Snake-eyes is just an engine to spam the board with links/synchros. It's why it gets mixed with rescue-ace/Fire king so it can actually have some main deck options.
sup bros I need assistance, let me explain the situation. my end goal is to build a playable snake eyes(hopefully asap before banlist) cause I wanna have fun with a meta deck. I have crafted 1x diabell and 2x wanted to test the engine and have some fun so that makes 3 ur already. I have 90 dust + royal altergeist im willing to dismantle(30) + a few other urs that could get me 30 more dust so that makes 90+60=5 ur for snake eyes.(hopefully I get some more ur dust from packs)
that brings me to 3ur I have +5 to craft =8ur
my dillema is I have 6.6k gems after clearing the event and I was looking to buy the blue eyes AND dark magician bundles. or I could spend the 6k gems on snake eyes pack and try to get more urs. I have 2 questions:
1-is snake eyes playable with 8-9urs?
2-should I buy the bundles and hope for more ur dust to get the 9th ur for snake eyes(if playable with 9 ur) or should I spend on the snake eyes bundle cause I need more than 9 ur? (not counting staple urs this is only archetype urs)
Don't go spending gems on blindly pulling master packs if you actually have a deck you want to play. The bundles are a fun way to get random UR cards to dust alongside a cool field/guaranteed royal if you play that deck, but they're not actually a great value. Unlike the staple bundles, you don't get better rates for your gems and you don't get any guaranteed useful cards. If you want to optimize your UR dust, just pull on the Snake Eyes banner because that has the highest chance of actually giving you the cards you need, which is equivalent to getting 3 random URs. Obviously it's luck dependent, but assuming you get an average amount of URs, 6k gems can get you a snake-eyes core and a playable deck alongside the staples you have.
Also, if you really want the bundles, they're going to be available for another month, and you can earn enough gems to buy them if you skip the next selection pack. They're also probably going to be re-run next year.
The blue yes and DM bundles are gonna be in the shop for another month anon. Finish up Snake eyes, get to M1, play the event next month, and use THOSE gems on the bundles if you want them.
Bundles might give you some URs to dismantle and even useful cards, so I'd start with that unless you're seriously in a rush. Also at least from my rolls for Snake Eyes on alt account, getting anything useful was pretty hard at 5k gems, so seems better to craft it anyway. Besides, you'll always be able to craft it while if you miss on buying the bundles, you'd have to wait another year.
Snake eyes is around 16 URs assuming you don't have the extra deck staples, if you do iirc it's 12. You don't need the DM/BEWD bundles, the fields suck and everyone will just think you fell for the scam (30 master packs, but no guaranteed URs lol lmao).
The obvious choice would be pulling on the snake eyes pack, BUT if you want the ash blossom alt art you could also "waste" your gems on it, i've spent 4k on it so far and i've gotten one alt art and about 12 URs, mostly dupes of shit i already have but that's still free dust.
Magical Musk is a control deck which strongest card wants for your opponent to have already set up AND have as much card advantage on field as possible.

Millennium eyes and toons I havent played but Millenium eyes seems actually bad (its a ritual deck for starters) and Toons is too easy to out since anyone and their grandma can just use Unicorn to shuffle it.
Master Duel never had the full Herald build of Tears that made it such a nightmare to face, that version would combo off Shifter, the one card that coud kill Tear
Shifter can still kill Snake-Eyes and they have no way to stop it
We never had full power Kashtira period. The strongest deck to ever exist in MD was Adventure Halqdon, everything else had pre-hits to weaken them even if those hits weren't enough

It'd be an interesting matchup. Certainly Snake Eyes has no capacity to go full combo on the opponent's turn like full power Tears could, but full power Snake Eyes is exceedingly hard to interrupt. Ishizu shufflers can hit their graveyard but Flamberge and Little Night also hurt Tears pretty hard because of the non-destruction removal. I think the biggest issue is just that Tears have so much more variety of interaction compared to other modern meta contenders. It has a bog-standard negate with Sulliak and Rukallos, graveyard interruption with the shufflers, a searchable omni counter trap, and premium level non-destruction interruption with Snow and Kaliedoheart.
Compared to the current meta and decks like Labrynth, VS, Voiceless Voice, etc are all much more focused in how they interrupt the opponent. Though of course Labrynth has a ton of side deck options due to the nature of being a normal trap deck.

Some version of Snake Eyes is currently tier 0 in IRL play right now, and moreso than Tearlaments was IIRC. The only thing holding them back in Master Duel is how relatively unexplored the strategy is without key consistency boosters like Bonfire and the Fire Kings support. But just from playing against it, the game's grind and combo game are insane and feels impossible to interrupt. They play around droll (for the most part) by summoning from the deck and play around ash by having a million routes to each card they need. Not to mention the kind of interaction they have that will only get better once Little Night gets released. Main decking Cosmic Cyclone might be the right choice just because if nothing else it hits them and some other decks like labrynth, but unfortunately it does almost nothing against SHS if you're going second. Like maybe you can banish the Scythe if they're on a Dadga line but they already got all the value they needed from their pend scales.
Part of me wonders if Snake Eyes got all their support early and entirely unhit just so Konami could dish out bans before the strategy gets to full power.
I'm STILL unsure if i go for snake shit because i've wasted like 8k gems and 400 UR dust to have PURRELY and they are unplayable now. I would not even be mad if they fall to like tier 3 or something, but MURDER is wrong

I got Master Rank once when it was introduced and then never again. There are way too many tryhards in Master and Diamond, I usually hang around Gold and Plat with mid power decks.

Played for ~6 months, I can get to D1 pretty consistently now but it's always a struggle towards the end. Feels more like a lucky winstreak that gets me over the edge rather than skill

For now, yes. The meta sucked hard. SHS was running around free, and since it was so damn boring, most of your matches were some flavor of branded, the deck that's been around for months where you play the game of ashing the branded fusion. Droll completely fricked over some decks, and you couldn't not run droll because there was always a chance you'd hit SHS. Snake Eye games are largely an improvement over all that. It will eventually overstay its welcome, but if you're not playing snake-eyes right now, you're missing out.

Deep Sea itself literally has no in-archetype wincon, the ED monsters are Water synchro enablers designed to summon generics like White Aura Whale.
Diva into Prima Donna/Repetiteur via Gurnards is literally their best play.
It makes sense thematically since they're a xenophobic, isolated city of artists and performers, but gameplaywise they're usually just an extra starter for decks like Icejade or Atlantean.

I only got back into the game with the release of MD, but from then until now, I would say my favorite meta was during the release of POTE in the TCG. Spright and Tear were fun before the Ishizu cards were introduced and fricked everything up.
my problem is with very specific cards. I would enjoy the game if it were not for very very specific cards and im not even talking about Max C when I say this.

MD is shit because SHS and Kash still exist and it's still a Maxx C format. TCG is really good right now. Even though Snake Eyes is dominating, they're a fair deck and fun to play against. Also they fold to what feels like any two handtraps so right now as long as your deck can run a bunch of non-engine you're at least playing yugioh when you lose.

That shit was stressful, I won with only 250 life points and only won because he harpies feather duster my back row which allowed me to lighting storm his back row, specifically the continuous spell that deals 200 damage each time you summon. I also only won because he was only running 2 copies each of the rank 2 evil twin links where I was running 3 each and he just ran out of steam on his final turn and couldn't push.

Idk what you're talking about but the blue one is weaker in unchained because its not a starter, it's an extender, similar to sarama. It does nothing in your hand and you usually rely on your other cards to get it into rotation during your combo.
It is pretty good once you actually bring it out though, the gy effect is nasty in more grindy games
Sharvy can pop Rollback or get a second trap in GY to copy in Labrynth. Unchained Lab typically just uses it.

If you special summon a monster from grave it remembers it was special summoned from grave, not through synchro, so you can't get it's materials because it has none

It's slowly starting to dawn on me that I don't like this game, I just like shiny cards of characters I like and laughing when my opponent is unable to do anything. Actually playing with my opponent makes me mad and I scoop at the earliest possible opportunity to stop them from playing any further.
Playing the meta is fine or fun even but playing decks below T2 or T3 is absolutely miserable.
I have a gishki deck that dies to any handtrap, it's so fricking bad playing 7+ games in a row and not opening called by or crossout. Or opening one but they opened both imperm and ash. And you meed to open more than just Grimness too, you need to open Grimness + salvage or focused aquamirror or shadow/visionary in order to actually go off. So your hand needs to be >Grimness/one for one/tuna princess >Crossout (called by can't stop imperm) >Salvage/searchers

Anon, the deck is only "rogue" in the sense that nobody is willing to sit through you playing it if they don't have an interruption. It's the very opposite of fun, literally nobody wants to play against it even though practically any deck that got support in the past five years can tear it a new butthole. The meta for T.G. is the opponent scooping before you can run out your own fricking counter by trying to summon your entire extra deck. It is not a deck that you "play" regardless of whether you can resolve your cards or not.
Many of which are once per turn the only ones I hard lose to are nibiru and I'll pass if I see maximum c. I've yet to be otk in Plat. I'm also not saying the decks amazing just it's not as bad as the anon that proclaimed its a dog shit game thinks
I agree, the deck is perfectly fine. It's just that it's not Mannadium/Snake-Eyes/Mathmech in which they can naturally play through like 2 well place handtraps and still end on some shit that you'll have to work to get the win.
But judging every deck you play against actual meta threats will lead to a shitty situation in which there's a bunch of fun still you won't bother with.
That's why I tried to tell that other anon a combo that I've beat several meta decks (according to masterduelmeta) with at the end of the day its all rng though. You can't win every game and I do think masterduel rigs hands for other people quite a bit in a not so subtle way

It's on the lower end of the top 5 decks, but that also means it's not on the radar for any banlist hits unless you count like Dimension Shifter randomly and justly being banned/limited.
So yes it's good, but you'd need to craft 9 URs minimum since it has no pack.
It's also very fun.

Kash in MD occupies this weird spot where it dumpsters every shitty rogue deck but gets dumpstered in turn by real actual meta deck. So it's insufferable to play against for casuals and it doesn't naturally climb the ranks the way shit like Tear, Purrely, SHS, Snake-Eyes have done. It just squats in Platinum ruining everyone's fun

Field spell, 2-3x Unicorn, 1x Fenrir, 1x Birth can be shoved into basically anything and at best it wins you the game alone and at worst it sucks up negates to clear the way for your real cards
Diabellstar is a one card starter even if you're not running Poplar or Snake Ash. It's nice to have multiple right now even if it's not as good as just drawing WANTED. 1 is definitely fine after EMERGENCY and Bonfire though.
to be honest it's not a particularly broken card. only problem is that we're in a fire meta so all of the already strong decks get to use it. once the fire slop fades you'll never see her anyway.
I want to thank all the Kashtira players who came out this season to expedite my run to Master 1 because those players were too lazy to think of anything to beat Snake-Eyes except D Shifter. Thank you for making my climb just that much less dependent on handtrap roulette and for the free wins.
maxx c is the only card in the game that you absolutely want to see in your opening hand every game, whether you go first or second. if you could run 10 copies, you'd run 10 copies.

There's little reason to run a non-engine card you can't search at anything but 3. Even to make your deck 40 for consistency over 41, Maxx C is just Upstart on steroids. If you can't cut anything else just run 41 cards.

Only players who have never done the math or netdeck OCG lists give this as a reason. The chances of drawing doubles of your 3 of is actually extremely low already, something like 3% vs a 1% chance if you play only 2. Taking a card from 3 to 2 that you can't search is reducing your chances of seeing it in your opening hand from 33% to 23%.
Think of all the people in these threads who cry "If Maxx C resolves against me and I don't have 2+ interruptions I just surrender there's nothing I can do", it's probably like 85% of the thread right, so against them Maxx C almost says "if this card resolves you win the duel"
Now if you think this is a popular opinion multiply that against the entire population of Master Duel, it would make sense to run 3 copies would you agree?
Yeah I've felt this way for a while. In the first place it hardly ever actually resolves. Everybody runs 3 ash and 2 called by since they're good against other stuff too. Your opponent literally has a 50% chance of opening an out to it. Even better odds if they've got any other outs like crossout. Sure you could bait out a called by first but that's only if you have more than 1 handtrap and even then that entails you potentially missing out on maxx c draws and your opponent could choose to simply not use their called by anyway. Not to mention that you'd have no way to play around ash.
This isn't as much of an issue when you drop maxx c on turn 2 after you built your board but most of the time maxx c is nothing but a win more card in that scenario anyway.
I think people really exaggerate how much of a win it is when it resolves too. A surprising amount of decks, and most notably nearly all meta decks, can set up something decent with a small amount of summons or just play on your turn. Yeah getting even a few draws is nice but hardly ever game deciding.
It's a great card when it resolves and your opponent ends on something completely worthless but that really just doesn't happen much. A lot of the time I legitimately wish I had opened a different handtrap.

I have crafted 1x diabell and 2x wanted to test the engine and have some fun so that makes 3 ur already. I have 90 dust + royal altergeist im willing to dismantle(30) + a few other urs that could get me 30 more dust so that makes 90+60=5 ur for snake eyes.(hopefully I get some more ur dust from packs)

my dillema is I have 6.6k gems after clearing the event and I was looking to buy the blue eyes AND dark magician bundles. or I could spend the 6k gems on snake eyes pack and try to get more urs. I have 2 questions:
1-is snake eyes playable with 8-9urs?
2-should I buy the bundles and hope for more ur dust to get the 9th ur for snake eyes(if playable with 9 ur) or should I spend on the snake eyes bundle cause I need more than 9 ur? (not counting staple urs this is only archetype urs)

Just try to build the deck and see what cards you're missing and if they're replaceable.
Don't go spending gems on blindly pulling master packs if you actually have a deck you want to play. The bundles are a fun way to get random UR cards to dust alongside a cool field/guaranteed royal if you play that deck, but they're not actually a great value. Unlike the staple bundles, you don't get better rates for your gems and you don't get any guaranteed useful cards. If you want to optimize your UR dust, just pull on the Snake Eyes banner because that has the highest chance of actually giving you the cards you need, which is equivalent to getting 3 random URs. Obviously it's luck dependent, but assuming you get an average amount of URs, 6k gems can get you a snake-eyes core and a playable deck alongside the staples you have.
Also, if you really want the bundles, they're going to be available for another month, and you can earn enough gems to buy them if you skip the next selection pack. They're also probably going to be re-run next year.
The blue yes and DM bundles are gonna be in the shop for another month anon. Finish up Snake eyes, get to M1, play the event next month, and use THOSE gems on the bundles if you want them.
Bundles might give you some URs to dismantle and even useful cards, so I'd start with that unless you're seriously in a rush. Also at least from my rolls for Snake Eyes on alt account, getting anything useful was pretty hard at 5k gems, so seems better to craft it anyway. Besides, you'll always be able to craft it while if you miss on buying the bundles, you'd have to wait another year.
Snake eyes is around 16 URs assuming you don't have the extra deck staples, if you do iirc it's 12. You don't need the DM/BEWD bundles, the fields suck and everyone will just think you fell for the scam (30 master packs, but no guaranteed URs lol lmao).
The obvious choice would be pulling on the snake eyes pack, BUT if you want the ash blossom alt art you could also "waste" your gems on it, i've spent 4k on it so far and i've gotten one alt art and about 12 URs, mostly dupes of shit i already have but that's still free dust.

It'd be an interesting matchup. Certainly Snake Eyes has no capacity to go full combo on the opponent's turn like full power Tears could, but full power Snake Eyes is exceedingly hard to interrupt. Ishizu shufflers can hit their graveyard but Flamberge and Little Night also hurt Tears pretty hard because of the non-destruction removal. I think the biggest issue is just that Tears have so much more variety of interaction compared to other modern meta contenders. It has a bog-standard negate with Sulliak and Rukallos, graveyard interruption with the shufflers, a searchable omni counter trap, and premium level non-destruction interruption with Snow and Kaliedoheart.
Compared to the current meta and decks like Labrynth, VS, Voiceless Voice, etc are all much more focused in how they interrupt the opponent. Though of course Labrynth has a ton of side deck options due to the nature of being a normal trap deck.

Some version of Snake Eyes is currently tier 0 in IRL play right now, and moreso than Tearlaments was IIRC. The only thing holding them back in Master Duel is how relatively unexplored the strategy is without key consistency boosters like Bonfire and the Fire Kings support. But just from playing against it, the game's grind and combo game are insane and feels impossible to interrupt. They play around droll (for the most part) by summoning from the deck and play around ash by having a million routes to each card they need. Not to mention the kind of interaction they have that will only get better once Little Night gets released. Main decking Cosmic Cyclone might be the right choice just because if nothing else it hits them and some other decks like labrynth, but unfortunately it does almost nothing against SHS if you're going second. Like maybe you can banish the Scythe if they're on a Dadga line but they already got all the value they needed from their pend scales.
Part of me wonders if Snake Eyes got all their support early and entirely unhit just so Konami could dish out bans before the strategy gets to full power.
I think they just want to see how different bans effect the deck. They now have three formats with different banlists philosophy to try it out.

SHS was running around free, and since it was so damn boring, most of your matches were some flavor of branded, the deck that's been around for months where you play the game of ashing the branded fusion. Droll completely fricked over some decks, and you couldn't not run droll because there was always a chance you'd hit SHS. Snake Eye games are largely an improvement over all that. It will eventually overstay its welcome, but if you're not playing snake-eyes right now, you're missing out.

Deep Sea itself literally has no in-archetype wincon, the ED monsters are Water synchro enablers designed to summon generics like White Aura Whale.
Diva into Prima Donna/Repetiteur via Gurnards is literally their best play.
It makes sense thematically since they're a xenophobic, isolated city of artists and performers, but gameplaywise they're usually just an extra starter for decks like Icejade or Atlantean.

Idk what you're talking about but the blue one is weaker in unchained because its not a starter, it's an extender, similar to sarama. It does nothing in your hand and you usually rely on your other cards to get it into rotation during your combo.
It is pretty good once you actually bring it out though, the gy effect is nasty in more grindy games
Sharvy can pop Rollback or get a second trap in GY to copy in Labrynth. Unchained Lab typically just uses it.

Playing the meta is fine or fun even but playing decks below T2 or T3 is absolutely miserable.
I have a gishki deck that dies to any handtrap, it's so fricking bad playing 7+ games in a row and not opening called by or crossout. Or opening one but they opened both imperm and ash. And you meed to open more than just Grimness too, you need to open Grimness + salvage or focused aquamirror or shadow/visionary in order to actually go off. So your hand needs to be

Anon, the deck is only "rogue" in the sense that nobody is willing to sit through you playing it if they don't have an interruption. It's the very opposite of fun, literally nobody wants to play against it even though practically any deck that got support in the past five years can tear it a new butthole. The meta for T.G. is the opponent scooping before you can run out your own fricking counter by trying to summon your entire extra deck. It is not a deck that you "play" regardless of whether you can resolve your cards or not.
Welcome to most pet decks. Trying to play against multiple handtraps isn't something most decks can do and we're in a 15 handtrap meta.
Many of which are once per turn the only ones I hard lose to are nibiru and I'll pass if I see maximum c. I've yet to be otk in Plat. I'm also not saying the decks amazing just it's not as bad as the anon that proclaimed its a dog shit game thinks
I agree, the deck is perfectly fine. It's just that it's not Mannadium/Snake-Eyes/Mathmech in which they can naturally play through like 2 well place handtraps and still end on some shit that you'll have to work to get the win.
But judging every deck you play against actual meta threats will lead to a shitty situation in which there's a bunch of fun still you won't bother with.
That's why I tried to tell that other anon a combo that I've beat several meta decks (according to masterduelmeta) with at the end of the day its all rng though. You can't win every game and I do think masterduel rigs hands for other people quite a bit in a not so subtle way

I built it recently and I don't regret it one bit. I assume it'd be like a year+ before we ever get a secret pack, seeing as the selection pack ended recently.
It's on the lower end of the top 5 decks, but that also means it's not on the radar for any banlist hits unless you count like Dimension Shifter randomly and justly being banned/limited.
So yes it's good, but you'd need to craft 9 URs minimum since it has no pack.
It's also very fun.

You can play two or three. There isn't a set ratio in that regard since it's better to search Diabellstar off Wanted than to hard draw her.
Diabellstar is a one card starter even if you're not running Poplar or Snake Ash. It's nice to have multiple right now even if it's not as good as just drawing WANTED. 1 is definitely fine after EMERGENCY and Bonfire though.

There's little reason to run a non-engine card you can't search at anything but 3. Even to make your deck 40 for consistency over 41, Maxx C is just Upstart on steroids. If you can't cut anything else just run 41 cards.

Only players who have never done the math or netdeck OCG lists give this as a reason. The chances of drawing doubles of your 3 of is actually extremely low already, something like 3% vs a 1% chance if you play only 2. Taking a card from 3 to 2 that you can't search is reducing your chances of seeing it in your opening hand from 33% to 23%.
Think of all the people in these threads who cry "If Maxx C resolves against me and I don't have 2+ interruptions I just surrender there's nothing I can do", it's probably like 85% of the thread right, so against them Maxx C almost says "if this card resolves you win the duel"
Now if you think this is a popular opinion multiply that against the entire population of Master Duel, it would make sense to run 3 copies would you agree?

Yeah I've felt this way for a while. In the first place it hardly ever actually resolves. Everybody runs 3 ash and 2 called by since they're good against other stuff too. Your opponent literally has a 50% chance of opening an out to it. Even better odds if they've got any other outs like crossout. Sure you could bait out a called by first but that's only if you have more than 1 handtrap and even then that entails you potentially missing out on maxx c draws and your opponent could choose to simply not use their called by anyway. Not to mention that you'd have no way to play around ash.
This isn't as much of an issue when you drop maxx c on turn 2 after you built your board but most of the time maxx c is nothing but a win more card in that scenario anyway.
I think people really exaggerate how much of a win it is when it resolves too. A surprising amount of decks, and most notably nearly all meta decks, can set up something decent with a small amount of summons or just play on your turn. Yeah getting even a few draws is nice but hardly ever game deciding.
It's a great card when it resolves and your opponent ends on something completely worthless but that really just doesn't happen much. A lot of the time I legitimately wish I had opened a different handtrap.
