the deck will be plenty playable pre-Emergency/Preventer.
90% of the combos need phoenix blade and MD trannies are unable to think by themselves and will get fricked netdecking.

Thunder dragons was the first deck I've ever piloted. Rank8/Gren maju was a blast to play with before the severe power creep. Bone Tower Mill is there for Synchro event.

Time Thieves, Icejades, Ritual Dogmatika, Runick Plunder, Runick Fur Hire, and @Ignister (Though I'd argue this one is tiered if you don't go for The Arrival Cyberse).
Some of them are actually decent, but all of them teach an important lesson about why meta decks are meta. Not all of them are fun, unfortunately. Ritual Dogmatika is a recent favorite though. With Lulu and Nadir unlimited they've got some insane tools for going first and second. Garura turns Nadir into Mobilize Engage, N'tss means it's good going second, Luluwalilith and Granguignol let you play what I call "Fleur turbo" where you just summon all forms of Fleurdelis on your field in one turn. You can even do shit like adding Maximus to bin Titaniklad and Albion to summon the Iris Swordsoul or Ecclesia in the endphase and set a live Branded Retribution. Not going to pretend it's a meta deck or anything, you'd be surprised how often decks can plus from losing 10 ED cards, but for a pet deck it's remarkably competent and has a lot of room for customization and inventive play going both first and second.

Nobody is going to recommend Cyber Dragons, especially when you're actually buying Cyberdarks since you'd need to craft Infinity/Nova/Sieger/Chimeratechs, you buy that if you liked the deck before or if you really like the aesthetic, your starter deck has no impact on what you should play first
Cyber Dragon is only good for Cyber Dragon, Salamangreat serves as a springboard to other Link decks that use the same cards.

Here's a budget Salamangreat deck with no SR/UR in maindeck and only N/R crafts in maindeck. Ash/Imperm were guaranteed and Monster Reborn/Raigeki were solo mode rewards.
The only UR craft is Accesscode in the extra deck every other craft is a SR and a staple in other decks except Miragestallio.
Deck suggestion.
Start with Labrynth. It has a secret pack, is fairly strong, versatile, can teach you about the game and easily able to reach m1.
It also has a low skill floor but decently high skill ceiling.
Just please don't craft 3 n'tss or chaos angels.

Deck Editor, search for a Labyrnth card, click on How To Obtain to see that it has a secret pack, craft it and it unlocks the secret pack for 24 hours (not long enough for you to pull fricking anything with now less than 3000 gems so don't do it)

ash, maxx c and imperm are all cards that a majority of decks use in them, they're the first UR cards you should probably get when you can
You should get an actual deck first and then add them to it, yeah. They're something you 100% want to buy at some point and put in 99% of your decks forever. But just having them in your collection without a real deck to put them in is pointless.
I'd also say the Triple Tactics Talents, Effect Veiler and maybe Nibiru ones are worth getting regardless of the deck you want to play. All the bundles are good but some of them are more deck/meta dependent. Maybe hold off on TTT and Nibiru until you've ranked up a bit since they require your opponent to do stuff so if you're in low ranks they will be less good.
Your should try to have to have something like this as your first build of Labrynth. Only 8 core URs, and the 2 bundles. If you decide to not buy the URs yet, add in more Dogmatika Punishments or Torrential Tributes. Your endgoal is to be more like the decks in masterduelmeta.
Should throw in Skull Wagon in ED
You can unlock secret packs by either randomly pulling(don't try to do this) or crafting one SR(do this) or UR from that pack. Not every card is in a secret pack so make sure it actually has one first. Also don't build a deck you know nothing about just because a single anon tells you to(even though his post is accurate). But you should build a deck if you think the monsters in it are frickable, so Labrynth is still a good choice.
I suggest this guide, it's still accurate.
3 copies of the Ninja, Blackwing, or Salamangreat with a handful of UR crafts(mainly the ones you'd want for every deck) are enough to get you into Master rank. Maybe Master 1 if you're good at the game and willing to grind.
Get one of those until you know enough about the game to decide what you really want.
Swordsoul is by far the easiest to learn, and cheapest deck that doesn't suck, ignoring Labr, but Labr requires braincell that is too much for the average Ganker poster to pilot. Only small issue with Swordsoul is that it is getting a SD sometime soon, maybe, so it might not be the best use of your gems, but dumping it in Swordsoul now is probably still better than wasting 1.5k gems on Salad. I disagree with Salad because the deck unironically just sucks and also probably too complicated for newbies to handle.

Defend the castle doesn’t mean field spell dependent. Defend the castle means that your entire play hinges in one card that must remain on the field NO MATTER WHAT. Genex is the most recent example of this.

Not really. Lab doesn't take a ton of skills but just blindly activating cards or going for combos will get you killed if your opponent has any kind of punish. Nah not really, its mostly combogays malding and projecting(the true and literal troony deck is Rikka, a combo deck). Lab's usually played by horny fricks/waifugays. Its a control deck that can get really crazy advantage along with constant handripping. It can otk because every decent deck can, and can abuse 2 specific floodgates in Eradicator Epidemic Virus and Dimensional Barrier.
Lab core is a minimum 8-10 UR.

Not really, the issue is it's a selection pack which expires at the end of the month. So if you wanted to play Snake-Eyes or any of it's variants you'll need to grab the cards now while you can.
meta decks change every 3 months but you don't need those if you just want to play rank

This is true. The early climb is relatively easier because even though you're technically facing the people who make it to Master I every season there is less variance. When the new pack comes in, you're suddenly facing lots of decks where you don't know the match ups.

Mikanko OTK is painful to play in Branded+SHS meta. Don't pull shitty packs to dismantle. Like 75% of your URs will be stuff you don't want anyway so pull for something you do want and dismantle the rest to build your UR points for Mikanko eventually. Also you'll get a bunch of UR points from the duel pass. Also maybe they reprint one of the Mikanko URs in the pack that has Arahime+Spirit Walk.
In other words: Be patient.

You can ditch droll for crow. Considering how much Branded there is compared to SHS, crow might actually be better right now.
Nadir package is damn good in the deck. Even if you draw Ecclessia, you can discard her with a furniture to make Nadir live. Probably should have two birds, but I'm too cheap to craft one more.
Oh, and Rainbow magician is largely pointless unless you face exactly SHS, but getting the attack boost is funny.
Glad someone else here is picking up on the Nadir tech for Lab. I personally run 1 Fleur as a secondary target but it's great as a card going first or second since you can grab Punishment off Ecclesia if you don't have any other normal summon and it allows you to bin Garura for a free draw. One of the best spells ever printed and highly underrated as an advantage engine in decks that don't care about their ED, or can afford to resolve it after finishing the rest of their plays.
It also forces the opponent to think about using Ash. People have taught themselves to save the ash for welcome or big welcome, but if they let Nadir go, you get one monster, one draw, and one trap search. And if they use it, your welcomes are free next turn.
Unless they drew two ashes, in which case they are just more skilled than you.
