I ran this in my shaddoll deck (sided it actually), but i genuinely can't remember what i was trying to counter, eldlich maybe?
You can do that, but she won't have any materials. Out would be better off summoning Glassouffle because her effect can still trigger when you detach with Tiara Fraise.
Some interactions I learnt while playing in the event: >You can summon Kragen while your opponent controls Bystial Baldrake to prevent it from tributing light/dark monsters to banish shit. >Buzzsaw shark can't target itself (or any other watah monster) while Mudragon is on the field.
Funny stuff
Different Shark enjoyer here. I like 1 Nettle because it can shuffle back ED monsters, just I haven't found a good way to get to it or get it in the GY. Thinking about cutting it altogether but it's kind of like a security blanket that I can grind if I need to plus it's an extender. But Minairuka is definitely a good 3 of so long as you adjust your other extenders to be ones that summon from the hand to avoid losing the activation window to a handtrap on your normal summon. Triple Shthana and double Crystal Shark along with the usual Abyss Shark is a happy minimum to have it be live often enough. I also really like Shthana playing Unexpected Dai for 7 Color Fish, since I can proc Dai first and still summon Shthana and not even commit to my normal summon.
Lifeless Leaf Fish shuffles back too while also getting you a draw, and can be searched off of Buzzsaw. Also Nettle while an extender means you can't use Dugares that turn and Dugares is needed for the combos where you search Xyz Remora.
Personally I don't like Minairuka too much because it risks being chainblocked unlike something like Silent Angler which can still be used if Buzzsaw gets Ashed, or Lantern Shark which is more reliable.
Shthana's fine, but sucks to draw off of Dugares since it can't extend and isn't a fish so it's a bad discard.

Leaffish only shuffles back Fish, most of the Extra Deck monsters are not Fish. Followup is a big problem with this deck, but you want some of your fish in the GY. Thankfully you have Dugares for recursion, since you can just summon back Dark Knight and continue to succ. People forget Dugares has other effects. I cut Angler just because it's anti-synnergy with Remora and I can pop off easy without it. Minairuka is too good, you really should try it.

Ah, right. I forgot that's the case because I haven't really had a grind game, and I've tried to max out on main deck fish for the Dugares combo. I've been just winning on the spot if I manage to do any decent combo since just Buzzsaw alone gets you Lancer+2 draws+Full Armored trap+3 xyz material on the board.
Honestly fish have so many simple extenders with so little difference between them that it doesn't make a huge difference.

I use decks resistant to handtraps like manko. I also am just resistant to getting tilted by card games. I literally got turnskipped by Drytron and had my whole hand except Ohime EEV'd then had Ohime ashed and I shrug and move on. The times I get to double golem and kill him instead make up for it.

Then the choice is easy, board of negates. As long as I can use inherent special summons and the bodies stay in the field or GY there's something to be done. Omniremoval is worse to go against because you can just banish everything and prevent recovery

Regardless, a link-1 do-everything is a lot different from a trap. Being in the ED means it's always ready to summon, which is a huge boon. Any Traptrix can turn into the lynchpin of the deck.
That doesn't mean she's not the posterchild for it. She was basically the gold standard for "fix my dogshit deck" complaints for years. She got superceded in power by the new Genex link-1 but still was the emblem that others were judged by and compared to for years. For example, Nightchaser didn't do enough.

I'm trying to learn an autistic synchro deck with 5 million card effects to follow. Give me a hard reset on the timer every turn. It's not a big ask.

It's beyond impossible tho, the original formula being 2(XYZ)+(Fusion)=total cards means that the minimum total you can account for is 3 cards total, one being the trap and the other the monster the opponent needs to have for the second equation. The starting size considering a new game is 9 cards in total. To be able to use it in the most controlled game state you'd need go first, set and pass so they don't use something like droplet, and pray that your opponent normal summons a lvl4 that is the most common normal summon level. Then use a pair of rank4 monsters whish is the most common rank, and a lvl1 fusion like relinquished, and return the send rank4 to pop the monster. It's just talking crazy

you didn't even do it right, you return TWO monsters and they have to ADD UP to the target, so you have to wait until they drop a big guy to even have a chance of activating it >10 cards total, you banish 3/3 and 4, opp has a level 7, you return 3 and 4 to trigger the board wipe

Synchros stopped being cool when high level synchros stopped requiring three monsters to summon. It only got worse when we started getting high level monsters that special summoned themselves.

The point is that synchro monsters were already balanced on the idea that making them wouldn't be this easy. It would be like if fusion started getting a ton of effects that said "you can change any card's name to whatever you want for the purposes of a fusion summon". Yes I know there are cards like that already, but not to the extent that there is tuner bullshit going on.

Before Kashtira, you needed to run 1 bad card or a Synchro deck to make Baronne.
Now you can take 2 good cards that don't brick, Ash and Unicorn, make Baronne and put up a bullshit board in 4 summons
The problem was always the huge bodies that search broken shit, have removal, SS for free and NO LOCKS
I got particularly lucky with them, somehow. I made an unchained deck a few months ago, and as I was pulling from the secret pack, I got almost a full set of glossy level 3s, and got all I needed within 3-4 packs. I was blessed to play unchained, and yet I still haven't brought it into ranked yet.
I had probably the most absurd match ever in MD >playing Crimson King loaner. I played through 2 ashes, an imperm, a veiler, a nibiru, a called by then the butthole made a zeus, I kept fighting and almost fought through that too until he fricking called by again on my soul resonator search

I know the optimal version of the deck has a second Earthbound engine or some shit that makes it even more consistent. Rikka Sunavalon has some of the strongest endboards of any combo deck while having a ton of 1 card starters, but it's very boring to play.

Predaplant is bad but fun and can at times feel strong.

It's easy when you get the autism about one deck in particular and all your gems go towards bettering it. The call of the petdecks is strong but it shouldn't be your priority. For sure, I get all the gems out of every one. The ritual fest was going on when I first started, and not knowing the system in MD, I missed out on a lot of potential gems. Oh well.

I'm also a boomer, so I don't dismantle boomer cards (and their modern support/retrains).
Reached Lv 19 on every DC, got every single gem and every pack from every event.

I spend all my N's and R's on boomer cards, and have around 200 SR, and like 15 UR.
These are the cards I need to dust in order to finish building R-Ace (need 5 URs) and Unchained (5 URs as well).
Or I could use the dust to finish Chimera Illusion instead which I need a 2nd chimera, 3 mirror knight and 1 other big wing.

Both of those are way better than chimera is atm. I'd say go Unchained, because it's on its way out of the shop, and has a few splashables to be used in future fiend decks, if that interests you.

Imperm can be used going 2nd after topdecking it, unlike Veiler so it's more reliable.
The only upside of Veiler is using it for synchro plays, or when you draw it during the opp's turn after making your board.
Because they are the Fusionshitters and Synchrotards. Since they don't match you with the same summoning mechanic, they play against the XyzGODS that outplay them every game
Grindy decks like that are my favorite, they remind my boomer ass of old school kitchen table yugioh. Interactive games are more interesting then comboslop.

Different Shark enjoyer here. I like 1 Nettle because it can shuffle back ED monsters, just I haven't found a good way to get to it or get it in the GY. Thinking about cutting it altogether but it's kind of like a security blanket that I can grind if I need to plus it's an extender. But Minairuka is definitely a good 3 of so long as you adjust your other extenders to be ones that summon from the hand to avoid losing the activation window to a handtrap on your normal summon. Triple Shthana and double Crystal Shark along with the usual Abyss Shark is a happy minimum to have it be live often enough. I also really like Shthana playing Unexpected Dai for 7 Color Fish, since I can proc Dai first and still summon Shthana and not even commit to my normal summon.
Lifeless Leaf Fish shuffles back too while also getting you a draw, and can be searched off of Buzzsaw. Also Nettle while an extender means you can't use Dugares that turn and Dugares is needed for the combos where you search Xyz Remora.
Personally I don't like Minairuka too much because it risks being chainblocked unlike something like Silent Angler which can still be used if Buzzsaw gets Ashed, or Lantern Shark which is more reliable.
Shthana's fine, but sucks to draw off of Dugares since it can't extend and isn't a fish so it's a bad discard.
Leaffish only shuffles back Fish, most of the Extra Deck monsters are not Fish. Followup is a big problem with this deck, but you want some of your fish in the GY. Thankfully you have Dugares for recursion, since you can just summon back Dark Knight and continue to succ. People forget Dugares has other effects. I cut Angler just because it's anti-synnergy with Remora and I can pop off easy without it. Minairuka is too good, you really should try it.
Ah, right. I forgot that's the case because I haven't really had a grind game, and I've tried to max out on main deck fish for the Dugares combo. I've been just winning on the spot if I manage to do any decent combo since just Buzzsaw alone gets you Lancer+2 draws+Full Armored trap+3 xyz material on the board.
Honestly fish have so many simple extenders with so little difference between them that it doesn't make a huge difference.

I use decks resistant to handtraps like manko. I also am just resistant to getting tilted by card games. I literally got turnskipped by Drytron and had my whole hand except Ohime EEV'd then had Ohime ashed and I shrug and move on. The times I get to double golem and kill him instead make up for it.

Regardless, a link-1 do-everything is a lot different from a trap. Being in the ED means it's always ready to summon, which is a huge boon. Any Traptrix can turn into the lynchpin of the deck.

like I said before, you don't need to setup beyond manipulating the number of cards you own, but you do need to give up most of your ED slots to fit different combinations of xyz/xyz/fusion
It's beyond impossible tho, the original formula being 2(XYZ)+(Fusion)=total cards means that the minimum total you can account for is 3 cards total, one being the trap and the other the monster the opponent needs to have for the second equation. The starting size considering a new game is 9 cards in total. To be able to use it in the most controlled game state you'd need go first, set and pass so they don't use something like droplet, and pray that your opponent normal summons a lvl4 that is the most common normal summon level. Then use a pair of rank4 monsters whish is the most common rank, and a lvl1 fusion like relinquished, and return the send rank4 to pop the monster. It's just talking crazy

It would be like if fusion started getting a ton of effects that said "you can change any card's name to whatever you want for the purposes of a fusion summon". Yes I know there are cards like that already, but not to the extent that there is tuner bullshit going on.
Instead they just make fusion decks require any of the archetypal monsters instead of specific names, and give them ways to access their monsters for free in the same way synchros get tuners for free.
Which fricking sucks because all it does is completely frick over early fusion monsters as a result, and make them borderline unplayable unless there are specific cards that outright ignore their summoning conditions.

Crafting staples, being new and moronic and making bad decks, etc. When do I get to the point where I'm not constantly scraping for 10 gems here, 25 gems there, or contemplating whether I *really* need that niche UR for a deck I *might* make?

It's easy when you get the autism about one deck in particular and all your gems go towards bettering it. The call of the petdecks is strong but it shouldn't be your priority. Grind events as much as you are comfortable with because those give the most amount of gems, and don't underestimate dailies

Imperm is better since it can be used any time, can't be called by'd, can be set for the column negate etc.
Imperm can be used going 2nd after topdecking it, unlike Veiler so it's more reliable.
The only upside of Veiler is using it for synchro plays, or when you draw it during the opp's turn after making your board.

Fortunately (or unfortunately) I had a lot of the URs from other decks like Lab, Eldlich and Muskets.
