I don't play Branded. I just realize that even the best decks run cards that you don't want to draw, so having a card that you must run but don't want to draw is not actually a death sentence for any archetype as long as it's given actually good support.

90% of the decks in the game, i.e. everything before MR5, needed a right combination of cards in hand and/or in deck to actully combo off. The exceptions were the goodstuff pile decks, Dragon Link, Pendulum and Plants.
That Branded opening is bad, even going second, but you can still set cards and have a handtrap in hand for defense. You can also, you know, use Albaz's effect going second and activate Branded Lost.
The Thunder Dragon hand is completely unplayable, if maxx resolves you MIGHT be able to draw into your 3 limited bystials and not get OTK'd but you're also more likely to draw into useless engine. It is a true brick where going first or second you have no immediate defense against your opponent.
And that's normal for everything except stupid priveleged decks like Branded, Mathmech, and Tears. 1 starter and 4 disruptions is full combo and 5 starters and 1 disruption breaks boards

You want Blue-Eyes to be good, retrain White Lightning to banish what it destroys face-down.
NOW that i think about it if 3000 atk points are no longer special and even normal monsters got their expected stats raised.... then maybe they should retrain the classics to make them notorious in modern years.

If there's one thing Komoney messed up, it's the balance between making the "old cards relevant through retrains or newer complementary cards" and "introducing entirely new archetype for entry level"
They should give us a new extra deck monster type that can be summoned just by revealing a specific monster in your hand.
Then have one for each of the classic cards that can then special summon them from your hand, maybe with some actual cost, and equip itself to them to give them actual effects.

People are more interested in watching YGO on youtube than Hearthstone or other TCGs. He either comes to terms with this, or adapts and learns how to play the game without crying so much.

The ranked system in Master Duel is a joke, as if we needed any more proof of it. If you watch his vods, you will see that this guy constantly misplays, times out, doesn't know what his opponent is doing, doesn't know half the lines of his own deck, misses obvious lines to win, plays into shit for no reason, constantly throws games and has negative card pool knowledge due to being a new player, but yet he can still climb to Diamond V. Why? Because all you need is to win 50%+1 of your games and you will eventually climb (technically if you think about how the shitty system works in detail it is possible to even climb with a <50% overall winrate).
In a real game with a real ranked system that isn't just a dumb grind a player like him would be Silver at best.
Because of how the shitty system works, basically the entire ladder under Diamond is not real because everyone with just a decent knowledge of the game at competitive level playing anything tier 3 or above can easily get to Master I and all of those people are thrown into Diamond V at the end of the season. So everyone below Diamond is either a drooling moron or someone purposefully staying at low ranks to play shit decks (which is barely any harder to beat than a drooling moron).
So why do you even play the game? If you want to play against meta, you will stay above Diamond-Master 100% of the time. If you want to play shitty pet decks for fun, you stay below Diamond. As you can clearly see, you can misplay and still win some games.
Swordsoul is not good enough to carry anyone. He is a drooling baby himself and playing against other drooling babies, but he has his chat coaching him through every duel while his opponents misplay with Dark Magician.
It carried me to Diamond without the Ash C package and I still don't know what the cards even do. Bet I could get to M1 with 3x roach, called by and 2 sphere modes.
While it's nowhere near this big tier 1 threat that noobs think it is, making a Chixiao + Baronne is enough to trounce the anime pile trash you see at low ranks.

Not sure if you realize, but this game has 7 ranks each with 5 tiers. However, in practice, there are only 2 ranks, drooling moron/casual player (Plat I and below) and everything above that regardless of skill level (Diamond V and above). The only real competition I've seen in Master Duel outside of community tournaments was the Duelist Cup, but that shit is fricking atrocious and locked to no lifers who can burn 72h straight playing this game. I can't play it, I can only watch it from the perspective of the japs/chinks grinding it.
I just want to log into Master Duel, queue into ranked and play against people who know their deck well and will try to play around disruption at very least.

If you're planning to end your turn with it on the field Tri-Heart is harder to out, and requires 1 less material. But you really just shouldn't be doing that in a non-scareclaw deck.
Borrelsword is better at finishing your opponent off, or at least can help clear boards better than Triheart.
Borrelsword is definitely a better include for most decks, but there are better options than him.
I need the best possible Link that can be made with 3 low attack, low level tuners and I can't steal anything worhwhile with Dharc to Synchro with
Tri-Heart seems good, like Bagooska at Home but the lack of piercing is both weird and unfortunate
Borrelsword is a link 4. Triheart doesn't have piercing because the other Scareclaw monsters give him effects like piercing and multiple attacks.
If you just want like, a backup summon for when your synchro combo fails you could use the Black Luster Soldier link. If it's made with low levels only it has no protection, but the battle effects can be good in some cases. Honestly there's no proper generic boss monster for this purpose and I wouldn't suggest crafting Triheart just for that reason.
At least the BLS link is cheap since it's in the structure deck.

3 tuners makes underworld goddess if a Link 2 is on the field, I used to do this against Spright but since Spright is kill you never see that anymore
BLS Link without the protection isn't worth it. It's too easy to out due to the low attack, with Tri-Heart you need Links to remove it
Accesscode also isn't worth it, it only gets 4300 Attack and 1 pop which isn't enough for an OTK
None of these are good to go into. At least BLS is an option to remove stuff through non-targeting non-destruction removal. That actually gives it reason to put in the deck even if it's not good. But mainly because it's cheap and you don't want to waste UR crafting points on shitty cope summons like Triheart.

I never get to resolve a combo these days. All that time practicing lines and I didnt even get to do it once, and yet im still winning because opponent scooped. The one time I did manage to get into a situation to do my lines was a long drawn out match, where the moment i start doing it, the opponent scooped.

Wynn being meta relevant means you can steal a baronne, ram it, then search droll

Thrust gets TCGgays hard because it can search any spell if the opponent plays into it, Dharc can search every monster in my deck bar kaijus and bystials
Trading 2 for 1 is essentially Small World, and that plus the ability to soak up negates by trying to reborn a Chaos Angel or something is really high value from a generic Link
Dharc is so good that I am running SP alongside it instead of replacing it, my only disappointment is SP doesn't return shit to hand nd just banishes, being able to reuse kaijus would be so cash

Like, I'd rather let some jank rogue decks smack me in the face than to sit through the copy/paste monotony that in Swordsoul (in this event)

I want a Flower Wolf retrain that requires a 1 Beast + 1 Plant to be fusion summoned and a Silver Fang retrain that is used together with it for an extra effect.
The Raigeki Silver Fang combo is still really good if you use a modern supplemental engine to update your deck. Like Raigeki>Silver Fang>Branded Fusion is still quite strong!

Extra deck urs don’t count because people only run 1 anyway so banning it is only a limited refund. Meanwhile UR main deck hits that people run three of is huge refund. Also killing a deck with UR hits is very bad, because people will refund the UR dust and build another meta deck. It’s preferable for Konami to kill the deck with non-UR hits so that players won’t get their dust back to build the next deck. Imagine if they banned Fallen of Albaz right now. How many UR dust will Branded players have sitting in an extra deck that is completely worthless compared to killing the deck by banning mirrorjade or Albion. See?

I don't play Branded. I just realize that even the best decks run cards that you don't want to draw, so having a card that you must run but don't want to draw is not actually a death sentence for any archetype as long as it's given actually good support.

90% of the decks in the game, i.e. everything before MR5, needed a right combination of cards in hand and/or in deck to actully combo off. The exceptions were the goodstuff pile decks, Dragon Link, Pendulum and Plants.
That Branded opening is bad, even going second, but you can still set cards and have a handtrap in hand for defense. You can also, you know, use Albaz's effect going second and activate Branded Lost.
The Thunder Dragon hand is completely unplayable, if maxx resolves you MIGHT be able to draw into your 3 limited bystials and not get OTK'd but you're also more likely to draw into useless engine. It is a true brick where going first or second you have no immediate defense against your opponent.
And that's normal for everything except stupid priveleged decks like Branded, Mathmech, and Tears. 1 starter and 4 disruptions is full combo and 5 starters and 1 disruption breaks boards
This has nothing to do with whether needing to run one brick in your deck makes it impossible to receive support that makes the deck good.

The ranked system in Master Duel is a joke, as if we needed any more proof of it. If you watch his vods, you will see that this guy constantly misplays, times out, doesn't know what his opponent is doing, doesn't know half the lines of his own deck, misses obvious lines to win, plays into shit for no reason, constantly throws games and has negative card pool knowledge due to being a new player, but yet he can still climb to Diamond V. Why? Because all you need is to win 50%+1 of your games and you will eventually climb (technically if you think about how the shitty system works in detail it is possible to even climb with a <50% overall winrate).
In a real game with a real ranked system that isn't just a dumb grind a player like him would be Silver at best.
Because of how the shitty system works, basically the entire ladder under Diamond is not real because everyone with just a decent knowledge of the game at competitive level playing anything tier 3 or above can easily get to Master I and all of those people are thrown into Diamond V at the end of the season. So everyone below Diamond is either a drooling moron or someone purposefully staying at low ranks to play shit decks (which is barely any harder to beat than a drooling moron).

Is Borrelsword better than Scareclaw Tri-Heart as a generic?
If you're planning to end your turn with it on the field Tri-Heart is harder to out, and requires 1 less material. But you really just shouldn't be doing that in a non-scareclaw deck.
Borrelsword is better at finishing your opponent off, or at least can help clear boards better than Triheart.
Borrelsword is definitely a better include for most decks, but there are better options than him.
I need the best possible Link that can be made with 3 low attack, low level tuners and I can't steal anything worhwhile with Dharc to Synchro with
Tri-Heart seems good, like Bagooska at Home but the lack of piercing is both weird and unfortunate
Borrelsword is a link 4. Triheart doesn't have piercing because the other Scareclaw monsters give him effects like piercing and multiple attacks.
If you just want like, a backup summon for when your synchro combo fails you could use the Black Luster Soldier link. If it's made with low levels only it has no protection, but the battle effects can be good in some cases. Honestly there's no proper generic boss monster for this purpose and I wouldn't suggest crafting Triheart just for that reason.
At least the BLS link is cheap since it's in the structure deck.

BLS Link without the protection isn't worth it. It's too easy to out due to the low attack, with Tri-Heart you need Links to remove it
Accesscode also isn't worth it, it only gets 4300 Attack and 1 pop which isn't enough for an OTK
None of these are good to go into. At least BLS is an option to remove stuff through non-targeting non-destruction removal. That actually gives it reason to put in the deck even if it's not good. But mainly because it's cheap and you don't want to waste UR crafting points on shitty cope summons like Triheart.

Thrust gets TCGgays hard because it can search any spell if the opponent plays into it, Dharc can search every monster in my deck bar kaijus and bystials
Trading 2 for 1 is essentially Small World, and that plus the ability to soak up negates by trying to reborn a Chaos Angel or something is really high value from a generic Link
Dharc is so good that I am running SP alongside it instead of replacing it, my only disappointment is SP doesn't return shit to hand nd just banishes, being able to reuse kaijus would be so cash
Too specific and matchup dependent, but are amazing when it comes up. The float Effect is nice but can be circumvented or be too slow.

Extra deck urs don’t count because people only run 1 anyway so banning it is only a limited refund. Meanwhile UR main deck hits that people run three of is huge refund. Also killing a deck with UR hits is very bad, because people will refund the UR dust and build another meta deck. It’s preferable for Konami to kill the deck with non-UR hits so that players won’t get their dust back to build the next deck. Imagine if they banned Fallen of Albaz right now. How many UR dust will Branded players have sitting in an extra deck that is completely worthless compared to killing the deck by banning mirrorjade or Albion. See?
