Those cards only work vs monster effects on the field. Letting him banish from his GY as cost first is good, but honestly it probably doesn't matter and you'll win either way assuming you have plays.
I need to remind myself that if I lose the coinflip, I have to do it before the Main Phase, otherwise if I make my opponent go second and shotgun the roach, they will most likely pass on an empty board.
If you have a brain its the best its been. Kash isn't as scary as people had initially thought. The hit on Diablosis and 1 Field Spell did enough. No Terraforming and no Prosperity. Also everyone is running cards that hard counter it. Deck diversity is not bad all things considered.

Because Fenrir is just okay, it's not gamebreaking. A decent going 2nd tool which is a good thing, going 2nd shouldn't be terrible. I think he was slightly more unhealthy for the OCG because of being a free summon you can't respond to with Roach.

There's a reason Kashtira was split into two packs, and that reason is to justify limiting the three month old Fenrir (as of November) if Kashtira needs hits.
I also think the pack extension is made to lure moron spending gems instead UR CPs (and get trash URs from that pack) because israelitenami know they need to hit fenrir and unicorn
When exactly does this fricker get a chance to activate? Like I just went up against a P.U.N.K. deck and had him out for their entire turn but the only time I got a prompt to stop them was when they tried to bring out PEP after like 5 prior special summons
Summon Negations are finicky. Basically you can only negate summons that do not start a chain.
It only negates the SUMMON, not an effect that would cause a summon, and you're not allowed to activate an effect while a chain is already resolving, so by the time the effect that would special summon resolves, the summon has already resolved too, which means that it's too late to negate the summon.
So it works vs most extra deck summons other than fusion(unless it's a contact fusion), and "inherent" summons like a cyber dragon, kaiju, or Kash monster.

Because the entire OCG playerbase was caught with their pants down at worlds and apparently can't play for shit without Maxx C after the pandemic era powercreep hit. All those years of winning Worlds went down the drain in less than a week. The TCG players run this game now.
Don't expect anything to change unless either Maxx C is finally banned in the OCG or Maxx C is finally unbanned in the TCG.
Not a single OCG player made it to day 2 for both Master Duel and paper formats at worlds. It's blatant that the funny earth insect has ruined their ability to deckbuild or adapt to any format without it.
I’d argue it was Tear that buck broke the OCG in Worlds they were too invested in that deck only to brick and be issued slow play warnings. Meanwhile Dragon Link won with 3x Saronir and every other Bystial limited.

No, I mostly played on sims since my closest locals is over an hour away. I had a couple cheap and super casual decks for the rare occasions that I went but I could never justify spending that much on cards when I barely ever had a chance to play them. I ended up giving all of them away to a friend

Book of Eclipse rapes them hard. Non-target book flips all those b***hes down and their equip spells all explode. Sucks that everyone runs Ash every single format because of Maxx C. Eclipse is a really good card otherwise. Hu-Li is annoying as shit, frick that b***h and frick Mayowashidori. Herald of the Abyss also works because all the Mikankos are different attributes, but they don't really activate effects on your turn to enable a Thrust search like a lot of people like to run so you'd have to commit more deck space to it or just pray to draw the out.

Mikanko is a weaker OTK deck than Numeron. It's only better because it has decent going first plays.
I am beyond thrilled to see Numeron tank in usage. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing the opponent dump up to 5 board breakers and drop either Numeron Network or a searcher for game if I'm not playing Bystials.

My current deck, but to be honest I haven't used it much this month, I'm focusing on Mikanko right now, so some other anons currently ranking up with Lab should be able to help you more.
do the tutorials and solo stuff until you've got like 6k+ gems, then pull whatever secret pack or selection pack that has the most cards you need in it. If you run out of resources just cobble together something playable and do the baby tiers of ranked to get some more stuff or play the less rewarding solo gates if you're really stuck.
there's bundles that give you 1 of some staples, and come with random packs at a reduced price. once you've gotten most of the core shit to just play your deck from the secret pack, pull those instead. use the URs and SRs you get that suck from the bundles and secret packs to generate whatever you're missing.
of note for the decklist the anon posted, if you just play a different removal trap in place of the 1 dogmatika punishment, like compulsory, or ideally overroot, then you can hold off on most of the extra deck stuff and get by with just some muckrackers while you finish your main deck.
Buy the master pack bundles for 750 each that come with 10 master packs + a staple card. It’s the best bang for your buck you’ll get ever as usually 10 packs are 1k. Don’t ever buy less than 10 packs at a time because when you buy 10 at once you’re guaranteed a rare.
never roll master packs, open the secret pack for the cards you like (if possible) craft the others that don't have secret packs. The shop has some staple + packs, do that maybe
Do the tutorial and then use the initial gems to buy some structure decks to play in ranked. The salamangreat one is the most competitive one. It's not very good though. The first packs you buy should be the Special Bundles. The Ash Blossom one is a must have, but the rest are good deals if all you need is Dust. If you want specific cards you'll need to unlock packs by crafting SR or UR cards from it. You get a free pull by unlocking packs so I suggest being liberal with crafting SRs you might need. use this site, find a meta deck that you're interested in, then spend your gems to build towards it. most archetypes have a secret pack you can unlock for 24h whenever you craft an SR or UR that's from that set. the secret packs are also listed on the site. you can dismantle unwanted SR/UR cards to craft the ones you want. if you want a cheap deck just to start doing the solo mode then buy 3x of a structure deck.

They aren't. Purrelly is currently the best dick. They aren't that fun to play however even if they do take some skill to dodge disruptions. People joke about Yugioh being solitaire but Purrely is literal solitaire
3 copies of the Salamangreat or Ninja structure decks is just 1500 gems and should serve you well until you save up enough to go for whatever meta deck you feel like later.
Some people will say that it's a waste of gems and you should just go straight for Purrely or Kash instead, but actually having a decent experience playing the game while working towards an objective is worth it imo
Why does Generaider backrow suck so fricking much? You have Boss Stage which is a fantastic on-theme field spell and then just a pile of "crush your testicles with a rock also your opponent draws 1" like what the frick
A good chunk of Ogdoadic cards feel like they were made to keep glaring design issues around instead of just fricking retooling them instead.
For example, there currently exists 6 differently named fricking Lv8+ Ogdoadic cards that are dead in your hand. Instead of giving them some sort of way to natively dump themselves from the hand or not be this massive delibitating garnet since Nunu and Nauya only send from Deck, Zohah and Phlogis can pitch a card from hand...to add themselves to the hand instead of special summoning from the GY. Which basically means they function as even more fricking garnets to unbrick your already existing garnets.
They also only get the floating effect when sent from FIELD to GY just to frick with you, because they also noted that the most common way of shitting them out was through Keurse, which banishes them when they leave the field, so instead of retooling them, they just made them also work when specialed from the GY "as a cute work-around". I also appreciate the fact that instead of giving Zohah and Phlogis one effect when specialed from the GY and another when sent to the GY, they went with the Ghoti train of thought of using additional card text to make the card arbitrarily worse.
All this culminates in a deck that barely utilizes the gimmick of controlling both player's GY and instead resorts to doing Evol and Zer'Oll shit because you have easy 1-2 card lines to shit out a live Zer'Oll with the Planet Pollutant lock backed up by a bunch of Evolzars and that is an infinitely better endboard than whatever Konami intended to somehow shit out Aron, Amunessia and Ogdoabyss

Dumb list. Methmech Salad can extend so much you can easily burn through Purrely spins. It’s weak to Kash though of going second since they can just banish your Accesscode. Mikanko is a bad investment and not worth replacing troonmeron as the latter can fit in more board breakers. Exosissies and Plants lose hard to Purrely and Kashitra.
You don't really have more extensions, because the shit you're taking out to put in the salad engine are your extenders. That side of the engine also competes for the normal summon, and the mathmech normal summon is just better. I like salads and will be playing them once their new support comes out, but it's just worse than mathmech now.

Kash got meaningful pre-hits, and Tear is nowhere to be seen. It's pretty good right now.
If you have a brain its the best its been. Kash isn't as scary as people had initially thought. The hit on Diablosis and 1 Field Spell did enough. No Terraforming and no Prosperity. Also everyone is running cards that hard counter it. Deck diversity is not bad all things considered.

There's a reason Kashtira was split into two packs, and that reason is to justify limiting the three month old Fenrir (as of November) if Kashtira needs hits.

Summon Negations are finicky. Basically you can only negate summons that do not start a chain.
It only negates the SUMMON, not an effect that would cause a summon, and you're not allowed to activate an effect while a chain is already resolving, so by the time the effect that would special summon resolves, the summon has already resolved too, which means that it's too late to negate the summon.
So it works vs most extra deck summons other than fusion(unless it's a contact fusion), and "inherent" summons like a cyber dragon, kaiju, or Kash monster.

if going 1st, you want to setup a field that doesn't die to a kaiju drop, so setting up 3 threats or a way to survive the turn is enough

Book of Eclipse rapes them hard. Non-target book flips all those b***hes down and their equip spells all explode. Sucks that everyone runs Ash every single format because of Maxx C. Herald of the Abyss also works because all the Mikankos are different attributes, but they don't really activate effects on your turn to enable a Thrust search like a lot of people like to run so you'd have to commit more deck space to it or just pray to draw the out.

Mikanko is a weaker OTK deck than Numeron. It's only better because it has decent going first plays.
I am beyond thrilled to see Numeron tank in usage. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing the opponent dump up to 5 board breakers and drop either Numeron Network or a searcher for game if I'm not playing Bystials.

My current deck, but to be honest I haven't used it much this month, I'm focusing on Mikanko right now, so some other anons currently ranking up with Lab should be able to help you more.

ok but where do I start? like, I download the game and then what do I get?
do the tutorials and solo stuff until you've got like 6k+ gems, then pull whatever secret pack or selection pack that has the most cards you need in it. If you run out of resources just cobble together something playable and do the baby tiers of ranked to get some more stuff or play the less rewarding solo gates if you're really stuck.
what about ashe and the other cards that were imperative?
there's bundles that give you 1 of some staples, and come with random packs at a reduced price. once you've gotten most of the core shit to just play your deck from the secret pack, pull those instead. use the URs and SRs you get that suck from the bundles and secret packs to generate whatever you're missing.
of note for the decklist the anon posted, if you just play a different removal trap in place of the 1 dogmatika punishment, like compulsory, or ideally overroot, then you can hold off on most of the extra deck stuff and get by with just some muckrackers while you finish your main deck.

Get imperm and ash bundles. The rest, you can live without them.
Buy the master pack bundles for 750 each that come with 10 master packs + a staple card. It’s the best bang for your buck you’ll get ever as usually 10 packs are 1k. Don’t ever buy less than 10 packs at a time because when you buy 10 at once you’re guaranteed a rare.
never roll master packs, open the secret pack for the cards you like (if possible) craft the others that don't have secret packs. The shop has some staple + packs, do that maybe
Do the tutorial and then use the initial gems to buy some structure decks to play in ranked. The salamangreat one is the most competitive one. It's not very good though. The first packs you buy should be the Special Bundles. The Ash Blossom one is a must have, but the rest are good deals if all you need is Dust. If you want specific cards you'll need to unlock packs by crafting SR or UR cards from it. You get a free pull by unlocking packs so I suggest being liberal with crafting SRs you might need. use this site, find a meta deck that you're interested in, then spend your gems to build towards it. most archetypes have a secret pack you can unlock for 24h whenever you craft an SR or UR that's from that set. the secret packs are also listed on the site. you can dismantle unwanted SR/UR cards to craft the ones you want. if you want a cheap deck just to start doing the solo mode then buy 3x of a structure deck.

They aren't. Purrelly is currently the best dick. They aren't that fun to play however even if they do take some skill to dodge disruptions. People joke about Yugioh being solitaire but Purrely is literal solitaire
3 copies of the Salamangreat or Ninja structure decks is just 1500 gems and should serve you well until you save up enough to go for whatever meta deck you feel like later.
Some people will say that it's a waste of gems and you should just go straight for Purrely or Kash instead, but actually having a decent experience playing the game while working towards an objective is worth it imo
The Salamangreat one gives Cynet Mining which is useful in Mathmech decks. Mathmech is still competitive even as a splash.

Ogdoadic has the same issue with giving the opponent a random +1 for no reason.
A good chunk of Ogdoadic cards feel like they were made to keep glaring design issues around instead of just fricking retooling them instead.
For example, there currently exists 6 differently named fricking Lv8+ Ogdoadic cards that are dead in your hand. Instead of giving them some sort of way to natively dump themselves from the hand or not be this massive delibitating garnet since Nunu and Nauya only send from Deck, Zohah and Phlogis can pitch a card from hand...to add themselves to the hand instead of special summoning from the GY. Which basically means they function as even more fricking garnets to unbrick your already existing garnets.
They also only get the floating effect when sent from FIELD to GY just to frick with you, because they also noted that the most common way of shitting them out was through Keurse, which banishes them when they leave the field, so instead of retooling them, they just made them also work when specialed from the GY "as a cute work-around". I also appreciate the fact that instead of giving Zohah and Phlogis one effect when specialed from the GY and another when sent to the GY, they went with the Ghoti train of thought of using additional card text to make the card arbitrarily worse.
All this culminates in a deck that barely utilizes the gimmick of controlling both player's GY and instead resorts to doing Evol and Zer'Oll shit because you have easy 1-2 card lines to shit out a live Zer'Oll with the Planet Pollutant lock backed up by a bunch of Evolzars and that is an infinitely better endboard than whatever Konami intended to somehow shit out Aron, Amunessia and Ogdoabyss

Dumb list. Methmech Salad can extend so much you can easily burn through Purrely spins. It’s weak to Kash though of going second since they can just banish your Accesscode. Mikanko is a bad investment and not worth replacing troonmeron as the latter can fit in more board breakers. Exosissies and Plants lose hard to Purrely and Kashitra.

You don't really have more extensions, because the shit you're taking out to put in the salad engine are your extenders. That side of the engine also competes for the normal summon, and the mathmech normal summon is just better. I like salads and will be playing them once their new support comes out, but it's just worse than mathmech now.
