Play Zoodiac with Armored XYZ instead that way your deck can play 18 handtraps and 12-15 starters.
Combo is to get a zoo in grave so Chakanine can revive it then make Fortress search trap then make Full Armored. The trap can make Drident on opponent's turn. Barrage lets you end on a 2nd Drident.
I do happen to have a small zoo engine already, besides the URs. And also ariseheart and zeus that I never have the chance to use, if those might be helpful.

Because the ED is kind of unnecessary to begin with. You can make a 4 mat Zeus fairly easily with it. It'll be more important when S:P Little Knight shows up.
Going first and going full combo against Snake Eyes and negating every single of their effects is sooo satisfying

Arc V wasn't bad because it introduced Pendulums,it was bad because the plot went off the rails.
Vrains was bad because it was boring( other comics, cartoons, manga, TV shows, books, movies and anime handled the VR premise better than Vrains did). It also didn't help that the only likable members of the cast had heel turns in season 2 (Go)and 3(AI).
Sevens and Go Rush are good, but get dismissed for being too kiddy.

I haven't used either in any of my decks. One thing I've noticed is that players always resort to 'draw 2 cards' instead of 'take control of opponents monster' even in situations where they would've won if they took control of my monster.

Xyz doesn't really have a deck as popular as the fusions or synchros. Normies only care about Galaxy Eyes, and MAYBE Utopia. At least links have Salamangreat.

Floodgating is what xyz primarily do. Synchros just spam out negates. Fusion and link are the only ones that really have any kind of personality outside some archetype gimmicks.

Idk but rank up is my favorite part about xyz. I like the cxyz and how they retrain xyz cards by letting them rank up to a more powerful version of themselves. Raidraptor has always been one of my favorite decks for that reason. Same reason why the link 5 and 6 firewall dragon are cool.
Agreed. I think natural rank-ups and the RUM cards are the most interesting things about XYZ's but I also think that's because I'm biased towards synchro and it gives off similar climbing vibes.
They will UR tax the frick out of the new cards especially since Snake-Eye also use the new Link-4 and unfortunately your deck needs multiple copies because of how Salamangreats work.

Dinomorphia is the most unfun deck ever created. I say this as someone who enjoys eldlich, stun, burn, and floow from time to time; all those decks have more interaction and branching decisions than Dinomorphia does somehow. The only "fun" part is watching Neutrogena's attack go to funny odd numbers and ferret flame.

no, fusion subs only work when you're using a fusion effect, and gate guardians don't do that, they just summon out of ED like a shitty link
it DOES work as a sub to albaz, but not with branded fusion because it can pull from the deck and apparently the substitution doesn't work for those, even if it's in your hand

It really depends on the deck. Something like Lab? You could do pretty well with zero UR extra deck, 1 Lovely, 1 Lady(already common ratios for competitive decks), 1 Welcome, 2-3 Big Welcome, then the rest of the deck being a mix of regular staples and budget traps.
A lot of decks really get diminishing returns with their URs when going for fully optimized builds. It often feels like to optimize a deck you're nearly doubling the UR cost for something like a 5-10% power boost. Not negligible if you're actually entering tournaments or whatever, but maybe not worth it if you just want something different to play every now and then.

The deck has barely changed since Vernusylphs but it still remains pretty expensive. You still need two of each Madolche ED monster minimum and three of the Vernusylph fairy, Ishizu shufflers also work nice with the deck and one of them is UR.

Kashtira has all their cards limited, Purrely still has some impactful limits and is also generally disliked, Spider Xyz is banned for people who wanted a cheap OTK, and Assembled Nightingale is banned too so the usual event menace Lyrilusc is unplayable. They've got nothing good to play, compared to the ridiculousness of the shit Fusion has access to or Synchro having Swordsoul for free. Even for people who don't have the free Swordsoul deck, the Xyz loaners are dogshit compared to Chimera and Resonators.

My deck isn't even that good at using it unlike Branded/Tear but it still singlehandedly wins games.
Fricking bizarre to me that it was at 1 but they unleashed it when Tears entered the format.

And of the lower rarity ones, Synchro beats Evenly, half the Xyz decks don't care.
Raigeki/LS only crashes Xyz because Synchro negates it and Fusion just recovers or even benefits.

You check the "don't shuffle" box in the hand-testing settings and then arrange your deck so you open with the cards you want.
Also remember that you can host your own room if you haven't yet and test your deck against an IA using a deck of your choice. From my experience the most competent decks are Swordsoul and Kash.

It helps to wait a while after each new release and everyone's new toy hype does down. If after a week or so you still feel you want to go for something in that set than go get it, otherwise, you saved yourself from getting fomo'd on something you probably weren't going to stick with.
Why did the stupid fricking japs when printing kashtira need to last second give them a bunch of 0 attack monsters just to counter Dinomorphia? Was the deck not good enough? Playing under graveyard hate, in fact PLOOSing under graveyard hate, turning off spell columns, there non-boss monsters having 30 positive effects with no downsides, the fact that they are so generic you can slot them into any deck, the insane grind game by recycling banished and graveyard, five million banishes a turn, the cancer endboard going first....
It wasn't enough. They needed 0 attack monsters that can even attack with their defense stat to also let them counter dinomorphia. Why do they have that? Does that fit with the archetype? No, no it doesn't. With a deck like SHS it makes sense because that's their thing, attacking while in defense mode. All the Visas stuff is designed to be mixed together. Scareclaw Kashtira is literally just the bridge between the two and the Def thing is just because it's a main deck version of Tri-Heart.
I like playing the interesting decks then the good ones. Currently I am running Shaddolls with it for extra value when discarding while grabbing more Shaddolls to fuse with and bridge the two with Venom Dragons. I haven't fused yet this game yet since most people quit when two Nouvelles go down on the field

Just more consistency, I guess? That's the thing though, even if you only get the bare minimum, you'll at least get the rare god hand going first, allowing you to see how the deck really plays. Yeah, I like that idea. I've been holding off on building tear forever, just because of how expensive they are.

What is "all the staples"? Besides the usual 12 (maxx, ash, cbtg, crossout, imperm) i have 2 dimension shifter, 2 lightning storm, 2 triple tactics talent and 1 triple tactics thrust.
You can try something like this which is adapted from the #1 DC Cup Lab deck
Psyframe really benefits from at least 2 Chaos Angels which is highly recommended since the only ED monsters you're going to summon in Lab are Chaos Angel, Muckraker, and Dharc. If you don't want to craft more than 1 Chaos Angel you can opt to replace the Psyframe package with more traps or floodgates (EEV, Gozen Match, Powersink Stone, Five-Rainbow, Torrential Tribute).
The ED is mostly budget "send to GY" options for Dogmatika Punishment like the Fossil fusion cards, Malong, Ignister, Aggregator, and Ferrijit and can be swapped out or upgraded easily

Play Zoodiac with Armored XYZ instead that way your deck can play 18 handtraps and 12-15 starters.
Combo is to get a zoo in grave so Chakanine can revive it then make Fortress search trap then make Full Armored. The trap can make Drident on opponent's turn. Barrage lets you end on a 2nd Drident.
I do happen to have a small zoo engine already, besides the URs. And also ariseheart and zeus that I never have the chance to use, if those might be helpful.

It's good. You can easily end the board with 2 Kragen, Dark Knight and an Abyss Dweller on the opponent turn.
That's 2 destruction without targeting + one sucx from Dark Knight and GY shutdown.

I haven't used either in any of my decks. One thing I've noticed is that players always resort to 'draw 2 cards' instead of 'take control of opponents monster' even in situations where they would've won if they took control of my monster.

Floodgating is what xyz primarily do. Synchros just spam out negates. Fusion and link are the only ones that really have any kind of personality outside some archetype gimmicks.
Fusion has a frickload of removal and superpoly, a lot of their cards are removal focused in some way.

Idk but rank up is my favorite part about xyz. I like the cxyz and how they retrain xyz cards by letting them rank up to a more powerful version of themselves. Raidraptor has always been one of my favorite decks for that reason. Same reason why the link 5 and 6 firewall dragon are cool.

Dinomorphia is the most unfun deck ever created. I say this as someone who enjoys eldlich, stun, burn, and floow from time to time; all those decks have more interaction and branching decisions than Dinomorphia does somehow. The only "fun" part is watching Neutrogena's attack go to funny odd numbers and ferret flame.

You can play the Cyberdark normal summon engine for Exos if you want
Exorsister got along just fine without the spirit package. It's also one of the better decks since it's a strong answer to Tearlament.
You don't need the shaddoll for Tear, just replace the missing Reinoheart with sea mare and play Fusion Deployment
You can do it without Sakitama or a smaller 1 UR package version.

it DOES work as a sub to albaz, but not with branded fusion because it can pull from the deck and apparently the substitution doesn't work for those, even if it's in your hand

The deck has barely changed since Vernusylphs but it still remains pretty expensive. You still need two of each Madolche ED monster minimum and three of the Vernusylph fairy, Ishizu shufflers also work nice with the deck and one of them is UR.
I already have Ishizu shufflers and apparently I also randomly have the 3 Vernuslyph UR

In MD? The minimum shell is 6 UR, 2 of each Xyz monster. You can maybe get by with 1 a la mode if you're on a tight budget but I wouldn't try it. You also want to run a Vernusylph package and Hills is a UR but most lists these days only run 1-2 of her.
In MD it's pretty expensive.
In paper the deck is cheap with the exception of Madolche Saloon, which is already a bit pricey thanks to only having one set print and it's spiking thanks to news of the new support.

MD use gacha features for packs and card rarity, but is quite easy to make decks and is actual game without any other fluff like DL.

They've got nothing good to play, compared to the ridiculousness of the shit Fusion has access to or Synchro having Swordsoul for free. Even for people who don't have the free Swordsoul deck, the Xyz loaners are dogshit compared to Chimera and Resonators.

You check the "don't shuffle" box in the hand-testing settings and then arrange your deck so you open with the cards you want.
Also remember that you can host your own room if you haven't yet and test your deck against an IA using a deck of your choice. From my experience the most competent decks are Swordsoul and Kash.

It helps to wait a while after each new release and everyone's new toy hype does down. If after a week or so you still feel you want to go for something in that set than go get it, otherwise, you saved yourself from getting fomo'd on something you probably weren't going to stick with.

Why did the stupid fricking japs when printing kashtira need to last second give them a bunch of 0 attack monsters just to counter Dinomorphia? Was the deck not good enough? Playing under graveyard hate, in fact PLOOSing under graveyard hate, turning off spell columns, there non-boss monsters having 30 positive effects with no downsides, the fact that they are so generic you can slot them into any deck, the insane grind game by recycling banished and graveyard, five million banishes a turn, the cancer endboard going first....
It wasn't enough. They needed 0 attack monsters that can even attack with their defense stat to also let them counter dinomorphia. Why do they have that? Does that fit with the archetype? No, no it doesn't. With a deck like SHS it makes sense because that's their thing, attacking while in defense mode. I like playing the interesting decks then the good ones. Currently I am running Shaddolls with it for extra value when discarding while grabbing more Shaddolls to fuse with and bridge the two with Venom Dragons. I haven't fused yet this game yet since most people quit when two Nouvelles go down on the field

I've been wondering, how effective are "bare minimum" builds, across different archetypes? Like, a poverty deck where you only have 1-ofs.

It really depends on the deck. Something like Lab? You could do pretty well with zero UR extra deck, 1 Lovely, 1 Lady(already common ratios for competitive decks), 1 Welcome, 2-3 Big Welcome, then the rest of the deck being a mix of regular staples and budget traps.
A lot of decks really get diminishing returns with their URs when going for fully optimized builds. It often feels like to optimize a deck you're nearly doubling the UR cost for something like a 5-10% power boost. Not negligible if you're actually entering tournaments or whatever, but maybe not worth it if you just want something different to play every now and then.

Just more consistency, I guess? That's the thing though, even if you only get the bare minimum, you'll at least get the rare god hand going first, allowing you to see how the deck really plays. You can try something like this which is adapted from the #1 DC Cup Lab deck
Psyframe really benefits from at least 2 Chaos Angels which is highly recommended since the only ED monsters you're going to summon in Lab are Chaos Angel, Muckraker, and Dharc. If you don't want to craft more than 1 Chaos Angel you can opt to replace the Psyframe package with more traps or floodgates (EEV, Gozen Match, Powersink Stone, Five-Rainbow, Torrential Tribute).
The ED is mostly budget "send to GY" options for Dogmatika Punishment like the Fossil fusion cards, Malong, Ignister, Aggregator, and Ferrijit and can be swapped out or upgraded easily

Another copy of a good trap won't hurt you, you don't need to run everything in one-off. I ran 2 each when I didn't have enough URs.
