Christ, rescue ace has to be the most obnoxiously swingy meta deck i've ever played. The problem isn't the backrow menace as so many people here seem to think, it's just the deck giving you unplayable hands half of the time.
You only really have 1 card combos in the form of diabellstar, wanted, poplar, and bonfire, but the engine is so big and you want to avoid opening with the traps so you have to run 40+, making your already small amount of 1 card combos even less likely to come up.
This wouldn't be the biggest issue if the 2 card combos weren't so picky but they are. You can't just have say 2 racists, no no no, you NEED to have one of them be air lifter or hydrant or turbulence, whatever depending on what the other is.
When the stars align you win basically every time. I've had several 6+ winstreaks with it so far climbing through diamond and some of master. But when they don't, get fricked. And they don't A LOT.

t. morons who haven't played the deck. Air lifter is a 2 card combo because using emergency to summon turbulence = negated turbulence 90% of the time. Anyone who has played against the deck even just once understands turbulence is the card to hit and will save their imperms/veilers for him.
Emergency is trash as a starter, its purpose is solely in protecting turbulence or extending if turbulence goes unchecked anyway. In a desperate situation, yes, you will use it like that. But it's not a consistent play and more often than not it doesn't pan out.

Sometimes I forget I'm talking to actual kids here. I'm gonna explain it a bit simpler for you.
Imagine a deck has one (1) card it needs to resolve every single game or else it loses.
Imagine that one card can be negated by multiple handtraps.
Now imagine that by using a certain other card you have guaranteed you will be unable to protect that one card.
What happens in most matches now?
This is not at all similar to something like diabellstar or poplar. In the first place most opponents are not looking to hit such cards because they don't hold the same importance that a card like turbulence does. In the second place even if they do get negated you potentially still have more plays available. If air lifter itself gets negated that's one thing but if turbulence gets negated you're done and by using air lifter as a 1 card combo starter you're directly opening the path for turbulence to get negated.
It's like imagine if branded fusion (the card everyone holds their ash for against branded) were the only way for branded to get into its fusion monsters while also being completely unprotectable if you added it via aluber on top of being able to be negated by even more than just ash. Can you really say aluber is a 1 card combo when you know damn well 90% of the time you're going to be looking at branded fusion getting negated after using aluber like that?
People save everything for turbulence because turbulence resolving wins the game and the only hand traps you have to fear are imperm and veiler. Both of which are hard countered by dropping elf or muddragon first.
They could ash your emergency but that gives you fuel for a hiita followup so the only reason you'd be losing is if you're really bad.

Wanted, Diabellstar, Bonfire, Poplar, and Air Lifter are all full combo by themselves. They also have secondary lines off of Emergency and any R-Ace monster, Original and any summonable R-Ace, and a cope line off of Original and any other normal summon.
It's still possible to brick on trap cards, handtraps, and turbulence/preventer, but so far I've only had a hand where there was nothing I could do one time.

People always forget that junks/synchrons are Yusei's deck. Despite the fact that the finale had him use his ace JUNK WARRIOR to finish everything up, and not Stardust. No other protagonist did this, they all ditched their first ace for the power crept version (Atem god cards instead of DM, Judai Neos instead of Wingman etc...)
If not, use AssetStudio, drop the 0000 folder into it, wait like 10 minutes, then you can view everything.
However, you need to use the card numbers from ygocdb.com, which are the small 5-digit numbers, and put them into AssetStudio to find the cards you want.
If you want the uncensored Japanese versions, you can use the uncensored mod on NexusMods and drop it the same way into AssetStudio.

Well, I still managed to win against purrly. Sat on an untargetable guardian chimera for a turn or two, then stole their 5-mat epurrly happiness with nightmare magician, then kept stealing their other things turn by turns.
So, I don't know much about purrly, but don't they have nontargeting effects? Like being able to suck up my monsters as materials for their xyz? They didn't seem to have an out to nightmare magician's battle protection, and being able to protect it from targeting with coatl stopped imperm.
debating if i should spend my gems to finish off rescue ace or or wait till next pack but i am not sure what we are getting next pack. any suggestions?

The synchro is ok, like most of the salamangreat monsters with bootleg reincarnation effects, the extra effect for using itself as material kinda sucks.
It's the "third wheel" deck, so like Playmaker's and Revolver's decks it has other summoning types. They have an Xyz (that they actually play), a Fusion, and a Ritual already. Most people won't play that Synchro though, there's some better options if you want to use the tuner to tune.

Diamond is actually harder than Master because of all the desperation to reach Master at play. People in Master are more chill knowing they cant be demoted back to diamond until the end of the season.

If any synchro or fusion bros are having trouble with Exosister/ Purrely, I added 3x Evenly Matched and a bunch of going second stuff like Raigeki, TTT, Imperm in my deck and it made fighting these decks a breeze. Remember that since Maxx "C" is banned you don't have to keep around called by, crossout designator, or even Ash Blossom.

I would be really happy if one day Virtual World got some decent support - like some new Ace monsters or something so they don't have to rely on some of the gayest strategies - VFD, Power Tool Smoke Bomb hand rip, calamity package. I love this deck but it suffers from having to rely on some of the most degenerate strategies devised.
Alright new master rule: Monsters in the graveyard that were sent from the board to there can be banished face-down as ritual tributes. basically any monster that died / destroyed / sent to GY. helps rituals have tribute material but not an imminent power boost.

i run two of the tuners each, maybe one ruby would be better though, and 2 hop ear squad. 2 or 3 scopios is good, it can be played during your opponents turn. Abyss shark, lifeless leaffish, and minaruka are all good. beautuna is a good searcher, but gets ash'd a lot, and you can run map to get to it. Other then that use staples, none of the ghoti traps they're pretty bad. Oh f!sh! is fun though i run one of those.
Oh and the icejade tuner that summons a token, that thing is great.
Other than the ghoti synchros i use the soulsword guy, adamancipator dragonite, white aura whale, baron is good but i don't really use it, and the icejade rank 10. for the event i replaced the links with the other ok white aura fish and the level 9 crocodile fish.

If you want easy games use the Chimera loaner. You automatically dodge Tear, Super Poly, Branded and all the other fusion slop.

Purely is boring because you sit on a fat Noir. Your opponent doesn’t play the game because they’re thinking how to get you to use her effect. Then they play. You don’t use noir because you know their chokepoint. They pause and think again. They play another card. You do nothing again because it’s not a threat yet. They pause some more and commit to their most important card. Noir effect. They surrender. Real fun GAME OF YUGIOH.

Most decks are too linear to do that anymore, even the ones with starters/extenders that have 3 effects. Or the gameplan is just "Appo turbo" going first or "Accesscode turbo" going second.

Sure, XYZ have Shock, Utopic Zexal, Azathot, VFD, Broad Bull, Rhongo, etc... but they're all banned is the difference. Meanwhile, dog shit like baronne and Kitkall are legal.
The relevant xyz archetypes that have come out since master duel started are exosister, kashtira, and purrely.
No one plays purreley because they don't want to be associated with furries. No one plays exosisters because they have too many URs that came out in different packs. People play Kash, but that's a minority compared to all the synchro and fusion decks out there.
Also, I guess zoo is a thing, but again, not many people rolled for those barrages and armor xyzs.
Purrely is objectively the best deck of the format. Problem is, it's not moron friendly, and expensive, especially if you play the optimal list with ghosttricks which costs you 4 more URs. It's extremely easy to sequence shit wrong and lose out on multiple interruptions and draws, or use the wrong spell and not protect your shit properly. The average moron does way better playing brain dead linear dog shit like Sword Soul where they can just do the same line over and over and summon Chichao into Baronne.
What's the deal with TCG exclusive archetypes having so many restrictions while newer OCG cards have none? The guys behind Ashened seem to think it is 2015 or something.

Reminder to all XYZchads to main deck d fissure. None of the other mechanics have decks that don't care about the GY like we do, and even for XYZ decks that do care about GY you can simply set it up so you detach your monsters into the GY anyway.
They really should just ban the swordsoul cards for any future event, they have always dominated any event they are let free in and I'm so damn tired of playing against it. This goes for all former meta decks than dominate events but with swordsoul it feels like they've had at least a dozen events centred around them.
Literally free wins. 3 Evenly 3 Fissure in Purrely, impossible to lose. They can't deal with towers, or evenly, or fissure. If you get any of those 3 down you win. The rest of the deck is handtraps that deal with their very easy chokepoints (Kitkall and Brafu).

Fine, I'll compare Shock Master to Calamity, which is legal still. Calamity/VFD are more powerful than Shock Master ever was.
In cotrast to their environment moron. Shockmaster didn't do shit compared to VFD and Calamity. Sure, if you bring him back today, he'd be better, because he's easier to summon NOW. But, at the time, he was HARDER to summon than VFD and Calamity are NOW. Context matters when comparing cards. Kitkallos for example, is better than virtually every single none spell card on the ban list purely because it's part of the best deck ever made if there was no banlist. Cards don't exist in a vacuum.

t. morons who haven't played the deck. Air lifter is a 2 card combo because using emergency to summon turbulence = negated turbulence 90% of the time. Anyone who has played against the deck even just once understands turbulence is the card to hit and will save their imperms/veilers for him.
Emergency is trash as a starter, its purpose is solely in protecting turbulence or extending if turbulence goes unchecked anyway. In a desperate situation, yes, you will use it like that. But it's not a consistent play and more often than not it doesn't pan out.

Sometimes I forget I'm talking to actual kids here. I'm gonna explain it a bit simpler for you.
Imagine a deck has one (1) card it needs to resolve every single game or else it loses.
Imagine that one card can be negated by multiple handtraps.
Now imagine that by using a certain other card you have guaranteed you will be unable to protect that one card.
What happens in most matches now?
This is not at all similar to something like diabellstar or poplar. In the first place most opponents are not looking to hit such cards because they don't hold the same importance that a card like turbulence does. In the second place even if they do get negated you potentially still have more plays available. If air lifter itself gets negated that's one thing but if turbulence gets negated you're done and by using air lifter as a 1 card combo starter you're directly opening the path for turbulence to get negated.
It's like imagine if branded fusion (the card everyone holds their ash for against branded) were the only way for branded to get into its fusion monsters while also being completely unprotectable if you added it via aluber on top of being able to be negated by even more than just ash. Can you really say aluber is a 1 card combo when you know damn well 90% of the time you're going to be looking at branded fusion getting negated after using aluber like that?
People save everything for turbulence because turbulence resolving wins the game and the only hand traps you have to fear are imperm and veiler. Both of which are hard countered by dropping elf or muddragon first.
They could ash your emergency but that gives you fuel for a hiita followup so the only reason you'd be losing is if you're really bad.

Wanted, Diabellstar, Bonfire, Poplar, and Air Lifter are all full combo by themselves. They also have secondary lines off of Emergency and any R-Ace monster, Original and any summonable R-Ace, and a cope line off of Original and any other normal summon.
It's still possible to brick on trap cards, handtraps, and turbulence/preventer, but so far I've only had a hand where there was nothing I could do one time.
Those yugitubers weren't lying when they rated R-Ace's difficulty pretty high.

People always forget that junks/synchrons are Yusei's deck. Despite the fact that the finale had him use his ace JUNK WARRIOR to finish everything up, and not Stardust. If you want the uncensored Japanese versions, you can use the uncensored mod on NexusMods and drop it the same way into AssetStudio.
You can find the exact instructions in a MD modding guide on Reddit.

Well, I still managed to win against purrly. Sat on an untargetable guardian chimera for a turn or two, then stole their 5-mat epurrly happiness with nightmare magician, then kept stealing their other things turn by turns.
So, I don't know much about purrly, but don't they have nontargeting effects? Like being able to suck up my monsters as materials for their xyz? They didn't seem to have an out to nightmare magician's battle protection, and being able to protect it from targeting with coatl stopped imperm.

It's the "third wheel" deck, so like Playmaker's and Revolver's decks it has other summoning types. They have an Xyz (that they actually play), a Fusion, and a Ritual already. Most people won't play that Synchro though, there's some better options if you want to use the tuner to tune.

I would be really happy if one day Virtual World got some decent support - like some new Ace monsters or something so they don't have to rely on some of the gayest strategies - VFD, Power Tool Smoke Bomb hand rip, calamity package. I love this deck but it suffers from having to rely on some of the most degenerate strategies devised.

Alright new master rule:
Monsters in the graveyard that were sent from the board to there can be banished face-down as ritual tributes. basically any monster that died / destroyed / sent to GY. helps rituals have tribute material but not an imminent power boost.
monsters in the grave don't remember how they were sent there or from where, and even if they did it would just become a headache to keep track of

How do I build ghoti? I just realized I have all cards, but never tried to build one.
i run two of the tuners each, maybe one ruby would be better though, and 2 hop ear squad. 2 or 3 scopios is good, it can be played during your opponents turn. Abyss shark, lifeless leaffish, and minaruka are all good. beautuna is a good searcher, but gets ash'd a lot, and you can run map to get to it. Other then that use staples, none of the ghoti traps they're pretty bad. Oh f!sh! is fun though i run one of those.
Oh and the icejade tuner that summons a token, that thing is great.
Other than the ghoti synchros i use the soulsword guy, adamancipator dragonite, white aura whale, baron is good but i don't really use it, and the icejade rank 10. for the event i replaced the links with the other ok white aura fish and the level 9 crocodile fish.

yeah I tried this but like jfc so many people playing way stronger stuff actually trying to play the chimera deck is miserable, you get folded by like 1 hand trap as well

This. I had Purrely queued up to use during the event and after two games I dropped it for Galaxy Eyes. Noir is neat and all but like... this is fricking boring and takes too long for such an underwhelming end-board.
Skill issue? Purrely is fricking fun as hell. I just murdered two branded players in a row with happiness OTKs and then had to do a bunch of beauty plays before.
Purely is boring because you sit on a fat Noir. Your opponent doesn’t play the game because they’re thinking how to get you to use her effect. Then they play. You don’t use noir because you know their chokepoint. They pause and think again. They play another card. You do nothing again because it’s not a threat yet. They pause some more and commit to their most important card. Noir effect. They surrender. Real fun GAME OF YUGIOH.

The relevant xyz archetypes that have come out since master duel started are exosister, kashtira, and purrely.
No one plays purreley because they don't want to be associated with furries. No one plays exosisters because they have too many URs that came out in different packs. People play Kash, but that's a minority compared to all the synchro and fusion decks out there.
Also, I guess zoo is a thing, but again, not many people rolled for those barrages and armor xyzs.

Purrely is objectively the best deck of the format. Problem is, it's not moron friendly, and expensive, especially if you play the optimal list with ghosttricks which costs you 4 more URs. It's extremely easy to sequence shit wrong and lose out on multiple interruptions and draws, or use the wrong spell and not protect your shit properly. The average moron does way better playing brain dead linear dog shit like Sword Soul where they can just do the same line over and over and summon Chichao into Baronne.

They really should just ban the swordsoul cards for any future event, they have always dominated any event they are let free in and I'm so damn tired of playing against it. This goes for all former meta decks than dominate events but with swordsoul it feels like they've had at least a dozen events centred around them.

Literally free wins. 3 Evenly 3 Fissure in Purrely, impossible to lose. They can't deal with towers, or evenly, or fissure. If you get any of those 3 down you win. The rest of the deck is handtraps that deal with their very easy chokepoints (Kitkall and Brafu).
Fine, I'll compare Shock Master to Calamity, which is legal still. Calamity/VFD are more powerful than Shock Master ever was.

In cotrast to their environment moron. Shockmaster didn't do shit compared to VFD and Calamity. Sure, if you bring him back today, he'd be better, because he's easier to summon NOW. But, at the time, he was HARDER to summon than VFD and Calamity are NOW. Context matters when comparing cards. Kitkallos for example, is better than virtually every single none spell card on the ban list purely because it's part of the best deck ever made if there was no banlist. Cards don't exist in a vacuum.
