One thing that I noticed is that the ladder in the event is rigged. If you don't play loaner you will have more opponnents that are the same and if you do play loaners you usually match up loaner decks.

Im used this and I did well. Santa is great for Chaos Max and you can out Tachyon or whatever the Galaxy eyes with three heads its called with Iron Digger.
I used this and it went very well. I did not summon anything from the extra deck a single time besides the ninja monsters though, too hard to go for accesscode/borrelsword OTK without cross sheep and everything else is just super situational.

I don't remember any specific video, but I watched various combo guides when I first started. The basics is just hanzo > duplication > maizen etc etc. I love using tributing my opponent's face down monsters with dancing leaves. And jioh carries games, of course. Personally, I like to only flip one monster face down, and then flip jioh down again so I can use it again next turn. Shit wins games by himself.
Hanzo normal summon search one of the missing ninjitsu arts, ending in Hanzo plus Duplication and Dancing Leaves its the most basic stuff.
If you're stuck you can do something like
>Upstar Golden Ninja
>send one of the Ninjitzu traps
>summon Baku
>get back the trap you dump for cost back to your hand
>link into Master Siazo, search the ninjitsu card you need

>Dancing Leaves when your opponent summons two critical pieces
>summon Jioh and flip them face down
>then use Dulpication to get Hanzo, Mitzu and two Tobaries "one face down) for a monster negate, use the face up Tobari and fusion summon Yaguramaru or Meizen according to your needs.
I hate the term but Ninja combos feel very "organic" you do them on the fly and feel natural. Main problem you gotta be aware are

Two things, Deep-Eyes needs a dragon in the grave and the SS effect is a When, meaning it must happen immediately after the condition is met. Did you lock yourself into an effect and did something happen after your monster died?
Nope, nothing interesting was going on. Only effect that came up was Jet Dragon. I thought it might've been my activation settings, but it did trigger a turn before when a normal BE or something was destroyed, but AFAIK Chaos Maxx is supposed to trigger it too, hence I'm so confused.

personally i really like dm case, sleeves, icon border, but the blue eyes field and its parts are much better and the icon border and sleeves arent too bad either, i see those bundles as mostly good bonuses to getting 3 10 pulls, i got lucky and got 5 UR (1 being something i wanted but didnt want to craft) some other anon got 7 UR and 1 anon got 12 UR but also some poor fricks got 0 (ZERO) UR so you got to make peace with that possibility before you buy the bundles

Most decks don't need more than 8 archetype-specific URs and if you're lucky you don't just get 1 UR per pack (or 1 every 2 packs...) and yes you dust what you don't need

Some, but not all. Fire Kings in particular don't see a lot of play below Regional levels because of its costs. You're a lot more likely to see people running shit like Swordsoul, Kashtira, Labrynth, often times Tearlament decks, since they're just cheaper. And people can say what they want about Tear 0, but it was a financially cheap format to play in. Most expensive shit was Reinoheart and Perlereino, but both of those $90 were purely optional.
Sorry, my memory escaped me for a second there. Perlereino was a $90 card, while Reinoheart was a $16 card.
Point is that you could still afford to run the deck without them, and if you weren't stacking up on Bystials (which in addition to Perlereino made the deck reach several hundred dollars), it could be purchased for about the range of a budget deck ($40-70)
Not necessarily true. Tear was less expensive than this for sure but not cheap, certainly not your ballpark price of a SD like you said. A "budget" Tear list is not a real Tear list for high level play and a common complaint was that a deck being all a format played was alienating casuals in Japan.
it alienated the casual audience because multiple times per turn you'd be hitting CL9 or higher. The cost had nothing to do with it, and even then, the decklist at its highest cost was mostly just comprised of expensive bystials and some generic staples intended to counter the deck. The majority of the deck was cheap, and with only a handful of small compromises you could make it affordable.
The majority of FK is cheap too, $900 of it is literally just a package.
But still not cheap.
And no, the "small compromises" drastically took the power of the deck down. You can make budget anything and it's obviously going to be compromised. You did not want to have 1 planet, you wanted 3. You did not want a weaker sidedeck, you wanted a good one for the mirror match.
Anyway I'm not saying it's as crazy as the Fire meta's price, or Kash's price, just that it wasn't as cheap as you're making it out to be for the actual decks people played.
You should read my original post again. You're correct in that the topping decks were not cheap, which is something that I have already said. The majority of the decklist was extremely cheap though, and for everything under the top level of play, those compromises could be made. Perlereino was expensive but only necessary as a consistency tool to grab Reinoheart, which became less important after the Ishizu cards released in MAMA (which were also very cheap). A budget list is not a real Tear list, there's no way it's even comparable. The format was so hated that many stores literally said you were not allowed to play the deck on certain nights so that other people could have fun, and part of this was because of the cost. It was not $40-70 unless you literally cut 1/3rd of the deck for actual trash that only semi-worked because of how busted Tearshizu itself is, and how many cheaper decks people just shoved it into to give them some gas to try keeping up. No one enjoyed getting stomped by the lanklet amish-looking guy at my locals who had a full strength Tearshizu mess on his hands, budget lists couldn't compete even though the store is literally the size of an old movie rental place.

The casual audience was kept aback by the deck because of the extremely frequent high chainlink plays. Casual players despised the deck because they could just keep on playing through both player's turns and often reached extremely high chain links while they were doing it. Other such grievances were Turn 0 plays including Havnis and Dragostapelia shutting down Xyz and Synchro plays, and an Orange Light resolution triggering a fullcombo.

Yeah, this card is in one of the most expensive decks of all time. It's not a normal thing. I think a lot of DECKS most of the time fall into the 100-300 dollar range excluding staples. And in those cases you'll usually just take the hit on a playset of expensive cards because the rest of the deck is like 10 to 20 bucks so tcoo if you want to play a deck isn't absurd. Problem is more modern YGO moves so fast that putting that kind of money in just gets fricked, like not even reprints but your deck just ends up unplayable in like a year. If decks lasted long in this game I would call you poor for not being able to dump 100 to 300 bucks on a hobby with physical goods.

It's pretty normal for there to generic cards in the $80-120 price range. Not too long ago that was prosp and droplet, alongside an $85 baronne in the ED with a few other pricy staples. Yeah I specifically excluded staples as deck cost because most of the really expensive ones in my time since I started playing were never mandatory, just if you want to be regionals level competitive. A lot of hobbies have the buy-in price and then supplemental (like consoles and then more games), staples are like the buy-in and deck cores are the supplemental. It's just like I said it's more a problem that a deck's shelf life is so fricking short. I started out with Duel Devastator which I paid like 70 bucks a box for and then got a deck along side that and I coasted on that plus a couple more staples for a long time. Once you're established with the mandatory staples the cost of the game is less bullshit than it seems (but still bullshit). Normally you can just live without the generic cards like Chaos Angel that are 60 to 80 bucks. Much like the Baronne example, you either just don't play a Synchro deck or play the next best thing (Chengus was a common replacement even though they are way different cards) Right now S:P is the only truly problematic card pricing people out the game and I really hate that because a lot of people only see a single card being 100 bucks and don't think of an entire deck's tcoo. But even at my level of income, I don't think any one card that isn't a classic or luxury rarity (like Ultis and Starlight/QCR) should be over 20 bucks imo for the health of the game

The tcg is actually in a pretty good spot right now despite everyone complaining about the $900 fire deck shenanigans. Hardly anyone actually travels to tournaments outside of their locals, so they're fine playing shifter/macro cosmos/d. fissure to frick over the majority of fire players. It's kind of like tear format, only the tier 0 deck costs five times as much. But shit dude, it also means you can top with ghoti so I'm enjoying life at the moment.
Idk why they don't do it like OCG, where people buy the shit out of it anyway for the higher rarities that some cards come in but overall it stays affordable for people by including lower rarity versions. Pokemon TCG does this internationally and does fine.

Rarity Collection is basically a pile of good staples with rarities structured similar to how the OCG does things. Every card is available at every rarity, making it easy for plebs to get previously expensive staples at low rarities while still having high rarity versions of cards that'll attract the whales.

Extremely well. One of the best sets released in a long time. It was basically another tin but with a tighter pool of better cards.

The first Rarity Collection was a smash hit and sold like hotcakes. Probably their best set release ever thanks to it getting reprints of Baronne and Prosperity alongside high rarity versions of stuff like Ash Blossom and Imperm.
Rarity Collection was just a bunch of targeted reprints for high-value cards and a lot of general goodstuff. Every single pull feels good and it slaughtered a lot of prices on the secondary market, notably bringing Baronne down to a couple of bucks and TTT/Prosperity to single digit dollar values. They announced Rarity Collection II after the first one went really well, but my rrat is that they delayed the horrible 2P starter set so that they could put it together to deflect how horrible the 2P starter set was.
Picrel was some of my pulls. Everything but the three cards top-center are usable in my decks so I'm happy about it.
Also that Desires was a collector's rare, which I could hypothetically sell for $2 whole bucks if I were looking to sell it. What it really means is that I get a set of max rarity Desires for 4 bucks including this card.

They were so fricking lazy with it that they didn't even bother to replace the Maxx C they took out (since it's banned in the TCG) and left it at 79 cards, which is why the second collection is also 79 cards.
The funny thing is that this wasn't even Konami of America being "based", it was literally them just doing what the OCG has been doing for a fricking decade for once in their lives.

The water tenyi is almost always used as a plan B level 4 that can let you make synchro 8 plays as an alternative if you don't have mo ye

Mo ye's important effect can't be ashed. It gets hit by imperm or veiler. You can dodge with circle but circle is the card that's weak to ash. If your opponent opens with multiple hand traps you can end up fricked in this case, and this is currently a hand trap heavy format.
I don't play SS so I don't know exactly what's "correct." I think Sthana is typically seen as less optimal but it also does make for a decent back up. I'm just explaining the logic.

What deck are you playing?
Original noble Knights because that’s what I played 10 years ago. But I’ve been reading different decks and they all seem pretty complex. I’ve been enjoying the Anthology though.
Well, the game has changed a lot in the past 10 years.
First of all, forget everything you know about "costs" and "restrictions", forget everything you know about resource management or risk-reward. This is now like an anime fighter: it's all about 15-minute long flashy combos and strings.
All modern decks get to draw and search anything they want for free, special summon all they want for free and all cards in the GY (sometimes even banished cards) get their own special snowflake effects to protect cards on the field, search/draw more and/or special summon more shit.
With that in mind, most decks seem to be complex, but they aren't. In reality they all have very linear combo structures. Once you play a bit you get to memorize or at least get a feel for what's coming next.
Upgrade and play Infernoble Knights, they just released supports for them and they play pretty well.

You can pull the main cards (2 Link 1 Charles and 1 Synchro Emperor Charles) from the last pack released (Ride to the future), so that you can find also the snake -eyes / diabellestar cards that will be meta for a while. Also tomorrow the second event (Link Synchro) will start which is perfect for Infernoble so you can practice the deck there.
Play going second OTK or stun, they're simpler and completely intended playstyles by Konami.

Like every other deck, let them play going second.
Traps are beyond fricked with all the powercreep. The only way to make a trap deck playable is let them activate traps the turn they are set (lab) or give them a moronic floodgate that auto wins vs 90% of decks (dinomorphia).

Yes but Fire King/Snake-Eye is so strong that hardly anyone is playing the Rollback lock decks.
But Evenly with Rollback is moronic you get 2 Evenlys per turn

make a handtrap that allows you to use paleo cards from the hand for a turn
I have no idea how to play snake eyes. I just click butttons and so far I get wins if the opponent scoops before I click scoop
