It has a loaner for the event in a few days that has all the cards you'd need to see if you like how it plays. It just doesn't have a good aka floodgate foolish burial target to summon on their turn, but you can just imagine what it'd be like to also summon a barrier statue/Wanghu.
Cornfield Coatl and Mirror Shield Knight are engine pieces and then are also interruption from the GY. But yeah the fusions are the main payoff. Including Guardian Chimera since the fusion spell is quick play.

I wish anons here would play and show off cool decks like Gem-Knights. I'm currently working on a Starry Night, Starry Dragon deck. I'd like to talk about it when I'm done and maybe have anons help me optimize it and all that fun stuff. That's the kind of stuff I enjoy about card games. It's what makes them so cool to me
I'm surprised no one messed around with them when the game launched. They had block dragon at 3 for the ftk and could pivot to vfd locking when that failed
Everyone who messed around with them is someone who liked their solo mode, looked at the starter deck and thought "wow, Gem Knight Topaz with Fusion Weapon is really strong!".
From what I heard from Gem-Knight enthusiasts they were actually strongest post-Vernusylph pre-Block Dragon ban. Doesn't help that Verns released with Tear though.
I don't know if I want it in Master Duel. If it does make it to MD. I want it to be its own mode with separate resources and all that. I don't want to spend my hard-earned gemmies and dust on it. Just give it its own dailies to complete with its own gems to earn and dust for crafting. I DO want to try Rush Duels but I don't want it to get in the way of the thing I already enjoy.
I would probably make a second account to play it, and use loaners in events on my main.
Maybe if MD does ever catch up to OCG they could start alternating Rush and real Yugioh card releases and have it be feasible to play both as f2p.

When Maxx C released people still played 10+ traps in main. If you got Maxx C'd you could set 3 pass and wait for next turn since almost no deck could OTK. Nowadays it's moronic but on release nobody played it.

Who cares about turn 2? Turn 1 is all that matters and the "random shuffle" clause ruins the card. It boils down to:
1. Would you run this alongside Maxx-C
or
2. Replace Maxx-C with this?
Option 1 would be overkill and Option 2 seems like the moron's gambit.
The card being in the game means Maxx C can get banned safely. ComboBlack folk will get checked without giving stupid advantage to turn 1.

I feel like the best solution is some kind of Master Rule 6. If Konami has to consistently power creep the game just to sell cards, then they've basically started this spiraling trifecta of "handtraps>Total lockout endboards> Insane board breakers" and they have to keep upping the power level of each to keep making each playstyle competitive.
It's not hard to imagine a day where veiler and imperm are just shit, and then they have to print something strictly better that's got even less limitations and just does sweeper like effects and hits all monsters your opponent controls.

Yeah, Havnis IS interesting, it's just that her deck was way too strong. There's room for decks that can do turn 0 combos, but they'd need to have real downsides also. There's also room for an Ash Blossom that requires you to reveal one "Penis Smasher" card in hand, but also can be normal summoned to search a "Penis Smasher" card. Or at least is usable as fusion material for that "Penis Smasher" fusion monster that is important to the deck.

Combo decks mostly spam from GY. For example, a pend deck would give you like, 3 cards assuming no electrumite loops, sure some other decks can trigger lot of crap from hand but you get.
But big deal is hitting decks like floo that abuse lack of roach punishment and fact that full boards can't toss it to generate even more advantage.

Not really, because it still has the same restrictions of being a brick going first. Which is all Maxx C needs. Also, you can't normal from ED. So you lose that.

That random shuffle not gonna happen most of time even if your opponent keep comboing because you only get draw for monster that get summoned or special summoned from hand, well maybe if D-Link still meta relevant because they special summon a lot from hand, but other for other decks not much.
You get like 4 draws at most and they control 3-5 card depending on their deck.
Your cards : 4+4 = 8
Card that your opponent control : at least 3 +6 = 9

That random shuffle is based on the difference between the number of cards in your hand compared to the number of cards that your opponent control +6 at the end of phase.

None of that shit matters unless they're drawing into more handtraps. And if the deck is 50% handtraps and hyper consistent going first the problem is the deck and not Maxx "C".
If your opponent is full combo with 1 card and opens 4 unique handtraps you aren't winning.
I think I like the direction they are taking. Most new archetypes are very similar to Snake Eyes/ Tears, where almost every card has a trigger effect in field/hand/GY, so if you get negated or destroyed, you can still make plays, on your turn and your opponents turn.
If I remember correctly, people liked Tear mirrors back then, also these types of cards feel balanced, at least in comparison to Maxx C.

It's very bad. I've heard from someone who played it a lot is that Tainted is the card that makes the deck "work" since you can OTK with it, but that overall it's just not coherently designed and has too many weaknesses.

This will just end in you getting OTK'd through direct damage if your opponent knows what he's doing.
At best it will buy you one turn as they set up to OTK next turn.
R-Ace really doesn't have much in-archetype to deal with backrow, and also all their shit targets and most of it destroys. So yeah, it'll require them to go into the ED which means you can potentially run them out of options if the game goes on.
Or just OTK them if you get Huli out fast.

Bro... Cook is only immune while he controls no other cards, and Sangan has to go from the field to the GY. If he even activates so much as a Pot of Prosperity then Cook is vulnerable to your quick effects.
Chain anything to Cook's quick effect and he's done for. But they will probably try to make another Cook so get more than just 2 interruptions up.

It was actually a common deck when MD released because there were a ton of "THIS EXODIA DECK IS UNBEATABLE???" clickbait videos and 90% of the players had no idea what they were doing.
You know damn well Angela plays Shaddolls I try to make a PM archetype but frick it its too hard to ajust the cards to YGO effects.Singleton could be cool in YGO but seems very frail unless you somehow overturn it.

Playing this deck in the lower ranks is such a pain in the ass. At least I can OTK Mikanko with Zealantis if I draw enough gas.

People absolutely hate trap cards in the same way they hate extra deck types. I don't even entirely blame them, and I like trap decks. It's stressful facing down 4 mystery cards and not knowing what the best way to navigate the board is thanks to it being hidden information.

The Auroradon play gets killed by Nib but you still get to set 4 after that. And Nib on the field means no Evenly, so summoning shit in defense insulates you.
RACE isn't good but it has more synergy with Auroradon turbo than Kashtira did.
There's the super old Archfiends which are TERRIBLE and the less old but also TERRIBLE Puppet cards. They make the face card knights look like a top tier threat.

Because Fusion is the only one that requires a spell or other card that specifically says "fusion summon (thing)" in it.
Regardless, Synchro does have at least 2 cards that can use your opponent's monster as material, they just suck (one is a Speedroid and the other is a Flip monster).
The game is full of monster fusion effects.
And if you expand it out to just using your opponents monsters and not just the spell speed 4 vacuum cleaner, then like every summoning mechanic has that except XYZ because instead they get given "eat your opponents card" instead

It might actually, Elf has never been legal in any format with SP and Elf was what got Halq finally banned in the OCG. Halq went the entire Halqdon era untouched but it was Sprights that killed it.
SP is even more insane than Halq because you can make it with any 2 monsters.

I never saw Earth or Water decks use Chaos Ruler, doesn't mean it wasn't a bullshit card that deserved to be banned.
Extra Deck generic searching/dumping from the main deck will always be broken no matter how many times Konami tries to force this meme. The Summon Sorcess errata will get banned too. Even today AFD is a strong card despite being nerfed from what it was.
YGO has too many legal cards, too many small advantage engines to allow Extra Deck monsters to search any of them, especially with Links letting you convert any bodies into negates/OTKs.

Super Poly or Typhon aren't outting a Baronne/Chixao/Protos board, and DRNM doesn't stop Blackout or handtraps. You also don't fricking die and Protos effect is still ingering
Every card with "any card sent to the GY is banished instead" should be errata'd to "any card sent to the GY is banished immediately afterward" so they don't turn off half of the fricking handtraps along with every other card that sends to the graveyard as a cost.

Dark Ruler only gets the monsters that are currently on the field. If you have quick effects in the GY ready to go then you can get around it ALSO you get a second turn because you take no damage meaning you can recover if your deck can recur from GY or other things

Baronne was so centralizing that for two days after the TCG banlist came out I was left thinking I couldn't make a negate in VW anymore. The entire Synchro mechanic had been just Baronne for years, I memoryholed all the Gossip Shadow, Tzolkin, Hot Red, Muddy into Dragoon etc lines.
Every time I watch some jap play MD i become irrationally mad because their card text has so much better formatting and you can actually separate effects at first glance instead of looking at some shitty blob written by someone in kindergarten

MD assume player have some kind of experience with card game, as result tutorials are garbage, and Lord forbids you to learn pends because require extra steps not used by other decks.
Still, some basic learning and decent deck can be quite fun to play, once you get a good grip of game, shit is nothing but suffering.
What's the point of going second? You not only have to break all the bullshit your opponent set up either with handtraps or other cards and then also pull off something to win with. You need like twice the cards your opponent does

It's definitely easier to go first most of the time, but there's some merit to going second. It's also easier to steal wins with a blind second OTK deck in a best of 1 like Master Duel's format than in paper where your opponent just sides in all their going 2nd stuff and make you go first instead irl, which is when you just side out all your going 2nd stuff and play going first instead

The mistake is that is also benefits combo Black folk. A version that doesn't is way better for the game.
Which is only a problem because of extreme omni-negate slop boards, which force decks to play insane board breakers and OTK decks.
Maxx-C is the solution to a problem, albeit the real issue is Omni-gate generic slop end boards that require insane resources to plow through.
And this card solves the problem just as well while also turning into a brick for combo Black folk, unlike Maxx C which they can use while you try to deal with their homosexual board.
And eh, as bad as omni-negates are, I'd say all the slow boards are a bigger problem. Waiting 5 minutes for some homosexual to finish isn't fun, whether you can deal with their board easily or not.
I feel like the best solution is some kind of Master Rule 6. If Konami has to consistently power creep the game just to sell cards, then they've basically started this spiraling trifecta of "handtraps>Total lockout endboards> Insane board breakers" and they have to keep upping the power level of each to keep making each playstyle competitive.
It's not hard to imagine a day where veiler and imperm are just shit, and then they have to print something strictly better that's got even less limitations and just does sweeper like effects and hits all monsters your opponent controls.

Yeah, Havnis IS interesting, it's just that her deck was way too strong. There's room for decks that can do turn 0 combos, but they'd need to have real downsides also. There's also room for an Ash Blossom that requires you to reveal one "Penis Smasher" card in hand, but also can be normal summoned to search a "Penis Smasher" card. Or at least is usable as fusion material for that "Penis Smasher" fusion monster that is important to the deck.

I think I like the direction they are taking. Most new archetypes are very similar to Snake Eyes/ Tears, where almost every card has a trigger effect in field/hand/GY, so if you get negated or destroyed, you can still make plays, on your turn and your opponents turn.
If I remember correctly, people liked Tear mirrors back then, also these types of cards feel balanced, at least in comparison to Maxx C.

This will just end in you getting OTK'd through direct damage if your opponent knows what he's doing.
At best it will buy you one turn as they set up to OTK next turn.
R-Ace really doesn't have much in-archetype to deal with backrow, and also all their shit targets and most of it destroys. So yeah, it'll require them to go into the ED which means you can potentially run them out of options if the game goes on.

Extra Deck generic searching/dumping from the main deck will always be broken no matter how many times Konami tries to force this meme. The Summon Sorcess errata will get banned too. Even today AFD is a strong card despite being nerfed from what it was.

What's the point of going second? You not only have to break all the bullshit your opponent set up either with handtraps or other cards and then also pull off something to win with. You need like twice the cards your opponent does
It's objectively more uphill to play blind second, but you get access to some okay upsides.

60 is generally better for bo1. your opponent can't read what your tech cards. 5 rainbow, jowgen, eldlich, tear, etc
