16 years ago I traded 50% of my collection for the most real looking Slifer the Sky Dragon on the block. Later that same day a bully snatched it while I was dueling kids on the street and he ruined the card. Once I got it back by he had colored the card red with a marker.
I got into a fight with some fat nig that followed me into the carpark and started demanding one of my pots. I couldn't tell if he was talking about the card or the drug because he was slurring so much. He tried to do the usual sucker punch thing but hit a parking sign instead, I took the opportunity to boot him in the kneecap while he was reeling and then ran off. It was really cheap and pathetic, but that's just how ygo matches go, both at the table and off.
Even if someone did spend money on gems (which you don't need to do because MD throws gems at you for breathing), at least some fat neckbeard couldn't just come and swipe them.

Someone stole my BEWD from the Kaiba starter deck when I was a kid. Not a huge deal now but at the time I was pretty devastated. It was my favorite card and I didn't have a lot of money when I was growing up. I stopped bringing my cards to school after that. Honestly I kind of want to buy that card again. Would be some nice closure, you know?
Back when the cards were just released, I got both my first edition Envoy of the Beginning and of the End stolen, along with the rest of my cards back when I used to go to a card shop where I also played Halo and Melee with some friends, naive me left my backpack on a chair because I already knew most people there and they were overall nice people, went to play some Melee matches and when I came back, my cards were gone. It still stings, but it was a good lesson in life.

Best thing about yugioh reprints is the cheaper variants of cards. People clown me for using my common/cheaper variants vd their all foiled out expensive deck then break down in complete tears when it gets stolen. If there’s version of a card, use it.
It's pretty easy to happen. If your deck ever leaves your vision it can very easily get yoinked, even if only for 2 seconds to sign a match slip. Especially in a large tournament hall with so much noise.
I could see that only if you were in the middle of a game or something and everything was laid out. If your cards are in your deck box though, its effortless to just carry it with you.

one of my favorite decks (which is surprisingly viable) is go second charmers, using different engines to bait interactions, but also nab stuff from the GY and use accesscode + sheridan / zombie vampire to otk once i snatch stole everything in front of me.
It's a bit complex, sickest idea here is proccing P. squire in hand using an elf summoned dumped valerifawn. Basically resolving rescue cat will give you access to 80% of your deck.
I'm too impatient in these events to watch people's slow combos, so I just give in if they're taking too long. I wonder if just playing slow as frick is a valid tactic.
Do Chimeras have any bottleneck or do you just have to hope that guardian chimera isn't enough? It seems like they just keep churning through card advantage.

When games typically end on turn 3, yeah that single omninegate actually matters.
Better to ban ED stuff than go after snake eyes itself, there'll always be a new archetype that spams bodies so best way to go for "balance" is hitting generic ED stuff like savage dragon and baronne.
It's best not to take any format seriously for my two cents, this game is just for fun and not competitive in any meaningful way since the most important factor regarding fairness and balance is Konami's bottom line.

What was the point in some of these old shitty fusion monsters? I understand bad cards in general, if it's all you have then you'd put them in your deck (i.e. for kids just playing for fun) but why have cards that you have to go out of your way to get? Was there a reason for this, was there some card to get them out easily or something? I really like some of the art on them, some are cool like this guy or Kaiser Dragon or Soul Hunter but I like Old Yu-Gi-Oh art in general.

A lot of them are REALLY old. Like they came out before the TCG existed, and the TCG skipped most of the earliest stuff on release. Were the devs thinking that them being special summons makes them too strong? Did they just not care because the point was to sell cool pictures of monsters to little kids through vending machines? Who knows.
They're better today than they were originally though because we have cards like Ready Fusion and can use them as material for other types of ED summons.
Just went almost 50 turns against a Korean who wouldn't let me end. Kept destroying my cards with R-ace traps and resummoning his fire-only floodgate when I destroyed it. He'd pass every turn and eventually I went with it and drew/discarded until I crafted the perfect hand and tried to beat him with it. I blundered a few times from nerves but what was supposed to be really toxic actually turned out pretty fun. I ended up playing through his back line and finally getting a monster out to kill myself with battle damage with 6 cards left in my main deck. I'm counting it as a win.
I dont give a frick about any of the recent modern archetypes outside Goblin Riders, Novox and Gimmick Puppet support. The wait is killing me.

The issue is that the thing you need to small world into has to be insane. And the only card that fits that criteria is circular. I tried small world in kashtira. While yes it does help you find combo, it doesn't improve your combo in most cases. For instance, a single ash would kill me in most cases where I did not already have theosis. However for circular you can't really find a good ash target and they are guaranteed to at least end on something. I could rip two from the extra deck but I'm almost guaranteed to get lethaled.

You’ve never gotten jumped by a pack of yugioh thieves and it shows.
It's pretty easy to happen. If your deck ever leaves your vision it can very easily get yoinked, even if only for 2 seconds to sign a match slip. Especially in a large tournament hall with so much noise.
I could see that only if you were in the middle of a game or something and everything was laid out. If your cards are in your deck box though, its effortless to just carry it with you.
It's actually the easiest when they're in a deck box, specifically when you're putting things away

one of my favorite decks (which is surprisingly viable) is go second charmers, using different engines to bait interactions, but also nab stuff from the GY and use accesscode + sheridan / zombie vampire to otk once i snatch stole everything in front of me.
It's a bit complex, sickest idea here is proccing P. squire in hand using an elf summoned dumped valerifawn. Basically resolving rescue cat will give you access to 80% of your deck.

VW is like 1 UR (shenshen) so you should do that regardless but Dracoslayer is a cool pendulum deck if you don't have one yet.

What was the point in some of these old shitty fusion monsters? I understand bad cards in general, if it's all you have then you'd put them in your deck (i.e. for kids just playing for fun) but why have cards that you have to go out of your way to get? Was there a reason for this, was there some card to get them out easily or something? I really like some of the art on them, some are cool like this guy or Kaiser Dragon or Soul Hunter but I like Old Yu-Gi-Oh art in general.

A lot of them are REALLY old. Like they came out before the TCG existed, and the TCG skipped most of the earliest stuff on release. Were the devs thinking that them being special summons makes them too strong? Did they just not care because the point was to sell cool pictures of monsters to little kids through vending machines? Who knows.
They're better today than they were originally though because we have cards like Ready Fusion and can use them as material for other types of ED summons.

Just went almost 50 turns against a Korean who wouldn't let me end. Kept destroying my cards with R-ace traps and resummoning his fire-only floodgate when I destroyed it. He'd pass every turn and eventually I went with it and drew/discarded until I crafted the perfect hand and tried to beat him with it. I blundered a few times from nerves but what was supposed to be really toxic actually turned out pretty fun. I ended up playing through his back line and finally getting a monster out to kill myself with battle damage with 6 cards left in my main deck. I'm counting it as a win.

The issue is that the thing you need to small world into has to be insane. And the only card that fits that criteria is circular. I tried small world in kashtira. While yes it does help you find combo, it doesn't improve your combo in most cases. For instance, a single ash would kill me in most cases where I did not already have theosis. However for circular you can't really find a good ash target and they are guaranteed to at least end on something. I could rip two from the extra deck but I'm almost guaranteed to get lethaled.
