People were all excited to experiment with despia then it got fricked on with branded mirrorjade bystial albaz soup simply to compete with sloppa. Swordsoul had the chinks happy but it's a very dull toxic deck most of the time. In a better timeline despia would be it's own thing, tear kash runick spright purrely would be balanced instead of forced power creep, and popular but mechanically out of date decks would get competent support or replacements. DM and BEWD should almost always be meta

People play multiple card games in Japan because it's easy as frick to do, stores host tournaments for all sorts of niche games regularly and you can buy everything easily. You don't have to stick to a single game. If YGO is boring like it is right now people will just go play DM, PTCG, One Piece, Shadowverse Evolve or anything else that is more exciting. Maxx C is almost always being dropped in the draw phase. Thrust is much stronger when handtraps are going off in the main phase so you can always search a live Talent.

Galaxy Eyes has a WAY stronger engine, and can actually be considered rogue having won some recent tournaments. Ancient Gear has done NOTHING of note in ages. Galaxy Eyes actually has going first plays, and can rebuild a board. It's hard to even care about Neo-Prime's three attacks when you usually just kill someone with one swing from it anyway.
You simply don't know the deck. The difference in power level is like comparing DM to Swordsoul.
I stopped playing galaxy eyes as a blind second deck and focused on the go first aspect, lord and titanic galaxy protected by cipher X and snipe 2 extra from the opponent is hella good and the deck can still surprise OTK super easy, cant wait for ariseheart to bite the dust so the deck can splash the ladder again

Doing combos and interrupting your opponent's combos has been a major part of the game's appeal for a long time now. What you're asking for sounds more like what Rush Duels was intended to be.

Galaxy-Eyes isn't even good, but compared to Ancient Gears it may as well be tier 0 lmao. Only an Ancient Gear player could look at the OTK monster and determine which deck is better without considering the engine, the toolbox, or even how well that monster fares vs the typical endboard. In a way it's kind of admirable to keep that childlike view of the game.

If your deck consists of only "Frog" Monster and "frog" spell & trap. You can add 3 substitoad into your deck and 3 toadally awesome into your extra deck at the beginning of the duel.

One deck loses to Ash Blossom and gives up all your follow-up plays if you make Dragoon. The other deck just uses Dragoon as a boss monster in stun decks. The fusion monster you make with Branded Fusion makes Dragoon. You dump Albaz and DM with Branded Fusion. However, you give up your combo by making Dragoon, so it's typically used as a backup for if you draw a poor hand.

Anyway, craft 1 Striker Dragon to unlock the Rokket pack and pull from that. Also get 1 copy of the Dragonmaid Structure Deck to get a copy of Spheres and Redeyes Darkness Metal. You can also craft a Seryfert to get the chaos pack open.
It sucks that the URs are all split among different packs. Usually you'd want to only try and pull for URs and craft any missing SRs, but as a new player SRs do matter too.
Thanks a lot. I did not know that crafting cards unlocks packs. I have been hesitant to spend gems at all. I want to be absolutely sure before I do spend any because I really want this deck and it appears expensive as frick.
It's kind of expensive, but also a good investment since it seems like it'll always be good, and also a big part of the cost is in the generic extra deck cards, but really you'll want things like Baronne, Knightmare Unicorn, Accesscode, Chaos Ruler, Goddess, and IP for other decks anyway.
The really rough part is the Bystial package which don't have a secret pack yet.
Only crafting an SR or UR unlocks their secret pack. Also there are some cards you can craft that unlock 2-3 secret packs which lets you gamble on the 1 time free pack for unlocking through a craft. Marshaling Field unlocks 3 I know. Some people after they've gotten all their SR staples just start unlocking every pack for even the single free pack to try and get URs.

since I have a frickload of solo shit and I can do some online battles for more gems. They seem to top out at like 15-20k but I could be wrong. Also the 4500 gems for $25 one time deal doesn't seem so bad either but if I do purchase that will be the only one. Game is well made so I don't mind that deal.

If you have tear plays + unicorn you just search birth. If you have no tear plays and nothing but unicorn, you just make ariseheart pass. Birth is pretty great even if you have no other kashtira in rotation, because you’ll just mill them.

Galaxy Eyes has a WAY stronger engine, and can actually be considered rogue having won some recent tournaments. Ancient Gear has done NOTHING of note in ages. Galaxy Eyes actually has going first plays, and can rebuild a board. It's hard to even care about Neo-Prime's three attacks when you usually just kill someone with one swing from it anyway.

Then make a new effect (Super Effect) and Super effects ignore all protection effects like “can’t be targeted.” And just make the cards with Super Effect slow and not crazy wombo combo shit. Much quicker turns, but a lengthier game.

Galaxy-Eyes isn't even good, but compared to Ancient Gears it may as well be tier 0 lmao. Only an Ancient Gear player could look at the OTK monster and determine which deck is better without considering the engine, the toolbox, or even how well that monster fares vs the typical endboard. In a way it's kind of admirable to keep that childlike view of the game.
I really hope they make Ancient Gear playable one day. It's weird it's received so little support.

Anyway, craft 1 Striker Dragon to unlock the Rokket pack and pull from that. Also get 1 copy of the Dragonmaid Structure Deck to get a copy of Spheres and Redeyes Darkness Metal. You can also craft a Seryfert to get the chaos pack open.
It sucks that the URs are all split among different packs. Usually you'd want to only try and pull for URs and craft any missing SRs, but as a new player SRs do matter too.
Thanks a lot. I did not know that crafting cards unlocks packs. I have been hesitant to spend gems at all. I want to be absolutely sure before I do spend any because I really want this deck and it appears expensive as frick.
It's kind of expensive, but also a good investment since it seems like it'll always be good, and also a big part of the cost is in the generic extra deck cards, but really you'll want things like Baronne, Knightmare Unicorn, Accesscode, Chaos Ruler, Goddess, and IP for other decks anyway.
The really rough part is the Bystial package which don't have a secret pack yet.
Only crafting an SR or UR unlocks their secret pack. Also there are some cards you can craft that unlock 2-3 secret packs which lets you gamble on the 1 time free pack for unlocking through a craft. Marshaling Field unlocks 3 I know. Some people after they've gotten all their SR staples just start unlocking every pack for even the single free pack to try and get URs.

you search birth to summon out from grave if you can help it. you'd only theosis to go for the ariseheart or to get fenrir > search tear > use it on your opponent's turn by banishing theosis if you really have nothing else to do

I think it'll work fine the following turn if you make Redoer and don't have Arise-Heart on the field. Not sure if that's better than just having Arise-Heart instead though.

If you have tear plays + unicorn you just search birth. If you have no tear plays and nothing but unicorn, you just make ariseheart pass. Birth is pretty great even if you have no other kashtira in rotation, because you’ll just mill them.
