This is an unplayer post for sure. Lab doesn't handrip every single time, there are several ways of reaching a mid-range end board without needing to rely on a single type of play. Even if Lab always tried to handrip, which isn't even their safest move because it dies to ash unless they got a perfect 5 card hand going first with Furniture and Transaction Rollback.
The real take away from this anons post is that there are decks that can 1 card full combo, like Mathmech, Snake-Eyes, Mannadium, etc that are currently viable on ladder right now, and that they shit all over pet decks. These are the same posters who """need""" Maxx C in their deck for it to be competent because their deck is mostly bricks and hand traps.

That's false. Fundamentally, Lab shouldn't exist, because it can set any trap from the deck and potentially activate it immediately. They sidestep a fundamental principal of trap cards needing to wait a turn to activate. They need to get nuked into unplayable. Konami can't print good traps while they exist.

I don't know why people insist on playing decks that are 75+% traps when yugioh was never meant to be played that way. "Trap decks" aren't good because building an entire deck out of traps is just poor deck building.

If I lost it's because my opponent played meta, stacked his draws, rigged my draws, I was playing off-meta, they rigged the coin toss, they read my hand, I know the truth.
Depends on the duel but I usually don't mind this. Now if it's a 12 turn stun horseshit deck that I was never beating anyway then I'm pissed. But if it was an actual back and forth duel and I can look back at some missplays or lucky topdecks as the reason I lost then I'll still be pleased.

Let's be clear, there are other decks that absolutely need to die in the game, Runick being one of them, Snake eyes too, but they're being overshadowed by the most popular and cancerous decks currently and the downplayers are doing overtime damage control to try and sway public opinion in their favor because they know their days are numbered.
There's some people that overly obsess about the deck. It has powerful tools and people can build the deck degenerately with puppet lock, but it's not even remotely in the same camp as Floo, Tears, and Lab, 3 decks that are trying to lock you out of the game with floodgates or just way too much oppressive gas to play through. Branded, unironically, has way too cards that you can hit with Imperm or veiler that just stop their shit dead in it's tracks. I would know; I have the 60 card version and you often just blank out on the first negate if your opponent isn't some dumb troony.

It's risky. They might still have it in hand (very rarely) and there will be times the Branded player opens up the nuts and has gas for days and you probably just can't do enough to stop them, on top of all the cards they get back to hand on the end step.
Branded just kinda makes normal hand trap soup meta look weak, but Branded compared to the actual villians of the meta currently feels like comparing a tier 2 deck to high tier 1 decks. I seriously wish I went up against Branded all day vs. the slop i see in ranked in diamond.

you're aware red reboot can't be chained to rollback's gy effect, right? even if you successfully activate it and lock your opponent out of trap activations, rollback remains live.
The problem with trap card decks in best of 1 is there not a lot you can run against them that effect 90% of other decks. Lightning storm would have been the answer but that restriction kills it. It's the worst thing ever when you draw into it and cant use it. We need another card like Triple tactics talent the does multiple things but actually hit back row in some way

how good will the new Gold Sarcophagus of Light Archetype be like when it comes out?
I played a bit with it on Nexus and had fun but i also haven't played Modern ygo in years and mainly look for an easy to learn deck to try out the game before moving on to one of the more complicated decks and Gold Sarc seems to be perfect for this
Its incredible simply summon gadget activate sarcophagus to get ties of friendship summon out silent swordsman and nagician and set a bunch of traps
main problem thus far is that the deck has very little recovery after you get hit by a boardwipe and doesn't do well in a grond game

The point of the deck is that it needs the field spell. The field spell is indestructible, is a 1 card combo and has 6 searchers. After that you just summon powerful main deck monsters and even have some cross over with dark magician its definitely a step up from horus and horus was already pretty good what more do you want?

I don't know if you realized this but the other level 4 or lower gold sarc monster are supposed to be boss monsters you summon using ties of friendship. It would make sense for them to work themselves if you really want a marshmallon or silent swordsman that works by themselves then those cards already exist

Not consistently useful enough against good players. It basically only exists to play through interruptions and even then only ones on your level 4 monsters. Better options are available.
Now that being said unless you’re going full on sweaty tryhard it’s still a solid option. If you’re playing Tuning and even just off Rev Synchrons GY effect, those mills can be fun. I’ve won games off a clutch mill through Tuning. But I also have copies of Tuning because I of a Synchron deck I built forever ago, I wouldn’t craft it.
I love the birds but calling them fair when they ignore fundamental Yugioh concepts like turn order, the GY, the extra deck and special summoning is a bit disingenuous.

Harpies aren't good because of that card lol. It's harder to design around then snake rain If they made harpies good they would be tier 0 until that card gets banned. It's the most telegraphed tier 0 ever it would be an insult to make. The right thing to do is to ban feather storm with the announcement of harpie support but yugioh doesn't work like that a card has to prove it's broken in the format to get banned

This is a lingering effect so theres no destroying like skilldrain AND you can activate it from the hand if you control a harpie. If there was a harpie that could search this out it would be fricking over for every other deck

I'm so happy that people are playing floodgate Lab instead of Rollback builds because of the lack of Furnitures. Konami is so good at managing the banlist. I can't wait for the banlist to hit Furnitures even more so that people can have even more space for floodgates.

Here’s a real take: I think the current version of Tear in MD is peak Yugioh. Consistent enough to be playable but not consistent enough to put up unbreakable boards if uninterrupted. Enough random variance with their normal play lines to make every duel interesting. The ability to play on either turn so you’re not often just sitting there for 10 minutes waiting. If most decks were at that level the entire meta would be extremely enjoyable.
It's not that weird a take. T0 Tearlaments was still considered a pretty enjoyable meta by a lot of people despite it being the most broken do in history just because the mirror was deep.
The problem with the snake eyes t0 is that the mirror is shallow. And Snake Eyes at least has the courtesy is being a broken but "honest" deck in that it just plays Yugioh better than everyone else instead of introducing a bunch of subgames which some top tiers have done in the past like the Drytron Eldlich launch meta

This is an unplayer post for sure. Lab doesn't handrip every single time, there are several ways of reaching a mid-range end board without needing to rely on a single type of play. Even if Lab always tried to handrip, which isn't even their safest move because it dies to ash unless they got a perfect 5 card hand going first with Furniture and Transaction Rollback.
The real take away from this anons post is that there are decks that can 1 card full combo, like Mathmech, Snake-Eyes, Mannadium, etc that are currently viable on ladder right now, and that they shit all over pet decks. These are the same posters who """need""" Maxx C in their deck for it to be competent because their deck is mostly bricks and hand traps.

That's false. Fundamentally, Lab shouldn't exist, because it can set any trap from the deck and potentially activate it immediately. They sidestep a fundamental principal of trap cards needing to wait a turn to activate. They need to get nuked into unplayable. Konami can't print good traps while they exist.

There's some people that overly obsess about the deck. It has powerful tools and people can build the deck degenerately with puppet lock, but it's not even remotely in the same camp as Floo, Tears, and Lab, 3 decks that are trying to lock you out of the game with floodgates or just way too much oppressive gas to play through. Branded, unironically, has way too cards that you can hit with Imperm or veiler that just stop their shit dead in it's tracks. I would know; I have the 60 card version and you often just blank out on the first negate if your opponent isn't some dumb troony.
If the opponent have Cartesia on field and protected Aluber's branded fusion search. Should You just imperm the Albion line to for Cartesia (which screws the Lubellion summon)?
It's risky. They might still have it in hand (very rarely) and there will be times the Branded player opens up the nuts and has gas for days and you probably just can't do enough to stop them, on top of all the cards they get back to hand on the end step.
Branded just kinda makes normal hand trap soup meta look weak, but Branded compared to the actual villians of the meta currently feels like comparing a tier 2 deck to high tier 1 decks. I seriously wish I went up against Branded all day vs. the slop i see in ranked in diamond.

you're aware red reboot can't be chained to rollback's gy effect, right? even if you successfully activate it and lock your opponent out of trap activations, rollback remains live.
The problem with trap card decks in best of 1 is there not a lot you can run against them that effect 90% of other decks. Lightning storm would have been the answer but that restriction kills it. It's the worst thing ever when you draw into it and cant use it. We need another card like Triple tactics talent the does multiple things but actually hit back row in some way

I played a bit with it on Nexus and had fun but i also haven't played Modern ygo in years and mainly look for an easy to learn deck to try out the game before moving on to one of the more complicated decks and Gold Sarc seems to be perfect for this
Its incredible simply summon gadget activate sarcophagus to get ties of friendship summon out silent swordsman and nagician and set a bunch of traps
main problem thus far is that the deck has very little recovery after you get hit by a boardwipe and doesn't do well in a grond game

The point of the deck is that it needs the field spell. The field spell is indestructible, is a 1 card combo and has 6 searchers. After that you just summon powerful main deck monsters and even have some cross over with dark magician its definitely a step up from horus and horus was already pretty good what more do you want?

I don't know if you realized this but the other level 4 or lower gold sarc monster are supposed to be boss monsters you summon using ties of friendship. It would make sense for them to work themselves if you really want a marshmallon or silent swordsman that works by themselves then those cards already exist

Not consistently useful enough against good players. It basically only exists to play through interruptions and even then only ones on your level 4 monsters. Better options are available.

Now that being said unless you’re going full on sweaty tryhard it’s still a solid option. If you’re playing Tuning and even just off Rev Synchrons GY effect, those mills can be fun. I’ve won games off a clutch mill through Tuning. But I also have copies of Tuning because I of a Synchron deck I built forever ago, I wouldn’t craft it.

Rollback was barely used in lab, except as a one off, and only in few lists. Floodgates were nearly universal.
There were SHS lists that didn't run the calamaty lock, surprisingly. Elf was always there, though.

Here’s a real take: I think the current version of Tear in MD is peak Yugioh. Consistent enough to be playable but not consistent enough to put up unbreakable boards if uninterrupted. Enough random variance with their normal play lines to make every duel interesting. The ability to play on either turn so you’re not often just sitting there for 10 minutes waiting. If most decks were at that level the entire meta would be extremely enjoyable.
It's not that weird a take. T0 Tearlaments was still considered a pretty enjoyable meta by a lot of people despite it being the most broken do in history just because the mirror was deep.
The problem with the snake eyes t0 is that the mirror is shallow. And Snake Eyes at least has the courtesy is being a broken but "honest" deck in that it just plays Yugioh better than everyone else instead of introducing a bunch of subgames which some top tiers have done in the past like the Drytron Eldlich launch meta
